It's still in early days and I can see why it might be a turn off for people cause it's rugby and it's not very well known but I will say it has potential to be great sports manga cause the sport of rugby is very hardcore, people constantly play with injuries and get injuries and it isn't for the faint of heart to play and each chapter gets better and better. You don't need to know how to play rugby cause it will teach ya, give it a chance! Art gets better aswell and the main character is interesting. How does someone go fromzero to hero in rugby

After watching some rugby animes like All Out!!, Try Knights and Number24, and as a rugby player, I can completely confirm this is the best rugby story in a manga/anime so far. Its a shame they ended this manga too soon beacuse it had a really big potential, exploring some aspects of rugby, like rugby 7, that other productions didnt even matter to talk a about it. Its true that is has some similarities to Haikyuu, but at this point I think its really hard to create a really good sport story and not founding something similar to Haikyuu, so dont let that idea discourageyou from reading this manga.

Beast Children is the first manga by Kento Terasaka, whom you may know of Green Green Greens, but that doesn't mean that his earlier work is any worse. Beast Children is a masterclass of character writing, they are all interesting and unique. Most characters don't get their development as this series was cut short by Jump, but the main characters are all very well written. The art is great and while there are a few panels where the faces of characters just look plain of, most of the series does look great. The story is pretty bland as this was clearly just a start of somethingway longer and because of this the ending is quite lackluster. But what is there is all great. It manages to suck you in and root for the main character almost instantly. The matches are all fun and this gives the series a lot of charm.

The biggest flaw of the series is again the abrupt ending, but that is not something at fault of the author. Even with the ending I would still recommend the series as it is a while short fun ride.

TLDR; Rugby manga with Haikyu vibes Disclaimer: I give 10's to bump up series that I believe deserve better scores. This series is not a 10. What you should expect if you read Beast Children: Oh look it's Hinata Speedy boy gotta run fast "I can't really relate to this level of energy, but I'm into it." "I can't really relate to this level of closet boy love, but I'm into it." Kinda off-putting art and character design, especially considering how new it is "When and how did I start feeling things? Oh right it's sports manga" I just started caring about and remembering the huge amount of characters you dumped on me andnow you're dumping another dozen?

WHERE'S THE ENDING?!

'spretty gud tho.

With an incipit similar to that of Haikyuu, a small boy who dreams of excelling in a sport full of giants, beast children tells the story of Sakura, a huge fan of rugby and mr Beast, Onotora Ikki. Sakura joins Haykkengawa, where she will be able to carve out a starting role thanks to her incredible speed and ability to reach the goal. In the manga we also have a tournament where Sakura and her team immediately go out against super favorites, but the match is still exciting. In addition to team captain Itsu, we also meet the son of the legend who inspired Sakura, the wonder ofRyusa, Yukito.

Yukito is in all respects Sakura's rival and in the decisive match between them, the son of art wins.

Beast children is an exciting sports manga, where the topic of training is discussed a lot and numerous notions about rugby are taught.

Unfortunately the story is short and only contains the beginning of Sakura's story in the world of rugby, but it can be an interesting read for those who want to approach sports manga or more specifically those that deal with rugby as a sport.
