High school girl, Natsuki, is an otaku and could care less about anything other than reading manga. While sitting in the park, she's approached by a guy who she believes to be a pervert and reacts by kicking him away, therefore, injuring him. At the hospital, she discovers that he's actually a mangaka (who she happens to be a fan of) and simply wanted to use her as a model for his next manga. So far, it's a pretty good story and has its bit of uniqueness to it. Natsuki is a pretty entertaining character.

"...Yes, just like you, someone with no chest or curves. IT HAS TO BE A SUPER PLAIN GIRL!" HOUKAGO X PONYTAIL is a very cute manga. The protagonist, Natsuki, is a otaku. Instead of buying nice clothes and makeup, she spends her money on manga. Natsuki accidently injures a disheveled looking man (Taichi), that she randomly met on the street. It turns out that he is a shoujo mangaka, lot only that, but Natsuki's favorite author, Ichijou Kiriko. Not only that, but Taichi is actually a really handsome man! Taichi requests Natsuki to be his charactermodel for his new manga. Leading to various events, including a new developed love...?!

HOUKAGO X PONYTAIL has funny moments and moments that will make you do: "aww..." As soon as I finished, all I could think of was that the manga was too short. I really recommend it!

This story is very simple and short - a high school girl and an older man begin their romantic lives...except the story doesn't really focus on that at all. Despite the character's having their defining traits at the beginning, their hardly ever brought up again. The two main characters are the only people that mater within the story and the others are just plot devices that aren't properly fleshed out. Every shoujo cliche is present here and because it is so short, I found it very rushed as well. The only good thing I can say is that the art style is good, but other thanthat, it is quite predictable in every way.

Houkago x Ponytail is a nice and cute shoujo manga that is easy to read. Natsugi, a high school girl who is an otaku, unexpectedly meets a mangaka, Kiritani Taichi that appears to be creepy looking, and injures him! In order to make up for her injury of him, she becomes his character model. After finding out he is her favourite author of shoujo mangas, the manga follows her perspective of day to day life of interacting with Kiritani, some scenes of herself and friends at school, a love rival and development of a new love? The story isn't much different of some other shoujomangas, however there is some uniqueness as it does play with some aspects of romance and humour.

The art is very well done.

Due to the shortage of chapters, there isn't much character development, but you get an insight on their personalities and who they are from the introduction and later on through the manga.

This manga is cute and funny to laugh and smile to. It is very enjoying and quick to read. It's not so much of a manga needing to think deep into, but an entertaining and cute manga. I would definitely recommend for a quick and nice read. It will definitely leave you with a warm happy feeling inside.
