I enjoyed reading Alice 19th very much. The only genre I could think of giving this is Drama, so if you love a good romance then this is the manga for you! ~Story~ I thought the story was pretty good. It certainly wasn't the most amazing manga I've ever read, but it was quite good. This manga obviously has a strong moral about words, and how you should use them for kindness and not rudeness. It follows a girl, whose sister has fallen to the emotional "darkness" of her soul, and needs to be rescued, and the story progresses from there. Also, relationships develop and become quiteapparent.

I think the reason I liked this so much was because it didn't drag on and on about how they love each other and how they need to get together like some manga does. The storyline was always progressing and that kept me entertained, not bored out of my mind.

~Art~

The art was pretty good; it wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing, either. Yu Watase did a nice job portraying the characters and what their current emotion was. Also, when you see a shot of the entire city, it's very pretty and I think the author did a wonderful job. However, if you're looking for manga just based on the art, you might not want to choose Alice 19th, depending on your taste.

~Characters~

I loved the characters for this manga! There was obvious progression of the characters' love interests and traits. I think the author chose perfect characters for this story, as all the characters fit nicely with the storyline. There is Alice, the younger sister who starts out wary of her actions and shy; Mayura, the older sister who is very pretty and gets what she wants when she wants it; Kyo, the handsome male protagonist who helps Alice throughout the story; Nyozeka, the bunny Lotis master that accompanies Alice and Kyo on their mission; Frey, who is a flirty Lotis master that came from Norway to help Alice and Kyo. There are also a few other characters that accompany them towards the end of the story.

~

Overall, I gave this manga a 9 because I thought Yu Watase did a nice job with the story and the romance between the characters. It was an enjoyable manga and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a new, shoujo-ish romance manga to read.

Possibly one of my favorite mangas ever. The best part about it is that they fight with words, and not meaningless magical powers with a bunch of fancy words. It really stresses inner-goodness, and believing in yourself, and having courage. Plus, the characters are beautifully gorgeous, especially the guys! I loved the romance, and I loved how Alice seems like the true underdog of the story, and ends up being on top. The plot is also really good, it's not your traditional plot and will keep you wondering what will happen next! Best parts: When Chris shows up, because he is hilarious; anytime Alice andKyo interact romantically; when Nyozeka makes any sort of comedic appearance (she's not so fun when she is serious); FREY!!!!

Worst parts: Mayura...she's a huge part of the story, but I really don't like her. Alice's devotion to her is kind of annoying, because Mayura just seems so full of herself. I also don't like when the story deals with her dad...it makes me sad and bored at the same time, somehow.

But all in all, it's great, and I would recommend it to anyone!!!!

This is probably one of my favorite (if not my favorite) Yuu Watase work. The story about the power of words is very poignaint, espeically for a shy writer like me. I think this may have some of her most beautiful artwork of any series. I was definetly caught up within the first volume. The only complaint I have is that the ending was rushed and the story could have been expanded more. I really liked the characters introduced at the end and wanted to know more about them. But overall, I highly recommend, especially if one is new to Watase's works. This is agood series to start with before conquering the mammoth Ceres.

The plot was interesting, the characters loveable, the story developed well and I thoroughly enjoyed it! It has a great lesson of how to overcome things in your heart such as hate and I really enjoyed it. Alice was a great character who I can relate to a lot and she was passionate and loveable, as was kyou. I liked Kyou because he played the heroic part well and also showed great courage when fighting for love. The plot about finding the lost word was great and all the other characters were funny and great and Alice's nee-chan was brave in the end.

This was the first manga that I read and I loved loved loved it. I think that it has 3 big points to be just that awesome; 1/ The main idea is brilliant and even though such think as Lotis words don't exist, we can translate that words have a big power in our relationships so we have to be careful before we say anything. 2/The caracters are real; everyone has their own scars and insecurities which make it easier to relate to them. The story is basically about correct a mistake and we can feel our characters' change for good. 3/The art; I love love love YuuWatase's art and you can tell in a second that it's her work. She knows how to bring the fantastic theme and create beautiful scenarios.

I recommend it for people who enjoy stories with a bit of fantastic, romance, drama but with some comedy.
