Eien no With Story (9/10) Eien no With is a simple story about a simple girl who adopts a dog for year in order to get him acquainted to people to he can be a guide dog for the blind. Despite this incredibly basic concept, Eien no With gives you an emotional ride and is the only anime or manga to bring me to tears and actually cry. It is full of all the emotions we see in life, joy, sorrow, anguish, fear, love, all put into three chapters. Some parts, however, felt just a little rushed and thrown in there with no real prior development, soit almost feels like you're molding this sculpture, and you're almost done, but can't find that last piece to make it perfect, then all of a sudden, WHOOSH, it flies in out of nowhere and makes your sculpture beautiful, without a real explanation. If you ignore that the sudden development happened for no real reason and get past it, you can appreciate that it really added the last, wonderful touch to finish up the story nicely.

Art (8/10)

While I watch more anime by far than I do read manga, and I am no manga critique, I can say that the art in Eien no With was very nice. It wasn't stunning, but it was by no means bad in any way. They're weren't any pages or scenes that made me say, ew, they rushed that, but there also weren't any scenes that made me say, wow! They spent a lot of time on that! Nevertheless, the art was very nice and complimented the storyline and characters well.

Character (7/10)

The characters almost felt completely realistic. The characters almost came to life. Almost. There were just times when they felt rushed and underdeveloped. There were times when they did things that you didn't see it coming, in a bad way, like it came out of nowhere with no real warning or prior development. Other than that complaint, the characters were fairly realistic and I felt for most of them. Of course, my favorite character was the dog, Eye. I loved the relationship between him and Hitomi. It was full of warmth, love, and just so much emotion overall.

Final Thoughts

"Enjoyment" is really a personal opinion which varies from person to person, what one finds enjoyable and likable and what one does not, so I'm not letting that affect my overall score. However, I can safely say that Eien no With was a highly enjoyable, tear-inducing ride. I loved it from beginning to end, partially because I myself have had many pet dogs. I also think that people who have pets, especially dogs, would probably enjoy this more than someone who doesn't. But basically, if you want a story that will make you cry, read Eien no With. I can almost guarantee you will not regret it.

This amazing story about an owner and their dog, will definitely bring you to tears. The characters lives change beautifully thanks to the influence of their dog and it not only shows the love and support through people, but through living creatures as well. Their bonds of love are eternal. I don't ever remember crying so much over a manga before. Any dog owner and lover will enjoy this story which can easily move you heart.

To be honest, I'm don't usually cry when reading, watching, or anything. Even if I did cry for a manga it would be only for one or two parts and I don't cry buckets. This manga is really awesome. I was crying over every page practically. Maybe, it's because of dogs. I love dogs and I love it how the mangaka potrayed humans and dogs in this story. Usually, you may find stories where there is the pet loves the animal the most. It was a very warm story, that"ll always make me smile. The characters are realistic. The main girl is not annoying asmost girls potrayed in other manga.

Eien no With is a bittersweet story of a girl raising a service dog and reuniting with him a couple of years later when he's much older. The story focuses on Hitomi's relationship with Eye and her friends and family so we're able to see how her growth and her acceptance regarding Eye and his age. The art can look a little wonky sometimes but it has that same charm that Nana's art has. It's a good read if you have spare time but it gets very dialogue-heavy by the last chapter to the point where it feels like it drags out a bit andcan get very dramatic.

At this point, I'll talk a bit more regarding the writing and Hitomi as a character so spoilers ahead!

For the first chapter, I enjoyed the way Hitomi dealt with her emotions and it felt like a genuine reaction to a little girl having to part ways with her dog it wasn't exaggerated and it wasn't annoying. It was just a girl and her dog having to simply say "See you later". The real problem with the story in my opinion was by the second chapter as I previously mentioned it became very dramatic and ironically enough I found Hitomi acting very immature for her age almost as if her 20-year-old self swapped places with her 10-year-old self. Hitomi became very stubborn and unreasonable to the point that she contradicted herself. I get that seeing a dog you raised getting along and being happier to see someone else hurts but it doesn't make sense for her to get so upset about it when she said before and still knows everything that service dog does? I would've thought that she also knew that a service dog would be a lot more attached to their employer than the person that raised them but idk I've never been in her position.

As a dog lover, out of all the works related with these lovely creatures that I have read, this has probably been one of the most heart-breaking ones (or maybe I can even say that it has been the most heart-breaking one, although "Stargazing Dog" will always be on the top for me). Three hours ago I knew nothing about its existence, but now, I think I can state that it has become one of my favourite mangas. If you love dogs, are aware of the suffering and sadness that this kind of stories can bring you and you are ok with it, I totallyrecommend it. I'm sure it will make you want to hug your pets stronger than ever.

This guys literally this old skool manga big time hits home, especially if you use to own a dog. Its such a tearjerker manga like its relatable to what the character Hitomi went through in school in regards with finding her own circle of friends and having a dog who really gave her the confidence for her to gain new friends. Well actually in this case, she’s training the dog “Eye” to be a guard dog. She then meets a guy named Hiro who is blind and was the dogs “ actual employer” after Hitomi. If you are a serious animal lover, I would totallyrecommend this manga but I would have to tell you to have lots of tissues by your side. It is a pretty good but very emotional story.
