Reviews for See Me After Class
Back to MangaThis extremely ecchi series had me laughing from the very first page and going back and forth from chuckling pretty hard to blushing frequently. The story itself is so ridiculous that it lends itself to being funny on that merit alone. Most of the time I found myself saying, “this is absurd!” but that’s what made the story all the more entertaining. Artwork is quite good, but paneling can be confusing in some parts and I found myself reading a page over again once I discovered the flow of thought so that conversations made more sense. Everything was crisp and character detail was something I expectfrom manga artists these days.
One thing that people may have found distasteful would be the personality of Kakinozaka-sensei and I would have to agree. Her absurd behavior made me think of her as less of a teacher and probably more of a student or at the very least a dorm-mother. He character became less annoying as time went on, but initially I did not care for her much. Outside of that, character mannerisms were always humorous and really set the stage for how this series will flesh out as a memorable harem in my book. (please marry me Kotomi-chan!) At one point you have Yuki pretending to be a girl, pretending to be a boy, dressing like a girl to cover the fact that he’s a guy. I was laughing pretty hard.
As always, one thing that concerns me about ecchi series is how ridiculous breast sizes get and this series is no different. While I do enjoy a good pair of breasts, I’ve always been turned off by the sometimes grotesquely large breasts women have in series like this, but to each his own I suppose.
In short, Asa Made Jugyou Chu! is pretty much soft porn with a pretty ridiculous and humorous story line.
Well... for an Ecchi Harem Romance, Slice of (School)Life, Comedy Manga... (god please forgive me to say all these Genres at once) It was actually enjoyable. The Story could have been WAY more serious and interesting, and still funny. but i guess the comedic effect of an unserious Ecchi wouldn't be the same, iff the story would have been actually a bit serious. Tho, i liked the idea of a guy, who is forced to life in the Girls Dorm. (I immeditly graved for something like this, but less to no ecchi and... 95% seriousness) I actually couldn't say, that i disliked the Art. Itwas very good for me, so yeah.
The Characters were all the typical Harem-Type... but well... i can't say there weren't a shy one, since technically the Protag was the shy one, but still.. Eh. Was okay i guess?
Since it always was so ridiculous, i had to laugh more than i should have... (Kinda emberassing tbh.) So i actually enjoyed the Manga way more than i thought i will, with all the Ecchi scenes. But ironicaly that is what it made so funny. It also may be, becouse i haven't read any Harem, nor Ecchi for like years, but i realy enjoyed reading it. Everytime you knew "Oh, Yeah, it will get only worse from here..." and as soon it happends you have to laugh and think "LOL, i was right HAHA!" That is what keept me going to read everything, even tho i said "NO, i will stop here at Chapter 1-7" (can't remember which chapter it actually was)
I would recommend reading it alone tho... since... SO MUCH ECCHINESS.
Ecchi factor is 10/10 and since the comedy is based of the Ecchi-factor... it is also very good!
Just the Story could have been a bit better...
If I could have divided the score: The first 18-25 chapters are a solid 7 for an ecchi series. The rest are 3 at best. I really like the first two volumes; The premise of staying undercover works super well for an ecchi. The ending of some chapters really left me hanging. The art is very clean and beautiful, though not unique. So, what happened? The story ignored its premise.
Some of the chapters became 2 pages which didn't move the plot nor the PLOT.
Some backstory is added just for the sake of being added; It doesn't get acknowledged.
Certain things just repeat themselves but aren't improved.
The ending just happens, it's not satisfying.
Overall, just stop reading before it changes to real garbage.
I wasn't sure what to expect on this one, it has a genderbender theme which I don't usually read. So I read with an open mind, I liked some parts but unfortunately I didn't manage to fully like it toward the end. So for one reason or another it took me almost 2 years finishing reading this manga, even though it's very short, also the chapters are short (there was one with only 3 pages). I'll be more detailed below. Story: 5 Let's talk about the story, it's the same as the synopsis says, which is good that it follows throught it. However there isn't much to lookforward to after that, the Main Character (MC) meets with each girl, there's some funny moments, ecchi, some absurd scenes, more ecchi, some "embarrasing" moments and also did I mentioned the ecchi? yes, that's right, this manga is 95% ecchi and the rest I guess is comedy.
The plot progression is almost non existent, you could read the synopsis, maybe read the chapters in which the characters make their first appearance and finish with the last 2 chapters and call it a day.
To be honest I think I made the mistake of taking this story half-serious, because this manga doesn't even have an ounce of seriousness. At frst it seems to make some sense, like the reason for MC's genderbending but it kept on getting more absurd and unnecesary to do so after the first chapters. Also the ecchi is over the top, and don't get me wrong, i like ecchi (i mean DXD is one of my favourites) but the amount here is just suffocating. There was a scene where they (the main characters) were before the principal, perfectly clothed and all, but one panel later their clothes were invisible(?) what the actual f- *hmmp* sorry it's just the logic is beyond absurd.
Not all is wrong with this manga there are some good points (there was even a chapter wth background story for a certain character which i liked), but that will be ahead of this section because the story and plot it's just mediocre.
Art: 8
Nothing to complain here, it is pretty detailed as an ecchi must be, there's some "borderline" hentai scenes also included, though the scenes are often mild or below and usually we see the characters nude or semi-nude be it on the bathroom, the bedroom, an "absurd" scene or just because as the example I gave on the story section (lol).
Characters: 6
They are fine (i guess?). The MC has the mind of a 5 year old, no kidding, there was a flashback with his childhood friend where he indeed had 5 years old but i didn't find a difference with his current high school personality and he barely knows the differences between a man and a woman so imagine how good that is for a harem manga (hint: not much). But he's more like the cute type so I would say it's fine in the end.
About the girls, they are also good enough though generic, they are pretty and have good "assets". Just the personality of one of them I didn't like, she was acting like she was the master of the MC and even getting as far as making him crossdress when it wasn't necessary, for me that sounds rude and humiliating, but like I said maybe I took it too seriously.
Enjoyment: 6
Well the story just wasn't there but I did laught on many moments and begrudgingly accepted the leaps of logic it sometimes made. I appreciate that level of ecchiness but I would appreciate it more if the frequency of ecchi moments per chapter could be decreased a little and add progression to the plot (especially romance side) and characters, but I did enjoy it especially on the first half although towards the end feels (and is) rushed.
For those who want to read it I have to make a WARNING, the end of the story is rushed it feels as if the publisher suddenly decided to axe the manga and they give a chance for the creator on finish his story with just 2 chapters, I mean the end is good (not great but good) but it got from 0 to 100 just in those chapters. If it wasn't for this my overall score would be 7 instead of 6.
If you have that in mind and don't care much about the story (also note it has crossdressing in it) then you can enjoy the comedy and ecchi of this series.
