6.0/10 Objectively speaking, this manga is absolute dogsh*t. In fact, this may have one of the worst depictions for a traumatized mc, and the plot is literally just a clusterf*ck of events, like it was written by a twelve year old. Yet, the author accidentally made the manga so bad that it reached the point of interesting — it’s just a natural human desire of curiosity on which tropes and absurdities the author can somehow add onto this story. But once that feeling fades away, and you take this manga for what it actually is, you realize once again that you’re reading trash. Now let meget into the specifics on why this is so bad:

The plot looked decently promising in the beginning with the fmc being so crazy and her shenanigans, but as the story progressed, more and more plot holes appeared. Everything literally happens instantaneously, and it’s all so incredibly convenient for the mc and fmc.

That’s not even getting into the worst part, as when I say the plot is random and dumb, it is random and dumb. Some of the wildest situations happen in this manga with little to no backing or explanation besides for the author probably writing this one night while he was drunk and wrote the wildest scenarios because it popped into his head.

You thought the plot was bad? No, the characters became the reflection of the plot, as it’s somehow worse. Once the fmc utters a word about what is going to happen — shocker, it happens. It’s almost like the fmc is actually just a projection of the author in a manga, and she doesn’t even feel real because of it. She is quite literally just a plot device personified. Every other character is also pushed to the extreme — you need a bad guy? Let’s make him really antagonistic-ly bad for no reason at all. Quite literally, everyone is just braindead besides for the omniscient fmc.

Now with how much of a mess this manga was, I can’t lie and say it wasn’t enjoyable for a little bit. It reached the territory of “it’s so bad that it’s good,” and the only reason why I dropped it was because it felt like a huge time waster. If you truly want to read a trainwreck then by all means, but it is in no way an objectively “good” manga.

(I only read as many chapters as I did because a review said it got better. Well, I guess? I don’t know, it got “worse” with the more random events but it sort of made it fun.)

Well damn, this manga is a contender for being one of the more extreme takes When a man has nothing to lose, he will resort to anything even at the cost of his character. That's basically who the MC is, the guy was about to give up on life when the other female MC declared him to give his life to her. At first, i thought it was too kinky originally, but the story keeps on increasing to larger scales by how radical the main characters can get Twisted Romance pushed to the very limits, and who knows if the word romance can even be applied here

The start was absurd and stupid enough to get me interested. A boy who is planning to roblox oof himself gets convinced to become a complete puppet for a girl (Kubaru) instead. Kubaru's motive is that she's bored with her own life, so she wants to have fun by controlling someone else. I honestly wanted to know where this was going. For several chapters, I was still interested because the first 3-4 characters they introduced were weird enough. I expected something simple like Kubaru telling the MC to do insane stuff, but apparently, the authors would rather set up completely ridiculous subplots. The events afterthe start became too contrived, random, and stupid. This manga tries to sell to me that Kubaru is capable of convincing people to do anything just by talking to them unconvincingly for 15 minutes. It was already stupid how the main character was being controlled, but at least I can pretend it's because he was suicidal anyway. Doing it to normal people is too silly, and I can't suspend my disbelief there.

In other aspects, it's not good either. The writing and dialogue are complete dogshit. The art style is passable. The story is going nowhere. The romance subplot is incoherent and poorly written. Chainsaw Man had a way better depiction of a parasocial relationship.

(Light spoiler warning for Paragraph 3) -- This manga genuinely screws with your head. Is it your typical romance story? Not at all—but that’s exactly what makes it so unique. You could say it’s something to read when you’re bored and want to kill some time, but honestly, it feels like so much more than that. The writing itself isn’t anything special, and the characters’ decisions are often ridiculous or just plain dumb, but somehow, it still feels like a breath of fresh air after wading through dozens of romance manga and anime full of the same cliché main characters and recycled plotlines (and yes, the inevitablebeach episode, too).

Kubaru, the fmc, doesn’t just mess with the mc's emotions—she messes with yours, too. If you’re coming into this expecting a sweet, fluffy romance, you're going to leave feeling pretty crushed. If you're the type of person who can handle wanting to punch your monitor after Kubaru rejects Yuuto for the 50th time, or if you don’t mind gritting your teeth while she kisses someone else right in front of him, then hey—go for it.

But if you’re more into shows like Toradora or My Dress-Up Darling, you might want to give this one a pass. It’s definitely not that kinda story.
