Story (4): This is our average Zombie-type Apocalypse, but instead of zombies we have giants chickens. The plot is very straightfoward, MC must save his brothers and sisters when all the adults became chickens. This manga have a very weird passing and sometimes the story skip some stuffs. The ending is rushed in a point MC get healing powers and start to heal deadly wounds. I'm joking a little here, but I guess the mangaka didn't had the time to deal with the ramifications of the characters being wounded so he basically forgot about it. Art (5): The characters are draw a little inconsistent. The human characters are draw inthree types:

Toddlers - They are draw very chibi and weird. They really look like from a different manga.

Adults - I guess the mangaka wanted to go with "adults are evil", so they are draw very creepy. They remind me the weirds faces that Onizuka from GTO does.

Teenagers - Like the average manga characters.

The background, most of the time, is just a real life photo black and white.

A very important thing to mention about the art is how it got worse with time. In the first chapters everything is very detailed, but the last chapters stuffs looks like a bunch of scribbles.

Apparently this was caused because the gore was making some people uncomfortable. Sadly, this really damaged the art of the manga.

Characters (3):

Most of characters are forgettable and/or useless. They are basically a waste of cast, but let's talk about 3 of them.

Tora: the mangaka, for some reason, really want to paint him as a bad guy. It even a little infuriating because he is apparently the only one capable to do the smart decisions.

Aki: she's the token girl, therefore she's useless. She's just here because I want to mention the scene which she slap Tora because he kill a guy who tried to rape and kill her. Yes, we are dealing with this type of person.

Yuu: He's the Main Character (MC). And he's a Emiya Shirou, in other words he want to save everyone include the guy who tried to rape and kill his sister. To be honest, I hate this type of character in this type of story.

Enjoyment (5):

It was nice in the beginning like any manga, and as the story goes you start to see the flaws. I mostly liked because I like Zombie-type Apocalyptic stories, but it's really not worth it.

Overall (4+5+3+5 = 4.25 = 4):

Very cliche story, bad written with a rushed ending.

Terrible characters and a ok designer.

The best part about this manga is the concept, honestly. I mean, people turning into human eating chickens? Sign me up. The fact I read Fourteen by Kazuo Umezo (1990) also played a big part in it. The MC in that manga was chicken George after all. Sad to say, other than the premise and very few scenes sprinkled throughout the manga got me interested in the final product. The art style doesn't lend itself to be able to present horrifying gore. Neither is the comedy that good in it, especially as the story kinda drags on for too long. The story is also terribleand only 1 plot point where the backstory of a villain and the purpose of the chickens is revealed was amusing.

I only recommend this to people who like mediocre manga to laugh at for whatever reason you might have or if you need more chicken in your life!

(PS. Go read the story of Chicken George iin the manga Fourteen instead you plebs!)

This manga is making me mad as hell because the early chapters where a psychotic man makes a lot of deals in order to survive and his face is freaking annoying to the point that I want to stop reading it however when that mug face was gone for awhile I kept reading. I love the chicken (zombie) apocalypse but not the main characters due to their actions/decisions for being stupid. Plus the art style is usual and as each chapters goes by it went downhill. Story: 3/10 The Chicken apocalypse where adults turned into chickens were amazing however as I said the main characters decisions aren'tthat smart. I hate to say it but the little children in this manga can't control themselves and a burden for being loud. Plus the villain is f*ck up and no censored at all of gore.

Art: 3/10

A typical anime style for teenagers.

A chibi style for little kids.

A realistic face for adults.

Gets sloppy as the story progresses and I give up.

I can't say much the following because it's all messed up and I should read something better than this. I'm sorry but a good manga should have characters that are smart in this situation and I swear people who have huge imagination can make this story awesome with a plot twist.

Right off the bat, I want to emphasize how incredible the art is. The mangaka has a very detailed and dynamic style that works great for horror. While their artwork does suffer a bit from "same face syndrome", the characters are distinguished enough that it does not have a significantly negative impact on the story. Their usage of panels and scenery is absolutely top-notch as well, with many 'transition' scenes reminding me of Murata's redraw of One Punch Man. The mangaka is not afraid to include graphic details (for better or worse) and each page is drawn with plenty of little details to notice. Unfortunately, theart is just about all the praise I have for this manga. The characters have interesting premises that are never fully developed. Early on, there's a contrasting dynamic established between the main characters Yuu, an optimistic hero-type character, and his younger brother Tora, a more pessimistic anti-hero-type character. While this dynamic is brought up every few chapters, it is never expanded upon, leaving the characters feeling very flat and static. The manga introduces a multitude of characters but they barely have any presence, with the most prominent examples coming to mind are the main character's numerous younger siblings. These characters tend to suffer one of two fates: they are neglected, left as little more than background characters; or they are killed off after a couple of chapters. Character deaths are not inherently a bad thing, and the mangaka certainly tries to use most of them to play up the drama and create some more worldbuilding. However, many of these deaths feel rushed - neither the characters 'nor us, the readers, are given time to process the deaths or the implications surrounding said character deaths.

All of this results in a beautifully drawn manga with a decent premise that is never fleshed out. The characters are not particularly appealing and the world is uninteresting. As I finished the final chapter, I was not compelled to take a moment and think about the series; it felt like another uneventful occurrence that you see and move on from. And frankly, it's rather unfortunate. The mangaka clearly has the artistic skills and their writing isn't terrible. I feel that if they had more time and support, Bougyaku no Kokekko could have been much more developed and become a solid B-rated horror.
