Why are the reviews for this so bad? The story starts from an affair but it progresses well. Its true to the novel. The empress stands tall and firm making rational decisions compared to her cheating husband (yes cheating since he brought in a concubine without his empress' permission so therefore, an affair. It should be a mutual agreement on both parties since she is his spouse). She eventually meets Heinrey who actually genuinely sees her for who she is, a strong woman whose smart, beautiful, rational, a good ruler, and would make a good loyal lover (compared to her trash husband) Sovieshu is just a narcistic manwith too much pride which actually leads to the deterioration of his relationship with Navier. Im sure everyone will hate him so Im not even going to spend time talking about him. Just know hes trash and nothing redeems him.

The story is frustrating but great! Its literally one of the best historical royal stories out there

Story: I just can't put my finger on what the author wants. This whole story is just so frustrating that I'm wondering whether it'll be the start of a theme for masochists exclusively. In the pro-prologue you see the protagonist striving but then you get like around 90 ch of her suffering??? The author can't write anything else besides that for 90 chapters. And it's not even a dark psychological story! It's bright, bright but depressing. It doesn't make sense. (edit: I can't possibly consider this angst since there's nothing to choose between. There's only aimless suffering). And the reasons for the protagonist's suffering are so weakin the sense that the author tries too hard to force suffering on her. First, she can't communicate. Our empress who excels in all areas can't communicate with her husband to tell him what he's doing wrong and just expect him to know it himself (which he should, but if he doesn't at least try and explain. You have to put up with him for the rest of your life (she didn't know she would remarry then)).

Now I get that communication isn't always easy so I'll let that slide. But why in the world is the husband, a whole ass emperor, so stupid as not the know that it's obvious that his wife won't like the concubine??? And he expects his wife to organise everything for his concubine????? Let's just suppose his concubine is a sweetheart (which is also what he thinks), it's still perfectly logical that his wife will still dislike her right? His stupidity as a normal man doesn't make sense, let alone as the emperor. Where's his education?

Now the only logical character is the goddamn concubine Trastha. Despite f*cking hating her, I'd rather read the story from her perspective cause that girl is smart. Just imagine what it's like for one of the most hateable characters to be the most realistic and understandable.

Art:

The art is sooooo stunning. The protagonist is so pretty, It definitely helped the story. Too bad the story didn't help the art.

I think this is a very good manhwa. It really gets frustrating at times because of the antagonist (she's very unlikeable), but it'll just make the eventual revenge much much sweeter. Also, even though the title is "Remarried Empress", I was surprised as to how long it took before she actually got remarried. The characters are alright. The fl is level-headed and mature, which really sets the tone of the plot. The empress really acts like one, putting the responsibilities she has from her position before her own feelings. The male lead is also really sweet and dreamy. My problem with the characters is that theydo not seem to have any backstory or depth to them - it's as if the male lead was just made for plot convenience and being hot. Because of this, some events of the manhwa may feel somewhat forced, like they are happening just for the sake of moving the plot forward. Moreover, I don't really feel much chemistry between the two leads (so far).

The art is really well done! The colors are vibrant and the characters look unique and recognizable from first glance. Even their outfits were drawn very well.

Overall, I rate this a 9. This is certainly one of the good nobility stories out there, and it's unique for its more serious and mature tones.

I think this isn't a popular opinion, but I can't enjoy this story at all. I also don't think Rashta is as bad as people say she is. If anything the Empress, if this was real life, would be the villain. I started thinking this way when Rashta's origins were revealed and the characters reactions were appalling to say the least. No one was shocked or disgusted by the fact that slavery existed in their kingdom, not even the Empress our heroine, but instead saw it as an embarrassment for Rashta. How is her being a slave embarrassing, but not embarrassing for the Emperor or theEmpress that they allowed slavery in their kingdom. How quickly people turned Rashta's suffering into an insult was disgusting. How can I root for the Empress if her people are so awful. And if I'm to believe that the Empress doesn't see a problem with people owning slaves, as she's is pretty nonchalant about it, then I can't see her as a good person. And I can't blame Rashta for wanting to get out of that bad situation, even if it makes her a mistress.

The Empress even remarks and belittles Rashta for her lack of knowledge, which she knows is because Rashta was born a slave. That's extremely classist and elitist of her. In this era of 'tax the rich' I'm really surprised at this webtoon's popularity.

People may argue it's for realism that the Empress acts this way, but people turn into the birds in this webtoon. So magic is allowed to exist, but our Empress has to have old-fashioned classist views. Great thanks, I hate it here.

no, don't get me wrong for putting a 4 in this manhwa - it's good, but.. there's a lot of 'but'. to be fair, there's a lot of loop in this story.. like you feel so suffocating that it always the same feeling from before because this bitj rashta and that bastard sovieshu is so annoying, like to the point I would always put my middle finger up when you see this character, like their topic of debate is super duper bullshit, they always put the blame on our female lead yoo - and from chapter one till around ch 80 - you will justwait for the moment of divorce scene and then our queen will get remarried..

oh ya, if you feel I throw a lot of spoiler in my review, noo.. this is what it is. the synopsis and the story development is narrow, but it's ok because this manhwa will bring you into the female lead perspective a lot

yea... so what I mean is.. this got a good story if you like a mistress and wife conflict or affair storytelling. like, it's fair..

but anyway, if you don't like some topic that keeps going around again and again - just don't read it - because It gotta make you underestimate this art.. and I think this manhwa is good to read when you read it once a week - not binge - you will get a high blood pressure. umm, yeah..

anyway.. for me, it's a good 4 - but.. yeah..it just. ugh, nevermind

It's a very different story than we are used to reading. The characters are very well written, the story makes sense and I surely like it overall. But the pacing is very, very slow. I agree that it makes every development more satisfying when they actually happen, but they are still very very slowly moving. I thought the pace would fasten when she actually remarried (is it a spoiler when it's in the title?) but it didn't. It's good, but could be better. I suggest that anyone interested wait till more chapters are released, maybe till the 300th and read it all at once. It'sworth binge-reading, but I don't know if it's worth to read only a slow development each week.

I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews on this manhwa. But I'll just leave my positive review here. -STORY- So far as the season 1 of the manhwa has finished, I'm really satisfied with this story. The empress, Navier has been through so much of pains and challenges during the first season. And the ending of the first Season give the readers satisfaction and relieved. As you reading the manhwa you going to feel so much frustration and haterade toward Rashta, the antagonist of the story which mean that the antagonist really able to serve her role as the antagonist dispite us knowing theunfortunate back story of her. Dispite all the frustration, reader will always be motivated to continue reading the manhwa because we are excited for the promissed happy ending of the show (The divorce arc)

-Art-

The stunning beautiful artstlye just going to capture your interest rigth away while scrolling down webtoon. The characters are beautiful. Details on clothing that has meanings behind it like clothes for specific occasions and situations.

-Overal-

A really enjoyable and thrilling story to read. I'm really looking forward for the second season and so on. (REVIEW AS FOR NOVEMBER 2021)

This manhwa is so fucking frustrating! It teases the divorce in the first chapter and then takes OVER EIGHTY CHAPTERS FOR IT TO FUCKING HAPPEN! But that's intentional, the manhwa wants the reader to suffer in the same way that Navier is suffering. Every chapter you find yourself thinking that the divorce is surely around the corner... and then it isn't... and then Navier suffers more... and Rashta gets full of herself more... and Mr. Bad Husband (who I won't give the dignity of naming) making more and more frustrating decisions... and the manwha spiraling with all of this going on. Navier goes through alot throughout this entire manhwa and the way it's presented is supposed to make you feel her pain. BUT AT THE SAME TIME IT'S FUCKING FRUSTRATING AND JUST NOT FUN TO READ. The divorce has happened now so I've been enjoying all the chapters after the divorce and am counting the days until Mr. Bad Husband and Rashta get their comeuppance, but I can never reread the chapters before the divorce because they are just so frustrating.

I like all the characters (in the way you are supposed to like them). Navier is a great FL, she's smart, charismatic and is able to read and take care of the situation herself. Heinrey is a great ML, he empathizes with Navier and genuinely loves her. Their banter in the most recent chapters have been great (as have been everything else now that we're out of the hellscape of the eternal predivorce).

Rashta is hateable in all the right ways. A naive person who craves power and influence without knowing the cost of it. AND MR. BAD HUSBAND IS TERRIBLE AND I CANNOT WAIT TO WATCH HIM SUFFER (especially now that he's trying to crawl back to Navier. Fucking die bastard)!

All in all, this manhwa is well written and knows exactly what it is doing, making the reader feel the pain that Navier is feeling. But by teasing the readers by having the divorce in the first chapter and then taking over eighty chapters to get there it becomes more frustrating to read than fun. That said now that the divorce stuff is over, I am enjoying the new chapters (but can never go back).

Well, let's go... this manhwa in my opinion is an incredible work, well written and elaborated characters, complex plots, but simple to be followed by the reader, the twists are wonderful, and the protagonist is amazing, there is only one word to describe it: PERFECT, the villain, she perfectly fulfills her role, in my view this work shows the other side of josei and shoujo historical romance manhwas, where it shows the side of the empress and not the emperor's new romantic interest as in other manhwas (in the others the characters who occupy the role of the rasta are heroines while the empress isthe evil one), that is, bringing a different vision from other works, a great read, it has a slow pace, but a good development.

Overall for the the the storyline is 💯and the art too. I just hate his ex-husband role for being a jerk. Well, he has no right to get jealous and control Queen for loving another man when he's being a 💩head towards her. the audacity of him to bring another woman who has a low standard (not being a slave) but being greedy. I quite enjoyed it and I'm not trying to stereotype but what if Navier is not infertile at all😭, How I wish she would end up with Heinrey. They deserve each other. I felt sorry for Rashta for not being contented with whatshe had. She can have the throne but not all the man's heart lol. Cheers for Heinly though🤍

Honestly, this is the webtoon that got me hooked on webtoons. I personally find myself to be a pretty picky reader when it comes to scores but I have no hesitance giving this story a 10/10. I've read the webnovel farther than where the webcomic currently is and I love where the story goes. You have magic, political intrigue, villains you love to hate, a level headed and smart female lead, and a knight (prince) in shining armor. There's just something about watching the destruction of a marriage and seeing that you can still find meaning beyond that relationship. I don't think that's too much ofa spoiler since that's literally how the story opens - even though it takes a loooong time to get back to that point. The thing I love most about this story is my absolute hatred of the villains. It's SO easy to hate them. They're just straight up awful. But you really have to stick with it until the end. This is one of those stories where the journey is more important than the destination. Seeing the struggle and what Navier chooses to do and how she chooses to live her life - she's an icon of perseverance and dignity in the middle of an absolute dumpster fire.

To me "The Remarried Empress" represents the pinnacle of what comics should aspire to be - entertaining, encouraging, and self-revealing. I think any woman can find something to relate to in Navier's predicament. And I think it's really encouraging to see her not give up and still find a path for herself in all that mess. She's smart and she gets stuff done. And that's why you should read it.

Also the art is outstanding of course. If you have the chance, read the webnovel too. It's great.

At Chapter 85. Waiting for 2nd season. Story: (9/10) I'm surprised that people rated this too low when in fact, this is one of the most unique and thrilling historical manwha's I've ever read. The plot may seem typical as you can see in the summary, but the process of how the story goes keeps the readers on edge that every chapter ends with an intriguing cliffhanger. The character dynamics are impressive as well as each of them bring a distinct role to the story. I also have to give a hand to the scriptwriters for their brilliant minds on interpreting the story clearly as well asthe cleverly written conversations of savagery and backlash among the characters.

Art: (9/10)

The art is absolutely stunning! If you've read a lot of webtoons/manwhas, you'd notice that some drawings have peculiar art styles wherein some faces look a bit deformed. But this manwha, on the hand, has beautiful aesthetics and attractively drawn characters. The colors also complements well in captivating life to the visuals.

Characters: (10/10)

Let me just say how I love the characteristics and personalities of the cast. Each of them bring a significant role to the story whether they are a main character or a side.

Unlike most female protagonists whom are usually the damsels in distress, this lead character is a fcking savage. She is literally a strong and independent queen who can either selflessly treat you with respect or roast you from existence. She's smart, classy and doesn't tolerate shit once her kindness gets abused. I She's the female lead that I've been longing for whenever I start an anime or manwha. The male lead, on the other hand, is an utter sweetheart. He may appear to be the typical badboy prince at first glance, but it turns out he's an actual cinnamon roll who has a pure and loving heart. He's a wholesome character that manages to soften the stoic personality of the queen. They balance each other out so well that you can't help but feel giddy upon their exchange of interactions.

Naturally, you'd find the rest of the characters as despicably annoying. And as much as how I want them to be dragged under the depths of hell, I can't deny the fact that they fight so cleverly. They tend to be more passive yet strategic. It's not the typical route that most antagonists we've come to expect.

Enjoyment: (10/10)

Despite my distaste for historical genres, this one has definitely won me over. It's one of the manwhas that I never expected to love (and binged). Honestly, the only reason why I gave this a shot was because I heard rumors that this manwha will be adapted in a Korean tv drama, featuring one of my fave actors, Ji Chang Wook (like I said, it's still a rumor).

Still, I can say that this story isn't everyone's cup of tea. Judging by most people giving this a low rating, it's mostly due to the rage of the readers who dislike the rollercoaster loop of drama (what's the point of having a long running-time story when there ain't no conflict right?). Nonetheless, I really hope it'll be confirmed soon because it'd be such a waste that such a brilliant and thrilling story remains hidden from the non-webtoon world.

Overall: (9/10)

The manwha isn't finished yet since it's still preparing chapters for season 2 (chap. 85 and above). I might update my review once the story ends, but for now I'm giving this a "9" since I'm enjoying the story so far. Hoping for a savagery revenge from the queen soon!

Plot summary: Empress Navier, who has reigned alongside Emperor Sovieshu for years, must navigate her husband's concubine Rashta in her ascent of power and also her growing interest in the neighboring kingdom's monarch, Heinrey. Overall score: 8/10; This story is an interesting take on what would normally be a success story for a young pauper girl (Rashta) in facing nobility that scorns peasantry rising to the throne. Since it is told from Navier's perspective, we see a different side to this success story: that there was a person with feelings who might have felt replaced by someone less prepared for leadership of a kingdom. If thiswere Rashta's story, Navier certainly looks like a villainess. Since this is Navier's story, we see Rashta's 'infiltration' through Navier's sadness and acceptance of her lack of true power with regards to the situation. On a more personal note, it seems sometimes as if Navier is too cold toward those around her and could definitely afford more patience with Rashta as to play a smarter hand against those questioning her cold demeanor. The story itself quite slowly builds toward her forging her own way through the situation, but in the end, her and Heinrey's relationship is cute and genuine, bringing some humanity into Navier's dull characterization.

TLDR; recommended for cute relationship building between Navier and Heinrey, and overall a good revenge story that bears deserved consequence to the antagonists.

Look, usually I don't really write reviews (cause I'm lazy) but I really wanted to give a hand to this series. I was kind of confused as well as to why it's got so many bad reviews. Before reading this, I found the historical/royal genre tiring because the female lead almost always ends up becoming the damsel in distress, but the Remarried Empress stood out a lot to me. Empress Navier really does fit her role as a strong and dedicated leader, and she doesn't take crap from anyone, not even her cheating husband or his bratty mistress. The main antagonist, Trashta, is super annoyingand no one likes her but that's the point! It helps the readers get a better idea of what the main character is dealing with. The villain can't be likeable in every story! (It's actually kind of funny to watch as she tries and fails to fill Navier's shoes.)

Navier goes through a lot in the first chunk of the manwha, but this makes it all the more satisfying to see her discover true happiness. The plot moves a bit slowly, but in a way that sets up the stage for the story's climax. The male lead is super endearing and cute, although Navier's chemistry with him is a bit awkward and it would be nice to see more details about his backstory

The art is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING, and the characters are beautifully detailed with lots of different outfits (I want to steal Navier's wardrobe). The artist hardly ever gets sloppy or lazy in the design, even with background characters! But it's still done in a way that the leads stand out.

Story: 8/10

Character building: 8/10

Art: 10/10

Overall enjoyment: 9/10

Obviously this was a really enjoyable read for a good while, fun revenge arc with a female lead who is smart, gorgeous and admirable against a male lead who's majorly selfish. You root for the female lead and the upcoming love interest, they seem cute and well suited. At some point though, the story starts to get a little convoluted. They're chucking in an amnesia arc just to get some tension and plot progression. You also come to realise that the new male lead, her new husband, is actually also a bit of a terrible person. He's great to her, but is a small bitevil. So, I dont know. Fell out of love with it, but would probably be enjoyable for a lot of readers.

I think the problem with this webtoon (and more generally with all historical webtoons) is that it's really long. We have a prologue where it is announced that the empress is going to divorce her chapter and when we start the story, it takes 80 CHAPTERS for her to get divorced, something we already knew was going to happen. I understand the need for context and so on, but this was too much. And then, I find that there are too many plots started for the webtoon to end soon and I'm seriously starting to wonder if I'm going to continue reading it. The storyis interesting, the drawings are beautiful... but there's a problem of speed in this webtoon which is starting to get on my nerves.

The manwha it's really good, but now that I've reached the 130 chapter I feel that the author is just trying to drag it on for a much longer time. The story was developing really good, basically you could have ended it with just one more season, but no, he did something really forced that I'm not going to spoiler that basically set back the story to the first 15 chapters. It feels like he's just dragging it to make more money. If he's already doing that he's probably going to force something else later on cause that's what he set up with this useless chapter, he createdat least other 200 chapters that are gonna make the story repetitive and boring.

It feels like a waste of time to read the rest

[More info about my review style can be found on my profile] ▶Summary and recommendation: ----------------------------------------------------------------- While not an Otome Isekai, it shares all the tropes of one. It is a good, albeit long and as of the time of writing; unfinished manhwa about politics and drama. I recommend it to fans of the genre as it still features tropes and subjects that may put off newcomers. ▶Story: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is prime victorian fantasy political intrigue and drama. With the story mainly focusing on court intrigue. The setting features a world with well thought out customs and lore that lends themselves well to the court intrigue, but itsuffers some from being overly generic. There is very little originality. With countries straight up being named after the cardinal directions "Southern kingdom", "Western kingdom", "Eastern empire".

Slavery is a big topic in this manhwa, and it is portrayed in a very positive light. Which is not an issue as it is a fictional story, but I think it is worh noting that nobody in this story, not villains nor hero oppose the slavery featured in the story. That may be an issue for many readers.

▶Characters: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The characters are as intriguing as they are despicable. While there are no good guys, the bad guys are sinificantly worse. They are all well written with deeper personalities than you usually find in stories in this genre, and their emotions are consistent and believable.

This manhwa features some of the most infamous characters in Otome Manhwa. In a harsh and rigid political system, even the protagonist has to be ruthless and callous to come out on top.

I do worry though for some of the readers who based on the comments they leave; may be a bit too cruel towards any woman who may go against our main character, even when said woman has legitimate morally good reasons to.

▶Artwork: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The art may come across as a bit sloppy in the beginning, and a too simple for the tone that the story is trying to set. I was personally not a big fan of it.
