This Manhua was really really good... when it was taking itself seriously. The first chapters caught my attention, set up as a serious and possibly tragic story, and slowly became a collection of slice of life comedy stories. I'm still giving it a 7 because the first chapters were amazing, and the comedy in the later chapters isn't bad at all, but I can't help but feel disappointed in the end. That being said, I absolutely love the character designs and the art style itself. It was still an enjoyable read, just wasn't what I was looking for. If you are looking for a slice oflife comedy, this will be perfect for you, however if you are looking for backstory and a solid resolution, I would possibly stop after the first third of the chapters.

Yuri bait. That's the best way to describe it. The main characters have slight romantic development for maybe 2 or 3 chapters, it mainly focuses on their friendship. If you want real Yuri, this is not for you. There is a big theme of child abuse which is handled in probably the worse way I've ever seen. After showing for multiple chapters the very large and deep wounds their mothers have left on them one of their mothers just realizes that they were bad and then everything is fine? There is no punishment or amends made for the years of physical and psychological abuse these women puttheir children through. They are just forgiven.

The only positive I can find is the main characters are enjoyable, even if a bit cliché. Should the author have cared more about the romance between them, this would have been a very good read.

Mild spoilers below. I love these characters. The art is great. The premise of the story is fun: the worst student in school and the best student in school, and neither of them have any friends. The manga deals with LGBTQ themes and crossdressing, and the jokes are great. There are 125 chapters and extras too, and I made it to chapter 51. But I can't make it to the end. The main characters are truly adorable, and I really want to know if Cang Cang and Xi Lin end up as romantic partners, instead of just friends who are emotionally and physically close to oneanother. Do they kiss? Do they officially date and become girlfriends? I simply don't have the time or perseverance to make it to the end. If this is a romance, it is not making any progress. The author is focused on comedy, and the romantic fireworks remain unlit. The reader is expected to suffer through joke after joke, but we don't know if the fireworks show will ever happen. This was a story in search of an editor.

The other complaint about this manhua is the existence of multiple English translations, some of which are quite poor. The different translations result in a half-dozen separate English titles for this story, most often: My Girlfriend is Still Cute Today. The characters names are different in each translation. I think the original was in Mandarin, and I wonder how popular it was with Mandarin readers. Without a solid English translation, it won't get a big readership in the West.

If you want a manhua with lots of jokes and a romantic subtext that goes on and on for over 125 chapters, then give it a shot. But don't expect passionate embraces, romantic kisses, and declarations of love.

I'm only 28 chapters in, but seeing how this manhwa has no reviews yet or even a score, I wanted to leave a few words for people who find it randomly on MAL. This manhwa has been an enjoyable 8/10 read, but overall I have to rate it as only 'Good' (7/10). If you want to see a lovable pair of characters interact and build their friendship, give this manhwa a try, it's certainly worth at least checking out a few chapters. Story 7/10 The story is really simple, the serious top student starts hanging out with the adorable worst student. They gradually grow close, help each otherout, and support one another as their backstories come to the surface. Full focus on the main two, any background characters are so far more like plot or comedy devices.

The pacing so far is very good.

Art 8/10

The art is pretty, neat, and endearing. Also full colour, which after reading black-and-white manga is a very pleasant change. Webtoon format also makes it easy to read on phone.

Characters 6/10

The characters are very polarised in terms of quality. The secondary cast is one-dimensional and used like plot and comedy devices more than like actual characters, and many of them can get rather annoying.

The main duo though, despite some clichés, actually feels unique and quite refreshing. They also quickly grow deeper and deeper as they interact and their backstories are explored.

Enjoyment 8/10

This is a simple story that knows what it wants to do and does it well. I'm having a lot of fun reading it and it's difficult to put away. The cute moments are cute, the serious moments are just the right amount of serious to not be jarring with the overall comedic and light-hearted tone of the whole thing. The comedy is... surprisingly the weakest point of this manhwa. I would say that it's more about making the story a lighter read than about actually making you laugh, which isn't a bad thing. The secondary characters are annoying but there isn't that much of them and the main duo makes up for it anyway.

For some reason the English translation Americanised the first names of the characters, so we have Sadie, Xavier, Nathan, etc. and it's really annoying.

So, yeah, it isn't the best thing out there, but it has been fun and I will continue reading.

It has very random but interesting plots. It sort of adds upon itself and creates a good slice of life. The story was definitely different, somewhat predictable but still good. It has a very slowburn,it'll just tease the viewer many time but never show what you want to see. The art style is good. The characters are well rounded and have unique backstories, they have flaws but at some points are invincible well because of plot armor. The characters sometimes did not react to the situation like a real person would but hey that's the point. I think people just looking to have a good time will like this.

It is very good, although the main couple are not explicitly dating, there is good development between them. It's very enjoyable to read, the plots are light and short, but well worked out, the secondary characters are good, although there are an unnecessarily large number of extras, the secondary characters that matter are very likeable and have great messages. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that storylines were forgotten, such as Cang's mother, who was shown as extremely strict and protective, and this side of her was never shown again. Overall, I highly recommend it if you like a light novel with great messages andvery likeable characters

Simple, is it yuri? No, is it worth reading? Not if youre looking for a girls romance story. This is the classic "more than friends, less than lovers" and im sorry to disappoint but it never goes beyond that. If you are someone like me that is all about the destination, not about the journey, this manga will be a waste of time. Lest start from the beginning, the premise was really good and interesting, cliché yes but catchy non the less. I thought the story had a lot of potential and a lot to offer just from the start but as i read chapter afterchapter and i saw little to no progress at all i soon realized that this story was not worthy. I still had my hopes up and finished because i liked the two MC, the other characters are just annoying and a pain.

The design are nothing great, good as most manhwas are. I believe tho the author went way too far with the animal portraits of the characters to a point that in some chapters they appear more as animals than people. At first was fun but he did it way too much.

if youre looking for a somewhat "funny" yuri bait maybe this one is for you, although the story is nothing impressive and falls more in the "average" category.

Not recommended, there are plenty way better stories out there. You can skip this one.
