Reviews for She's Adopted a High School Boy!
Back to MangaFeels good fluffy and wholesome manga. There isn't much to the story, it's basically what the title would suggest. However, this is not a bad thing since to me it's not about the story, but rather is about the mood that the characters set through their interactions. The mood is very calming and fluffy and it's a perfect read for when your feeling drained. "Danshi Koukousei wo Yashinaitai Oneesan no Hanashi" or otherwise known as "The Story of an Onee-San Who Wants to Keep a High School Boy" is a nice relaxing read. I'm looking forward to reading more as it is released and I hopethat you will give it a try too.
To start this review, I need to say that I am a slice of life fan. Now, lets continue. I know that slice of life often is portrayed as a show with no real plot and that's the way I'd categorize this. There's a large chance that the characters may realize their feelings for each other but the fact of the matter is that in 200 chapters there's been little to no development even in the characters. I personally was able to sustain myself on Slice of Life due to the character development that's usually apparent but nothing has changed. I cannot bring myself to read another 200chapters or so of literally no substance but I probably will anyways without knowing and damn do I really love/hate this manga.
I give it a 5. It's not good it has no development but it's fluffy and warm and I'm a sucker for it.
362 chapters? Wow, that's.....more than many and I just caught up with the final translated chapter. The story itself isn't anything special and the MC himself isn't worthy by any means. He just happened to be on a streak of bad luck until he stumbled upon an Onee-san who loved him. Her occupation and job are a mystery, even at this moment, I don't even know her true background. All I know is she was willing to love him, care for him, feed him, and baby him for everything else. That's the whole story? I'm just impressed the series managed to keep it going for that long. This manga is decentbut truthfully it's nothing mind-blowing, it's just detailed and sticks to the usual romantic comedy.
The ending if you read it yourself, hits quite hard and serves as a great reminder for us to "never rush things."
It's a manga that makes me laugh a lot when I remember it because of so many situations and knowing that there were so many people who tried to translate it, but seeing how the love story was very slow, to say the least, and in many episodes it was one step forward and two steps back, they decided to give up on translating it, haha. I thought it was a very good, simple drawing and a harem story with quite special characters. The mangaka has another work that is almost the same, except that it is about a rich high school girl and theprotagonist is also a person who tries to resist the girl's charms but gradually gives in. The onee-san is a complete mystery...
