Review time! Alright, so to start off, Yancha Gal is a story about a gyaru hottie teasing your standard, socially incompetent nerdy MC. You can relate it to Takagi-san or Nagatoro-san, and I'd say those comparisons would be good because this manga is every bit as good. If you don't know what the genre is, imagine this: a cute girl teases a boy whose weaknesses she knows exactly how to exploit, and who she has a not-so-secret crush on. Boy is typically socially inept in one way or another, allowing you the reader insert yourself into his position and imagine different decisions. That said, I'dsay the MCs in the genre are more pitiable than insufferable, you'll rarely find yourself actually frustrated with any of the characters in these easy reads.

But, how is Yancha Gal different? Well, first, Anjou is a gyaru - which means she's sexualized and a delinquent. To draw a gyaru effectively, the art has to be sexy, and I'd definitely say Yancha Gal hits the mark. I'd wager the artist has drawn his fair share of doujinshi/eromanga, and if he hasn't he should. Second, Anjou is quite direct about what she likes - why she is can be up to your imagination, but she doesn't hide the fact that she likes Seto. Seto might be too dense to realize that, and thus the comedy. Third, I think something else that's different is Seto - like any MC in the genre he has to be incompetent, but he's not completely unaware of what's happening, and he has his own ways of showing his affection towards Anjou. Which, all in all, means that the story is a little "sweeter" than others of the genre. Finally, the story actually follows something of a 'plot' unlike most stories in the genre. Each chapter follows on from the previous to some extent, there's a clear sense of time passing as the story progresses, and later chapters will reference events of previous chapters. I think the plot focuses around Seto trying to figure out what he wants to do with his life. It's not difficult to follow for a casual reader, and I'd say it adds a little more reward and depth to the characters relationships since they seem to be growing as the story continues, which is nice.

I'd say if you already like the genre, this is a fantastic addition. If you've never tried it but like romantic comedies, definitely check it out! Also, if you're a person of culture that enjoys your fair share of sexy girls drawn in black and white, chances are you'll be entertained by this.

The long story short is that this manga (so far) probably shouldn't be read for the plot. The art is nice and eroge, the chapter per chapter story is usually pretty formulaic, a few side characters actually have some interesting development, but the main two are completely surface level stand in's for the reader which does not make for compelling story. Honestly, if they had at least one or two chapters that broke the main characters formula every now and then, this would be one of my favorite eroge manga, and there does seem to be small moments where it could use expectations to it'sadvantage, but 42 chapters in, and there's only been the most miniscule glimpse of that happening. There is a b storyline with side characters however that actually seems to have an idea it's exploring, and when put on the background of the main 2 sexually charged and repressed characters, it shines so brightly, and it's done in only a few chapters.

This formula is the same every time.

protag:"Hi obvious love interest, x, y, or z is happening" love interest:*does something vaguely or deliberately sexual or even just physical to protag* protag:"WOAAAaAAAaaAHHHH!!! LOVE INTEREST!? WHAT ARE YOU DOOOIIIIINNNG?!?" love interest:"we should be a couple.............. jk :P" protag:"gorsh, stop messing with me, I know I suck"

There's not even really any background or motivation for these two to act the way they do. I mean, sure, the art is cute, but the speech bubbles practically have no point. I could not read them, write what they're basically saying down, then read them and have at least 80% accuracy. But the author has shown that they can do a good character driven story in this very manga, so I'm holding out in case that this will play out with some kind, any kind, just a sign of character development, but I'm not so hopeful.

If that's what you're looking for too, go read or watch 3d girl, it's basically this premise, but characters have depth.

A Nerd, aka The True Gentleman & A Gyaru, aka The Hot Blonde Girl sitting in front of him/ School Romance/ ECCCCHI !Warning: stiff-causing manga, might cause some diabetes as well Hands down, reading this makes me feel that I am the one being teased. There are so many “sexually suggestive dialogues” and “seductive cleavages”… SOS!!! I don’t think I can hold my pants any longer… (Jk ;D ) *Minor Spoiler: Story: 9 This is a normal school romance, but it is not a forever highschool romance as the time [amazingly!!] moves. We can see that small details metioned in certain chapters are giving hints about potentialfuture plots. Thus, this deserve a good score; moreover, I will give the author some extra points for creating those innovative erotic scenes [not sex!!no sex!!!sorry for you disappointment :P ]…

Art: 10

Omg, the illustrations of Anjou, the female MC, are too much for a man to handle... I can feel the "fuego" on the lower half of my body whenever I read. The expressions of Seto, and Anjou are on point as well. The background is very detailed!

Character: 9

I love the gentleman setup for Seto, as it provides the pure love+cheesy vibe for this manga. Anjou, on the other hand, will set up sexually arousing attacks [as if we don't know that she likes Seto already...] toward Seto or the readers [ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ] whenever she wants until … forever…

Enjoyment: 10

Binged read 36 chapter immediately, will read this manga whenever it is updated!

Overall: 9.4->9

Personally, this manga is a must read, actually has a great chance to be an anime, Anjou Angel Anjou Angel Anjou Angel [hahaha, get it? ;D ], still too early to give it a 10 [since it is still relatively new]~~~

P.S. This is my first time seeing a mangaka who excels at drawing bras, not panties \(*゚∀゚*)/ (do not recall seeing any panties in this manga)

I’ve been both Seto and Anjou in different relationships across my life. When I was younger it was so difficult to share how I felt romantically but I yearned like Seto. As I got older, I learned how freeing it was so be open with your emotions and affections like Anjou. To really show someone you care about them deeply. Saying cute shit, saying corny things. Making your partner feel wanted and overcoming any mental obstacles that hinder you from doing that. For me, this story is about that. It might be silly that a rom com manga helped me fully make this connection, but it’sbeen an extremely valuable experience.

I really didn’t know what I was in for when I started.

As many have shared, the beginning is a bit slow. Some lines might be recycled here and there. Seto for the first couple dozen chapters might be hard to deal with but…you will be rewarded handsomely for your patience.

The jokes hit hard. The feelings are relatable. The art and reacts are amazing. And honestly, the community of people who like this manga are hilarious. No matter what shit illegal website I use to read it everyone in the comments make my hysterical.

You may have a different experience, but the story is definitely worth a read!

well, lets start things of with some one word review CUTE!!! tbh this manga is just like that one manga where a girl tease a guy and all the fun happens. but somehow, i enjoy this more though. its just so enjoyable and cute to see both of the mc doing fun things together and somehow i just want to ship them. i hope they do that at the end of the manga. well for the story, i guess its just a normal slice of life story where you get to know what the mc doing each day. as expected from this kind of manga. i mean youcant really do it in any other way right?

for the art, i must say its quite a bit erotic, lol. i mean the art is great, and tbh its just look like any other manga. but somehow, i quite like it and it fits with the genre of the manga so, its a plus point.

characters are normal, we have the guy who got teased and we have the girl who teases the guy. just a normal thing to see, but how they interact is just cute. lets just ship them guys, come on.

enjoyment, i must say this honestly and damn i enjoy reading it ! it's just relaxing and cute to see both of the mc doing fun things in life. or maybe i just feel like i want to go back to highschool and have that care-free life.

overall, i enjoy this manga and looking forward for more chapters! please ship them please

Boy this one is real good. So essentially I've been on a streak of "affectionately aggressive girl pursues dense boring guy" type mangas (Sono Bisque Doll, Akutsu-san) and it's got a pretty simple formula that they all follow. I'm just a sucker for this sort of thing so I've been enjoying them all quite a bit. I picked this one up recently, thinking it would be more of the same. It really outshines the rest though in my opinion. I found myself becoming overwhelmed with emotion multiple times on multiple arcs. The premise of these stories is always a bit far-fetched, but this one does areal good job of outlining the characters and making you believe what they're saying about each other. These characters have moments of conflict and struggles that are relatable for almost anyone out there. Both characters grow, albeit at an very slow pace, in a way that's believable and encouraging. It leaves you with a sense of anticipation that you can be confident will pay off soon. Both have admirable traits, as well as things that will frustrate you about them. These traits are what really allow you to see yourself in them and fall in love with them.

I led with what I think is the strongest part of this manga because I really want to encourage others to pick this one up. I haven't even touched on the art, which is incredibly well done and in a style that is somewhat unique. I appreciate how the mangaka was able to his characters beautifully without having to rely on much fanservice stuff.

Essentially this has become my most anticipated romance manga at the moment. I really encourage others to give this one a try.

The art style is surely cute and I enjoyed reading this for the most part. Yet I felt like it had too many "erotic" or provocate scenes without context, seemingly in the effort to differentiate this manga from other similar works. Don't get me wrong, I'm much fond of erotica in general, but for this manga, it didn't make much sense to me why Anjou san is so into the nerdy MC. Unfortunately the plot hole kept distracting me from genuinely enjoying the story. Would be a nine star if there was a more convincible plot that explains her strong affinity to Seto

Story: 6 Art: 10 Characters: 10 Enjoyment: 10 Overall: 8 Honestly, I came for the ecchi and stayed for the beautiful feelings of comfort this manga gave off. The story is as cliche as a gal manga gets; a shy boy and a delinquent girl hit it off. Seto, the shy guy, is very much your typical high school kid that's doubtful, single, and uncomfortable in his own skin. Despite Anjou, the extroverted gyaru, giving 1000s of hints per day that she's into Seto, Seto is uncomfortable with falling in love. Overall, there isn't much of a plot; it's pretty much just watching these two fall in love which isas minimal as a love story gets.

The art and the characters are so fantastic though! The author is really gifted with the ability to draw characters in every scene of every circumstance with flawless energy. You FEEL the excitement and danger that Anjou gives off. You CHERISH the joy and companionship Anjou brings to Seto. You CRY when Seto feels lonely and BAM, outta no where, Anjou comforts Seto (and you FEEL the her warm personality). As a reader, I feel so immersed because of how well drawn and emotionally connected every chapter feels.

Also the characters are unique in their own way. Although a bit cliche, Anjou and Seto have really special personalities. Anjou, although a gyaru and delinquent, is super caring and loves to tease. She's very much in love with Seto and you just feel it through Anjou's actions. Seto, although a very traditional lad, is a conscious and daring individual. He constantly steps out of his circle of comfort and ends up having fun with Anjou each time. You can feel his self-conscious edge gradually release as he spends more time with her.

Overall, the everything conveyed in each chapter of the manga is literally palpable. If I could taste this manga, it would be regular comfort food that is just straight up delicious.

Overall: 8/10 The start of this manga is rough, extremely rough. They made the male MC the most pathetic "thing" imaginable. I almost dropped it right off the bat. But I kept reading because I liked the art and the female MC wasn't a bully like a certain other manga. Characters 10/10: The thing about having a pathetic male MC is that there is tons of room for growth, and the male MC develops phenomenally. The male MC went from being pathetic to and actually confident person. He also isn't the only character that developed well throughout the series. The thing that separates this manga fromthe rest of the teasing genre is the character development. All the characters are fully fleshed out and change throughout the story in ways that are understandable.

Art 8/10: The art is a bit jarring at first, but I really like it. It's not as good as something like berserk (kinda hard to beat that art though) but it's also very far from being bad.

Story: 9/10: More progress in 100 chapters than a different manga had in 300+ chapters, to say the least. The story is pretty good, though.

Overall, if you can get past the first 20 ish chapters where the male MC is a horrible excuse for an MC then you'll enjoy this manga. It's not for everyone but it's pretty good.

This gets me so hot every time I read it, my heart is beating fast and honestly no other manga affects me this way so ya. Funny, great characters, hype moments, limitless conflict and spicy romance. Honestly, that's all you need. Favorite manga hands down and its not even close. Also, the art is really good. It makes you go back and stare at it just to appreciate it and gives the series a lot of reread value. I really don't know what else to write here but they said to make it longer but lets be honest nobody wants to read a review that isa hundred pages long. It is also annoying to summarize the plot in a review, why do people do this?

In my years of reading manga, I've devoured tons of shoujo and romance, but I never would have expected that a school ecchi/eroge art manga would portray one of the healthiest and most charming relationships in the genre. For different reasons, I feel like I could recommend it to both ecchi and shoujo romance readers alike. Readability: 10 To begin with, as light as this manga feels - not even reaching 30 pages per chapter - it's like a breath of fresh air if you're tired of overly dramatic school romances. The format of "short chapters, different story on almost every chapter" makes it an easy read, however, you follow Seto's quick evolution both as a person and in his relationship with Anjou as there are some arcs that are carried through the entire story. Character evolution is crazy good on this manga, but especially for Seto.

Main characters: 10

Even though I started this manga because I love the "bully girl" dynamic in relationships, this one feels different. The "bullying" part is not in a kinky or humilliating way, but more like a sexual/romantic tease from Anjou to Seto. Regarding their initial friendship, she's respectful to him from the very first moment they meet, she wants him to be seen. Seto is a sweet gentleman from the beginning as well. It's a charming couple dynamic.

Side characters: 9

Side characters have an evolution as well. Even though some characters may appear as sterotyplical ecchi characters at first, you get to know them as the story progresses, and chapters centered around them feel as interesting as that of the main couple. Their personalities and problems feel so different, and their interactions are really interesting.

Art: 10

What can I say about the art... I adore when artists have a distinguished style. It's the case for Katou Yuuichi. His characters feel lively, pretty, different to each other, showing different faces, looks, eyes, vibes. His female characters are also very different from each other: all of them are incredibly pretty but have really different styles and body types. As a fanservice-y manga, you get to see lots of anatomy and it feels different for every character. I was also surprised at how good the artist is at drawing any piece of clothing. Heck, this is a must read manga if you're a fashion lover. Clothes are detailed. Outfits are simple, but stylish. Not even sexualized, just pretty. My girl Anjou really knows how to match clothes.

As mentioned before, I recommend it even if you're not into the bully girl trope.

Simple Rom Com but with lots of great art I bet youve seen tons of reviews on it. Just read it. I dont want to spoil anything but it has great art and a fmc and mmc and it hasnt been axed and gets updated weekly. The artist likes to include suttle details and memes throughout the manga to express their funny side which I really enjoy. Its the kind of manga you read and enjoy brainlessly when your tryna just relax after along day. You can also invest your time in it and wait for the next chapter as the art just pulls you in andthe adventure the characters take and slowly grow closer over the progress of the story

Spoiler Free Review I know the score I give is unrealistic but this show deserves everything their is to be offered in praises. All characters are as sweet as vanilla ice cream. They all have unique characteristics and love interests. The biggest quality of this show is showing character development with utmost importance, like if the two leads are going to say something very important then they give a special panel of high class drawing to it to make it extra beautiful and worth gazing it again and again. If at any point you think this is getting cringe you would be surprised how good thewriter uses cringe to his advantage and turns it into a special moment between the characters.

I dropped the show at chapter 10 but came back for some reason and that was the best decision I made because this show is as good as Kaichou wa Maid Sama ,Working ,Wotakoi, Tsurezure children

Just start reading it and chapters will end at the speed of light.

Well, I've read this twice. Good read for two reasons; 1. the plot actually moves forward. they get older as time goes on, they learn and grow up together. continuous plot mixed in with flashbacks and side stories make for a well written story (as far as web comics go lmao) 2. the characters are fleshed out and feel real. yes, some of them have corny problems or personality traits but the aforementioned flashbacks and side stories really help to provide useful background information to give reasons as to why characters act a certain way. nearly every character is wholesome in a way, and the onlyreal issue i have with this is that the MC is literally the most braindead dork i have seen in a manga. like doesnt get super obvious hints (ik that this is a staple of these types of manga but still) and when he does, he acts like the female MC could never love a guy like him (even though she has told him basically straight up that she has feels for him)

all in all, a very good read, probably in my personal top 3 for SOL manga. will definitely continue to read as updates come out

For your bog-standard pretty girl-teases-nerd format, this is probably about as good as it can get. There's actual progress, and you actually get to see the fruits of that progress, which is nice and all-too-uncommon. Also the chick isn't a raging sadistic sociopath like Nagatoro, which is also nice. The real secret sauce, I think, is that the teasing isn't the main focus, here- their relationship is. Dude doesn't get caught up in trying to "win," and girl never puts her own pride or stubbornness above conveying her feelings. The progress of the relationship is steady and (relatively) believable- the series takes its time toestablish the characters and how they interact, and for the most part it pays off.

I will say though that Anjo kinda feels like a Manic-Pixie-Dream-Gyaru sometimes. We're never really told what exactly she sees in this guy, and we're sure as hell not shown it either, because dude has basically NOTHING to offer. Nonetheless, she's still here to be super into him, help him get over his (infinite) hangups, and want to touch him anyway. The story focuses entirely on his growth (or vain attempts at growth), how the relationship helps him. If you're looking for a two-sided love story, you won't find much of one here. And that's all fine, really. Neither character has much of a personality, but that's fine too. This is clearly meant for dudes to self-insert into.

Except the issue with THAT is that I'd rather be single and alone than be ANYTHING like this protag, even if he IS getting laid. Seto is an absolutely insufferable limp sack of hangups, with no real satisfactory explanation for said hangups. He has exactly zero redeeming qualities- he has nothing he wants to do (save date Anjo, and it takes him long enough to figure even that out), nothing he's good at, and nothing he enjoys (and no: "Studying" doesn't count as an interest or a talent- sorry, Seto). He's constantly pathetic, and none of that would even really be all that bad if he wasn't SO SELF-PITYING AND TOTALLY RESISTANT TO CHANGE. He is CONSTANTLY ruminating on how awful he is, and how pathetic and lame and undeserving of anything nice in life he is, and yet he staunchly REFUSES to do anything about it. Anna needs to literally drag him kicking and screaming through every development milestone for both their relationship AND his personal growth.

That aside, though, if you like shonen/seinen romcoms, you'll probably like this. It one of the better modern ones, and the art is... interesting. I'm kinda torn on the art style- I don't dislike it, and it's very expressive, but I kinda find all the characters just... not attractive. Which is fine, really. As long as they find each other attractive, that's all that really matters, but I was SHOCKED to see other people referring to this series as "ecchi" or "eroge." To each their own, I guess.

I don't write reviews, but I feel like this manga deserves more attention. Story - 9 Like everyone else has stated, on the surface level this is very similar to other teasing manga like Takagi-san and Nagatoro. But in my opinion, this one outshines the others in many aspects. First of all, there is actual progress being seen at a good pace. While it is a Slice of Life, time actually progresses and you get to see the characters grow and change as they experience more. The romance does move and we also get to see the motivations behind it, now they aren't extremely deep and nuancedinitially, but there seems to be continuous development as characters get to know one another.

Overall: I love seeing the characters change and improve as they make mistakes, experience more, and actively try to do things that they may not be comfortable with at first. It's a Slice of Life, but represents life a lot more realistically in regards to development.

Art - 10

If you can't tell from the cover, the art is gorgeous. Not only is the art amazing, but the fashion styles drawn are crazy good. The ecchi scenes are drawn beautifully and my love for this art might make me biased for this manga compared to others.

Overall: I can't get enough of the fashion and art style. The suggestive panels are God-tier (no I didn't read this for the ecchi, but I sure enjoy it).

Character - 9

In my opinion, the characters are very realistic, with a few exaggerated points for comedic effect (or something). I have seen real people, encompass many of the traits of the characters in this manga, even me. Many knock on the denseness of the MC, but in all honesty, I find that to be quite realistic. Due to the MC's social ineptness, it's hard for him, in the moment, to really know what's happening. The teasing doesn't add to the understanding. The MC hasn't experienced enough social interaction to catch these 'obvious' signs so his denseness is justified.

Overall: What I love the most about this manga, is that the characters all have their clear strengths and weaknesses and support each other with their strengths. They all seem to recognize their own short comings, or at least realize when they make a mistake. It changes them for the better and I'm loving it. One guy is a bit creepy though (but I've met similar). Would like to type more about each character but don't want to spoil and type an essay.

Enjoyment - 10

It was too cute to stop reading, I had to binge it.

Overall - 10

- Gorgeous art

- Good plot pacing

- Realistic characters who actually grow like real people and have goals

- (I don't care too much about this) Justified reason for liking people

- A lot of fun to read the characters having fun

- Romance has development (but they're basically dating anyways)

I know I can't do this manga justice, but it's actually such a wonderful story. I don't know how long it will last, but I'm riding along for the journey.

Edit: Also the mom is hot
