Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw is a manga about Geeko and her simply insane adventure in trying to defeat Nero. Let me preface this review by saying that I was jokingly going to pick this up instead of Chainsaw Man for a chapter or two but got hooked and ended up finishing it. The story of this manga was very well paced, there would be a buildup scene lead to an intense action scene, not only is the story well paced but super enjoyable! Whilst there are some questionable plot points this was fantastic story wise, it is all decently explained until the very last arc, whichthe story also dips a bit but is still alright.

Most, if not all of the characters(yes even the villains!) were enjoyable to read and each character had a surprising amount of page time. The emotional attachment as well was quite strong even for characters we have only met for a short period of time.

The only two downfalls(and honestly, one is a nitpick more than anything) of this series would be art and that ending.

The art is alright but the author seems to have same face and same body type syndrome with frankly all the characters. The author is also really horny at times and quite often draws nude women so if that is not what you want to be looking at, do steer away. Besides those two gripes, the art and the action scenes in this manga is fantastic!

Last thing to address is the ending, the ending fits. It is not satisfactory but it works and makes sense for a series like this. I do not want to go into too much detail as to not spoil anything but it was just really anticlimactic.

TL;DR : Sick ass action scenes with good pacing for manga, but with some weird plot holes and weak-ish ending.

It seems like it could be a good read sometime, but not for the me now. The art is a bit unbearable for me. I don’t want to be a person who drops a manga for it’s art, but I am… It is also overly fan service-y for a manga about a 15 year old. But that also might just be a side effect of the not so great art. Again, I might pick it up in the future, when I am not as picky, but not for me right now. The story seems like it could be interesting if you can get over the art.I am also scared the characters seem overly trope-y? But I did not get very far, so thats just first impressions…

I also have a frequent problem with finishing manga if each chapter is too long, and the first chapter alone took me a very long time to finish. I wish it could be split up more, so I can give myself breaks.
