Story: 7/10 Simply put, Wife and Wife is just about our two protagonists, Sumi and Kina who recently started living together as a couple. We simply get an insight into their everyday life and experience events like buying a bed together, going on a short trip or just meeting up with some friends. It doesn’t sound like much, but all their adorable flirting really makes each and every chapter very enjoyable, and there sure is a lot of flirting going on~ Characters: 8/10 After the two main characters are introduced, we get to know a few more characters, such as Kina’s twin sister Kanana, some of her potential love interests,as well as Sumi and Kina’s new neighbors.

Funnily, all characters are lesbians, both main and side-characters, no exceptions.

So yeah, it feels a little weird, since this makes it look a little ridiculous, but for us yuri fans this is of course a most welcomed setting.

I mostly enjoyed each and every one of the girls, even though I feel like many of them were not properly introduced to us. I also often caught myself hoping to just read about Sumi and Kina alone, instead of having loads of other characters around.

You see, whenever the two are alone, they are just so cute together, flirting with each other like there’s no tomorrow that I simply don’t want others to interfere.

Art: 7/10

The only thing that I probably didn’t enjoy, is the dialects the characters use. It would most likely feel a little different in Japanese, but since I read the English translation, it often sounded weird, at least to me. In some cases their dialects even ruined some nice and heartwarming moments, but this luckily only happened once or twice, so it’s fine.

Total Enjoyment: 9/10

All in all “Wife and Wife” is a nice read, but nothing more.

It has some nice comedy, cute yuri characters and just a very relaxing and fun story.

However, if you’re looking for a hilarious manga, this might not be to your liking. Also, if you’re looking for a really romantic manga, then this is yet again not what you’re looking for.

It’s a mix between romance and comedy, but it doesn’t take anything all that seriously.

So I guess, if you haven’t read “Wife and Wife yet and have nothing better to do, then why not give this one a try?

Fu-fu is a manga serialised in Comic Yuri Hime S. It was written by Minamoto Hisanari, a man who also contributed to Kantai Collection & Di Gi Charat anthologies. I happened to stumble upon it and decided I'd review it for all of you. Story: Two young ladies, Sumi and Kinana, move in together in order to live as wives. The manga covers their daily lives as they enjoy their relationship and encounter other quirky lesbians, including Kina's sister and the couple next door. This one s really light on the story. There's a definite order to the events, but the chapters are mostly fluffy,cutesy romance with some comedic elements. Overall, both elements are pretty solid. The romance is largely really adorable and most of the humour does work well. There are some strong lines of dialogue as well. Just don't expect anything beyond those two elements. I do appreciate that they subvert the abusive relationship comedic trope by having a girl who play hits her partner while making it clear that she doesn't actually hurt her but I also think it gets over-used to the point where it loses its impact.

Characters:

The series has pretty basic characters. They aren't basic to the point of being archetypical but they aren't incredibly complex either. In spite of that, the cast works well for what the series is doing and there are some strong interactions among the characters. Not just the romantic banter, either. There's some good stuff between the siblings and with several other characters who aren't romantically linked.

Art:

The art is mostly decent. I will say that Minamoto is really good at drawing animals. I will also give him credit for keeping things classy and not delving into fan-service. However, he is also pretty lazy at drawing backgrounds. A lot of the panels don't bother having them or they'll have something very basic. The manga also suffers a bit from characters who look really similar to each other, and not just the twins.

Ho-yay:

There's a heavy emphasis on flirtation and the girls getting cuddly with one another. You know that they're doing more than that beyond closed doors, but the most you ever actually see are some kisses.

Final Thoughts:

This manga is pretty good. It's a quick, entertaining read with lots of cute moments and some really funny ones. If you're looking for something light and fluffy, this may very well be the romance for you. I give it a 7/10.

“Wife and Wife” is a Slice-of-Life Comedy that focuses on the innocent and flirtatious hijinks of the titular couple Suu and Kina, as well as their woman-loving-woman community. “Wife and Wife” does not necessarily stand out as a Slice-of-Life piece; It is not uniquely grounded in fantasy or reality, its pacing is unremarkable, it isn’t especially funny, and it doesn’t bring a new perspective to the outside world or draw you in with its characters more than other Slice-of-Life pieces I’ve interacted with. That being said, if you have seen the other reviews I’ve done so far, you can imagine why I experience it assuch a novelty and relief to find a Yuri piece so unconcerned with despair, realism, or fetishization. Where many Yuri Dramas insist on acceptance for same gender attraction on the basis of how much one is willing to suffer for love, “Wife and Wife” presents a pre-existing, simple, and joyous love between two women as proof enough that such couples should (and do) exist. “Wife and Wife” was by many measures average, but I still couldn’t help but be charmed by its belief in love in many forms. I would love to see more works by this author in the future, and I hope there will be more comedy entries in the Yuri genre.

This is a slice of life with tiny sprinkles of comedy and romance. Fu-fu is just boring. The romance is saturated with slice of life/comedy so nothing feels serious enough for me to enjoy. The comedy elements just aren't funny. So all your left with is a boring slice of life manga. There pretty much isn't a story and none of the characters stand out to me. The art is a little dated but not bad. Overall i would recommend giving this manga a pass, it's readable but quite boring Side note, the one english translation i found for this manga i didn't enjoy at all.I really don't like being able to read an accent, and they make it annoyingly present in the translation. Not sure if the original is like this as well, but it really took the enjoyment out of it on top of all it's other flaws. here's a quote so you get the idea. 'After all, ain' love jus' really likin' someone?' Everyone talks like this throughout the entire manga.
