Who would thought traps would be so interesting? Himitsu no Akuma-Chan starts as a ecchi comedy with a premise of a 'magical' girl being summoned by the main character to fulfill his lustful desires. Instead, the summoned succubus turned out to be the same gender, much to Kurosaki's dismay. Cue the comedy and ecchi moments at the right time, and you're sure to have a good time reading Devil-chan. The story starts developing rather at a quick pace and lots of things are thrown into the main character's lap. Spending normal days with a succubus can prove troublesome at times, and the manga delivers the twist infunny and enjoyable proportions. While some aspects are a bit cliched, Himitsu no Akuma-chan keeps the progress of the unlikely pair in a fresh sense that both Kurosaki and Daemon-chan still have the chemistry to keep the story interesting the whole way.

Drawings are nicely portrayed and the artist often uses comedic effects to further emphasize the strange yet somewhat comfortable nature of living with a cute devil in the household. The art varies from beautifully drawn portraits of characters to little funny sketches which add the balance of lightheartedness and severity without spoiling any good moments.

The characters appear unexpected at first, but even the reader can know and familiarize themselves with the lively individuals at normal pace. The progression of the characters never feel rushed or forced as the mangaka adds bits of development while keeping the fun and weird nature Akuma-chan stand out.

Traps might not appeal to everyone, and certainly some can dismiss such a manga for its strange topics, but Himitsu no Akuma-chan is a work that doesn't disappoint halfway along the story nor does it center on too much ecchi to keep the readers at interest. A great read for someone looking for a quirky and memorable comic.

It'll be worth the time spent on reading Devil-chan, so give it a try and find yourself curious about what will happen next in the not-so-normal life with a succubus.

I have always been fascinated with traps. so when I came across this while I was looking for something that I may add on my reading list, I gave it a shot. Story I'll give it an 8. Kurosaki is a pervert that wanted to lose his chastity to an alien, angel or demon.He wished for a red haired demon and he got what he wanted. But he forgot to wish something really important. He got himself a boy! could you believe that? well, you don't read that kind of story everyday. Art for the art I'll give it an 8, Kogure looks so attractive, but i can't saythat for the others. Still, the art is fine, I hate mangas that has a shitty art, no matter how good that manga is, when it have a shitty art, it just won't fire me up. It's safe to say that this manga's art is safe for the reader's eyes to read.

Character

I'll give it an 8. The characters are okay, they don't overly blend in the story. I like the main characters attitude and it suited their roles.

Enjoyment

For this one, I can give it a 9. This story really amuses me, I sometime laughed harder than I should when I read this.

Overall

I guess it's safe to give it an 8. I enjoyed it. If you like light story that involves traps, go give it a shot.

Himitsu no Akuma-chan is a unique lighthearted comedy that's seemingly all service but it also makes you think. It's also slightly lewd(but what isn't these days). The premise is interesting although not really important. The story is really one of coming to terms with your own feelings and developing the ability to judge based on feelings rather than prejudice. This message isn't preached but rather conveyed lightly. The delivery is through the comedy and done extremely well. In my opinion, even if you disregard the message, it is a good read that at the very least will help you pass some time with laughter. Ienjoyed reading and I hope that you will give it a try too.
