Reviews for Sister Princess: Re Pure
Back to AnimeThe fact that no one has written a review for this yet is surprising. Don't let that fact fool you though, Sister Princess: Re Pure is a very enjoyable anime. For those of you who have seen the original Sister Princess you are going to see quite a few familiar themes, and for those of you who haven't I would recommend watching the original Sister Princess first, since this is technically a sequel. Now, onto the actual review Story: The story revolves around our incredibly lucky protagonist Wataru and his interactions with his twelve (yeah, twelve) sisters. The story of Sister Princess: RePure is set up differently from you average anime though. Each episode has two parts to it; the first half of every episode is an overall story with every sister, whereas the second half is a character specific arc. You get to see events through both the sisters' and Wataru's perspectives. With only 13 episodes though, each sister doesn't get very much screen time. Despite this fact Sister Princess Re Pure does an excellent job of letting you get to know each and every character.
Art;
The art of Re Pure is nothing to be amazed, but it's certainly not something to scoff at either. The characters are drawn very well, and though some of the backgrounds may seem boring or empty at times, it does not take away from the overall enjoyment. The animations are fairly smooth as well.
Sound:
Since each episode is split up into two parts, they all have two OP and ED songs. I found them all to be very enjoyable, especially the unique character specific songs at the end of the first segment of each episode. I find myself listening to them quite often actually. The BGM was soothing and enjoyable, but not something that will get stuck in your head. Overall the music was quite fitting.
Character:
This is where this anime really shines. With one male MC and a staggering 12 heroines, this cast can become overwhelming at times. As you might expect, many of the characters do not appear as often as some of the others, but that in no way diminishes their presence. Since every heroine has her own story arc, we really get a feel for what each individual character is like. Not only that, but we get to see how they interact with each other at times, which was very interesting.
Overall Enjoyment:
Since each character has her own unique personality, I really enjoyed watching every episode. There's something for everyone; the older sister type, the imouto, the genius, the loli, the detective, and much more. While the easygoing nature of this anime may not be for everyone, I highly recommend you at least give it a chance. I'm glad I did.
If I were to be aasked by any individual, "Hey is Sister Princess:Re Pure, worth mytime, should I watch it?" then I would answer with a big and fat, NOOO, because In all due honesty, I would want to keep this happiness to myself alone. For remember, this anime came out straight from two decades ago, I know well that the chance t of it ever getting a sequel, is not only impossible, but non existent all around, so even I f I were to give this anime as a recommendation to anybody, it would only be so they can badmouth it, and you knowwhat, I dont think i will recommend it to anybody,ever. but what I can do, is proclaim how astoundingly good the stories portrayed in this anime are, each and every episode counts with two parts, the first part, the main story, as per say, so if you want to follow that, it would be the same as watching an anime which only has got 6.5 episodes, but if you only want to watch the second part of every episode, that being, the other ten minutes, then, all i can say, prepare yoursefl to be astounded, the way all these heroines love their oniichan, is nothing but to be afraid of, matter of fact, i can easily picture 2 billion men, who would die just to ever be loved by one of these heroines, the way they love that man, keepin mind that al of l these 12 heroines wish with all their hearts for an incestuous relationship, keep in mind that thiswas written in 1999, keep in mynd that Oreimo,Aki Sora, and Yosuga No Sora, prolly look at this anime and scream, I wish i could have gone that far, 12 SISTERS, different ages, diffrerent characters, different backstories, ONE LOVE, what???, the music, the artstyle, I had to check five times, and in diferent pages to confirm, that this was in fact drawn and animated circa 2002, I fell In Love with the staff, indeed the second part of these anime, is the goat of the goatssss,,,ut sadly , I was reached so deeply by this , because i had previously watched the firt sister series, Sister Princess, the one that has 26 episodes, and thats why I was blown away by how much of a progress it had beeen accomplished, rather exceled, and even something even sadlier, is that thisanime fails big time at something, tell a story, while the backstory for each and every heroine was the most beautiful thing i had seen in a very long toime, the first ten minutes, were if anything, commonplace, some even might call boring as shit, and they dd, between the 5 comments i read on the page i watched this anime, 3 were about how boring it was, and the other two were people asking for harem recommendations, and there was also a sixth one, that one was mine, I called them Mules, SISTER RPINCESS: RE PURE, is so confusing, sometimes the Oniichan suddenly looks like he ois 25, other times like hes 18 , other times hes super young, you have to try and fogure out where does this fit with the story, and also how does this connect with the prequel, also to this day, i still dont understand, how does he get suddenly twelve sisters, and not once was it clarified, if they were adoptive, bloodrelated, stepsisters, is his dad actually a rabbit, stepbro, what are you doing???, so i, till the very end didnt understand that, and believe me, it botheredme so much, ALSO,,MAMI, one of the girsl who was a very dear character of mine, really funny and dumb, and also YAMADA got 20 seconds of screen, wtf???,i couldnt forgive that, SO in conclusion, SISTER PRINCESS: RE PURE, is the definition and actual mirroring, of how to make great characters, a dense MC, and then do absoluterly ntohing with it, literally the story went nowhere at all, people are used to Harem anime not having any developmets, and to wait 12 episodes, for a kiss , for it to then not happen at all, well in this case, imagine that the MC, is still sleeping, and The Girls are still taking a showe, getting ready for that last episode date at the Amusement Park, trope shit, but i repeat myself, those 10 minutes at the end, of each episode, more than make up for it, they really do,the music, script , everytitgnn, its godly, so i gave it a nine in story, because those backstories are canon
