Reviews for A Polar Bear in Love
Back to Manga*Dropped at vol. 1* This is a bit of a fun and entertaining read, if you are able to overcome the awkward and uneasy interactions between Polar Bear and Lil' Seal. It is funny how they first meet and the awkwardness that goes between the both of them, but because of Polar Bear's HUGE desire to be Lil' Seal's partner and to eventually "marry him" in the future (it is suggested that Lil' Seal is not mature enough to marry, thus still a child), it can give off an uncomfortable feeling. Polar Bear's behavior gave me... predatory vibes (no pun intended) towards Lil' Seal. In allhonesty, it was hard for me to read this all the way to the end and I couldn't push myself to read the last few extra pages that are based on the chapter covers and are supposed to be for the reader's pleasure or enjoyment.
If you enjoy adorable art, characters, and a cute story. This is definitely a fun and underrated read. I own all four books and they are such a cute and funny trip through the arctic. The story is pretty simple, but the character grows on you and the backstories are surprisingly deep and serious throughout. There is a lot of interesting tiny nuggets of knowledge and facts about the animal characters and you get to meet a few different species and each has itsa own characteristics and funny personality. The story is odd, as its a love story where one of the characters is notinterested, but the relationship progress' in a satisfying but reasonable way. So that the funny aspects stay in tact.
The art is forever charming to me, it is just so pleasant to look at. This is pretty much a stress-free manga, low stakes and little action, it's good if you want to relax and experience something wholesome.
