Reviews for The Celestial Returned from Hell

Disappointing series since it had a very strong start, but it turns into filler nonsense in later chapters. The dark humor and mystery in the beginning is what originally got me interested, but by chapter 100 I'm completely checked out. The story fizzles out to nothing. The fights have no buildup whatsoever. MC basically just turns into superman going from place to place punching bad guys. There is zero logic to anything. Based on the drop in quality, I think it's obvious the author has no intention of ever finishing the story, and they are simply waiting for it to get cancelled.

It's fine, but it's like a jump in free fall, it starts high and from there it's just loss. The hell arc (ca 30 chaps) at the beg. is nice, it got me hooked. And I love the returnee trope, so I got even more hooked when he got back on earth after tens of thousands years in hell (tho only a few decades had passed on earth). It's cool how he slowly got attention and rose in the ranks. But at some point it got stale and didn't go up anymore. I dropped at 200+ and I was just bored as f. since a long while. What I pity. Theauthor seems more interested in dragging and milking, than in good storytelling.

Anyway, I'd still recommend it because it's imo better than other returnee stories and most readers have more forgiving tastes than me.
