Reviews for Happy Crappy Life

A story about two terrible human beings who complete each other. The art is fantastic, the characters are hilarious, and as a crude sex comedy it's pretty damn entertaining. There are a few chapters (a whole character, really) that revolve around 'funny rape' & downplaying the victim's misery, but if you can look past that you get some good comedy about 2 awful people and the friendship(?) they have. If you enjoy a character dynamic of two people who hate each other and regularly jump into each other's arms, this might be a good story for you. Fun fact, it temporarily becomes a supernatural manga around chapter5? That was fun.

I'm very familiar with a lot of Harada's works, so I knew what to expect. Happy Kuso Life follows two men who are an absolute comedic duo when together. Therehave been so many times where I actually laughed out loud with tears in my eyes. Kasuya and Kazuya are so perfect when together I recommend it just for their interactions alone.

Harada knows how to draw, that's for sure. The way they draw facial expressions, for comedic purposes or h-scene purposes, are so delicious I have to take a moment to stare respectfully at their art. I aspire to be at their level someday.

I rated it a 10 simply because I have never laughed as hard as i did when reading two characters interact more. Harada is so bizarre with their story telling and comedy that i cannot help but love these volumes.

I read Happy Kuso Life maybe once every year since I first found it when i was 18 and still get brought to tears from laughing.

Not the Harada I know and love. Though in all fairness they do have like two very nice and happy ones.

For this one, the black haired character is tormented by his perpetrator who raped him repeatedly in high school. It is played off as a joke, but it is NOT a joke to poor Kazuya.

Ryo, the perpetrator, is dumb as a sack of bricks and stupidly in love with Kazuya. He thought they were dating in highschool, so he did not realize he was raping Kazuya.

He plans on getting Kazuya to love him back as he's confused why Kazuya avoids him like the plague. Kazuya is terrified of him. For good reason. Poor guy does everything in his power to avoid Ryo, but is forced to be near him as later he gets a job where they work together.

All of this is played for laughs.

Overall, it is difficult to trigger me or make me feel uneasy when it comes to heavy subjects. So, if you don't care and want a funny story with top-tier comedy (in my opinion) give it a read.

If rape does bother you, best leave it be and read somethings else NOT by Harada. 99% Harada's stories are fucked up so CONTENT WARNING!!!! As far as i'm aware it's mostly in the first volume as a flashback, but there are a few scenes were he's assaulted by Ryo later.

So it got release in France so I might as well write a review on this incredible yaoi ! Story : We follow a blonde guy, Kasuya that had been exiled to the countryside. Here he meets his weirdo of a neighboor. Soon after his arrival, at a bar we learn the real reason why he's been exiled (won't tell anything to not ruin the joke). His neighboor had listened to his story and it shows that they have something in common. From there it's a slice of life kind of manga with many jokes. Art : Nothing to say, the caracters are beautifully drawn. The expressions are onpoint, the background very detailled and the H-scenes are very hot

So this is really the best part. They are all well presented and overall funny. Especially the two main guys, such a comedic duo

Here a short presentation :

-Kuzuya, the unemployed black haired dude. The looser of the two, and his name shares the same pronunciation as garbage/waste. His is also poor

-Kasuya, the exiled blonde dude. He is a very mean person and likes to mock Kuzuya. His name is written with the same kanji as garbage/waste

Enjoyement :

I cannot express how much it was good, the art, story, characters, jokes, H-scenes, EVERYTHING. I cannot tell either how much I laughed reading this, gosh this shit is too funny. Go read it.

Overall :

Loved it and will follow the next updates (update : the second volume did come out and it was the same quality as the first one)

If you're looking for: - A pairing made of two switches - A pairing that's bisexual - A pairing that fully embraces their degeneracy LOOK NO FURTHER!! These two degenerates aren't about to stick to strict bottom/top roles, they switch it up and they're damn open about being into men and being pegged by women. Finally a BL made for bisexuals. Finally a BL that breaks some clichés. Also consider: - this is a dark and absurd comedy, with little to no romance but with spicy and well drawn scenes that end up in a laugh.- Most jokes are about ass play, dildos or kinks

- Also contains rape as a recurring joke, it's actually quite graphic and serious as the victim talks about it as a trauma, while everyone else waves it off
