Reviews for Giri Koi
Back to Manga"This is my first love, but my first love ended with my broken heart." Summary: Mao's had to start fresh when she entered a new school. On her first day she "saved" a first year from being bullied but it turns out Riku wasn't being bullied at all. From that day on he started to call her Prince. She thought they were going to be together until she met his girlfriend.... Each chapter starts with a question anyone that's been in love or has had their heart broken will have asked themselves. Mao's conflicted emotions was the most genuine thing about it. Does she forget him? Can sheforget him?
The characters emotions are it's defining points. Riku is tuck between what he wants and obligation. He feels obligated with Miu. He feels like it's his job to rescue her from everything and everyone all while loving someone else.
Even though it was only eight chapters long, it still had depths to it. And it showed but a glimpse of first love and the long hurtle that it is.
It wasn't believable enough for me, the falling in love. They don't show how falling in love with Riku happened, one page she was meeting him and the next she was already in love? I know they say about about love at first sight but, come on!
]The ending was seriously flawed, I want to believe in miracles and happy ending as much as the next person but it doesn't work that way.
It was short and sweet but at then end, I was :/
It just didn't do it for me.
Mao comes to a new school, saves a boy who then starts calling her "prince". They become really close and the story revolves around their blossoming love. This story was cute, but not really original. The only twist was that she was his "prince" because she came to his rescue when they first met. It was still sweet though, so I enjoyed it. I liked Riku's character, he was optimistic, kind, and out-going, which is usually the girls role in shoujos. It was a good short read, with plenty of drama and some humor mixed in.
Reading it at first, I thought it would be a great story with the kind of girl with a strong personality. But as the first chapter progressed, I found myself dissappointed with her pathetic attitude. I find girls extremely annoying when they cry over petty reasons such as seeing a boy they like with another girl who could possibly be a girlfriend. After the first chapter, I just gave up and dropped the series.
Good gosh, what the heck did I just read? This story is suited for younger girls. There is just no depth within the story and characters. There isn't much character development. The story is simple and predictable. Things aren't explained clearly and I know the author intended it to be like that, but it wasn't hidden well. It is sweet, and the art is wonderful. But the story was so distasteful that I wanted to spit it all back out. Good thing it was short. SPOILER: EVERYTHING WOULD'VE BEEN AVOIDED IF RIKU STEPPED IT UP. GAWD. The characters suck.
