Yes, I did read this because the anime was just announced, and yes, my time was spent perfectly well. I remember seeing chapters 1 and 2 of this pop up on /r/manga a long time ago and passed it up because I thought it was about a girl with a hand-puppet dinosaur. Not sure why I thought that, but it’s not important now. What is important is that the manga is actually about a gal and an unexplained dinosaur, which is my favorite kind of dinosaur. There’s not much to talk about, which is what makes this weird little read really fun. It’s just a girland a crudely-drawn dinosaur, and they kinda just do normal things like watch daytime television and get oden from a convenience store. The beauty is in the simplicity, and this manga is about as simple as it gets.

It’s fun, and I hope the anime captures that fun essence well.

Sometimes a random dino in life is all you need. This manga is pretty damn good and mixes in gyaru everyday life with basically anything, in this case, dinosaurs. The manga is not some kinda Family Guy thing where everyone forgets Brian is a dog until otherwise commanded to, it's literally just a dinosaur in the real world. Not so much actually doing dinosaur things like being a natural predator, but close enough to some degree. In return, you get a very chill world that's easy to enjoy, laugh at and feel attached to. It's just people and their dinosaur friends. I am led to believe thatmany will not enjoy this manga as I did, but you shouldn't come into this, with this weird status quo expectation, that this is some kind of grand life changing story, maybe in this case, some Iyashikei never seen before. It's just some girl in one of the weirder sides of Japanese subcultures and the life she lives with her friend dino she met one night. It's really fun.

I started this manga because I saw the promotions for it in Shibuya being posted online. I love gyaru fashion and the art style looked cute. The premise of this manga is that a gyaru girl wakes up to find a random dinosaur in her home. Do we know where this dinosaur came from? No but I think that adds to the fun energy of this manga. If you're looking for a heavy story driven manga, I don't think this is for you. It's more the day to day of Gal and Dino. The strongpoint of this manga is its characters. They were all socute and their interactions with each other were very heartfelt. This manga also made me laugh out loud multiple times. Dino is the star honestly as their antics while discovering the human world (and their love of ramen) are very entertaining. Tl:dr: If you're looking for a funny, light hearted slice of life about a gal and her dino I would give this manga a try.
