If you want a cute, wholesome BL manga in which the main couple are both adults, you've come to the right place. Restart wa Tadaima no Ato de tells the story of Mitsuomi, a 25 years old guy who, after being fired from his job in Tokyo, comes back to his hometown in the countryside where he meets Yamato (also 25 years old), the adopted son of the elderly neighbor. The manga focuses on the relationship between Mitsuomi and Yamato and how their feelings for each other slowly transform from friendship into romance, while having plenty of character development for both of them. Mitsuomi struggles withfinding his path in life, while Yamato has deep-rooted issues about being abandoned as a child and then adopted as a teenager. Both the characters and the way they navigated their feelings are pretty relatable, and the story is sweet and touching without getting angsty. It's also 100% sfw, so it's a good manga when you feel like reading some sweet BL but are not in the mood for smut.

The art is aesthetically pleasing, very soft but expressive enough, and perfectly matches the tone of the story.

Overall, a good one volume BL manga that I definitely recommend for those who want a sweet, uncomplicated but relatable love story with adult characters.

It's honestly one of the most cutest and relaxing shounen ai stories I've ever read. I liked how we have a tsundere hot tempered lad who just got back home in the countryside from Tokyo after being fired from his job a few times. Yamato is pretty much a happy chappy, he was taken in by his grandad after being put into fostercare and found on a park bench when he was a wee babie. I would've liked to have found out more about who his parents are but regardless, this is a pretty nice story to read folks! Btw I heard there's a live actioncoming out this year so check that out as well 😁

This was my first BL ever and I'm really glad I read it, because it's very good. The story focuses on two male adults who know each other and start to develop their relationship in a very wholesome way. The manga doesn't center itself in sexist stereotypes to build the characters and their relationship, and that's refreshing. The art is fairly good, pleasing to look at and with some very good panels that keep your eyes on them for a long time. The two main characters are well-built for such a short series and complement each other perfectly, the other characters are more plain though. All in all, ifyou are looking for a light, wholesome reading about two young adults falling in love, this is definitely your manga.

If you're looking for a feel-good short gay story, this is a great pick! As somoene who has read a somewhat impressive amount of BL manga, I would like to express my enjoyment at this simple, yet tasteful portrayal of same-sex adult couples. As the story progresses, we get to see how their friendship morphs into something more- love. Short and Straightfoward, this work will defently apease to thoses who dislike slowburns. Generally, this manga avoids using the tropes that can be commonly found in such media. Such a masterful mix between wholesome BL fluff and good character developement is a breath offresh air. The two main character, Mitsuomi and Yamato, deal with very real issues. It's cutesy art style compliments the slice-of-life aspect of this story.

Great art paired with the author's understanding of the human psyche make this a good read!

After reviewing the first volume of the story, this volume sucks as well. I'll repeat what I said about "Restart After Going Back Home" here: [The story doesn't make sense, and it's hard to understand what's happening since the story goes by too fast. It doesn't explain the reason or stakes well enough. For the whole time reading it, it's hard to understand what the story is about, and the story is easily forgotten after reading it. The characters barely have any personality, and there is no reason for them to even show up in the story. Overall, the story is not recommended to beread if you value your time and money. Who cares about someone coming home since coming home is a totally normal thing? And why would anyone fall for a random guy they meet?]

Then, for this story, why are they going hungry? How? Did they become homeless? The story didn't really explain it. And these two volumes are marketed as two seperate one shots, so the story doesn't feel that connected as a duology, and just feels like two one-shots that somehow connect. There still aren't any stakes in the story, and it feels bland. It's hard for anyone to praise the story or remember the plot. The romance is not sweet since there is none.

Oh, what a lovely story! It's so warm and comforting right from the moment I started reading. I simply fell in love with this heartwarming and captivating tale of Mitsuomi and Yamato. The way the characters reconnect with their roots and discover new bonds of friendship and love is incredibly soothing. The plot is just enchanting. We follow Mitsuomi, a protagonist who returns to his hometown after facing challenges in Tokyo. It's inspiring to see how he finds comfort and new perspectives by reconnecting with his roots and meeting Yamato, the sweet convenience store clerk. Their friendship evolves into something deeper in such a delicate andgenuine way, creating a dynamic that's both light-hearted and profound. It's amazing how each chapter makes you feel like you're part of their journey, rooting for their growth and happiness.

Moreover, the art is simply beautiful! Every expression, every tender moment between the characters is drawn with such care and emotion that you truly feel the warmth of their feelings. I found myself smiling and sighing along with the characters. It's one of those mangas that make you feel like you're living every page alongside them.

And the theme is something many of us can relate to. The way it tackles this theme with sensitivity and optimism is inspiring. It's a story that reminds us that it's possible to start over, find love, and discover happiness where we least expect it.

In summary, "Restart After Coming Back Home" is more than just a love story. If you're looking for a manga that warms the heart and leaves a smile on your face, this is definitely the one to read! It's a true gem of the BL genre that I wholeheartedly recommend!

This book is without a doubt one of the best BL I've ever read. I'm not going to get too much into the story itself, because I do not want to spoil it, but this story is very wholesome, the characters seem pretty down to earth and the scenery and environment where this story happens is amazing and comforting. This manga is about the story of two male adults, and how their relationship develops along the story. It is a very refreshing and relaxing BL to read. In a lot of BL's, usually the characters go through destructive means to accept their sexuality andmore often than not, hurt their other significant other. This manga does not do that, and that is very nice to see. Although they face some obstacles, in the end, they're able to be on the same page.

The art is very nice, very smooth and easy to understand.

Although the manga is fairly small (only 1 volume with 7 chapters), it completes itself in a way that you don't feel as if something else had to be added, with a really nice ending. Well, I guess it wasn't really an ending since the author wrote a continuation of this story which is also 1 volume with 7 chapters, called Restart wa Onaka wo Sukasete, which is also very good.

If you're looking for a very wholesome couple and a light read, I'd 100% recommend this book.

A cute story made to warm your heart. It has a little depth to Yamato's character and is a little more real in relation to a small town. I've read many stories with cities like this and it was strange to see how everyone was always very open to everything, especially homosexual couples. We know that this is not quite reality, so I really liked this touch on the story. It's a short story, so there's always going to be something that we haven't seen enough of, but I feel like it's also a positive point that it makes you want more. That's how Ifelt, it has development, it's satisfying, but it made me want more. Mainly the question of being accepted by the city, what would be the conclusion of that or is there no conclusion?

Despite that, it's nothing heavy or focused on that part, but on the main couple who feel lonely when they're not together.

It's my favorite type of dynamic, when the two are completely opposite in personality, so I loved their relationship. It's just so cute and warming and beautiful. The art conveys this feeling well and I had a good time reading it. Nothing that will change my life, but it warmed it up for at least a few minutes.

So heartwarming and beautiful! Imagine always being cheerful and laughing your life away but hides the sad past in the back of your heart just to be able to live a normal and pleasant life? It does make you forget about what you know about yourself and create a new life around the new people you have. That is our Yamato. But when he goes looking for the past and finds it was never there he still smiled and was actually glad to not know his parents or where he came from. And that's the moment I feel so much for him. Never mind thefact that he was still barely accepted in the community even after 10 years, but not knowing who gave you your name makes you wander what kind of people are they (parents)? And the way Mitsuomi realized his feelings shows how he bargained and thought too much about it without it being too sudden. In fact, their love story just comes out naturally and it was such a beautiful moment to witness. The author noted that they make up what the other lacks, and it really shows. How much their personality complemented each other that you get a warm and fuzzy feeling every time they show their vulnerable side. So so so good!
