Title: Magical x Miracle Mangaka: Yuzu Mizutani Years of release: 2002-2006 Volumes: 6 Chapters: 44 Magical x Miracle is about Merleawe,14 who goes to the City to learn Magic, as she arrives she encounters a strange man who begins to cry when he see's her. To top of her current confusion the man says 'Sylth' and picks her up and walks off with her. Merleawe tries crying for help but when the Cities folk start to say ''Hey! Stop, let her go!'' some people whisper ''You idiot! He's---'' In the end it turns out he was taking a confused and scared Merleawe to the castleinside some strange people tell her that she has the exact same face of their wizard master who has been missing. Thus the main story starts.

Overall I think that Magical x Miracle is a good unique story during the course of the story some unpredictable events happen leaving you thinking 'Wow, didn't see that coming!' although the events in the final book are quiet predictable the other 5 volumes make up for it.

The art is defiantly something nice, unlike a lot of Manga it doesn't look like every character is the same person with different hair or eyes. Also the panels are layed out nice and easy to follow which might be good for someone who is new to Manga. During the course of the story the main character Merleawe does get older in volume 6 and you can definatly see changes. In some Manga sometimes it's like huh?!? they changed ages?? Also Merleawe isn't the typical type of heroine, she cries once or twice but they are spread out.

On a negative term some people may find that the story doesn't flow well and it is random also that there was not enough context. It is true that a few thing weren't answered however not enough to spoil the story. I also have heard some people say it isn't realistic in the way that she has the same face as the wizard master (who is male) but it's fiction, there would be no story or anything interesting if there weren't a few unrealistic things.

Overall as a personal score I give Magical x Miracle a 4.5(/5) because it has nice art, it's unique and enjoyable.

As an open view I would rate it 3.5(/5) because a few people find it has no flow, boring also a bit stupid but it has good art and it is unique and a lot of people find it very enjoyable it just depends on your taste.

Sorry if this was a bit of a weak review it is one of the first ones I have ever done.

Plot: The plot is brief and not very memorable. The setting does not quite feel natural and thus can’t be taken very seriously. At the same time it’s a charming and relaxing tale. It tells us to work hard to reach a goal: even if you get compared to geniuses, never give up on studying and succeeding! Merleawe, a young country girl, comes to the big city in order to become a magician. On her very first day she gets “kidnapped” by a man who claims that she looks exactly like their missing head magician. It is redundant to say that she has to play his double. Afew volumes wholly concentrate on how she meets the castle staff and needs to play the role perfectly (more or less successfully). Of course she also communicates with the head magician’s closest staff, a smart man, a gentle man, a child and a childish young man.

While she is quite naïve and mellow and her magic powers are amateurish, she is a brave girl with a fighting spirit. She may cry a few times, but always because of understandable causes.

The story has an obvious beginning and end, even if there are some questions left open.

Art:

It’s shoujo with big eyes and cute characters. It is neither outstanding nor bad, but likeable and easy to follow with very clear lines.

Characters:

Like the plot they are not very memorable. All in all they were a bit too one-sided and not quite 3D. But it was OK.

Overall:

This is one of those fantasy stories that will make your heart warm and your head a bit clearer of dark thoughts! Bereft of confusing elements it is a simple story, true, but those 6 volumes are worth it, especially if you enjoy magic and shoujo.
