I don't want to make you convinced whether it's good, average or bad series. Go read it and check out if it's something you are interested in. My "review" has in mind to inform you what to expect from the series, not how to feel about it. Overall execution isn't bad and art is definitely the biggest highlight of the series (as of now). Though I lost any hope for this series to have any semblance of identity. (I'd like to be proven wrong with future chapters) It's basically CSM/Tokyo Ghoul knockoff, without adding anything new/non-mainstream (or at least making same things but with better/similar quality). I can't seeit as anything else than combining two most popular seinen titles for easy buck.

Chainsaw Man:

- MC merging with his dying friend/friends to gain superpowers

- MC losing control and becomes the strongest Monster in the franchise, as it seems (they called him "King of Succubus")

- MC wants an average life (eating burgers etc.)

- Change MC's hair color and I'd be fooled it's Denji

- A lot of characters wearing suits

- A lot of strong female characters

- Makima

Tokyo Ghoul:

- "Succubus" could be called "demons" and nothing would change if they were. Just like "Ghouls" in "Tokyo Ghoul"

- Known by demon hunters "demons" are named in similar manner to Tokyo Ghoul

- Demon Hunters use similar weapons to those in "Tokyo Ghoul"

- Artstyle was definitely mostly inspired by Tokyo Ghoul

Both:

- MC is half monster, half human

- MC joins "demon" hunting organization

(though these two are general manga tropes)

For the first 10-20 chapters it wasn't really clear where the manga wanted to go, but it really found it's footing afterwards. It is probably most closely related to chainsaw man in terms of the main character, and especially tokyo ghoul with the way the succubus are portrayed. I think the main and strongest side of this manga (after the first 20 chapters or so) are the insane power systems based on blood, really good, really creative, and really well done. The fights were enough to easily keep me reading until chapter 100 (latest chapter at time of review). I enjoyed this manga for what it is,which is basically a brutal shounen battle - style manga with a really good power system and constantly improving artstyle.
