Reviews for My Kitty and Old Dog
Back to MangaMy Kitty and Old Dog are short stories about pure love that transcends species. It's a heartwarming series that's ideal when you want an escape from the cynical part of the world. It's been a while since I read this series, but I can remember the main character being an old family poodle called Nang-nak and a kitten named Soondae. Many of the chapters are told in their perspective and can be very tearjerking. And I mean it, I truly cried reading some chapters. Their point of view is very innocent, unprejudiced, raw with emotions, and loving. I personally feel amazed that this series managed tokeep itself interesting to read in marathon. Normally slice of life shorts like this can be a bore to read continuously, especially when their purpose is to refresh the readers' minds after a tiring day. My Kitty and Old Dog will in turn keep you wanting for more.
There are more characters as well, like other pets and their humans. Some have funny, silly pet stories to tell, and some have a slice of what keeping pets is like.
The art is storybook-like, clean, simple, borderless, with a warm tone. It's very fitting to the story.
The best part - it's a webcomic! It's free to read on LINE Webtoon (not sponsored! I just happened to read it there.)
Definitely worth your time. Here, have some tissues ready.
This was truly an emotional roller coaster! I just knew that every time I'd read another chapter I'd need a box of tissues as well. From awwws to sobbing this manhwa earned a special spot in my heart. If I wasn't a pet owner I don't think I could relate to it as much but really, even then the art is captivating and cute. Each episode has its own storyline. Nothing out of the ordinary but that's what makes it special. Everyday life that we, pet owners, often get used to but it all comes back to how much we adore and love our pets. This ismore like a pet diary, we can't know what our pets are thinking, but we do bet, and the writer made a masterpiece out of what she might have thought was going on inside the pets' mind.
Even if you don't have a pet, I recommend it at all times. Who knows maybe you'll end up wanting one!
