On a serious note, this manga illustrator is a true savior for this kind of storyline. Give this illustrator a huge raise please~
"ONE OF THE BEST MANGA OUT THERE" STORY (10/10) (Minor Spoiler) The story is wonderful. It doesn't rush to get to the point; It takes its time. The skills and other stuff (world building) are also explained in detail. (MC's free citizen class was not explained in the manga). ART (10/10)The art is splendid. The art makes the story more interesting and more captivating.
'This splendid art makes the story more captivating'.
CHARACTER (10/10)
I like the characters in this manga very much.
The main character in this story is not your average 'MC'. The main character is intelligent, likeable and if he has to kill another person he will kill. MC does not unjustly kill anyone, he only kills criminals and the like.
For a harem manga it sure took its time to introduce the second female member.
ENJOYMENT (10/10)
I recommend you to read this manga. Give it a try and you will come to love it.
Hoping this manga gets an official English adaptation.
Edit: The light novel got an anime adaptation.
Looking forward to the anime adaptation.
Hoping it would get adapted by a good studio and maintains the slow, Slice of Life pace.
Hoping the studio would use the character art of manga or better.
Hoping the studio would hire good staff and does not compromise.
Also hoping that the anime would get multiple seasons.
P.S. The web novel version of this manga was serialized in Shōsetsuka ni Narō from 2011 to 2019. Shield hero and many other Isekai harem series were serialized after, so don't call 'Isekai Meikyuu de Harem wo' a copy of other series.
Where do we start with this manga? how about the name. Just in the name itself you already know it's one of those long names that are a full sentence that ask or begs a question, a meme (if you wanna call it that) that has been crippling the Light Novel community for almost a decade now. Since the name of the manga has a Light Novel title (that is ironically based off a light novel by the same title) you find the main character (a suicidal NEET) waking up in a barn in medieval Europe and finds a sword and ... you know therest, there's some info dump about the world which takes a lot of chapters, i'm guessing the author did this to avoid having to explain things later on but really annoying for a manga like this.
The Manga is ecchie oriented so there is a lot of NSFW scenes in it, even to the point where the main character sleep with his sex slave, yes that's right his sex slave, go read it if you want to know how and why. Overall the manga is nothing unique and just plays on the same isekai trope that has been going on for years except this one is based off a main character that wants to build a harem to curb his sex drive, i'll check back in a couple of months or years to see what has changed with this manga but so far, nothing unique in particular.
I got suckered into this because of its popularity, despite my usual ban on anything harem related. Yeah, unless you're looking for some foreplay before you open a porn website, this manga is absolute garbage. The story and setting is painfully generic, and honestly boring. I'll bet my ass that 90 % of the people reading this are just skipping pages to get to the sex scenes, as there is really no other way to enjoy this. I mean, the main heroine (I didn't read far enough for the harem to start) is cute and all, but she is so unrealistically submissive. Not to mention the wholeslave angle. The girl is a SLAVE and she is falling in LOVE with some random dude that bought her.
It's a sad, sad, sad power fantasy. Don't ready if you're not interested in horny.
The anime adaptation of Isekai Meikyuu de Harem wo intrigued me enough to start reading the manga. And I'm happy I did - let me get straight into why. First of all, the art is phenomenal. The regular scenes, character facial expressions and H-scenes are top-tier. I don't personally care too much for the action, but the art there isn't bad by any means. Many panels in this manga look pretty enough to warrant a longer look simply to take in the artwork. As far as the story and characters go, I've found the slow pace and slice-of-life aspect to be very enjoyable. Things are relaxed andnot too complicated. I am not a fan of overpowered main characters with cheat-powers, but that seems to be nearly unavoidable in the genre and anime/manga/light novels in general. At least Michio is cautious, intelligent and pretty kind overall.
So what about the harem? Well, for the first 5 volumes or so, there isn't one. It's just Michio and Roxanne. It takes a while before Sherry joins them and I can see why that long wait would be disappointing, but I do feel that it allows Michio to develop a proper relationship with every girl.
I'm not going to say any of the characters in this series are particularly deep or complex. But despite that, the manga still pulls off enjoyable character dynamics. As a result, both daily life and sex scenes feel natural and playful. Transitioning from regular manga to the hentai scenes feels quite normal - like normal people who are in a relationship. Somehow I find this much nicer than regular hentai. Those are so focused on the sex that they can feel vulgar by comparison. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that the relationships feel ''right''. Well, if you can get over the whole slavery aspect, that is.
All in all, I would recommend giving this manga a chance if you're even remotely interested.
Slice of life meets Ieskai When I started reading I admit that it seemed a bit dull, however halfway though I changed how I approached the story. I started thinking of it as a Slice of life that just so happens to use Isekai as its backdrop. There are a few anime/manga that have used this idea before, while I have not consumed any of them I can say that this is its own experience. Story/characters - I don’t know why but I really like them The main character is not the spineless, hapless lout we’ve all but gotten used to at this point. For once Ifound myself going “why was this guy a “loser” in the “real world”?” He can cook, is hard working, fairly intelligent, and not ugly. Isekai is getting to a point where it expects you to know what’s going on and doesn’t spend any time adapting the characters to their new environment. De Harem takes more time than most do at this point to acclimate to the new world, which some will not be up for at this point. Close to ieskai’ed out you might not want the super hero “origin story” any more and wish it would just get to the point. That however is the catch, there is no point, no demon lord no epic quest, no kingdom or princess to save, mostly he just farms in a dungeon that literally never ends (everything re-spawns like a video game). Though much like another light edgy anime, he does acquire a slave:
That character is Roxanne, and she is so well drawn and cute, and is even written fairly well. Plucky, energetic and cute but somehow also makes her reserved, refined and knowledgeable. I actually quite like the writing for this character, she plays off the main character really well and almost makes me wish it were a soft-core hentai so more people would get into it.
There is no story, as of the last chapter I read, it’s just these two characters living like newlyweds.
Art - Who is this guy and how did they get him/her to draw this softcore hentai?
It’s gorgeous! I love the art, not only are the character designs look great but the action and paneling are spot on to show action or,,, other events. It's consistent, and alluring, it has soft shading that does an awesome impression of “lighting” all in black and white! The art is really beautiful, I’m not going to be as hyperbolic to say something like “best everah” but it looks very good and very much enhances the reading experience.
Overall/ Enjoyment - It’s a tough call
Really there just isn’t enough out yet to make a judgment, I had a hard time in the beginning before Roxanna joins the party, and even after that it’s really slow, after accepting the slice of life ieskai idea I really started enjoying myself much more and have high hopes for its future. However that future is yet to be seen, I hope to find out soon and pop back into this review and fill it out a little more. Until then thanks for reading!
First off I'd like to say something... I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS NOT HENTAI. Okay, moving on... do you like taking baths? You might enjoy this. Also, it has HAREM in the title, so expect one. STORY: MC buys a slave. From chapter 2 it was heavily stressed that the girl is okay with being a sex slave. He falls in love with her and bathes her a lot and ofc they have lots of sex. Oh I forgot that they do a bit of adventuring every now and then. ART: Bruh, this feels like hentai. I even forgot that there was a plot. It's how good it is. CHARACTER: Genericthirsty MC with a fetish of giving baths. Slave girl is submissive.
ENJOYMENT:
Idek how I reached 25 chapters. It must be from the thicc plot.
OVERALL:
6/9. Jk. You might enjoy this if you are looking to pad your manga stats without having to hide it from others as it's not labelled as hentai.
Maybe it's because my country's been fucked by colonialism, but I really don't enjoy this shit. Can't lie the art's amazing but the slavery really rubs me the wrong way. It's like that time southern American tries to portray slave life being all sunshine and rainbows and everyone sings while picking cotton. That's what this manga is reminding me of, trying to make light of slavery. I know the name is a big giveaway about what the story is but cmon man it could've done more better or atleast tastefully, this is just disgusting. And don't tell me about how she's "okay" being a slave, just becausethe victim said it's "okay" that doesn't mean it's actually okay.
Tldr: it's making light of slavery and I don't like it
MY GUILTY PLEASURE... This is my favourite Slice of Life manga out there, the story is decent, world building good, world mechanics very well explained/inplemented, good character depth, art is amazing and best of all the ero scenes are mouth watering 🤤 honestly what more do you need to start reading this gem??? - STORY (7/10) The story follows a slow pace given since it´s a slice of life series, however don´t let it fool you there´s plenty of action both in the labyrinths and in bed ;-). Don´t expect the story to be god´s penmanship, the MC literally juts wants to live a peacefull lifewith his insanely sexy waifus.
The entire world building is well done together with the complex mechanics it makes the MC actually wait and think things through and how they might reverberate in the future, not just going happy go lucky kind of thing.
- ART (9/10)
The art is amazing it very captivating, it amazes me how it so well detailed and let´s not forget the ero scenes OMG the mangaka knows how to cook it makes the whole month wait worth it.
Thanks to the art it highly elevates the somewhat dull storyline.
Roxanne takes the word ´thick´to a whole new level like damn ( . ) ( . )
- CHARACTERS (8/10)
The manga is refreshing compared to the vast majority of Isekai harem fantasy manga´s outhere, the characters don´t feel two dimensional, each waifu has her unique personality and mindset that complements the party´s overall dynamic and interactions.
Despite their obvious situation of them being ´slaves´ they clearly don´t just follow the MC blindly and actually voice their opinions which helps the MC level up faster and get more waifus!
So far in the manga we have seen ´Roxanne´ and ´Sherry´ however from what I´ve heard from the LN readers the rest of the party are great also.
The MC is actually likeable, intelligent and thoughtful to the waifus, he doesn´t kill anyone unless is actually necessary.
He is definitively not your average isekai MC.
- OVERALL OPINION (8/10)
Overall I´d say it´s a solid read to pass the time, it´s highly enjoyable and the waifus are insanely hot.
The only things bad about it´s the monthly release and the fewer pages per chapter, it feel like forever until a new chapter releases, however apparently is due to the mangaka´s poor health so at least we are getting something.
Honeslty speaking if I could choose to live any life out of any MC in animanga it would be Michio´s for sure, the dude literally is living his best life surrounded by beautiful waifu´s, has OP skills to some extend and doesn´t have to worry about defeating a demon king like is most Isekai fantasies.
How I rank (This is just my opinion):
(Inspired by Huang-Teizan)
10 - Bendicion de Dios
9 - Now this is Peak!!
8 - Bingeworthy!
7 - Good
6 - Enjoyable
5 - Either Echii or just enough to get by
4 - I´m just here to know how it ends.
3 - "Are you related to Rent a Girlfriend?"
2 - Que cojones
1 - My head doesn´t explode because it can´t.
0 - "Even a Hentai has a better story than you!"
2/5/26 vol 7 chp 47 art 8/10 art of the manga its really good , sexually really good one of best ones i read , good effects 👍, decent background and the chibi like art that used for explain or skipping its not annoying 👍 story 7/10 story nothing special there is not end goal or something amazing but compare to other borderline H mangas its good its not sex cus sex character design 7/10 personality of the characters kinda dull but how they look its kinda good vibe 8/10 enjoyable to read i guess and also how slaves work and mc act to it is reasonable notlike some other mcs : le slave bad hmm.. very bad, let me buy all of em
compare to anime :
i just finished where the anime ends , its worse than anime , stuff skips in the anime and i think art look better in the manga but visualy anime is more pleasant
What is this? Well, a pokemon collector slice of life isekai, but of course instead of pokemons our MC collects cute harem girls. If you like your harem pure, innocent and clean (I mean without bodily fluids) than this manga is not for you. Our MC uses his harem as intended. Well, that's about it. Is the world unique? Nah, the most bog standard isekai world you can find on the market. Does this one has a compelling story? Don't even dream about it. It is hard to call it even a story. Asks meaningful questions? Are you kidding me, right? Are the characters noteworthy? Not really, they are cardboard cutouts.
Then why such a high score, you may ask? If you opened the manga you may think that I'm into the beautifully drawn huge jiggly Plots, you wouldn't be entirely wrong, but no, not really. I'm too old to fall in love with my 2D girls.
Why than? Well, the reason is the pacing. Most of you may find this boring, but I find it pleasant to read. It is not rushed, and let's you accomodate and submerge into the world. It presents you a wholesome slow life in a fantasy world. What I also really like about this manga is that it takes the time to build the relationship between the characters. They don't just fall in love because reasons, so their affection is really well founded. This is a rare sight to see.
Yeah, yeah, I know, this is self-insert power fantasy, but you know what? I'm not always in the mood to search for the meaning of life. This is a popcorn fantasy. A quite enjoyable one. So if you sit down with the right expectations you'll most likely enjoy it as well.
Please note that this review was written as of chapter 51's release. My second isekai review. I mostly rate manga/anime based on the overall enjoyment factor of the story. However, it feels like I should be rating this as a hentai manga rather than an isekai. If you read a horror, you rate the scare factor. If it's comedy you rate the laugh factor. If you read hentai, you know what you're looking for and if you don't find it, it's bad. The story is most definitely built from the mind of a male gamer with a love of porn. An isekaied protagonist is trying tobuild a full party of sex slaves while discreetly raking in experience and money by way of cheat abilities. This isn't the first time this has been done and is far from being the best representation of it. So why is it worth your time? The art is top tier. *chef's kiss*
It doesn't seem fair that a manga adaptation of a boring web novel centered around wish-fulfillment should have such amazing artwork, but here we are. All hail Hyouju Issei! Sadly, the art is the only thing I can give all my praise to. If it wasn't for that, this manga would easily be worse than Gun-Ota ga Mahou Sekai ni Tensei shitara. Even the fight scenes in the dungeons are full of low angle close ups of butts and skin tight leather gear as if to remind the reader why we're sitting through this.
I was impatient with the release rate of the manga back when there were only about 30 chapters and tried reading the web novel up to chapter 224. This was far more difficult than it sounds. The story is barely moving with the protag spending most of his time experimenting with the limits of his abilities, buying luxury items, beating floor bosses for drops, and bathing in his slaves' admiration (sometimes literally IN the bath). There might be some genuine backstory to flesh out the slaves more in the future, but at this pace it's going to take tens more chapters to get there unless the author decides to trim the fat a bit. Honestly though, most readers are just going to be more interested in a different kind of 'flesh out' of the cast. I rated this an 8 only because I see it as porn-with-plot type hentai that hits all the right buttons. If you want a good isekai with actual plot progression, go read That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. You're welcome.
Hello fellow fans of KaptivateTV, you know why your here please enjoy your stay Story: 8 The story progression is slow and there's an underlying routine in the story that's reminiscent of the slice of life genre. While the story has a repetitive routine there is a core progression that drives the story forward and the world building is excellent. The world feels lived in and the core mechanics are consistent and are explained in an easy to understand manner. There are ecchi scenes but rather then feeling like unnecessary fan service they feel deserved and are very well written. There is a slave system but unlikethe slave system you may be familiar with from history this system benefits both parties and is quite beneficial to the people who end up enslaved.
Art:10
Very good good art, pretty pictures
Characters:9
The MC you've been waiting for finally arrives, he ain't a bitch and he knows what he wants. Roxanne is best wifu of all times. Support Characters and one off Characters all have personality and seem like real characters.
Enjoyment:10
I liked this manga, found it very enjoyable
This is honestly a very hard review for me. I watched the anime a few months ago, and I remember I was shocked by the incredible worldbuilding. Something to rival the most top tier anime I've watched no joke. Just at that time, I stumbled upon the manga that just started being published in my country and decided to pick it up, since it was low investment and I already had some attachment to the characters. I kept going and going, up until volume 6, where i realized how much stuff the anime cut away. Normally, that would make me hate the anime as a not-100% faithful adaptation, but I now totally understand why they did that and I'm grateful for it.
Let's go in order tho,
ART: 10/10
The art is undoubtedly the best part of the whole product. You can tell Issei Hyoju is a master at that.
The panels all have an distinct quality and style to them, and I'm not only referring to the sex scenes.
Usually the quality of the art is a huge factor for me in a manga, since I value them as collectibles as well, and this one didn't disappoint on that regard
STORY: 5/10
I wanted to give this a higher score since, as I mentioned previously, the worldbuilding is top notch... Maybe too much, tho.
In anime form, you can manage hearing all the overly detailed explanations of a super-cautious protag, that has to deal with life and death every day potentially, so he obviously has to calculate all moves... but in writter form it can really get tiring at some point, to get through all the textwalls of inner dialogue.
However, I could put up with that. The real issue I personally have with the plot is that, after volume 2 (or episode 4 of the anime) it turns into a slice of life story, where most of our time we see the daily routine of Michio and Roxanne, from the most mundane things to simple grinding in the dungeon.
Now I can see somebody like this, but for me personally I couldn't take it at some point. Main reason being the complete lack of goals and struggle for the protag. I know the goal should be building a harem, and I'm not asking Michio to go kill the king of demons, but I felt like the fantasy setting and isekai element were completely wasted at that point.
Of course, we can't not mention the sex scenes. Honestly, they were not a main reason why I bought it, but I have to be honest: without sex scenes, the story would just be too dull. They became some more than necessary pacebreakers at some point.
CHARACTERS: 6/10
The two main characters are Michio and Roxanne.
Michio is a teenage boy that reincarnated in a new world after joining an online game where he maxed out his skill points. At the beginning we are told he has been bullied and considered taking away his own life, but we were never shown his suffering.
Once in a new world that resembles an RPG he decides to settle in, once he studied all his abilities and rules of the world.
After knowing slavery is a thing, he gets persuaded by a slave owner to purchase Roxanne, who's gonna be his loyal life companion. Despite the slave-owner relationship, Michio is extremely kind to her, treating her as a human after the longest time. This is probably the best character dynamic in the story.
Roxanne, on her part, is a loyal and knowledgeable party member, extremely grateful and to her new owner for the way he treats her and slowly growing accostumed to the apparent freedom she got under him.
Like I mentioned previously, the only issue I have with the characters is the completely lack of goals and struggle for the Michio. It contributed to make the story too boring at some point.
Seeing Michio and Roxanne a happy, chill and cozy life can be entertaining at a certain dose, but after four volumes, I just couldn't keep up.
There are more characters, but they are very secondary and only interact with Michio and Roxanne when needed, just to peace out until a second call (like the slave owner).
I got the part where Sherry joins the harem, but then I gave up, so I can't talk about her.
OVERALL ENJOYMENT: 5 or 6 /10
The overall story is not bad, keep in mind. However, it just wasn't enough for me. From volume 4 onward I kept buying each volume at release until volume 6, both because I hoped for the story to get more interesting and a little bit of FOMO (since it's from a niche publisher in my country). Once I discovered in Japan it's at 12 volumes of the light novel, waiting to get adapted, I realized I was good.
I usually don't drop any manga. At worst I'll hold to them until I get finished with some other stuff I'm more invested in, but I seriously can't see myself picking this up again any time soon. Especially with all the headaches to get your hands on some rare volumes. I'd just rather spend that money on other series.
CONCLUSION
In the end, Harem in the labyrinth of another world is not a bad manga by any means. It does so much stuff really well; namely the worldbuilding and art. It just ended up not being what I expected, but things might be different for you.
I think it's worth checking out and making your own thoughts about it, especially after volume 2, where I personally think it reaches its first climax (giggity).
A isekai harem? Sure, I enjoy harem manga's. Read up to 79 chapters still no harem (Yeah there's two girls but I don't count that unless there's a total of 3+) so it's basically a threesome. The main character is fine but just on the normal run of the mill MC but a bit smarter then a lot of other isekai MC but still on the annoying side that there are times that I want to punch his face in. MC girl/love interest Roxanne: Is cute looking but her personality...doesn't sit well with me. MC girl/love interest Sherry: Is way better then Roxanne and hasn't been inthe story long enough.
MC girl/love interest Vesta: Who?
MC girl/love interest Miria: Who?
MC girl/love interest Rutina: Who?
79 chapters in the story and there are 3 MC girl/love interest that I have yet to see. I get taking it slow and with build-up but by chapter 79 any mc in the story should have already appear (Or at least all but 1 in anything) so that we can get their personality and how they interact with the group.
But anyways the main premise of said story is the MC gets basically a RE:Zero but instead of walking into another world, he wakes up. Instead of freaking out like a normal person he's calm and collect. Gets an OP skill that basically a game breaking skill but not in a way that he automatically gets it (But still OP as crap). Hires a slave to start a harem and basically starts having seggs because why the hell not right?
(Minor spoiler)
Apparently, each race has a skill that is acts like a racial skill of that said race and guess what the human's special skill is? That's right seggs who would have thought cause why the hell not right?
Would I recommend this to anyone...no not really because I would recommend other manga's that are better than this, but this is better than some manga's that I have read.
Story is a 5
Character design is a 7
Art is a 7
Enjoyment is a 4 because it's so slow.
Horniness is a 20/10
Simple Review and minor spoiler Story : Its generic, its basically story about Introvert and suicidal NEET want to commit suicide until he open some random website who transport him to "Isekai". Then Randomly u get cool abilities and cool sword. Here we are kirito wannabe mc and stumble to buy slave which basically illegal but still he bought it. Bravo, nice plot but man i already see this many times Art : The only good thing from this manga, the art, illustrator did pretty well done, from fighting to horni scene Character : Generic mc who basically have no regret leaving original world and just move on.Its basically empty vessel walking (he has end goal actually, to make harem, thats why there is harem in title) and ofc u know it right mc is chick magnet. And we have Female lead who suddenly agree to have planting seed process at very first day she sold to him. Wow fantastic, This mc is more horni than another mc
Enjoyment : I actually man of cultured, i like fanservice but still story kinda doesnt make sense with so many class option and so many mechanic i feel overwhelming by that.
Overall : I give 5/10 the borderline normal genre to H genre. Its good if this one H genre but its big NO for normal genre. The manga only good if u are horni and dont have any material to smash meat off
Also I read this manga because the adaptation air next month, so im interested about plot but nah its confusing and meh. I just read for more planting seed scene
Thats should be all, ADIOS!
