Rina is a beautiful girl who cares little for friends and uses them, believing that since they use her to meet boys, it's alright. Her father is cold, but her mother loves her deeply. However, Rina cares little about her mothers love too. But once she suddenly gets sick and is sent to a hospital, a friend from elementary school appears. She helps Rina understand the meaning of true friendship and together the two girls go through many difficult things together. Dear Friends is one of those manga's that really get to your emotional side. I have to admit, I wasn't looking forward to readingthis. I was bored and somehow just found this. So, I began to read. At first I was a little angry with the main character, but then I began to understand her more. And then...I couldn't stop reading. This manga took me through many stages. It went from annoying, to angry to sad to slightly happy. In the end I came to love it. I recommend this story to anyone who has some spare time and wants to read something that will make you cry. Overall, I give the story a 9.

The art was amazing. I give it a 9 too. It was pleasant to look at and only added to the story. The characters were all well drawn.

As for character development, I'll give that a 9 as well. Seeing as how this story wasn't too long, the author had to make the personalities of the characters clear from the very beginning, and they did that very well.

This manga gives off a good message. It's about friendship, betrayal, and life in general. I really hope you will give it a chance.

This manga really has a series of unfortunate events happening to the main character as well as the others. One minute she's a cold hearted jerk who pretty much goes behind her friends back by sleeping with their fellas and the next she is admitted to hospital because the doctors told her she has breast cancer. Really effin scary man of you think about it. It's just Heart breaking like it's pretty much a wake up call that any one like the characters Rina, Maki and Nasume have to deal with having a deadly illness throughout their daily lives! Yeah I don't want to discuss morebecause man, it is so so sad is all I can say💔💔💔💔💔💔

To say the truth, I do not really remember why I haven’t read this story the first time I was reading Yoshi’s works. As always the story explores the human’s deepest desires and emotions. You should be prepared to face the reality in its harshest and cruelest form available out there. In these four chapters, the author explores death and illness without my second thought. And if you are not ready to have your sanity questioned numerous times just do not take up this work. It might really break you. The story is 4 chapters long and you’ll think how can someone actually encompass anything insuch a short time? You have Yoshi here! An author that shows the ugliness of human nature without any second thought! Is it ugly? Yes, but it is also fascinating, how it makes you wonder if it might have been you in the place of protagonist! So, what’s the story about? Imagine a teenager a very pretty and popular with boys teenager, who lives her life, however, she seems fit: she parties, drinks, smokes, and fools around. But everything changes when one day she faints and is told that she has breast cancer. Yes, that’s how the story starts. What's our heroine going to do? Remember, I described her pretty well. Yes, the denial doesn’t even cover it!

Go through a journey with Rina to find herself and look at the word friendship. Yes, at the very end this story is not about cancer or life and death matter, though it sure is, but it’s about real friendship. How well do you know your friends? Or an even better question: are you sure they are your friends? Explore the tragic life or Rina and Maki, and once you do, ask yourself what would you have done? I hope you’ll find some time to read this fantastic story. Do not take it lightly as it has some issues worth reading carefully!
