I'm kind of surprised that there is no review for this manga yet. So, in order to fix that, I'm going to write it one. Mangaka-san is a humorous take on a proud-panties-loving mangaka's interactions with his assistants/editors/co-mangakas. Being episodic in nature, usually composed of short chapters of 8 pages, it doesn't have story arcs. But, what it lacks on plot, it makes up with situations that give the reader a glimpse on what a mangaka's life is about. Piecing these different situations together and we get a clearer picture of what this manga is all about. The illustrations might look simple but it is clean. Itdoesn't really have to look badass or complicated or anything. It's fine the way it is. Being easy to read is a strength that helps this manga's case.

Although the characters in this manga can be classified into stereotypes (tsundere, loli, etc.) they still have just enough depth and a few wrinkles on them to make us care about them. Plus, they cater to a lot of different audiences so I'm positive that everyone's going to find someone they like and root for.

The best thing about this manga is that every chapter is interesting and enjoyable. You might even spend more time laughing than actually reading the thing. Sure, some of the jokes are on the perverted side... But, who cares? It's very, very hilarious. I'm sure you'll find yourself laughing out loud as you read this manga.

All in all, Mangaka-san is a simple manga that caters to those who just want to laugh and have fun. Do you want to remove stress, forget about your troubles and enter a state of funny that will make you laugh like a crazy person? Then, by all means, read Mangaka-san!

If you want some good laugh, or need some entertaiment, you should try Mangaka-san to Assistant-san. This series actually very simple one, it's only had 7-9 pages per chapter, with no actual plot, no drama, tear-jerking and such. Mangaka-san to Assistant-san focused on comedy and daily life of panty-lovers mangaka with his assistant, editor, and other that are related (such as chief editor, rival). The story mainly focus around panty-mangaka named Aito Yuuki and his assistant, Ashisu Sahoto. Aito really loves drawing panties. He even collected various kind of panties. "Panties are all men dreams." that's what he said. This series labeled as ecchi, but Ithink If you didn't like ecchi, that's not really a problem. It's not 'that' ecchi actually (for me at least). If you compared to another ecchi manga, I think this one below standard. Though they often use perverted jokes, but that doesn't really matter I believe.

The jokes was funny, and somehow fresh. It will never bore you, and it will often make you laughing alone, and maybe sometimes you will mistaken as someone crazy by outsiders (that happen to me). And it will probably make you forget about time and another unrelated things.

As I mentioned above, this is really a simple manga, not just in term of story, but the art too. That's not make it bad, it's the opposite, that's what make this series good. The artwork suit perfectly with the atmosphere of the manga. And actually, the artwork was quite good and clean. The character was well made, and the background too. It's comfortable to be seen.

In term of enjoyment, I really enjoyed this series. You should try too if you like manga that focused on comedy. Though I can't guaranteed that the jokes will suit your taste. Just try it yourself, it's better that way.

Just the same old trash. Over the course of the 10 years I've taken Anime and Manga seriously, I've found very few series that I don't enjoy to some degree. But during the last few years, I've discovered a few that just don't sit well with me, as well as a few tropes. "Mangaka-san to Assistant-san to" is yet another empty ecchi series that comes across as tasteless and creepy. The main character (Yuuki Aito) is just a sad pathetic pervert that you can't root for. All he does is bitch that he can't touch women and all that's on his mind is panties. 90% ofwhat goes on in the Manga is him perving on the female cast. What a scumbag.

I have nothing against ecchi series if there is more to it than just ero. Maho Sensei Negima, Seikirei, To Love-Ru, Rosario + Vampire, Love Lucky, Love Hina, Love Comedy Style, even Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou which started off as a hentai series, all have more depth, story, and better characters.

It really bothers me that great series like "Maoyuu Maou Yuusha" get blasted by the internet for having a woman with large boobs, but terrible series like this cruse under the radar getting good reviews.

If you're looking for fun series with ecchi, do not look for it here. There isn't even any fan-service which defeats the point of making the cast mostly female with the main character a perverted man. The idea is totally fine, but it's horribly executed. Terrible.

Very simple art featuring a very perverted main character and his "harem". The art may be simple but it's perfect for what the story is. It never goes too complex or too clean, it's a perfect mix. The main character can be annoying as he is towards all of the girls present in the manga. However, he is balanced out thanks to the other characters that deal with him. His main assistant is the straight man, which ends up with her developing a "sadist" reputation within the manga world. There is a girl that fulfills every manga stereotypes but they all work in this crazedworld.

There are some moments of seriousness but it never lasts long thanks to the main characters perverse nature.

tl;dr: A manga with little plot but good paced hilarious antics with a likable cast. This manga is a simple gag manga that isn't a straight 4-koma, though it does have some of those, but feels pretty similar in that it has incredibly short chapters, around 10 pages, that each tell a small story that's centered around a few comedic events. This comedy does get somewhat repetitive, but because the pace of the manga is so fast it never really feels all that stale and constantly hilarious, so overall it is quite solid and enough to hold up the manga on its own. The majority of thecomedy is centered around the cast of characters and their unique personalities. These characters are generally pretty flat with only a few defining traits, but the manga makes good use of them, especially by having a lot of interesting interactions between the various characters. It also feels like the author did their best to make every character likable, in that it feels like with a lot of characters they start out with a certain character trait as the focus, but if they're ever shown with another character trait and that seems to work really well that instantly becomes their defining character trait. Despite it making characters somewhat inconsistent at times, I would have to say that this worked pretty well because I found essentially the entire cast pretty likable. If this was a more plot focused manga this may have been an issue, but it's all comedy with essentially no plot so it's really not a problem at all.

Ultimately, there really wasn't much of any plot at all. There's some development here and there with Sena and some development at the end with Ashisu that serves as the core of the ending. Still, all in all I wouldn't call this plot good and it doesn't feel like there was enough substance to it for it to be that significant. The art was reasonably good and worked well with the tone and style of the manga.

The sequel series was similar but kind of pointless. You might as well read it since it's so short but don't expect much.
