Reviews for The Broken Ring: This Marriage Will Fail Anyway
Back to MangaThis manhwa is just amazing. I've read tons of manwhas of this genre but this is without any kind of doubs one of the best otome isekai I've ever come across. The main reason I decided to give this manwha a shot is its art and the only thing I can say about this matter is that it's astonishing. All the characters are amazingly drawn and the amotions are really well portrayed. The story is pretty good and entertaining. Furthermore, it adresses very interesting topics (even if some of them could be delicate to some people) so you could consider it a plus. The characters, both the MLand the FL, are very realistic and well written. It's true that at first they may not seem very likeable but further in the story you can find out why they behave the way they do.
Absolutely worth reading.
(Looking forward to S2 ^^)
This is one of my favourite manhwa, especially from the "villainess" / aristocracy genre, whatever you want to call it. It takes a very refreshing spin with a somewhat spanish inspired setting instead of the ever present english high nobility and the characters, especially the female MC, actually look the part instead of having pink hair or something like that. While not a no-go for me, a pinch of authenticity is very appreciated. What drew me in initially was the art in general, which is of very high quality. No matter the setting or emotions through facial expressions, are beautifully conveyed. The story doesn'tshy away from pretty difficult topics, if you have issues with depictions of (sexual) violence or self-harm it may not be for you! But there is a warning in front of every chapter.
All I can say is that it takes these issues seriously and doesn't just use them for cheap impact, but for serious character motivation.
Also refreshing is the courage to not just shy away from the topic of sex in general.
And as this was THE main reason for the nobility to marry and produce an heir, as well as just an important part of any relationship.
To be fair, it maybe goes a bit far sometimes, but there is a censored version which keeps the most "intense" action out.
It seriously brakes my immersion so hard though, with so many of these stories when they just want the fancy dresses and tea parties, but take nothing of the actual motivations from the time period or general human habits into account.
Really looking forward to how the story develops from here on out.
The story is okay, actually, nothing amazing, it is pretty much a slice of life, nothing truly happens for the most part. The art is beautiful as almost all manhwa are, but what truly shines in this one are the characters. Character development is truly amazing here. Not only it managed to make me keep reading a archetype that I am totally tired of, but it also managed to make me crazy about it. I think I will look for more stories like these, lol. I don't like writing spoilers on reviews, but believe me when I say: I am quite hard to please, and Ididn't even like this genre. But this one pleased me very much. But maybe it isn't for you if you aren't able to deal with some dark topics. It is not a dark story, it is a love one, but dark things are portrayed somewhat often, so I the only people I don't recommend this to are those who have a weak heart.
I will give the story a 9/10. It is simple, but it doesn't need to be any more complex than it is.
The art is 8/10. Beautiful, but beauty is common place in most manhwa.
Characters are 10/10.
And enjoyment would be 9,5/10.
My first review ever because this manhwa is a masterpiece. I can't believe how much I was captivated by the story of Ines and Carcel. I even cried (tears came to my eyes) at some moments of the interaction between the two, especially when Carcel expresses himself in front of Ines. Simply a masterpiece. Read it while you still can in this life, because in the second you may forget everything. The artstyle was a 10/10 (so good). The character designs are very good especially for Ines and Carcel. It's clear that the artist put a lot of effort into it. The story kept me captivated andmade me want to continue the story further. I hope this manhwa continues until the end so I can see the end of a wonderful story. 🥰
This manhwa was absolutely above the majority of other manhwas I've read. Not only is the character development of both Ines and Carcel just amazing and heart wrenching but watching Ines change is one of the best character developments I've read in a LONG time. The art is stunning even more so than some other Manhwas I've read and the story feels thick. Yes it can be 'slow' but there is so much to unpack that it never feels static. There are some very deep and real topics discussed that I think really make the characters pop. While the topics can be disturbing and vile, itoverall makes you feel even better when the characters start to 'win'.
My only gripe is that some of the chapters are very explicit and really only feel like fan service, I don't think there was much reason to add those chapters but I think some sites will omit those chapters are add a duplicate chapter with those scenes so you can avoid it if wanted.
Overall I would HIGHLY recommend this Manhwa and personally give it a 9.5/10
> Man suddenly became a whipped, clingy golden retriever husband after getting married. Cute. >“You remind me of the mermaid. Perhaps its because I love you. I must love you enough that I am willing to drown. I love you so much that I can hardly breathe. Sometimes, I love you so much that I become a bumbling fool. And perhaps its also because you don’t love me at all” 💔 > Chapter 44: Im actually crying so much after reading how highly Raul thinks of Ines. After hearing the butler insult his mistress in front of him, he then preceded to explain how much valueshe added to his life and even said she was like a god to him. 😭 The fact that this isnt even a romantic connection between them, makes it even more meaningful.
“ Faulty? The speck of dust on her shoulder is worth more than your entire being”
> “Its okay if you don’t love me anymore. Its okay if you dont love me that much. If you dont think of me the way I think of you, I just have to be ahead of the others. Just a little more, as it is now. I want you to treat me more privately. I’ll be satisfied with that. Just care about me, Ines.”
> Chapter 49: Ines is eating this butler up. This scene is incredibly BADASS. And all she had to use is her words. Damn son!
“Him? Show ME mercy? I am not Carcel’s maid. I am his wife. I am also the daughter of Duke Valeztena. Therefore, he has no right to ever show me such a thing.”
> “I want you to care about me more. Just a little bit more please. I wont dare ask for your love.”
He’s so pathetic. Gimme more!
> Ines’ first gift to hubby was a dead fox. He was so happy lolz.
> He says “cute” to everything she does. This couple is adorable.
>Carcel’s letter was so sweet 😢
“The way you smiled at me felt like I was staring straight at the sun at its highest peak above the ocean. And as you rushed over to me, all the stars in the universe might as well have been spilling over me. The moment I hugged you, I became the richest man in the world.”
>Latter chapters are getting confusing ngl
