Reviews for The Greatest Magicmaster's Retirement Plan: The Alternative
Back to MangaAbsolute trash. MC who is the most powerful warrior in the universe is forced to go back to school and train some random girls... This has to be the 1000th manga with the exact same plot. It's so generic you could swap in pages from any other series and not even notice. Every chapter has MC showing off how amazing he is while simultaneously complaining about wanting a "quiet life" and also building a harem... It's silly school drama with zero stakes. MC hides his identity at school for all of 30 seconds before revealing he's an all powerful warrior superman. MC trains his classmatesby telling them to "concentrate" and they become gods overnight. MC doesn't understand how "normal" things work because he is too powerful. Everything about this series is predictable and boring.
It's another one of those stories where the MC is some kind of unprecedented genius that somehow became the strongest in the world at the age of 16 but then goes to school for stupid reasons and then starts teaching 2 mediocre girls with special pasts. The most annoying part about this manga is that the MC basically never says no to anything but then complains a lot about the consequences. Basically the entire story revolves around him being forced or blackmailed into things, which makes no sense since he's basically the Gojo of his verse so he should be able to do whatever he wantswhenever he wants.
Here are some things the MC is forced into doing:
- Teaching 2 weak girls magic (1 of them is the reason I rated this 4/10 instead of 6/10 because she's so annoying)
- He gets forced to attend school because why not? It's not even because of a mission, his superior literally just made him attend school even though the MC doesn't need it
- He's forced into supervising some tests for the safety of the students because the teachers are apparently useless
- the chairwoman of the academy keeps bossing him around even though the MC is higher ranked than her
- The governor-general guy keeps making the MC go on missions once every few chapters even though the literal reason the MC is in school is because he wanted to retire from the army
This was an unpleasant read for me, a lot of the characters are just straight up annoying and serve no purpose since the MC can solve every problem on his own, they're basically just baggage and a waste of the MCs time. I never finished this manga but I'm fairly confident that the ending is going to be rushed and poorly written.
