Dolly Kill Kill, i knew that something with that name had to be good and i was right, this manga has it all, good story with huge potential, cool characters, great amount of violence and gore and all done/draw very well. Both Story and Art authors, this is their first Manga and it's a really good one, so moving on: Story- 8/10 The story is an apocalypse kind of theme with a flair of creepiness known as Dollies that style of Aliens or Monster that invade Earth wiping almost all humans but some survive and now it's on them to take back Earth and win the waragainst the enemy.

The downside of this manga are the quantity of pages on each chapter. The count of pages starts somewhere in the twenties but after the first like 40 chapters begins to become below the twenties.

So if your into scary story's , full of action, gore and with hidden secrets this is a great choice.

Art- 9/10

A great style of art to say the least. I personally find it very suitable to the story and not only is it not blurry at all but the fighting scenes are also very clear . The characters also have a nice style to them as they are simple drawn and yet charming at the same time. The gore and body parts have improved since the manga first started and action got better and better, plus amazing face expressions.

Overall/Enjoyment- 10/10

I love it, the action, gore, the drama and despair of some characters everything is very well done , i have never follow a manga from the start but i'm very glad i did on this one and i will keep doing it if the creators make more works.

Dolly Kill Kill: the earth is invaded by the strange monsters that are later dubbed "Dollies", and billions of people die, including the friends of the main character. After this, we get to see the desperate struggle of the humans vs the monsters, and it's portrayed in a way that's very similar to Attack on Titan: while a portion of the people really want to kill all the Dollies, there are others who have given up hope and wish to see coexistence with these monsters. So far, the story is still pretty standard - not to call it a tad generic: the MC undergoes some kindof tragedy - finds a goal in his life (destroy the source of said tragedy) - joins the resistance - gets to fight the monsters. If you've read any kind of "humans vs monsters" story - prominent examples being Attack on Titan and Seraph of the End - then this will all sound very familiar. This familiarity might work out if you're looking for more of the same as the aforementioned series, or if you're new to these kind of stories and it's all still fresh. If none of those 2 goes for you, you might find it a bit boring because of that: DKK doesn't really do anything new, and I don't think it ever really will. Memorability isn't really a factor here either

As for me: I wasn't really bored by it, especially not at the start of the story. Do note, however, that this is a manga best read in batches: it's a weekly series on mangabox, and only 8-10 pages come out every week. Although there isn't really any wasted space, making the pacing okay-ish, it gets a bit tedious to read it weekly.

On a positive note, the manga is quite good at creating a feeling of "suspense", the monsters are scary, and nothing particularly dumb has happened yet either.

The artwork is quite good: the dollies look scary, the fights look good, and there are very few panels that don't look good.

Overall: Recommended for fans of post-apocalyptic, horror and action stories, but nothing memorable - you can give it a try, but you won't miss anything big by not reading it...

So I read the first volume because a friend gave it to me in school and oh man where do i start with this. The art was okay tbh,it wasnt great and it wasnt really bad. The story kinda tried to make a different post-apocalyptic manga.I didnt like it at all.Its just not a good story and i cant take it seriously, this is a comedy manga for me. (also the fuck barriers is this evangelion or what) Oh boy okay the characters...well first off the main character if the biggest bitch ever,I dont remember when a character has irritated me so much, there is nothing good to say abouthim.None of the characters stand out they are just plain edgy teen lords.

As i said i didnt enjoy this manga,I finished it at school just so I can give it back as soon as possible, thats how much i hated this. But hey if you like a story that is trying too hard to be serious and is filled with edgy charas and scenes then go ahead.

So yea overall i hated this :)

tl;dr: A manga that goes in random directions and doesn’t do anything properly. This manga is a hodgepodge of various ideas without any sense of flow or direction to the point that it’s hard to describe the faults of. The initial premise is that the protagonist, Iruma, was an incredibly happy go lucky and determined but otherwise normal high school student. The standard shounen type protagonist that believes that through sheer determination and the powers of friendship that he can do anything, though in his case all that meant was doing well at baseball. However, when mysterious being dubbed Dollies come down from the sky andtrigger an apocalypse, no matter what he does Iruma is unable to save anyone, which completely breaks his spirit and leaves him a shell of his former self.

He’s part of the 1% of humanity that survives, but he wishes he was dead. He helps out a girl named Yuu and ends up joining Trial and Error, a group that’s dedicated to researching the Dollies with the goal of defeating them. At this point it feels like the plot is going to be centered around the group Trial and Error working a in a military like fashion to slowly learn more about the Dollies while also struggling to survive and that Iruma is going to have a character arc centered around him overcoming trauma and regaining his heroic mindset. That would have been interesting, but unfortunately that’s not what happens at all as it quickly abandons that concept.

Despite Iruma being listed as the protagonist of the manga from beginning to end, another character, Kyuujin, starts getting a lot more focus. He’s much more protagonist like, for lack of a better way to phrase it, in that he has supernatural powers that allow him to fight head on with the Dollies and he has the goal of reaching and defeating their leader. And as Kyuujin’s side of the story evolves, it ends up including a full assortment of characters with similar powers and goals and going full on battle manga. The problem though is that none of the cast is all that interesting. It has attempts at character development and relationship development with a couple characters, but they’re pretty rushed and thus it’s hard to get invested which results in the emotional beats not landing all that well. On top of that, while the action does have some good highlights near the end, for the most part it’s pretty weak.

Meanwhile, on Iruma’s side, in what little we see of him, his character is an inconsistent mess. There’s a major fight and minor time skip after which he’s changed completely. He’s no longer depressed at all and acts much more heroically, but under the surface he apparently has some deep darkness to him that allows him to use supernatural abilities as well. Except apparently, he’s always had that in him based on some random flashbacks. So, then his character arc becomes about who he really is and if he’s fine no longer being himself if he gets power in return. But it’s pretty badly written and then in the end transitions to themes about how all the different personalities he’s shown throughout the manga are all parts of him and he should accept himself which really doesn’t follow the previous progression at all.

And then there’s the bizarre love triangle surrounding him. Iruma has had a crush on a girl named Ren since before the Dollies appeared. His goal is to meet up with her. However, Ren is on Kyuujin’s side of the story, and thus they only have a bit of interaction towards the end of the manga. As such, it’s absolutely impossible to get invested in that romance at all. Furthermore, the girl that Iruma saved, Yuu, ends up with a crush on Iruma. They’re together for the whole manga so you’d think this would be developed better, but with Iruma as a whole getting so little focus and with what little time they are shown together having bizarrely frustrating writing, this is impossible to get invested in either.

I suppose that may be a good thing, because ultimately the manga goes nowhere and doesn’t resolve anything. Despite the plot being terribly told, the overarching story and world building are pretty decent. Towards the end of the manga, right after the completion of the previous arc, it’s playing with a bunch of plot threads that felt like they had potential to be pretty interesting. But at that point the manga clearly got axed. Trying to salvage an ending for an axed manga is always difficult, and I especially sympathize with having to do so right at the beginning of a major arc. But the fact is the ending was a terrible non-ending. It doesn’t resolve any plot threads. It doesn’t deal with any relationship aspects. All it really does is try to look cool. Once again, while it is understandable that this is the best that could be done under the circumstances, the ending is still completely unsatisfying and there’s no way of getting around that.

The art was not particularly great. The art style and quality are decent at best and the general design sense isn’t all that good either. Character designs and Dolly designs both felt pretty lacking. It basically felt like a much weaker Magical Girls Apocalypse.

Mangabox has it's fair share of crappy run of the mill mangas, but this one actually stand out as one of the more enjoyable. Even with the kind of generic kawaisploitation theme (that's a conjugating i-adjective mind you) the plot is well written enough to keep your attention through the way-too-short chapters. What I especially enjoy is the pacing and how the mangaka manages to convey the feeling of speed and action to the reader, both through art and storytelling. Since the manga is quite new we can only hope that it won't get drastically axed like a few others promising ones on mangabox. Ohand it's free via the mangabox website or the iOS/android app, the app is actually good once you get the hang of it, so that's a plus too.

This review is in English and Spanish. Esta Review esta en Inglés y Español Well, this is one of the worst mangas i've read Story:2/10 First of all,the story is toó cliché, Your typical post-apocalyptic story that comes out of nowhere,I can pass on to history what does not come from anywhere, if in the end explains,But that does not remove its cliché, in addition, the manga has your typical company that wants to save the world (More cliché, of course). I forgot to mention that it is a plagiarism of Mahou Shoujo of the End.Characters:1/10

My god, it's one of the worst sections of the manga by far,

The protagonist goes from being a whimper to a crazy badass in a few chapters (Damn, he's too edgy), Appears a hikikomori athlete who knows martial arts (In addition to being contradictory, for self-insertion of the viewer), not to mention the girl who knows CASUALLY the band that wants to save the world.

Art:5/10

It's not horrible, but it does not have anything remarkable either,In the average of your typical action, Perhaps the most remarkable is the abuse of dark colors, Because of course, it is an "adult manga"

Enjoyment:1/10

Three words:cliche, pretentious, boring, All this to define this garbage.

Overall:2/10

One of the worst mangas I've read and a complete waste of time, should not read it.

Personajes:1/10

For Dolly Kill Kill, it seems it got axed. Which is a damn shame, because it was a really fun manga. It was visceral, with a lot of grown ass men throwing hands and an ensemble cast of characters that all have their time to shine. At least the last fight in the manga is properly paced and has a cool conclusion that feels earned unlike certain other manga I could name *cough* Magi Toriko Bleach Beezlebub Shaman King *cough* even if you don't get to see the aliens that Madoka was born from do anything except in the last chapter. The MC's power iskinda cliche I guess, edgelord juice is kinda overplayed, but whatever still has some cool visuals due to it. It's only 155 chapters too, so it's easy to sit down and bang out in an afternoon. If the manga wasn't axed, it could have a higher score then it does, but that's how the cookie crumbles I guess.

I confess that I was surprised by the twists and turns, the manga itself at first seems something without any connection and that is not going anywhere, but as the story progresses you start to feel trapped with the plot, just part of a baseless revenge some for incredible battles and development of laudable characters, I must say that even heroes and a beautiful novel has in this story, it is how functional the author managed to use the secondary characters is worthy of applause, I highly recommend a great manga. The story begins a little boring but soon gets hotter, I think the main thingof this manga is how the author uses the secondary characters well, and how he developed a magnificent plot that would make people cry, the rise of a hero and an incredible romance!

Painful reading experience. I think Kurando didn't know about "what readers might care about" when writing this story because when the things readers care about have accumulated and have not been answered, antipathy will naturally appear. "Why is this character still alive?" "Where do these characters' abilities come from?" "Who are these people?""When did the relationship between the two get better?"

"Why should I care about this character?"

These were among the many questions I had while reading this manga. After reading dozens of chapters, I found that Kurando didn't pay attention to these things. Instead, he was constantly trying to introduce new characters to the story.

Using characters I don't care about right now to introduce another batch of characters I don't care about right now. I might care about them in the future, but now why should I spend a few chapters watching two "IDCA" characters fighting for inexplicable reasons?

In conclusion, I don't think "the manga was axed so there isn't enough space to explain the many remaining issues", instead, I believe "there are so many remaining issues that have not been explained as to why the manga was axed." Kurando Yukiaki successfully entered my blacklist with just one manga, congrats.

Ok first of all, everyone saying the art is "bad" "ok" "not unique" is fuxking blind or something cause there's no way they looked at the artstyle, which is without a doubt the strongest point of this manga and called it bad. Just seems like more elitists calling everything but their top 3 trash. Ok into the actual review, this manga is nothing like attack on titan like the others said. It's just an apocalyptic manga, but of course, they have to compare every single thing to their fave because that's their hobby. The mc is your usual high school kid living his life atfirst when bugs start coming out of nowhere and start "spitting" these chemical type of substances at everyone (if I remember correctly it's been years since I read it) and because of this the Mc's friends die but he survives because he was the only one who was in "the safe place" that could protect him from the bugs. His friend's deaths depress him so he becomes a bum for a few years living from the abandoned supermarket to supermarket. At this point, mysterious creatures called dollies have swarmed earth and are killing the remaining humans. How is any of this similar to aot? You could say dollies are like titans but dollies have a mind of their own, some have emotions and some are even capable of holding grudges and can tell humans apart. Plus dollies have a lot of mechanisms going to them, they carry weapons and some have shields even (I can't believe someone in the reviews was mad because they had shields).

Story 8/10

Art 10/10

Character 8/10

Enjoyment 9/10

Overall 9/10

In conclusion, it is a great manga, I just wish it wasn't rushed and axed. The art is absolutely amazing. Would recommend.

first off the story is quite unique and pretty decent imo. It was in no way predictable and the author wrote the start quite well. The art for me was a 7/10 but at times it seemed like the author went super saiyan and dew some godly panels. the manga had potential to be really good however it seems like it got axed, the start and the plot were both amazing ideas but the ending is way too rushed, read it for the story not for then ending. Wish we got to see a more fullfilling ending to this manga

I've never written an actual proper review on here before so... excuse me if this is kind of a messy/not very informative. Let's start off by saying Dolly Kill Kill is easily my favorite manga right now. When I first started it I actually considered dropping it cause the art wasn't entirely for me (which is ironically completely opposite from how I feel now) but I'm so glad I didn't. Story - 8/10 The story is amazing but not too difficult to follow, which is always a good mix. It takes place in an apocalyptic world where creatures known as Dollies take over the world. Afew choice characters, however, have the power to fight back against the Dollies, making up our main cast.

I've seen a few people compare this vaguely to Shingeki no Kyojin, which I can see but honestly... I would take this story/these characters over SNK, It's a lot more unsettling (I mean, the Dollies look like stuffed animals but with the intent to kill... no thanks) and fast paced enough that you don't get bored without anything feeling rushed.

Art - 9/10

Like I said at first the art was a little iffy for me but as the manga progressed, the art improved tremendously to the point I love it now. Maybe it just grew on me, who knows, but it's a very nice style and very fitting for the manga.

Characters - 10/10

Now this is where this manga truly shines. I love every single character. Seriously. And I don't just say that all the time, but each character in DKK has their own unique established personality and I truly care for all of them.

Even the main character, Iruma, who kinda annoyed me at first with his impulsive nature and ~ruled by revenge~ bs and selfishness has developed wonderfully and now I love him just the same as everyone else.

Most of all, I love the three female characters we have and that's... rare for me. Not because I don't want to like female characters but in anime/manga they're usually so trope-y and used merely for fanservice that I just find myself not enjoying them like I want, but in DKK the girls are strong in their own ways and (excluding the very beginning, maybe) never cowardly. That alone deserves a 10/10.

Overall - 9/10

This manga knows what it's doing. It's dark and interesting and knows how to create interesting characters you love right off the bat. I joke about this getting an anime because I would binge that shit but at the same time this manga is so good I wanna preserve that and not let anyone ruin it.

tl;dr: 7/10. Not the most spectacular manga, very tropey shonen iwith a horror backdrop, but a lot of fun with a cool art style, bit of a rushed ending. I was not disappointed by spending my time on this. Entirely spoiler free longer review: I didn't expect to like Dolly Kill Kill as much as I did. The art feels very cartoonish at the start, but the artist does a really good job of adapting it to the genre and making it something you can take seriously. Really the biggest pitfalls with this manga are the plot felt rather rushed at times, and some ofthe larger plot threads of why things are happening like they are feel like they get mentioned and never explored at all. Power levels are ludicrously random and sporadic.

The good things about this: The art is really cool, and I liked the flow of the fight scenes. OVerall, the characters were appropriately developed (i.e., you're not just given backstory immediately before they die and you're not expected to care about the people with little screen time). The supernatural elements I felt were used consistently, and if they were used in a new way I never felt like it was out of left field

Wow this manga is a mess. Art: Not unique. Its a bit like Medaka Box but not as good. Story: Aside from the Dollies, its a pretty generic apocalypse survival story. Seen it done better in some series. The pacing is really fuckin fast. Biggest problem is that its too shounen and it has these really cheesy lines at the end of each chapter. Characters: The MC's writing is a fucking mess. Weirdest way to develop a character. He goes from the Abnoxiousely Hype Sports MC to broody suicidal maniac then to mentally insane edgelord. WTF. Some characters are also written poorly. It like the authour thought up of the personalitiesof each character then realized it was boring and changed to a more confusing one. MAKE UP YOUR MIND

Overall, its a light 7. The only thing keeping it from a 6 or 5 is that each chapter is really short. You can blast through 30 chapters in 1 hour.
