Reviews for Lullaby of the Dawn
Back to MangaYoake no Uta tells the story of a fantasy world where so called Kannagi with special abilities are born in each village to protect the people from mysterious creatures that come out of the sea at night. One of the villages boys Alto becomes interested in the secluded living Kannagi Elva and decides to help him out as a servant. The stories premise is very interesting, while still leaving a lot of mysteries and answers to be uncovered in the future. The story focuses on those mysteries and the roles the protagonists play in this world while the romance is more of a slow burn. Howeverit is not cut short and the Boys Love elements are still an important part of the narrative. Their relationship is that of a protective and wholesome one.
The art style is beautiful and comprehensive even in action scenes. Especially close-ups are visually impressive.
Overall I am very interested in seeing where this story is going as it has great potential for an amazing fantasy boys love.
[Reviewed until Vol 4, spoiler free] This deserves way way way more love and attention than what it currently has. Interesting world building, uniquely designed characters with great individualistic and realistic personalities and beautiful artwork. Supernatural elements or something else? You have to find out for yourself. There are twists and turns in the plot when you least expect them. Romance is a slow burn, but the fantasy work distracts you enough and then pulls you right back into the plot. Things move rather fast, not a single dull moment so far either. -Read at your own risk, cause once you start; you can't stop scrambling for more.
