Reviews for Jackass!
Back to MangaJackass is a terribly cute manga. I'll keep my review short and sweet because writing too much about it will be giving away spoilers, and I don't want that. I'll begin by applauding how well the mangaka handled the 'I'm gay but I didn't know I was gay till something happened to me'. It was completely natural and progressed in an organic succession; both the parties involved behaved in a manner that would be typical of people in their position, esp the MC. I also loved how the fetish angle was added to the entire drama - this was a first for me and Ithoroughly enjoyed it!
It was also interesting to note how 3 different stories were told in 7 chapters. The bully's story was especially interesting (at least for me). All in all, if you're looking for something light, fun and completely kawaii to read (with very few sex scenes), I'd highly recommend this manga!
*SPOILERS*
The only issue I had with this was the way a sexual relationship was handled between a 15 yr old child and a middle aged man. I mean, if the seme was 18-20, I'd have been more forgiving bc of the small age gap between them, but 20 years is too big an age gap for me to look past.
This story caught me totally off-guard! Pantyhose just totally changed in my eyes. I will never be able to wear them again without being reminded of this passionate story! I might have discovered something new about myself, hah! Not only is the art style amaaaazing with all its ikemen, the intensity of the characters reacting to each other took hold of my heart right away. If you want to have your heart thunder against your chest in anticipation, this is the short manga you need to read. The various relationships come together perfectly, making it like a small soap opera with a very satisfying ending, mhm! Seriously, gosh, I haven't enjoyed a highschoolish BL story like this one as much as I did this one.
Jackass is a manga that seems to not even be really sure what it wants to be. It goes from being just a long set up to a fetish porn to an attempt to portray a coming out story, then back to fetish porn, than again back to an attempt at a more "serious" plot and finishes with good old porn. Either this is attempt to market a manga to that sort of fujoshi which is unable to enjoy a story unless it has two dudes banging, maybe it's the opposite and it's trying to get manga serialization for the author's personal fetish by tryingto pitch it with a story. Both are plausible scenarios and both should by solved by focusing just on that one part the author wanted to focus as this mix just weakens both of those parts simultaneously.
The story isn't that great - it's pretty much just a basic "oh shit I might be gay" scenario, just laced with some stockings. Take away the homosexuality and you have a generic script for shoujo manga as the heroine realizes she has a crush on someone. This only has an illusion of having a good story that is created by most of yaoi manga having an absolutely awful storytelling. Among those, even an average work would look very good, and as they say the one-eyed is the king in the land of the blind.
Also, the one saving grace this has is an art that too is better then the average yaoi, this time by far (for yaoi standards). Those characters look like actual people and not like aliens from Planet X whose hands had to be evolved to enormous sizes to help them survive by swimming in those muddy waters of their home world, as the yaoi character design usually looks.
Well, if you're a fan of yaoi you will most likely give this a very high score regardless of this review or of the actual content of the manga, so this is just a fair warning for those reasonable ones who might have wandered to this manga entry by chance and might be wondering if the high mean score is really deserved.
Really great manga here. Not the usual average and cliche one which im full of. Smart and witty the characters(making me wish they were my real friends as they care for each other, but also wont let others to make stupid mistakes), their development is real as well as their interior issues which can be helpful for each of us to learn from. The story is very interesting and truly funny, can be easily seen that the mangaka has a colourful mind. The art has all the great points, both the comedy parts and the sexual ones are really great and different. A pleasure to read this mangaand i truly recommend it.
Man this BL by Scarlet Beriko was a hot one, yet with a a dash of angst and feelings, so it felt meat-y. Plus there was a realism to it that I enjoyed, there wasn't any rape but they also didn't develop instantly, which is great! I also really enjoy friends-to-lovers type of stories the best, because they feel like they've been building up to it, instead of sudden~ I'm actually blown-away that in 6 short chapters this manga had so much density. I really did not expect it, I thought it'd be just a simple porn smut to pass the time, but it was notso. Which was a really good pleasant surprise! ヽ(^Д^)ノ
Plus the kink scenes with the stockings, biting legs and thighs??? HNNNNG, KINK IS MY MIDDLE NAME, YES BITE HIM WELL AND GOOD /breathes. The sex scenes were great, plus realism. Lubed Condoms! Fingered open! Slowly and steady yet really intense! /brings out an industrial fan.
Ya'll need to live and experience this one if you like thighs, sexiness, and legs <3
Where do I even begin reviewing this wonderful piece of artwork? Jackass! breezed into the yaoi world like a breath of fresh air. The first time I read it, I was awestruck with the unique characters, clean artwork, and captivating story. I purchased the manga and love to re-read the story from time to time. The story as mentioned in the synopsis revolves around two high school friends, Masayuki and Keisuke, who after an accidental pantyhose slip-on find out that the other has a pantyhose fetish. Beriko sensei's unique art style is one of the key points of her storytelling. Her attention to detail tobackground artwork, facial expressions, and witty dialogue really brings the emotion of the characters out. A quick shout out to Katsumi chan being the baddest seme out there. Another note about Beriko sensei's work in general, she has empowering side female characters, Akiko Hara in Jackass!, which is a rare find amongst the BL works since women are often made to be "annoying" or “demeaning”.
If you enjoy reading yaoi and want something that's fun and unique then pick Jackass! up since it'll easily become your favorite!
JACCKASS has good theme, it's common love story but not that common. The story has funny romatic moments with unique style, approching the love that every character has in their own way. Every character has their own personality and some of them are kind of intense. They manage to not keep it boring and excited. Personally, I like how the story of love between two men is more open in this manga. A love with no conflicted in what the society thinks are great because it shows a very honest love in a realistic way, it shows a message for those readers who support this kind oflove and to not to be scared about that stituation.
**contains spoilers** English version: Jackass is a well known work in the yaoi world. With an impeccable style, the mangaka, develops the characters very well, in addition to writing a wonderful development between the protagonists. Keisuke and Masayuki have a true friendship relationship that turns into a troubled one after Masa tells his friend Kei that he has a fetish for pantyhose on pretty legs. Kei and Masa build a beautiful love during the manga, even though it came at an inappropriate time, I mean, they both lived in troubled times with their families. Both were having trouble expressing themselves but, luckily, they found the solution ineach other.
And I confess that I didn't like secondary couples, mind you, I love katsumi but I don't like that doctor at all, even after that "act of love".
The only problem is that it ends up, so short it makes you want to cry.
Even thought the stories felt heavier, it somehow comes out as something fun and refreshing. I liked all these developed storylines from two friends realizing they had feelings for each other (one with a pantyhose fetish - so hot), and the age gap relationship of the sensei and student. They are too cute! I most especially liked the the guy who got together with the school doctor because he was seriously adorable with his facial expressions and strong personality. I was also giddy when I learned that the drama cd for this manga was voiced by some of my favorite seiyuus, and of course ithas to be Eguchi-kun and Nishimaya-kun being a couple in this story too! <3 <3 <3 and also Yuuma Uchida was also cool. I hope I could listen to the drama cd of this story soon and I bet it will be so hot and fun!
I highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of yaoi manga! The story is great and so are the characters! It's very sweet and cute that you just can't help but enjoy it. Each character has such a unique personality and their fair share of problems that they all overcome and gets resolved in a great way. I was nervous about this manga since it was only 1 volume that some things might end up unresolved with a character but it was wrapped up nicely and the author didn't just force the ending which was great. I hope when you read it foryourselves that you'll enjoy it as much as I did!(:
Jackass!: Sawatte Ii tte Dare ga Itta yo? Review -Jackass! Who said it was okay to touch? By: Beriko Scarlet January 30, 2019 Overall: 6.8 Plot: 6 There are few stories who tackles the topic ablut having a fetish, or so I think? There are things you will be really attracted to, something that if it will caught your eye, you will have a hard time turning your gaze back. It's rather amusing to see people like that, in which in this case, the fetish of the protagonist is somewhat interesting? This one focuses on the friendship of two guys and how they come to end up being together because ofan unexpected liking that will suit each of them. But! I'm more inlove with the side story of their friend and its love for their teacher. Sensei and student relationship is just too lovable.
Characters: 6
The protagonists of the story is unique in a very odd way. A rich brat who always get what he wants, with a smile always plastered on his face. And another one with a face of a yakuza but with a heart like a girl. What really caught my eyes is the secondary character who really looks like tsukishima of haikyu but way smaller. He is cute and innocent. He is the only character who know love best, in my opinion.
Art: 9
I've really search the author of this story. First is tsukishima. Second is the protagonist of the story who really looks like the main character in Yuri on Ice. But yeah, they are a different person, I just thought they are the same. The art is cool and kind of wild? The expression of the characters when full of malice are just too good.
Enjoyment: 7
The fetish of the protagonists is just way too funny. Like "Is it for real?" or "Are you serious?". And how the other one ride on that thought is really absurd. It's a short story and it won't take up too much time to read.
Ending: 6
The ending is predictable the way the story is running. Bestfriends falling inlove and such only has one way out, to end up with each other. Well, all is well. And they live happily ever after!
