Reviews for Nan Hao Shang Feng
Back to MangaThis is indeed a comedy about two ordinary high school boys. How ordinary? Just enough to slide in "me and the boys" type humour in every possible panel—with impeccable execution, no less, consequently resulting in some of the funniest high school comedy I know of to date. There's really not a lot to bang on about with Nan Hao Shang Feng. It is a treat for those looking for comedy, a twist of the normal school life escalated to surrealism, garnished with diversity in the form of ideas and cultures. Despite the seemingly simple situations in which some of ourselves may have first-hand experience, we are metwith consistent glory in comedy, turning the situations here a little more than they should be.
Usually, such an achievement is continuously crafted via overdramatic panels or unrealistic human motion that all amount to absolute foolishness, nothing to take seriously in the slightest; that is what makes it amazing. This high school life, which is not uncommon if you obverse those around you, being exaggerated beyond belief, this already funny part in life is made even funnier is nothing short of amazing.
I could go on some more, but for the most part, this webcomic is episodic and usually focuses on making the reader laugh more than anything else. It has succeeded in its take, no doubt. So I'd recommend this to all the comedy fans out there. You are missing out for sure if you choose to say no to this one.
10/10.
The most important thing is that this is one of the Chinese Manhuas that are GOOD and are worth reading. It is also quite hard to review. "Nan Hao Shang Feng" is an episodic comedy about two friends, the friends of those friends and their shenanigans at school. The comedy is on ... over the top side, revolves around absurd situations and occasionally becomes surreal. There are misunderstanding, people doing ridiculous things with completely serious face, overly dramatic poses, there are occasional easter eggs in background, and if I were to describe it in a few words, it is a comedy of absurdity, where people oftentry to do something ridiculous while trying to look serious. There isn't a lot of dialogue, actually, it is more of "show, don't tell", characters talk little and the dialogue is to the point.
If you saw Tamen de Gushi (another good chinese Manhua), this one feels very similar to the funny episodes of Tamen de Gushi, although it doesn't have Yuri in it, and serious episodes are very infrequent.
The art is obviously anime/manga influenced, but it is on realistic side, and most of the characters are adult proportioned. No chibies here, and no tiny teenagers. The guys look like they're 18 to 19 years old.
The structure is episodic and revolves aroudn ridiculous situations. As a result the characters are believable in their ridiculous acting, but there's normally no "deep psychological" stuff going on and next to no overarching elements.
I highly recommend to check it out, because it is funny and entertaining.
7/10 story, 6/10 art, 6/10 character, 7/10 enjoyment, 7/10 overall.
OMG... I didn't laugh so good and loud for a long time! :D It's definitely worth it to read! Very short stories about (mainly) two school friends who constantly make fun of each other. That's all! But it's also enough to lift your spirits :D Art is typically Chinese. Perfectly portrays the emotions of the characters. About characters: already from the first stories you understand what each of these two is. Guys, it's just short stories without a big inside line(at least for now as I can see, I am on 20 chapter yet) so that just take a look and after spending 5 minutes youcan decide if you want to continue :)
Have fun!!
Two teenagers as protagonists that will make you laugh in each chapter. When I started reading it, I didn't expect it to be so funny and entertaining, with a rather aesthetic character design and well-made expressions. the chapters will be short but of quality, I started the first chapter and read until the last one that had been published non-stop on the same night, as you progress characters are added and unexpectedly from time to time the plot takes a quite serious aspect, like this I can say that it is one of my favorite mahuas and I would recommend it to anyone who wants toread something to have fun with. it makes you want a friendship like theirs, personally friendship is much better than romance at times.
This manhua is absolutely hilarious and a must-read for comedy lovers! The story may be simple and predictable, but it’s so funny and charming that you’ll love it anyway. The art style perfectly complements the humor, with expressive characters that make every panel feel relatable. The characters, especially the girls, are amazing—quirky, funny, and full of personality, even if they’re a bit over-the-top at times. They react to situations in ways that feel real to the tone of the story. If you enjoy lighthearted, absurd humor with great character moments, this is for you! It’s a short, fun read that’ll leave you laughing. Highly recommend!😂😭
Don't expect anything life changing but I have no reason to give this anything less than a 9. I can't think of a single thing nan hao shang feng does wrong. The author accomplished exactly what they set out to do. Sometimes all you want is a well drawn & colorized visual comedy of the most absurd variety, and that's exactly what you get. This does mean that if you don't find the first 5 chapters funny, you're not going to get anything out of this series. If you do like the author's humour, rest assured, this series does not get any less funny lateron.
"Recommend" instead of "Mixed Feelings" because everyone should at least give it a shot.
This shows is a great read, when you just want to grind an entire series. It shows the simple life of two high school boys life. Being well boys and just having fun. As show goes you see many funny side characters and funny side plot which is a very great read. What I love about this show it is a funny read but also has those few serious moment which just lets you experience the life of a high school boy as it has its many ups and downs. Even when it may not seem it. i recommend it too all as it justa comfy read.
I've only read until the 6th chapter and I guarantee it's a solid comedic series. Danshi Koukousei No Nichijou Vibes, but just slightly fewer pages per chapter. I'm not used to reading webtoons and long strip but this is one of those that I can read anytime I feel like it. It's one of those series where you don't mind reading from the first chapter all over again because it's just that funny. As far as art goes, it's almost a typical slice-of-life and comedy manhua, but it doesn't really matter since the the focus is on the comedy. If you're familiar with Randowis' works orthe manga Jitsu Wa Watashi Wa, then you will surely love the expressions they make.
It's been a while since I've had a good laugh and I highly recommend this to anyone looking for something else or taking a break from fnatasy, action, adventure genres like me.
