Why am I crying so much reading a hentai? Reading this in one sitting had me dead inside for the following month. That manga fucked me up really hard. This is romantic. This is dramatic. This is fucked up beyond anything. This is bittersweet. This is joyful. This is sad. Because I've read it so fast, sometimes I wonder if I should read it again. However, I have reached the conclusion that self-inflicting psychological damages is not the best hobby one can hope for, and as such, I will not read it again. My issue with the ecchis is that they often forget the ''reality''. There's no wayyou wouldn't do anything to a thirsty girl that you're in love with. Meanwhile, other hentais often forget the "dreamy" part of a romance. This manga fixes that in the most epic and heart-breaking way.

This manga has transcended the state of manga, the state of hentai, it's truly something that you don't want to read. Seriously.

"Nozoki Ana" a story about a hole, a boy, a girl and a perverted secret. Nozoki Ana or a peeping hole is one of those stories that are borderline hentai. so if your not of super ecchi manga this might not be to your liking. but this ones a good one with an actual story and with plenty of beautiful women to fit your liking. story:- 9 *This might be somewhat of a spoiler but if your read like the first 1-4 chapters you'll pretty much get the same.* "curiosity killed the cat" could pretty much summaries the basic plot of the story. we get oneof our mains who moves away from his hometown to start a new life, not much of a surprise there. but his new apartment has one thing that's strange, a hole in the wall. he looks into the hole with his friend and sees nothing. but to his curiosity he returns to it for a second helping. To his surprise he finds his neighbor doing what normal people do, sitting down reading a book...no wait ,no she's not she's masturbating! he can't believe his eye, she eventually catches him peeping on her and he freaks out and stops. so what would a normal person do? they would go next door and apologize. He goes next door, keep in mind he does not know anything about his neighbor or what kind of reaction shes going to have to his voyeurous act. the neighbor opens the door and to his surprise this beautiful young women opens the door. he attempt to say he's sorry and but she tries to shut the door before he could say anything. he stops he and falls on her and ends up in a classic ecchi situation. but now this seemingly shy innocent women takes a picture of this and forms a contract with our main, a peeping one. and so the normal life he wanted ends up leaving him. and his new "interesting" life begins. so now kido (our main) will have to do lovely things in order to please emiru(other main) and will find out things about himself that he didn't know.

art- 8

this is actually one of my favorite manga's, do to the art. the eyes i got to say are some of the best drawn that I've seen so far, very erotic :P. facial expression are drawn well and all the women have "nice bodies" and the h scenes are well drawn and well done. the girl's on the other hand look kinda similar to me other than the hair change. the background art is also very nice. but other than that good art overall.

characters- 8

there's basically only two main characters and a whole lot of supporting characters. lets start of with one of my favorite characters of all time Ikuno, Emiru. She is not like most of the girls you read about she is actually pretty perverted and makes kido do certain stuff to make her "happy." but most of the time you can really see the love she has for kido in the situation that both of them get in. Then there's Tatsuhiko, Kido our other main character. hes your typical harem lead. he gets in a lot of ecchi situations. and all the girls love him. But he's actually a decent guy...well sometimes. and last but not least this is a harem after all ill talk about the ladies. this mangas got quite a few women that fall into our mains lap from the childhood friend, to the hot girl in class, to a model. so you get loads of women, though i wouldn't really consider these encounters love... i will also like to add that once there time is through they disappear of the face of the world, i don't know why but that's how it is.

enjoyment- 10

i thoroughly enjoyed this manga pretty much the whole time i was reading it. This story is actually done pretty well compared to some other heavy ecchi mangas. If its not some of the steamy h-scenes its the twist and turns of the story. Some of the drama scenes are actually done well and when things go bad you actually feel bad for the characters.

overall- 9

Usually when you think of this kind of story you think about some old guy staring at young girls and you think gross. But this time it's a girl who starts it and one that you would never think would do such a thing. you get a nice romance story that has a unique style. Nozoki Ana is a definite pick up if you want something new that's not like most other stories.

yes this is my first review by the way. so criticism would be nice.

MOD EDIT: *The review contains spoilers* This manga is very interesting, to that fact that it investigates many issues found in society to depth and allows to you see the more darker and disturbing things in life. However, what makes this manga interesting is that it was somehow able to make this into a semi-comedic manga, with funny quirks in between. This manga is aimed at the seinen bracket, and so those who are weak hearted, i will advise to turn away from this as this story, in all honesty, does depict some of the more horrible and cruel things in life. Story: You probably have alreadyread the synopsis of this manga, so i won't bore you with the fundamental plot. I'm also not going to try and revel any spoilers, as i found that this manga was still a very good overall manga. It shows the more "lecherous" side of humans, and this series contains a lot of heartbreaking moments, and a lot of immoral moments. Ultimately, the male protagonist does end up with the female protagonist, but the obstacles of morality and even love come into play which drags this series along. That being said, the obstacles i mentioned are somewhat sad, as you would expect, but also somewhat immoral, which is why i'd only advise this manga to those who are strong hearted.

Art:

Found the art perfect for this type of mature manga, and it certainly was able to portray the characters in the fashion which they were best portrayed.

Character:

As i said previously, this manga does deal with some of the darker truths in life and so many of the characters could be considered "dark". My main objection with the characterization was that it seemed like the author had forcefully added faults to the characters, as some of the situations and character backgrounds seemed unrealistic, and just plain weird. My other objection is one that really cannot be solved unless i spoil some of the story. However i believe that objection cannot really be solved by anyone apart from the society issues in japan, which probably forced the author to write such a thing (if you want to know more, message me).

Enjoyment:

Despite all the sadness and heartbreaks in the story, i still found every arc of the story enjoyable, in the sense that the author really did prioritize drama in this series, and the way it was portrayed made me very happy.

Therefore, to conclude i would like to say that Nozoki Ana was a very good manga, probably somewhere in my top 10. It defiantly dives into some of the more darker issues and so it does seem somewhat darkish. But if you have time on your hands, and you wish to feel your heart ache then mend again, read all 117 chapters, and i promise you that you wouldn't regret it

Art & Story: Honna, Wakou Tag: Drama,Ecchi,Romance,School,Seinen Story 10/10 Wow this manga,it's a must for any otaku that loves a mature, capricious narrative. If you are an ecchiologist, this is a sweet manga, filled with detail that often draws you in and is amazing top to bottom. Kido Tatsuhiko(lucky bastard) moved to Tokyo to attend art school and starts his new life as an art student.Unknown to him, in his new room, there’s a small peep hole in his wall.(Which is centre of the manga).

As at first, he can see nothing through the small hole, but one night, through the peeping hole, he accidently saw a girl pleasuring herself. (Oh ya,xd)

Her name ikuno, A goddess among men, who to me is more like,if you got a yandere and a tsundere to breed and you had a voyuer addicted hot daughter.

And that’s how his new life starts, letting the drama, ecchi love unfold as kido grews as a person in his new life. And understands his feels in the most unexpected of ways.

Its has a sweet anime OVA by the way, which plays like japanese drama with a faithful ecchi art style.

Am not much of a drama manga maniac but, this one is swift and its story did sway me in its themetical stance, with its balanced blend of deep plot and ecchi romance.

And anyone who looking for a good amount of chapters to burn through with a lovable story to enjoy and have an awesome read this one is for you.

Art 10/10

Gentle and seinen in nature with just a dash of ecchi to admire.just enough to make the story come alive.

Ecchi filled,no doubt and its pretty much a "real talk" style, smooth like jazz.

You will enjoy and hv a eyeful because"plot plot plot" can kinda be its the mantra at times in the manga.

From each of the bodious babes to the adult/lust romance scenes that are deep, ever voyaging meaning to the broader plot line and to be fair, its not just gratiutious. That makes this manga lovable.

So Honna Wakou thumbs up to you

Cast 10/10

Everyone was developed quiet well, ya am point blank.Every characters mix well enough to make a sweet symphony of ecchi, romance and drama and keep it in harmony.

And that's is why its a good story,Everything just compliments everything, the twists, turns.kido and ikuno, the tension, the plot, the love, hate, ero moments, the side charaters, the passion and poetry all just have an "ero grace" to the story all together

Enjoyment 10/10

It will make you say:

"I most certainly love it,bless the gods of ero!!!"

You will breeze through all the chapters and you will want, want more.

And Ikuno with touch your soul..

Overall 10 Nosebleeds

Well,No shit xd,but I would make it 11,this kinda manga makes being an otaku, just as sweet.

And ikuno is now my waifu.Sweet sweet ikuno.

Am not ashamed to say,I just got a emotional boner.

"Nozoki Ana" is a decent adult style romance drama that's has copious amounts of hentai scenes and overall good writing but suffers from a main protagonist who is an insufferable wimp and emotional/psychological overtones that are frankly immature and incomprehensible. The problem is actually quite simple - The mangaka could not figure out a way to draw out the romance between the two leads without having them act like idiots. Okay, mostly it's the male lead acting like an idiot, but veteran manga readers will know exactly what I'm talking about. That being said, it's not all bad. There are some parts that are interesting, butthere are also a lot of parts that are pointless sex scenes in terms of plot and frankly kind of boring for their "h content". If you're going to have a pointless sex scene, at least make it good, right?

If you can stomach a male lead that is probably the pinnacle of the typical shonen wuss protagonist, and I'm not saying this lightly, he's a complete waste, then you might get a decent amount of enjoyment out of this manga - but chances are you'll probably be perplexed at phenomena as to why he can't seemingly shove a 80lb japanese girl off him, or how he has the inability to say things like "Hey, get away from me!"

Honest to god don't know how this manga is so positively reviewed. I enjoyed Aku no Hana, i enjoyed Sundome, i enjoyed Forget Me Not but this manga was an absolute travesty. This is literally 90 chapters of the MC wondering why the girl next door is masturbating to him having sex with his girlfriend, her literally saying i love you, you make me wet, i want you... and then when she moves out hes on the floor crying " I LOVED YOU MAIN HEROINE..." :v The following 20 chapters are the tragic background story of the main heroine that we didn't get untilnow. Thats right we spent 90 chapters with a girl that we know absolutely nothing about, no hints, no nothing. :D

The whole theme of the manga is "to show your true self" but ironically enough we don't learn a single thing about the main heroine until an info dump in the early 100s.

The manga is is only 117 chapters long.

The sex the MC has with his girlfriends are pleasurable to look at and his 2nd girlfriend is treated like trash as the MC wonders if he likes his girlfriend or likes the all to convenient female next door that masturbates to his presence.

I should've known that the manga wasn't for me from the start...

literally every relationship is initiated by the female meeting the MC and instantly wanting to fuck him. The MC is so wishy washy that whenever he sticks his penis into a female he instantly just forgets everything around him and instantly "loves" them.

The word love is thrown around alot in this manga. Meet a girl and bang her up for a night is an act of love. Finger the girl next door in a closet while you watch your friends have sex is an act of love.

I was literally reading this manga just to see if it ended like sundome... with the MC getting cucked... that would've been a fucking troll as fuck ending but instead we get a final volume that has like 60 pages of forplay talk.... like im talking just kissing and talking... for DAMN NEAR 60 PAGES.

and then a time skip because we needed to fill more pages with more needless exposition. And then it ends... no grand finale or anything... it just sorta ends...

Point me to a manga that has a dude beating his meat to a girl by watching her have sex with her boyfriend and find that "romantic" and give it 10/10 - 9.5/10 ratings and maybe i will update this review... but for now... This manga is a waste of time :D

"I become stronger just by having you next to me -- I believe that even now" - Kido Tatsuhiko Iv'e never in my life witnessed a manga that has captivated me, astounded me, and brought me to my knees just as Nozoki Ana did chapter by chapter. Manga such as this is the soul reason of why I even have the patience to write a review. This manga is special is so many ways that this review can't even do it justice, let alone explain how much this manga changed the foundation of why I read manga and watch anime altogether. I hope this review bringsyou insight and gives you the wisdom needed to discover exactly what lies behind that "peephole" and shed some light to why you should "peep" this manga out for yourself.

Story: Nozoki Ana begins with our main protagonist Kido Tasuhiko who is a art student currently enrolled at his vocational/technical school for the arts. The synopsis sums up the main exposition of the story but it's what happens after that truly catches my undivided attention. Pure emotions, heartbreak, betrayal, love, revenge, courage, and honor are words that describe not only the manga but what I felt as this manga grabbed me, threw me across the room, and proceeded to stomp on my heart page by page. Don't let the cute colorful cover of this manga deceive what you're about to read because this manga has it dark dramatic moments that have you screaming throughout the story. It's these key moments of drama and intensity that make this manga absolutely breathtaking to read. You mix these dramatic moments with a bit of comedy, a lot and I mean A LOT of romance, and a dash of cruel intentions what you get is a manga that is pure enjoyment. It's a story of constant faults and mistakes, a story of love and regret, and a story that will grab your attention as you contentiously discover new things every chapter.

Characters: Personally I would argue that Nozoki Ana has many great characters that can be analyzed, dissected, and discussed for hours; however, for the sake of your time I will be discussing the 2 most important characters that drive the story forward and captivate readers for their unique personalities, traits, and yes... fetishes. Let's begin with Kido Tatsuhiko, Kido-kun is a person who I like to call... "Mr. Showtime" He's a very average 18 year-old young man who is tries to make a living for himself as a art student. He's the center of all attention and throughout the manga many girls are attracted to Kido-kun's charm calling him "sincere", "caring", and "funny". Many of the girls Kido-kun talks to honestly would do anything just to spend a night with him and YES.... the girls LITERALLY drop their pants without moments hesitation but of course many of these moments don't go without justification. As the story moves forward you start to see how Kido-kun changes and we can't address this change without the person who changed it for him and this leads us to our second lead.... Ikuno Emiru. Ohhh Emiru-chan... where to begin... Emiru is a "unique" character that has many different quirks that make her my favorite character of the whole series. Let me just say this, Emiru-chan is indeed a pervert but in a good way, she likes to "handle her business" by looking through a hole in the wall but that shouldn't be the main trait that defines who Emiru is. Emiru is SOOO clever in how she handles everyday situations if she puts her mind to it anything with her is possible. She is very strong minded and courageous, she gets put in situations where I would just give up and cry and turns them to her favor. Lastly, she is VERY VERY Caring, she is one of the sweetest girls I have ever witnessed and will do anything to make sure that you always have a person to talk to or a shoulder to cry on. These two characters are foundation of why this manga is so fantastic, it's a constant push and pull with these characters that generate waves of excitement, tears, and frustration that can only be achieved through their "special" relationship.

Art: Let's begin by saying this, Nozoki Ana is a manga that can be quite "heavy" in a sense that there is a lot of nudism involved where every other chapter illustrates naked bodies to truly set the overall tone and feel of the manga. After a couple chapters I personally got used to the nudism and just admired the story as a whole using the nudism as an advantage rather than a poor excuse for "fan service". The Nudism is what brings character to the art style and just brings a sense of realism to what the manga has to offer. You start to get a feel for just how unique the style is and like I said it will eventually fade away the more you read it and if anything bring more passion to what you are reading. Overall they did a solid job with the art style, great character designs, and stunning backdrops and scenery.

Nozoki Ana is a manga that I wish many people took a bit more seriously. The genre "ecchi" can do 1 of 2 things, it can either draw in people, or repel people and that is something I truly wish wouldn't happen. Many people look at this with the mindset of "OH... it's a ecchi manga... only perverts would read that" or "the cover looks super girly and childish.... I'll skip this....." but I beg you..... Please consider checking this manga out. I'm trying to make a valid point here that this manga is amazing from start to finish it took me on a emotional roller coaster that very few manga can do and it showed me that there are precious gems out there such as this one. It's pure entertainment from start to finish and as you read chapter by chapter you will discover on your own that on the other side of the "peephole" is not just some generic boring manga.... No... it is beautiful story that is worth much much more... than what it is.

Nozoki Ana/A Peephole is one of those things that you come to because you're horny then stay because you fell in love with the story. In my case, that's my exact experience. Nozoki Ana doesn't have a complicated plot, yet it's not like the other ecchi - it has a nuanced story that had me depressed for days after finishing it, I cried at the sad scenes, I smiled at the cute scenes, then the end had me laughing with joy, and then emptiness. The story of Tatsuhiko Kido and his weird neighbour Ikuno Emiru is, at first glance, bland, but as you go onyou start to feel more and more that these two relate well making their ending sensical.

As you could probably tell: I love Nozoki Ana and I would recommend anyone and everyone to read it, but personally I wouldn't reread it because the flow of emotions I went through with this story ruined me.

I have to admit. I came to read this manga just for the love story and the sex sence but I received much better then I expected. In the good way. Well.. First review so its going to be shorter then you all think. How to recap this manga in one word? Traps. Traps everywhere. Story: 8/10 Well. Im sure all of you come to this manga for the erotic sence right? So, you can expect much more then a sex sence. The story is really good and can be understood if you all read it with an opend mind.

Art: 9/10

I can say this manga is a real art and the guy who write this manga is a real genius! Full of drama, love stories, college life and even action if I can add.

Character: 6/10

The Characters was pretty fine for me. Nothing more, nothing less.

But, you can expect some real cute girls and some pervert guys.

Enjoyment: 10/10

And its keeping that way! I can say I absolutely Enjoy by reading this. It never make me bored to read this manga and every time it gave me a new twist to the story it was even improved!

Overall: 10/10

I actually recommend it to all the guys who is looking for some serious love story and great drama. However, if love stories are not your type so this manga is not for you.

Storyline - 10: So you got a girl who seems to have a fetish for watching others through a hole and an unlucky neighbor who is blackmailed into becoming her sideshows in exchange for watching her back and you get to experience their relationship blossom as the guy tries to experience his own love life whilst having to keep this one girls antics in the back of his mind...This on paper is perhaps on the most sexual explicit manga you might watch but there is something that makes it different but you can simply say it in any review. If you aren't a fan ofecchi stuff this may not be for you but if you are then you may know what i mean by this in the sense that the erotic and ecchi elements of this manga dont seem to be forced or there for the sake of being there instead it all seems 'natural' like this is meant to be here, this scene has been coming for a while and all that and because of that the storyline becomes something special and highly enjoyable.

Artwork - 9: I am not saying that artwork is bad, in fact i love it because the detail in the characters are absolutely incredible and how they managed to make so many girls look just so beautiful wether in outfits, swimwear and of course, naked is why i love this manga so much.

Character - 9: I dont think i need to say anymore than Emiru here, she is beautiful with a twisted sense of humor, has nothing to hide and is not affraid to admit she has a perverted side to her, when it comes to female characters if she isnt in the top 20 of any anime character of all time then theres a probably with the list i say.

Enjoyment - 9: Absolutely...You may pick this up for the nudity but i honestly believe you will read on for the twists, the story and comedy that is in this manga, as I said before this manga takes the whole ecchi genre to a new level where even those who hate ecchi may actually like this simply because its not full in your face but more "oh look a nude scene now back to the story".

Overall - 9: Ok i really did wanna give this a 10 but i wouldnt say its quite perfect but in terms of entertainment, ecchi, characters, comedy and art there are very few manga out there that are as good as Nozoki ana!!

Dont forget to catch the series of this when it is realised sometime this year..its going to be great :D

[Spoiling content free but will set some flags] There isn't another story I've read so far that has made me rub my head as hard as I've had than Nozoki Ana. I am sorry for not seeing this through to the end but I really can't and don't want to read another page any time soon, and I'm going to explain why with this review. Nozoki Ana isn't an average ecchi or rather, hentai manga. The author seems to have the plot thought out well and it was fairly engaging, originally. For the first 40 or so chapters (about half of all I've read), I was ableto occasionally predict how the major events would turn out and I think this is mostly due to the main character - Kido being somewhat easy to relate. I felt for him, our emotions were in tune and we both saw exactly where he had made bad decisions. That's all good because I find this synchronisation enjoyable, as if I'm in his mind.

Up to this point, the Story is fair. As I've mentioned before, it was sad to watch his mistakes unfold into disasters but there's always some comforting at the end. The characters are fine, I could relate to Kido's thoughts. His friends are lacking in presence but can easily be overlooked anyway. The center is always Kido, his peeping neighbour (unpredictably troublesome) and his love/sex interest (always lovable). So far it's enjoyable and I've spent whatever free time I have to continue reading.

From somewhere in chapter 40-50 to beyond, the story brighten up well and it really dragged me into it further. Tears of joy were shedded, for an ecchi manga. I was so glad to be reading this. I was loving it, so very much. Whether it's the story where problems were satisfyingly resolved or the relationship between the characters being strengthen.

However, however, I really really regret reading past around chapter 75-80. Maybe I should've read some reviews before I read the manga but I didn't. If you haven't read past those chapters yet, I beg you to please stop around here. Sorry, I might just be reflecting too much of my own dread into this review but if you are not too well versed with dread, please do not read past chapter 80. I'm going to start explaining without revealing too much now.

To me, it felt like the author, changed. Kido's thought process became different. I couldn't grasp the reason of his decisions. I was, desynchronised from him and from that, I started to lose the story. And then, it headed further down south. As I've hinted before, I was very connected to the story just before and at this point, it's as if the author yanked all of it away from me and flung me out of the story like an extreme rollercoaster suddenly decided to derail from its sharpest turn, with me on it. Maybe I can also liken this to a heartbreak but it happened so quickly my heart was disintegrated without a speck of trace. Not to veer to far off, the author suddenly added a lot of plot devices in a span of too few chapters. And this broke me and my engagement to the story. Chapter 75-80.

My rating for the STORY dropped to 3, surely they still follow a logical order, AFTER an illogical turn.

ART remained somewhat consistent throughout all I've read, about an 8. It's a different style to other mangas. I think it made facial expressions more easily exaggerated but still acceptable and more importantly still enjoyable. They do sometimes look odd. As for the art of body-drawing, I have no complaints.

CHARACTERS at this point was disappointing, a 3 or 4. As said before, Kido started making too much illogical choices, his peeping neighbour remained consistent and his current love interest remained very lovable. The center is at Kido and the point of view has always been him. Therefore, his relationship with others is the main determinating factor of my score here, and at this point, his relationship with other major characters was overly problematic and could've been avoided.

ENJOYMENT dropped of course, 1 is fitting. I HATE the turn the author had made for the story. I might never continue where I left off. I am sad and I want to cry when I think about it. I once had a month long of nightmares from watching 2 horror movies and I'd rather have that than to ever be reminded of how this manga took a wrong turn.

OVERALL, for the whole manga that I've read, 5. I've always been indecisive and I'm soft on giving low scores but I also didn't finish this story. I don't like unfinished stories but to have me not want to finish one, this is a first. I'm sorry, Kido and I'm sorry Emiru but I can't. Nozoki Ana started off with decent speed, rarely slowing down, then took off and reached a paradise that I enjoyed every moment of. But illogically, it then decided to teleport into the nothingness of space. The sudden change suffocated me, to death.

Chapter 75-80.

Man did this manga really rip me up after reading it. I read the whole thing in one sitting about 8 hours and it was almost perfect. The characters where all absolutely pristine and the art style and drawing where top notch. The story was very confusing at first but at the end all of my questions where wrapped up into a nice little box of thoughts that left me thinking about the story for days. For a hentai which I normally never read this book had meshedding tears all throughout with all the 180's the book was pulling when you thing you understood it the manga flipped it on its head and surprised you. I would recommend this to anyone who is into plot heavy manga or ecchi hentai. 9/10

Nozoki Ana is an attempt to write non-porn by someone who has terminal pornbrain. It tries to do mature sex psychological story, but forgot to make the character non-porn characters. The story is absurdly prolonged, goes in cycles and most importantly is infuriating to read. It’s terrible people doing bad things. But not entertainingly terrible people nor original bad things, no delving into darkness of human being. This is no Inio Asano, we’re dealing with Harlequin level of writing, perhaps worse. The main flaw is that the author, and by extent the story, don’t seem to realize that the protagonist is actually the bad personin those situations. But let’s introduce the guy first – his defining character is that almost all of the chicks he meets want to bang him, and will bang him. Other character traits? No. Why do they want to bang him? Some vague reason how he’s nice and honest – neither of which is shown to be true, yet the story will still keep pretending that it is really true. Of course, that’s not to say he’s some bad boy that gets mistaken for a good guy – he’s quite pathetic actually. No aura, no rizz, yet most of the manga is about how much he gets to cheat on his current gf.

So what’s the conflict? Well, the poor guy can’t really decide which of the girls he should keep fucking. Look, sometimes he even manages to not fuck someone immediately, or sometimes he even cuts off the affair after some time. What a paragon of purity this dude is. He pats himself on back how thoughtful he is, not even realizing how much of his actions already count as cheating anyway. Then he gets surprised when he’s the one cheated on? Has a full on mental breakdown? „I lost everything“, he shouts as if dude doesn’t have bunch of other girls aiming for his dick. Well, he gets better after he fucks another girl, so that’s all good right. Truly stellar writing so far. Look, I wouldn’t be so harsh if this was literal porn, but since the manga decided to be a seinen romance drama instead of going the full way and being published in an 18+ magazine, I’ll be judging it accordingly to that decision.

In the last third of the manga MC really acts like a piece of shit, though describing it further might be a bit too spoilerish and I wouldn’t want to ruin the surprise of disappointment for you. Let me just say that the only reason the manga might manage to pull off the illusion of being the better guy is that his rivals in romance are a literal rapist at the start and a psychopath later. The more I keep thinking about the story the more absurd the framing of the characters actions is, it makes me wonder if the author is unskilled at writing or just actually doesn’t realize how shitty people the characters are, deceived by the veil of goon. Like for fucks sake the story literally attempts to portray fucking on top of a grave, a hardcore NTR staple, as an emotional touching moment.

And not to forget that multiple plotlines are unresolved, characters just disappear after serving as the next cumdump for the magically attractive despite being pathetic protagonist fuckboy.

Damn this was a frustrating read.

This was a good manga to come back and visit, and it's still in my top 10. There was a lot of highs and lows, but that's to be expected. I enjoyed that this manga really made everyone feel realistic. I also liked that it left things unresolved like with Kido and Madoka reconciling and becoming friends. I'd like to think that eventually at some point down the road, Kido, Madoka, and Emiru all made up and became friends again. I'm gonna go ahead and assume that Yonegawa and Makiko tied the knot because let's be honest they both deserve happiness and I think theyhad good chemistry with one another to where a romance between the two down the road is plausible.

I WISH we did get an explanation as to why Emiru left for a year the way she did and what she was doing during that time. (Wouldv'e been nice if she actually had a kid that was both hers and Kido's. I imagine they would have a son.) Again it was a fun read, but prepare for everything.

A shame we won't know what happens after this, and while it's not the best ending, it's definitely a happy one and that's good enough for me. I'll assume that the two would eventually wed and have a son who they raise happily together.

Story: 8 ; Art: 7 ; Character: 7 ; Enjoy: 8 ; Overall: 8

Did I recommend it? Yeah. But if you're soft hearted person who can't handle this sinful action, you better run, hide your kids, hide your wife.(just be careful in N8R) And i will say that my heart is undergoing some very painful things and i want to punch a wall, and hug someone all at the same time.

*SPOILER ALERT* The leading heroine is basically a manipulative rapist. Of course, the main character didn't seem to notice and the almighty plot armor protected her. *END SPOILER* Let's start this review with the manga's problems. The concept is pretty standard for a mature manga: stupid boy finds conveniently placed peephole and proceeds to use it to peep on his neighbor who, surprise, surprise, is attractive, female, AND his classmate. But that's alright. I don't expect realism in my porn. In it's entirety, the plot wasn't at all bad, and much better than 90% of all ecchi/hentai/adult/whatever manga that has been written. Problem lies completely with Emiru. FUCK EMIRU. Sheis a horrible character! I don't care what caused her to be so fucked up, because she is probably the worst leading manga heroine in the adult genre. Hell, I'd say she is the worst. I'm not going to go into many details, but let's just say the manga would have been much shorter and filled with less bullshit if she never existed. I genuinely liked Kido, but him being attracted to Emiru made me hate him.

To be perfectly blunt, Emiru is a rapist. AND LET ME TELL YOU WHY. For those who have read the manga, please imagine everything gender reversed. Yeah, now her actions are no longer adorably psychotic and sexy... they are downright rapey and manipulative. Just imagine the firestorm this novel would have had if that were the situation. I doubt it would have even been published. Male Emiru would have been dragged to jail and hopefully castrated for his actions. It's utterly disgusting to think about. And before you say: "But that's how ecchi/adult/hentai/porn/whatever is!" It's not. I've read a LOT of the genre and let me tell you, the mangaka never has to force fan service using Emiru's detestable methods. If you don't want to imagine it gender swapped, just imagine what the story would have been like if Emiru was ugly. That's right! Kido probably would have never put up with Emiru's assholery. Oh, and don't get me started on her shit personality. Since I think I've bitched about Emiru enough, I'll be short: that stupid sometimes sweet sometimes cold personality is the worst.

Now then, as an adult manga, Nozoki Ana is, without a doubt, one of the best. The protagonist and many of his friends (except Emiru) were likeable and the story (when Emiru wasn't involved) was refreshing. I can say the lovely art is what delayed me from ultimately putting the manga down. After some point, however, Emiru became too much of an annoyance for me, so I never finished it. I do have a vague knowledge of what happened after the point I stopped reading, and I can say that I'm glad I didn't waste my time finishing it.

**TLDR version**

This has to be one of my favorites ever. When I tell you the amount of emotions you feel when reading this, it's just that you can't put into words. The amount of realism put into a character's thinking is amazing. I don't want to spoil anything but this is something you should sit down, grab something to eat, and just immerse in. You'll immediately fall in love after the first chapter. While reading this you'll feel joy, frustration, pain, and satisfaction at the most. Just an amazing story. The MC isn't the bland and dense type. He thinks about his decisions, a lot. Butthe thing is that with the amount of pressure that is put on him, he's not sure what to do. And about the main girl, it takes some time to to fall for her as well. But that is why we have major character development. This is a major key factor in this manga, character development is beautiful. So pretty much I highly suggest this anyone who's into Romance. It's also very ecchi so you get something else out of it as well, but that is part of real life lol. There IS an anime to this, but it's only an OVA so I have not bothered watching it since and OVA can only show so much. So I hope you guys take up on this manga.

Nozomi Ana is the best romance manga I have ever read. I found the OVA on a hentai website. After watching it for a few minutes, I was so interested in the story that I forgot what I had been supposed to do (if you know what I mean :D). When finding out that the anime is actually an adaptation of a manga, I immediately searched for it. Plot: 10/10 Nozomi Ana’s plot is so addictive that I could not help reading all the chapters in one day. The OVA is equivalent to about the first 25 chapters of the manga and it seems to be anordinary romance/ecchi/school anime at first. Nevertheless, after reading some chapters, my attitude to it changed dramatically. It is drama, somewhat psychological and even tragic near the end of the story. Throughout the plot, I experienced different emotions: happiness, sadness, bitterness, surprise, anger and sympathy as if I were the male protagonist. Characters’ thoughts and feelings are expressed fully and naturally, especially the Kido’s emotions when he realized his love towards Emiru.

The manga is not only a touching story about love, but it is also about friendship. Loyal friends never abandon us even if we hurt them emotionally. In contrast, the dark nature of a human can turn a person who used to be our friend into an enemy. This aspect makes the manga even more fascinating.

Although ecchi is what attracted me to this manga at first, it somehow ruins the plot to my mind. If there were less ecchi scenes, the manga would be better.

To be frank, romance anime/manga had never been my cup of tea. Even if I read/watched a manga/anime that happens to have romance as one of its genres, I was not really into the romantic part. However, Nozomi Ana changed my mind and became the first romance manga that I was interested in. It made me feel like having someone to love and to be loved.

Character: 9/10

Although Kido is indecisive and insecure, he become more grown-up throughout the story. It is actually his characteristics that make Emiru’s tricks more fun. From my point of view, growing-up protagonists are better than those who are badass and perfect at first.

Emiru is kinda mysterious even till the end of the story. What I love the most is the complexity of her personality. She might seem cold-hearted and disgusting at first, but she shows her caring side when the plot progresses. She even takes the blame to protect her dearest, to make sure that he is happy with his love. If I were a girl, I must have cried for her.

Art: 8/10

It is not too bad. I have no comments about it.

Overall: 9/10

Try reading it because it is a decent manga.

Ps: Sorry for any mistake in the review because I do not come from an English-speaking country. To be honest, this is the first time I write a review about a manga. I finished it two days ago, but its plot still lingers in my mind. Therefore, I write this review hoping to stop obsessing about it.

Ok, thoughts on this one.... To start off with.. this series contains a lot of adult content, so I do recommend a mature audience for this one as the content contains strong sexual content, strong language and some violence. That being said... definitely worth the read as the story is gripping. I found myself stumbling upon this series by chance and only intended to check out a few chapters and give a casual read through.. however, I found myself hooked the minute I picked it up. The story of a college student, his neighbor, and friends.. it has it all, romance, comedy, Intense moments thatwill have you sitting upright frantically wanting to know what happens next. It will trigger the feels for some and be an emotional roller coaster ride for others.

The series its fairly long and I believe the manga is ongoing, and they featured an hour long OVA with it as well. I recommend reading through before watching the OVA first to avoid spoilers. I enjoyed it so much that I could see myself re-reading it more than once. Go check it out =)
