10 stars!!!!! From tears of sadness to tears of happiness. I was really take aback with the events of the first 2 chapters that I thought how much can it get bad from there. But I was also surprised to see the author's approach to healing and moving on. Then we see them all grown up, with the one who still felt remorseful for not being able to save the other, while the other has finally lived a life he has wished all his life - the freedom and happiness. When they met at that wine shop and started spending more time together, that's when thefloodgates of my tears have opened, and it keep pouring from there. Their story is so sad yet hopeful. It was such a beautiful piece that I thought they were real. I wished them eternal happiness.

P.S I have so many screenshots from this manga because the panels and dialogues were so beautiful.

This manga is deeply sad and beautifully written, with a tragic plot that really pulls at the heartstrings. I felt so horrible for Shiraki, poor kid, and he’s the only character I truly connected with. I just wanted to give him a hug. That said, I think the story would have benefited from a slower pace and more depth. While the events themselves are objectively heartbreaking, they happen so quickly that I couldn’t fully engage with most of the cast. For example, Kurokawa’s decision to run away from home after a single conversation with Shiraki, where he learns Shiraki was forced into child prostitution, felt abruptand unearned. Up until then, Kurokawa had never shown much care for Shiraki, and he supposedly has five siblings at home he really loves. The way this plot point was presented felt rushed, making the dynamic between Shiraki and Kurokawa seem thrown together rather than developed.

Overall, it’s a touching and tragic read, but I wish it had taken more time to build its characters and relationships so their choices felt as powerful as the events themselves.

It’s been a while since I’ve read something that moved me this much. The story is interesting and keeps you on your toes waiting to see what’s going to happen next. It’s very depressing tbh and I think I needed a bit more fluff at the end to patch some of the wounds the rest of the story left, and also, I’m a curious person, I love details, and I feel like I’d have liked a bit more detail on some parts; but it’s a great read nonetheless. I enjoyed the art style very much, it’s nice to look at for sure, and nice artis always appreciated in manga for sure.

Recommended if you don’t mind emotional stories and the next TWs: rape, abuse, neglect, violence, forced prostitution
