Reviews for Human Ranch
Back to MangaIt's pure garbage. It tries to copy Neverland, but fails miserably in every aspect. Most of this shit makes no sense and is full of plot holes and shit just happens for no reason. Also everyone is just acting like they are complete and utter idiots (could use harsher words but trying to keep it PG). The art is bad as well, average at best. Characters are idiots. There is no enjoyment to be taken out of this manga, unless you are a loser or a masochist. Do yourself a favor. Don't go near this. Don't even think about touching this garbage with a 50ft pole.
I disagree with everyone else that said this is only a "Neverland" ripoff. It's have a same theme but completely different story. Though the art is a bit lacking and a lot of half censored there. I found myself really like the story. I like the psychology aspects of a mature people compare to "Neverland". You should give this one a chance. I'm just hoping no more half baked censorship. If the manga want to be gore or darker then be it. The characters in the story are not as perfect as its rival. They show a lot of vulnerability and this is also what make this one interesting.I hope the story will keep getting better.
Not good! A quick read at just 28 chapters but really not worth the effort. Character development non-existent (to be fair how can you do much in 28 chapters), plot holes, lame ending, and pretty much no redeeming qualities. Story: Started out rather ok and somewhat interesting, but by the end very bland with no interesting developments. Most of what happened felt extremely predictable down to the last chapter. Characters: Dear god. The main characters are to have been friends for a very long time, yet it seems like at some points they don't even know each other. Each character fills their role and onlytheir role, no character has any development. The MC is infatuated with someone we learn very little if not nothing about, she is the most boring romantic interest in any manga I have read.
Art: so-so, not bad but not phenomenal either. There are stories with great art / terrible story, terrible art / great story, and everything in between. This falls into meh art / bad story
Could it have been saved?: More chapters could have led to more world building and character development that could have maybe saved this
We have here an actually interesting and original isekai; no cheap comedy, no magic. It is more about survival, horror, fear and lot of suspense. A class on a field trip gets transported with the whole bus into a parallel world inhabited by elves who breed humans for food and it’s up to the main characters to find a way on how to escape. Not many people will like story such as this. It has many so-called 'edgy' elements, like gore, sexuality and rape, so here you have your word of warning. Characters are well written, as long as the story goes. Each has some strengths thatare required for the group's survival (one is the smart and calculating, other is strong and reliable, or another one keeps the group composed and together etc.). The story keeps us caring for the main characters; it showed us it is easy to die and therefore we are rooting for them like they could die any moment. This brings a lot of suspense to the whole reading experience.
The story is finished, but for some of those who are not reading a lot of horrors, it may actually feel unfinished or even cut. It is not. It is important to know that for horrors, it is pretty common to leave us hanging or leave some mysteries unsolved. That’s the appeal of horrors.
It is easy to read and easy to get through. If captivated, one can read the whole thing in one day; it’s really short. For those who want to start with horrors, this is a good candidate.
Pros:
+ suspense; very exciting read
+ each character has his/her important role
+ short, straightforward, easy to read
Cons:
- not for everyone (contains gore, rape...)
Double-edged:
+/- many unsolved mysteries, but that is to be expected
+/- pretty much concluded, but keeps the readers wanting more
9/10 (GREAT)
An actual good (isekai) horror story? Count me in. Pretty easy read. Not a complex story, but it is well structured, well paced, and quite claustrophobic. Hell, this was a nailbitingly exciting read. Is this a masterpiece? Nah, not even close. This is not where you will decipher the meaning of life. It is just an easily digestable horror, which gives you some cheap thrill. [As a note, the storyline strongly resembles the western teen horrors, so prepeare yourself for the "to be continued" aftertaste] The characters are fine, nothing fancy, but they were interesting and sympathetic enough to make me care about them. Therefore, itwas able to maintain suspense, unlike lot of other horror story.
All in all if you feel like you want to read a popcorn horror to kill some time, then I definietly recommend it.
