Reviews for Radiation House
Back to MangaThe day has come my friends. Finally, a Manga about the greatest medical specialty of all: RADIOLOGY! It has always been puzzling me how few Anime/ Manga cover the medical profession, especially when compared to their non-animated book/TV-drama counterparts. And now we even get one about Radiology. What a day to be alive. So, is it good? Well, it’s pretty average honestly. Dissecting the Manga, it basically consists of three main parts. First there is the romcom with all the tropes we know and love: childhood promise, tragic past… you get the idea. Most of the comedy revolves around our genius MC being really awkward around themain girl causing misunderstandings.
Next, we have medical drama which is pretty standard and could very well air on morning TV. It usually follows this pattern: patient comes in with symptom, doctors can’t find anything wrong with the patient, someone form the cast meets the patient and bonds with them, some backstory on the patient with emotional moments, MC sweeps in and solves the case. Yeah, nothing special here.
Last but not least we are occasionally treated to a bunch of Radiology infodump. It’s mostly beginner level knowledge, but if you don’t have a job in the medical field you will probably learn something new. Even though the authors don’t seem to have experience in the medical field themselves, they have done research and most of the information is accurate. Of course, I could nitpick a few mistakes, but the Manga is a romcom at heart so who cares.
I enjoyed the character art in this Manga. Each face is drawn fairly detailed and the characters expressions conveys their emotions well. The background art does take a back seat though, so don’t expect too much there.
Even though this Manga is pretty average, the medical cases kept me interested enough to continue reading and see how they were solved. If you have no interest in medicine/Radiology however, this Manga is probably not for you.
TLDR: Romcom/medical drama hybrid with occasional Radiology infodump.
Radiation House comes across as a typical medical drama, which I was very happy about, since I highly appreciate this genre. The Story is solid in my opinion, it has a rather cliche synopsis of childhood friends finding back together and the likes. However, it is told with a nice pacing, leaving space for the medical things and information to be presented to the reader. The art is unique in some way, I personally found it to be rather gentle on the eye and enjoyable. For me, the characters are absolutely the strong point of this manga. Even though the protagonist is a massive Simp, the chemistry and relationshipsbetween the various characters are what made the chapters so fun to read! Every character brings a perspective to the table and they can be seen as a bit deep when its needed.
Overall, I can say I highly enjoyed this read so far and can only recommend it for everyone who likes something from the medical genre. If you're thinking about wether you should read it or not, definitely give it a shot!
I genuinely enjoy this manga so much that i would easily consider it so be one of my favorite its a quite a weird manga so its definitely not for everyone Art 9/10 the art reminds me a lot of a mix between shiori experience and insomniacs at night due to the highly detailed but stylized characters and the amazing background art Story 8/10 The story is very simple as its just about an overqualified radiology technician that finds his way into a position at the same hospital as the person who inspired them to work in the field. In addition it does feature some romance elements thought atthe current chapter (78 at the time of writing this) not much had progressed or occurred. Despite the lackluster story I feel like its the art and characters that make this manga excel
Characters 10/10
Its very subjective but I believe that the cast of characters are some of the best in any manga I’ve read. Very similar to Komi can’t communicate all the characters are introduced as odd people that aren't what many consider normal. what sets it apart is that it shows that despite their quirks they are all still very devoted to their job and don't seem annoyingly ignorant or dumb. One interesting way that the characters are developed it how they are individually singled out in a situation where the main lead may not be present and they are forced to figure out the situation on their own and in turn develop as a character. In addition all the dynamics are very wholesome and the characters all seem to work together well.
enjoyment 10/10
Overall I enjoyed the hell out of the series and ended up reading it in one night. I also really like how you could see the effort the author put into research for a project about such a niche subject and I feel that it made the crazy amounts of information understandable in a way even a dumbass reader like myself could understand.
All in all I completely recommend this for anyone to at least try
i do enjoy read this manga, i mean i like the way that this manga turns out from an mc being a simp, but he's also a genius in another way, i do find this manga satisfying to read and also quietly emotional at some part because since i was a child my family always went to the hospital a lot of time even until now for some private reason, and also i kinda like the way that they decided to tell us as a reader a lot of complicated things in medical way that of course i dont understand a lot of it, buti still like it...
Story 8, a solid emotional ride when it comes to taking care of patients, but in another part also some kind of romcom vibes was there.
art 8, of course man, if u managed to get a manga adaptation of ur own stories then it should be a good art style right?, well there's a lot fan service in this manga that wasn't necessary, but nvm it's good.
character 8, i like the mc that in another way he's a simp, but in another way he's a fuckin genius dude, i do like the main heroine chara too, she has the vibe that tells me that she won't give up, and i kinda like that.
enjoyment 9, i don't know why but i do have some satisfying feels when reading this manga, and that's just great.
overall 8, i do like this manga, i hope it will get anime adaptation later :D
