Here we have a story about the goofy Morinaga who has been hopelessly in love, for 5 years, with his egotistical-violent-grumpy- homophobe sempai, Souichi…ahem!, yes, that is The Tyrant. You guys maybe have seen lots of these stories, so, the conspicuous word here would be homophobe, this is not an euphemism, Souichi hates homosexuals deeply since his little brother was “taken” by one (figures, we have also a brother complex here). But isn't it kind of strange that in spite of knowing about Morinaga’s crush on him he acts like that didn’t happen at all? As expected, the "poor" goofy guy feels that there is nothing moreto lose and throws himself at what he thinks is his only life chance to do something with his yearning; he is going to grab onto it in any way he can. By the way, there is nothing to be taken for granted here! You are going to get surprised and you are going to be driven by the humorous situations, until you slowly get a grasp of the character’s virtues and flaws, until you get to understand their lives and that there is a lot more to them that adds complexity to the story.

The comedy takes a big part of the picture, still managing to deliver deep feelings at the bottom of every insane situation. The whole feeling of the story is completed with the eroticism produced by the uncertainty of every intimate situation. Weird? This is what I like the most! A homophobe guy can’t fall in love with another one from one day to other!! So, we have a very close to reality case here… everything develops at a proper pace.

The art is not what you would call beautiful,but it is indeed nice..it manages to be romantic, sexy and comical at the same time. It is a very unique style and it grows on you as the most fitting to the story. The character’s design is lovely, long hair and glasses, with an everlasting frown, for the grumpy and smart Souichi, perfect for a beautiful tyrant, and this cute puppy blushing face to Morinaga that manages to keep being cute ---plus sexy—when he starts acting a bit more lewd. Expressions are fine, they managed to convey the feelings along with the dialogues, that are not that deep but state what needs to be said, no more nor less.

You’ll even get to love that appealing tyrant--and his long hair, with all his flaws and quirks, as you get to know how honest and caring he is with the ones that are important to him; as well as you can’t help but sympathize with Morinaga’s nice and easygoing attitude, whose loyalty is really admirable, getting amused by his wholehearted and pervy behavior, while the whole time you are thinking “work hard Morinaga!”

If you are looking for a funny and interesting story, where you can see love develop against the society problems and prejudgments, even between the involved ones; a story with alluring situations and a real plot to support them, without ruining the proper pace of things, then this would be a nice choice!

Koi Suru Boukun~! It's like, so different from other yaoi manga!! Gosh, I'm sooo tired of that stereotypical crap, let's get some backbone into my ukes! Oh how shortsighted the thought is. Well then, let's go. Plot: Rape is love. Story: Contradicting homophobe has a gay best friend and a gay little brother. Said best friend is in love with him but "doesn't attempt anything because it might ruin their friendsh--" wait no, Morinaga has no qualms about raping the man he's been lusting after exclusively for the past so or so years when he gets an opportunity to do so. This was never about friendship and all thatother crap, he wanted his ass and was afraid of rejection.

All of the sudden one night, rape. The next day rape is comedy and there's wacky fights all over the place. This is one part I loathe about this kind of thing, either you make it dark and serious or a comedy. You tend to fail both when you're trying too hard at both.

The rest of this story is Tatsumi slowly falling in love with Morinaga because sex equals love, 'his body got used to him', and rape is a slap on the wrist so I forgive you this once. Let's do it more often. Oh, hold on. There's road bumps in our raburabu road to love, but don't worry through the power of sex- I mean love (they're basically the same thing) we'll get our happy ending.

Someone get this author a piece prize.

Character is very one dimensional. Forget that this is 'role-reversal' of generic yaoi stereo types and you get the same, even more frustrating stereotype. 'Tsuntsun'-beat the shit out of person because I know he'd never leave me uke and happy go lucky masochistic seme that will love his partner no matter what. Say, this doesn't sound familiar at all. Both of the main characters are bitches. Morinaga is a doormat (oh, except in bed) and Tatsumi is just a plain bitch (and a doormat in bed, by the way. Oh hey!).

What peeves me the most is that it's this kind of plot line that will satisfy people into believing this is what men are actually like. Nevermind the gay part, men are still men. They don't think about love or some other rabu shit 24/7, especially not mature college professors. The aftermath of rape maybe, but that kind of goes away rather quickly. These guys are castrated little dolls made up by an author with a knack at drawing and little idea of what really goes on in an adult world. (If you thought it was just sex, sex, sex, you're right but mostly wrong.)

What was I expecting when I first read this? Maybe a bit of realism. Something not 90% of all yaoi manga (aka; terrible). Turns out, this is the same rehashed shit fanfiction thrives on for unoriginal plot.

The Tyrant who Fell in Love in an entertaining romp sure to give you some laughs and leave you with a grin on your face. It features a pairing I've never been able to resist; an older, tsundere uke (Tatsumi) and a more reserved seme (Morinaga) who pursues the relationship. If you're a fan of the Egoist couple of Junjou Romantica, you're likely to enjoy this couple. So we have Tatsumi Souichi, a self-proclaimed gay-hater whose two favorite people in the world...are gay. He's a classic tsundere; loud, brash, hot-headed but also a bit shy and easily flustered. I think what makes this 'walking personality disorder'of a guy so loveable is that despite his gay hating ways, it really doesn't matter to him if you're gay or not. He still adores his little brother and cares about his only friend, Morinaga, even after he confessed to his unrequited love for him. He has denial down to an art form but is unflinchingly loyal to those he loves. He wears his heart on his sleeves; what you see is what you get.

On the other hand there's Morinaga, who's harbored an unrequited love for Tatsumi for five years. At first glance he's a bit pathetic, mooning over a hopeless love, reserved, quiet, polite. Unlike Tatsumi, he's got a few layers to his personality. He can be sneaky and manipulative and he has a tendency to overthink things. He pursues the romance with Tatsumi, pushing, pulling, dragging and coercing him into a relationship.

What makes it all work is the dynamics between the two; I can't say I ever feel bad for either one. They get what's coming to them and they honestly deserve one another. Tatsumi relentlessly abuses Morigina, physically and verbally, treating him like his assistant even outside of the university. Morinaga, who runs after Tatsumi while being perfectly aware of the man's considerable flaws, manipulates and tricks his straight friend into sex and breaks down his walls of denial.

The story...beyond what relates directly to the boys' personal lives there's not much plot outside of the relationship. I mean, Tatsumi is doing scientific experiments and Morinaga assists him and stuff, I guess? It's hardly the focus, but to be honest, at seven volumes, the chemistry is still there and it;s still as fun as it was in the beginning. The author doesn't just throw in a few sex scenes and suddenly it's all roses and everyone is in love and happy. No, Tatsumi's going gay kicking and screaming every relentless step of the way.

The art is good, though it's easy to get mixed up between characters since the designs aren't all that distinct. Morinaga and Tatsumi are very cute, I definitely dig the glasses and long hair. The sex scenes are smutty but not porny and I must say they're quite hot. If I must nitpick, it's that because of the nature of the relationship and Tatsumi's role of not exactly participating in the sex limits the variety of positions and fun things that can happen. Still the author manages to be creative and mix things up.

The Tyrant who Fell in Love is a nice little dramedy, and I'd recommend to any yaoi fan for a good laugh. The boys are funny, hot and likeable and the story is entertaining. It's a nice light read, nothing life changing or amazing, but enjoyable nonetheless.

I have only recently started reading this series and fell head over heels for it. It reminded me of "the book" that started my gay romance frenzy. It was a "straight romance" book that had a bromance on the side that unfortunately for me never blossomed. I love the "I am only gay for you" relationship where love has no boundaries or sexual orientation. I also don't normally go for the skinny types but this story was an exception: the dominant male being the uke lab research and scientists forbidden love gay only for you relationship Some straight characters with a strong role in the story And it's so darn funny!Funniest yaoi I have ever read yet the comedy doesn't take way from the intense romance scenes

I honestly can't get enough of this manga and hope it never ends and the next chapters can't come out soon enough...

My relationship with this manga is extremely complicated. The way Morinaga literally raped and only thinks about sex all the time (literally, for him, love is all about sex), it pissed me off. Not to mention that history never moves; when everything seems to be going, it comes back. The question is ... so why did I keep reading anyway? The answer is simple: Senpai. He is a lovely character (as well as handsome), watching him evolve was satisfying. And I became so attached to him that giving up this show was difficult. Today, however, I am officially putting this manga aside. Things could have beenbetter, and it makes me upset.

The author of this manga always has beautiful artwork, but the story and personalities of the characters in it did not make reading this an enjoyable experience. I read it for 4 hours starts and got to about Vol. 4. I was so fed up with how Souichi beats up emotionally and physically on Morinaga. I wanted to read it because of it's high rating (almost a 9/10), and because it was a recommendation from another manga that I really enjoyed but... Basically, this manga did not have enough mutual love in it for me. And all I could think about was how much I hatedSouichi and I wanted Morinaga to just leave. I must admit that the beginning was cute, but the repetitiveness of Souichi's actions just got on my nerves.

Even in the last chapter, he was still the same. How disappointing...

The first time I read Koisuru Boukun I was bored, searching for some kind of distraction. Too good I find this! Koisuru Boukun is, at least, one of my favorite yaoi mangas. The story is focused on Morinaga Tetsuhiro and his beloved but tyrannical Senpai, Tatsumi Souichi.They have know each other for almost 5 years and Souichi sees Mori like a friends, or better, "sort of friend". Pity Souchi is not only a "slave driver" but also a homophobic guy with brother complex (the little bro's gay and actually is living in America with his lover), too bad Mori's gay and seriously in love withhim. That's it, more or less.

At the beginning the two characters are very simple, thay can be determined by two or three adjectives, but that's not making it less enjoyable. And more the story continues more we discover about them. Like Morinaga's past or how Souichi can be "human" and not just an asshole, even if him try to hide it.

Guessing about the rape, you know, I do not like it. Initially I didn't care too much, but at the end of that act of betrayed I had felt truly bad for Souichi. And then for Mori. So for the both of the them.

The point is, it's a manga. Right, the rape it's not exactly something you can define educational and morally acceptable, but it's not as if, now that I've read it, I would rape someone. Nobody would do it, if not seriously disturbed.

For as I see it it's only a stratagem to make the story continues. Souichi would never admit his feelings for Mori, neither allow him to do anything and this wonderful story would never have existed. Only my opinion.

However, the mangaka mixes comedy and more serious parts with cleverness always finding new jokes, sketches and situation where the character are moved with ability.

The art isn't marvelous but is so nice and expressive. Love when they blush, when Souichi seems to care for Morinaga more and more and the funny parts! And generally all of it!

I would like to say at the onset, this is purely my feelings towards the manga and is not meant to be a review. This is super funny because everything in this manga is loud and raucous (especially the uke), but if we look past the jokes and the funny expressions, this manga is not actually that good at all... it in fact normalises ill-treating your partner - the uke treats the seme like garbage, literal garbage, to the extent that he gets happy for even the smallest piece of crumb that the uke throws his way... he has been in love with the ukefor five years (that's right, FIVE YEARS!). He is even forced to "blackmail" (not really) the uke, even after trying to communicate and ensure that the uke feels loved and not forced into a relationship, just because the uke needs an excuse to be with him. Shy is not the word you want to use to describe him; stubborn and cruel is a more appropriate adjective. The uke brushes off all these nice attempts made by the seme while trying simultaneously to get the benefits of having a boyfriend without putting the effort of love. He is just really toxic. He could in fact do more justice to the role of an evil boyfriend, rather than that of a ML in my opinion.

They are engaged in a relentless and vicious cycle througout the story - the seme tries to lure the uke into a relationship, the uke refuses (quite rudely, if I may add), the seme begins to think he is overbearing and starts to pull back, the uke throws him a small crumb, and the seme comes back wagging his tail like a puppy.

This crap continues for five volumes, *SIGHHHH*.

The uke never comforts the seme for the insecurities he has about the relationship (and should, given the nature of the relationship between them) and always acts as though he is doing a huge favour to the seme by allowing him to spoil him (like really? what kind of twisted mf are you to not even appreciate the love you recieve?)

Sorry, neither is your heart nor your body made of gold, for you to think so bloody high about yourself.

I would choose moringa over tatsumi any day. Atleast he attempts, and is quite human...
