I don't know if I"m being too generous on this manga or not, but I'll tell you one thing, I've read this manga over and over again and it is awesome xD Why do I like it? The two main characters is outstanding. It's one of those where one person is "I love you but you don't get it so I'll wait" while the other person is "I love this guy buy why can't I accept him?" Basically, it's hard-to-get type xD I also love the art. The proportions, details, backgrounds, and characters are very well drawn. It may be all in the style, but it isportrayed very well =]!

The storyline could be better but it's simple enough to understand and makes the manga a joy to read.

This is among my favorites for Yaoi Manga. It does very well in all catergories of a good manga,

Now when you see what ive rated this manga you will probably think that im being abit too Lenient but honestly this was the first yaoi/shounen ai that i properly thought had a the best storyline ive read in a while. When i first started reading this i was like woah two semes?! I got that idea because they were both really strong characters which i found different from your typical yaoi manga, i found that this was probably one of the things that kept me fixated throughout this whole manga. I personally thought that the art was amazing in this manga and the characters truelyare addictive.

What i like most about this manga is instead of a short storyline type of thing that you see in most one shots etc.. this was a proper story, with actions of both kinds ;)

I throughly enjoyed this manga i found it really amusing with the contrast between characters and awkuard situations i have already recommended this to many friends and all i can say is that if you're looking for an action packed boyxboy love story with some spicy scenes this is definately the thing for you.

This might not be the best manga for some if you don't like the action storyline type of thing, but this manga is really highly recommended.

Lets say it was on my favourites straight after finishing it last week!!

Overall i rated this a 10 obviously if i could go higher than 10 i would do its worth the read and it doesnt rant on its all action and it is possibly one of the most enchanting boyxboy relationship ive ever read about.

It has been awhile since I gave a score of 10 for a manga. Tateno Makoto's Yellow is indeed a masterpiece. The first chapter got me hooked that I continued reading it til the end for a whole day. Every chapter is a must read. Taki and Goh are not your typical uke/seme action couple (where one is weak and often needs a saviour and the other will just appear and be his knight in shining armor )both of them are on equal grounds, both are good looking and they both have good fighting skills (to beat up the bad guys -_^). They started as partners and theirrelationship developed as they spend more time together.

Each character has a story of their own. Goh is openly gay, he flirts and sleeps with other men (part of his job), he often makes a lot of advances towards Taki but doesn't succeed.

Taki on the other hand is straight, and just like any other guy, he likes women, he was hesitant to accept Goh's feelings at first but finally gave in in the end

BOTTOMLINE IS.... I might end up spoiling you guys so better read the manga, its A MUST, I'm happy sequels are coming out, can't get enough of those two.

Yellow is my favourite guyXguy manga series because it breaks the mould by having two strong male characters, and shuns all of the tropes so endemic to the yaoi and BL genres. Yaoi and BL are generally written for female readers, meaning the main character is usually submissive, and there is a concerning rapey trend of non-con or dub-con content. One guy is always super effeminate and gentle, and one is always hyper masculine and way too pushy. You won't find any of those things in Yellow, and that's what I love about it so much. Beyond that, the series has an actual strong storyline separateto the romance, with a lot of action that you don't normally find in yaoi or BL either. It's two dudes kicking-arse, taking names, and building steamy tension in between. I love everything about it, and I wish more authors would write stories like this. <3

This does away with the dumb seme/uke stuff and other gay romance tropes that are written for women (I think this might actually be written as a romance between two people more in seinen/josei genre fusion rather than targeting a specifically gay or female audience). It's just a good story that is mainly romance but is also action. This is a manga with an actual storyline and plot twists. Also it's a story about two guys who are even partners and who grow closer while doing their sometimes fun and sometimes shitty and almost always not fully legal job. The main characters are also reallyhuman and relatable. One is an openly gay man who is also chill and comfortable in his own skin. The other a closeted bisexual who pretends to be straight and overcompensates.
