Cute manga is cute. There’s no other way to describe it. Like other slice of life, seinen manga about a group of high school girls, the story is as simple as it gets. If you leave it like that, chances are the manga will become really shallow, or maybe even drab, so you’ll have to make up for it by making it special in another way. In A Channel’s case, that is accomplished by having really cute characters. A Channel’s characters are your usual, cookie cutter moeblobs drawn in the same style we see a lot in recent seinen anime and manga, except with a little moredetail. The four main characters are Nagi, the voice of reason of the group, who slips now and then. Yuuko, the shy, innocent girl with the dynamite body. Run, the blonde clumsy airhead. Finally, Tooru, the short and silent tsundere. Though not the most original set of characters, they are all still likable. My personal favorite is Tooru.

You might find yourself remembering Lucky Star or Azumanga Daioh while reading this manga, because just like in those two, the story in A Channel progresses as the four girls go through their daily routine, experiencing common activities and events in a high schooler’s life. The manga is also in a 4-koma format, so each story ends quickly and doesn’t drag on.

Even though it is listed as a comedy, from what I’ve read so far I don’t think it’s that funny. As I was reading the first 12 chapters, I only found myself chuckling once. Either it’s not funny enough or I’m just hard to please. Still, I do think that it’s worth reading.

If you’re a fan of Lucky Star or Azumanga Daioh or slice of life, seinen manga or anime in general, then A Channel should not be missed.

Story-8: Like I said in the review for the anime series, the manga version of A Channel is a relatively light-hearted story, following the lives of four teenage girls going through high-school life and finding the humor in everyday life, now this kind of story can be found in other 4-koma series like Lucky Star and Azumanga Daioh, so if you enjoy those series, you'll love this as well, like with some other series of this type, there is a small amount of character development but that character development seems to be more evident in the manga instead of the anime version, but theanime adds an air of drama around the series that the manga just can't convey.

Art-8: The art style is good, but I can't help but feel that something is missing...Maybe it's the fact that I saw the anime before reading the manga, but one positive note is that the manga's characters are how should I put it?...Softer then the anime versions, like they are more elegant-looking then in the anime version.

Character-9: The characters are the same in the manga version, but the manga seems to extend their backstories a little bit more then the anime does, and in the manga, those little funny moments seem to be funnier then they normally are in the anime, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying either. The characters are all fun and enjoyable in their own way, but it's strange, in the anime, my favorite character is Tooru but in the manga, my favorite character is Run, I can't explain why...^^;

Enjoyment-9: I have to say, I really enjoy 4-koma series like this, the stories are all short and easy to follow and don't drag like some other slice of life series tend to do, A Channel was a very fun series to watch and read, and the manga offers some more material that the anime doesn't have, and I would recommend the manga for those who like reading the manga more then watching the anime version of a series.

Overall-8: Overall, this series is very enjoyable! It's easy to read, fun, cute, all the elements that the anime series has as well as that slightly more graceful look to the characters that the anime seems to leave out. I would highly recommend this series to anyone who loves slice of life series, 4-koma series or Omake series, or cute seinen series, like Chi's Sweet home, or Lucky Star, or Azumanga Diaoh, if you don't like that there isn't much character development or excitement in a series then you may not enjoy this but i would definitely give this a try!

A-Channel simply put is a slice of life coupled with school life manga revolving around 4 girls. Though the synopsis is simple it does have to offer a lot and is a light and at the same time a very fun manga to read. Story 7/10 The Story is mainly about 4 girls and also the characters revolving around them.The characters are fairly well written considering this is a 4-koma.Besides the main 4 girls there are a lot of fun characters you are gonna love in this manga as there are quite few in terms of their sensei,friends and parents.In a nutshell there are a lot ofmoe characters in this who you would love to read again and again.

The art is kept simple and subtle and goes very well with the story.No qualms about this aspect in any manner.

There are some really enjoyable characters in this who would give you that fell good effect.

From cute to sexy to downright hilarious the characters really do well in standing out with their unique traits.

Though this is more a 7 than a 8 but the 1 extra is the moe factor this manga pull's through very well.The main 4 especially are really cute and funny.

If you are in to read a light-hearted manga with funny and at time downright hilarious characters this is a manga for you.
