Mucha Kucha Daisuki starts off just fine. With a kiss between a country girl and a guy from Tokyo. That's pretty much where it stops being fine and goes on to being pretty much disastrous. I'm a sucker for shoujo mangas. I admit it. I don't mind your usual passive girl, and a tough cool guy jumping through panels to save her. As long as the characters are consistent and likable, and the art is good, I don't mind that it lacks in realism. The main female character in Mucha Kucha Daisuki is a moron. I mean, she must be, because she gets played around like anidiot and everything has to be explained to her. The author attempted to use her rural origin as an excuse for her being clueless, but she only succeeded in insulting girls of rural origin.

The main male character is tolerable, but the fact that he's in love with such a useless girl it renders him as useless as she is.

The 'bad' guy who comes between our protagonists has no character whatsoever. In three volumes of this manga he does not develop one. He just goes around being an asshole. His actions are completely arbitrary, especially because we don't get to see that he likes Aoi.

There's no chemistry in this manga. Even Shimaki Ako's art could not save this one.
