This is your basic power fantasy manhwa with good art. Story: 6/10 The usual 'video game becomes reality' type story with little to stand out. But that necessarily isn't that big of a drawback for readers who enjoy these types of stories (me). The lore/quests of the videogame are satisfactory enough. Art: 7/10 The art is great, that is probably the reason I still keep up with this manhwa. The action paneling is well done. The character designs of major characters are very basic though. Character: 6/10 I don't dislike our MC, nor do I really like him tbh. The rest of the characters are built on cliches, albeit beingsatisfactory for the plot.

Enjoyment: 8/10

For someone who enjoys these types of stories, this was really enjoyable to read, but I hope the story takes a unique turn so that it can distinguish itself from the plethora of other similar manhwa.

Not an unique story, it pretty much feels like a mashup of Omniscient Reader & Solo Levelling. The author is here for showing us how the MC is so OP and badass and nothing more. The only driving factor which let me read this manhwa is the art, which is by red-ice studio. If you have not read a lot of korean manhwa's then you might love this one, but if you have already read plethora of them then you might not enjoy it fully because of the following conserns • MC knows everything about the game, being it a well know game would have been betterif other players also developed in a similar way, but only MC knows all the hidden details which no one knows.

• The skill MC possess is kinda a cheat skill. he bacisallly copies the skills of opponents and techinically becomes OP, which kills the fun

• MC is arrogant and on top of that no other side character is developed for 100+ chapters, its no fun reading a story which revolves only around MC who is arrogant and copies other people skills to become OP.

Alice is the best girl..

Unbelievably generic and shallow. There isn't even an attempt here to write a story. Dude knows everything because he's done everything and that's it. They even show you the ending in the first chapter making the entire thing pointless. Even for this genre it's laughably simplistic. Every chapter random enemy shows up and then MC uses random skill to defeat it. No logic or consistency to anything. No strategy to any of the fights. No suspense. No drama. I would say the depth here is below even something like Pokemon. In such a packed genre it's frustrating that we have to spend our time filteringthis stuff out.

Story 8/10 Anatomy: 7/10 Special Effects: 10/10 Coloring, establishing scene mood: 10/10 Drawing facial mimicry / emotions: 9/10 I absolutely LOVE the story, how the amazing main character is a total A-hole to spoiled gullible idiots! The Artist Team at Redice scored BIG with this one. Effects and color mood - very difficult to do are at Solo Leveling's level. Also its supremely fun to watch stupid players do irresponsible, foolish things.World is very serious and excellently put together. Unlike the badly drawn Disaster Level Hero

and its idiotic elements...

From worst to better, 10..6 this one is THE webtoon to read after finishing Solo Leveling.

R.I.P. Jang Sung-rak: we will remember you and keep you in our hearts forever!!!

On the list: 10 Best Manhwa Produced By Solo Leveling Studio, this is placed 6th.

I dunno about the other, higher ranked yet,

BUT I FOUND HEAVEN in I’m the Max Level Newbie!!

Also if you are an English speaker, then you should read the REAL webtoon, that has the

effect text: VLAM/BAM/SWISH/SMIRK, etc.. also translated and drawn into the manwha.

Don't read the Korean-effect versions, because the effect-texts also contribute to the

understanding and fun of what is happening!!!

If you mix the arrogant, power hungry, selfish personality of Tomb Raider King, a similar character design, outfits and concepts of Omniscient Reader and Solo Leveling, you’d get Solo Max Newbie. The story is not unique and the Title is misleading. Art is 9/10. Fight scenes and quests are intriguing but that’s it. Overpowered MC with no character development, has nothing else to make him likable, which makes him bland. All his enemies are levels higher but he’s always somehow stronger, this has many plot holes and inconsistencies. At this point he could climb the tower in his sleep. **Not every manhwa is Omniscient Reader or Sololeveling but with this one in particular, it’s a lot harder to ignore or not notice the ever more prominent similarities.**

If i where to describe this manhwa in a few short words it'd be "very tasty junk food", yes its generic, yes its system, but holly cow the characters in here are just amazing... this prob is in my top 5 manhwa for side characters. The plot is fun the balance is way off though Mc is def op but the fights are fantastic in here and mc himself is a pretty cool guy. Author does a good job at explaining things as well. Art 7/10: its basic manhwa art nothing unique, but there are some nice fight scenes for sure. Plot 7/10: its your basictowers, systems, op mc so don't go into this expecting anything unique

Mc 7.5/10: like I've said before op mc etc etc. He is smart though so i enjoyed that and author gives him a good back story so he's not just boom randomly super smart and strong when stuff goes down which was def nice.

Sc's 9/10: Author did a wonderful job with the characters in here many randoms come back 200 chapters later even if its just for a chapters so your reminded. The main cast is awesome and loveable and they all have character development... This definitely carried this manhwa for me.

Overall i gave it an 8/10 it was enjoyable read was never left bored if your reading comments to decide whether you want to read or not you mines well unless you don't like basic generic manhwa but lets be real u kinda need to since every 7/10 manhwa are generic T.T

*mild spoiler alert on the possibility of there being romance* So I read up to chapter 130 and then put it on pause for more chapters to come out and my feelings about it has changed since then. (Started with an 8 rating now leaning more towards 6/7.) This could be due to having read more manhwas so this no longer as good because I’ve read better ones since then, or I’m just moodier during this read through so more things are bugging me. So here is my issue… Teresa is acting like a 2nd FL and there isn’t supposed to be any romance. I liked thegirl at the beginning. I liked how all the ML’s relationships with females were platonic, because why do we need to sexualize & romanticize literally everything?!? I’m cool with Alice being the FL because it grew over time, seemed believable, and didn’t take away from the characters and their previous ideals and goals. Also, I love Alice. But then I heard through a novel spoiler there is an alternate ending with Teresa being the end game?!? That irks me because that’s turning this into a harem situation, and I don’t like reading harems or even reverse harems. I was chill with the grandpa trying to marry the MC to his granddaughter because it was funny, it was played off right, and it wasn’t continually being shoved down our throats. But Teresa blushing like a fool & making stupid decisions because she has special feelings for the MC bugs the crap out of me. I don’t like romance in my action manhwas just like how I am frustrated when action takes over my romance manhwas. I read the manhwa for the genre. So when I want to read a action-romance, I’ll read one with those tags. I don’t like being blind sided from a genre switch. I’m okay with sub-romance because that means it adds to the plot, not taking away from it by being distracting. As long as it is done right. Solo Leveling is a good example of this. As I was skipping through episodes it seems Teresa still acts love struck even though it’s pretty obvious at that point that Alice is end game, and that’s another trope that I am not a fan of.

During this re-read I only got to chapter 62 before I started getting frustrated and considered pausing or just dropping it.

So if action manhwas that start to hint towards romance is a big “no thank you”, I would suggest not reading this. If not, then go for it!

For starters, is it worth reading? Yes Now let's get to the point why, might not avoid spoilers so you are warned on that part. Story is kinda like esekai since mc returns back in time and he knows whats going to happen, know all the boses and so on. later on in the story, some things change thx to his interference and so on, so it's not a smooth ride. He got his teammates so he isn't one man army, though he on his own is quite strong and without him, things wouldn't have gone as they did, so yes, mc is op, but not tothe point like solo lvling where mc does everything by themselves.

And to the part with most people care the most.

Art is great, combat scenes are great, story has some comedy to it or to be more precise, some characters drop a joke here and there so it's not fights all the time.

I enjoy it and would recommend others to try this one out.

---

Could tell that mc can copy other people skills, combine them with no one else could and with his knowledge from the past that gives him a huge advantage since he knows how to beat one or another thing in most convenient way to make best profit possible, and so on. Or more about his team, but that's for you to find out.

If you liked Solo Leveling you might like this since it's by the same author and the art is very similar. But personally, I liked Solo Leveling more. In the story the MC seems to have no clear motivation except that of playing a video game. He's not really protecting people, we never see him struggle, he doesn't seem to care that the world may end. I guess we're supposed to feel bad for him because he struggled as a streamer in the first couple chapters but it doesn't translate after he starts gaining power for himself. It really stands out to me that he has all ofthese details but just thinks about getting a leg up himself. He could be the ultimate teacher or guide and help people survive or work with government or other powerful players to beat the tower faster. But no, he just wants to play a game.

He really is the villian of the story.

This manhwa seems to be the same as other manhwas out there, but for me especially I really enjoyed reading this. The reason being, after reading so many other manhwas/mangas, this brought me back my joy to read. I would say its comedy is really underrated and not many people talk about it. Even the fight scenes are really good. But it is also true that the concept is kinda generic and overused that the mc is too string and he knows everything and all but aside that, reading this was really fun I think others will really enjoy reading this as well

The start is your average power fantasy but then it becomes just boring, the mc is too op and quite obnoxious, also the condition for his skill are way too convenient, and most of the times are actions he would have done regardless, just serves as a slight justifications for how much of an assholes he is. The plot it’s quite messy, it’s fine to not explain everything cause maybe they’ll be discovered in the future as a plot point but here there are so many things that you just have too assume makes sense, the word building it’s also not clear at all, and thingshappens way too fast.

overall it feels like a mix of other more popular and better written manhwa, mostly, solo levelling and orv.
