I'm surprised that no one has ever reviewed this manga yet. I don't want to be the bad guy here, but this is one of the WORST MANGA OF ALL TIME. Let me break this down for you guys. To start off, the story talks about a lonely and gullible salary man, who took a random girl in, because she lost her home due to a fire. From there, they start to get closer and closer together, while going through many hardships of everyday life. With a simple slice of life, this manga contains light hearted sex and rape. Plot - 5/10 At a glance, this manga might seem asweet and light hearted manga, which I can related to you guys. The guy, who is obviously stupid and gullible and will do anything to save the girl from harms way, will apparently cause more problems. The girl on the other hand is just stupid throughout the whole story, doing idiotic and impulsive things that you can't just forgive. *Just wait until you read CH 24*

Character - 2/10

In the story, though the character might seem developed, they are definitely not. You are constantly being bombarded with repetitive conflicts, drama and clique events, which obviously will bore you to death. The character, especially the girl, are just so dumb with their actions, that they don't take much initiative to change who they are and how they act. The guy on the other hand is just so dumb, he takes everything that the girl says as true, causing him to appeal as a gullible and dense moron.

Art - 5/10

Nothing special. Just a typical anime, with ecchiness and trivial expressions.

Overall - 2/10

This story may seem interesting from CH 1 - 10. From that point on, everything just spirals down into a heart breaking and repetitive series of stupidity and idiocy. *Read CH 24, you will know what I mean.

REC is a hard manga to review... It really is hard to place why i even like this manga. It definitely has a lot of problems, and it isn't exactly breaking boundaries in an attempt to be original (although its not exactly main stream). But for some reason I can't entirely explain, I do quite enjoy this manga for the most part. The story is a pretty simple man woman affair, only now about a lowly salary worker and a voice actress who is only just starting her career. It really is nothing special, the comedy is pretty decent with a lot of that classic ecchiguy living with girl stuff going on. You'll probably get a few laughs out of it but as always if you expected the story to be good in an romantic comedy then you obviously haven't read enough.

Now the more important part to any story of this sorts, is the characters. And really... the main characters are rather dim. Our hero, Fumihiko, is a guy with a pretty dead end job, who seems to be on a constant quest to get into Aka's panties. Aka on the other hand, is our heroine, and tends to be rather defensive about what she does with Fumihiko, but she at least always tries her best at her profession. Of course we get to find out about the love of these 2 and all the bumps along the way and really at first its hard to root for them. They both seem to be constantly tempted to leave each other, and they always seem to be kinda cheating on each other (but not really... if that makes any sense). But this also seems to work for the story as a whole, it seems every time a guy stops chasing Aka, there's a girl chasing Fumihiko, and it strangely kinda balances the guilt that each other feels out. The love is awkward and kinda strange, but it gives it a much more realistic feel to it that way and as such you start to feel a lot more compassionate about it. The author really does a decent job of showing that they do care for each other most of all, but just have problems showing it, and in a very unsettling way, its kinda heart warming.

Now I really couldn't blame you if you decided to forgo this manga as there is a lot out there that is better than it. The characters are real idiots at times and you feel pissed whenever they start to stray down the wrong path (again), but its this that makes you feel a bit closer to them, and lets you smile a bit when they realize the error of their ways,a and return to the right path. So, for what its worth, I'd actually recommend this manga. Its a very strange thing for me to say as there is a lot of things I do hate about it, but I still keep coming back for more so that's gotta account for something. Try it out if you've got time and who knows, it might surprise ya.

Rec, this manga......... Story I felt scored a 7, if not a 8. The story starts off as you guys know as two people being more than friends but less than lovers. The story is nicely atoned as the two develop their relationship. There are parts where....... ARGHHHHHH. *SPOILER************* Ch24 REALLLY REALLY MADE ME MAD!!! =( . Many say that they "penetrated" but at the same time as many people said that they didn't. I'd really like to believe that they didn't. Anyway the mishap on chapter 24 in any means really strengthened their relationship. ****************************** At the start of the story, I really enjoyed their developmentbut towards the further chapters I felt there was not development in the story or relationship whatsoever. Even though I didn't feel any satisfaction reading the later chapters I still felt that there was something achieved in the plot however.

The art is going to have to be a 7. It really could have been more well thought out as to what kind of character they are. They did a good job portraying Aka and Matsu as a timid sorta and nice gentle girl, ( god dam ch 24) and a middle aged man.

I......... I feel satisfied with being reasured that they are indeed a couple but still ch 24 burns my mind.

The characters in the story are well thought out but their actions don't really portray their real personality. Other than that I don't have much to say.

I really enjoyed reading this manga as they further distinct their relationship and what not but some parts of the anime really tick me off and I really rather if some parts where not added in.

Overall......

the manga is quite enjoyable as you read how two people put the line of where their relationship stands between two people who had sex on the first day they meet. Some parts.... I don't want to stress how bad it was but CH 24 OMG. was really not needed. If it were not in I would bump it up to an 8.

All in all. If you are a fan of a romance/anime I would be unsure to recomend rec because there are parts which make it a good romance but then cancels it back out. If you are easy flowing then by all means read the manga but if you don't like to be stabbed in the soul by the writer then skip chapters 24 and 25.

REC is a relaxed romance manga about a salaryman and a aspiring anime voice actress. There is some comedy, drama, and the manga is a bit mature. Story 6 - The story wasn't very what's the word... PAZZAZZ. Seriously. The story is pretty boring. The biggest jump in the story in my opinion is the fact that these two love birds meet each other after a fire at the girl's apartment. The story is seriously boring. I mean it's not like dead retarded boring. But don't expect to laugh or cry. I basically read this whole thing with a straight face. The one thing that ispretty good about the story is the fact that everything is explained clearly. I didn't feel lost yesterday.

Art 8 - The art was nice. Mature and well colored. Nothing out of the ordinary in terms of style

Character 7 - The characters were somewhat interesting. They acted like actual people. It wasn't anything exaggerated or underplayed. I could honestly see people in this manga really existing in real life. Nice characteristics and I don't really think any of these characters are anything to look down upon.

Enjoyment 7 - I did enjoy it. It was decently entertaining and helped me pass some time during lecture. Very relaxed and enjoyable.

Overall 7 - I finally gave this manga a 7. I did like it but I wouldn't put it at the top of my list. Recommended to anyone looking for a decent manga that isn't going to create too much excitement. It's enjoyable and pretty clear.
