The beginning of Boy Princess is very rushed, and after starting it I began to wonder if it would even be worthwhile to keep reading. Once things slowed down, however, and the focus settled on the absolutely mind-boggling relationship between Jed and Nicole, I immediately forgave the rushed start and became more and more involved with the story, which is far more complicated than it seems at first glance. Boy Princess certainly has its share of humourous and lighthearted moments, but it has just as many scenes that make you go, "Huh?" and "No way!", and even a few that'll break your heart. The characters arecertainly intriguing, and even the ones that sit on the sidelines get their chance to shine. The complex plot is hard to take in at first, but as more is revealed everything starts to makes sense.

For the record, this isn't strictly a shounen-ai manhwa. It has rather large doses of straight couplings too, and I even found myself enjoying those relationships.

I picked Boy Princess up as a light shounen-ai read, but I got so much more. When I read the last page I came away with tears on my face. An extremely enjoyable manhwa that will always hold a place in me, and that I thoroughly recommend for anyone who likes this genre.

This manhwa gets your love slowly. Story seems confusing and a bit rushed at first and characters may be hard to tell apart.. But when I started reading it again it all suddenly was making more sense. I wasn't able to stop reading and go to bed XD. After this beginning it seemed to slow down and Jed and Nicole's relationship was really "cute". Then storyline went to being a bit complicated and sometimes I even found myself wondering what the hell is happening, especially if there were some new characters I wasn't exactly sure who they were... But when you get to certainpoints, it makes sense coming with characters and their developing relationships. Shahi's character was certainly interesting *-* Troubles. Politics. Angst. Forbidden Relationships. Poisons. Fights. Yup there's lot of...interesting stuff.

Art isn't awesome, but isn't exactly bad. Just sometimes characters looked too alike (in scenes where you would be REALLY happy to tell them apart).. Or when those characters look different because of hair..and then water makes straight hair wavy. >_> Main characters surely make it shounen-ai but there are also involved few normal relationships which are not less enjoyable. Like alchemist princess..really cute. X3 So not exactly canon shounen-ai, especially since it's really focused a lot on the plot and not only on their love.

So yup. I enjoyed this a lot. It's not exactly light read but it's love. And last volume was really emotional and I liked it a lot...(tho it kind of did end up a bit stupid way..could have been better).

Oh yeah, by the way....it's better to read it at once otherwise you will always end up trying to recognize characters again and again if you don't have some awesome telling-apart ability.
