Reviews for Noble Reincarnation: Born Blessed, So I'll Obtain Ultimate Power
Back to AnimeThis show takes some suspension of disbelief to sit through. It's the ultimate MC power-wank, in fact, it's probably the most egregious MC-worshipping show I've ever seen. If constant MC-fellatio bothers you, don't watch this. This show can be summed up in one phrase. "SASUGA NOAH-SAMA!" For writing this review, our beloved prince has gifted my family 10,000 rean, despite the empire's finances being in shambles. He is known to have his attendants carry around wicker baskets full of gold to pass out to unwitting street urchins. This is expected, as befitting our Wise Prince. He is truly gifted beyond his years. This show is ridiculous to thepoint of absurdity. It's insane. Yet, as our benevolent Noah-sama destroys yet another priceless work of art for no reason but to demonstrate a noble's responsibility to his people, so are we required to recognize our Prince's magnanimity in appearing before us on the big screen. I eagerly await Noah-sama's return, as he's been transformed into an ikemen gigachad with thousands of loyal retainers and fans.
What brilliant judgement. This is unprecedented. Truly the son of His Majesty! Brilliant, as usual. Excellent, Noah, well done. I also name you governor-general of the first army, also known as the imperial guard. Incredible... Prince Noah is amazing. Your skill is as impressive as ever. I don't believe it... This is unprecedented. They are all astonished by the amazing feat you've performed. Well done, Noah. Impressive. You've done well to expose this plot. Incredible! Prince Noah is remarkable. I almost wonder if he can read minds. Your granddaughter would be perfect for him. Impressive. It only took one well-spoken line.
SASUGA NOAH-SAMA!
Earth revolves around the sun, but the stories we tell revolve around Earth in all its complexity. Noble Reincarnation does not understand this in the slightest. The OP MC trope is controversial at the best of times, but it truly lives or dies not by the quality of the MC but the quality of the cast around them. When you build a character that solves everything instantly you need a likable, complex cast of allies for that character to save; otherwise tension and plot are all but impossible. Watson is needed for Sherlock Holmes to shine. Here we have no depth to secondary characters. The only vaguelymemorable one is the king who serves as a sort of quest giver, but even then he is little more than a more prominent prop.
Pretty much the entirety of the runtime here is Noah effortlessly solving one issue after another; either through "flawless" diplomacy or overwhelming magical power. One MIGHT be able to put together an interesting story on witty diplomacy alone, but what makes Noble Reincarnation especially bad is that it isn't smart enough to offer inspiring solutions. It tells us they're inspiring through the constant affirmation Noah gets from everyone around him, but the logic is about as deep as the kiddie pool.
And that affirmation is grating in this show. It's reasonable for the rest of the cast to acknowledge the main character is amazing, but here it's part of the formula. Each episode goes through 2 or 3 loops of this:
1. A problem arises.
2. The main character notices or is informed of this problem.
3. The main character spends 1-2 minutes solving the problem.
4. Everyone present comments how amazing/powerful/intelligent the main character is.
5. Repeat.
The animation isn't terrible and the art feels well done if you just pause to appreciate it on its own, but this is almost more infuriating while seeing other shows this season with much better stories but far lower animation budgets.
I've managed 8 episodes so far, so it's not the worst thing I've seen. Still, I can't think of anyone I'd really recommend this to. There are flashier mindless power fantasies. There are smarter diplomatic dramas. There are edgier OP MCs. There are decades of better anime to watch before spending time on this. Maybe go watch Dragonball Z; even if you never finish it, it'll be a more satisfying waste of your time.
The MC is perfect and anywhere he goes something good happens to him. His brother gives him a cursed sword -> he masters it instantly, he visits a market -> he finds a skill book thats worth 1000 gold for 3 gold and it levels his stats and he finds a ring that turns into armor and automatically protects him. Has never trained or practiced with anything but is overpowered as a kid. His dad hires the 'BEST SWORDSMAN IN THE KINGDOM' yet the MC instantly disarms him and wins their very first duel despite never training, the 'BEST SWORDSMAN IN THE KINGDOM' proceeds tosay theres nothing that he can teach him and that he is already a master. Absolute horrible cringe dialog scenes where the kid MC is smarter than everybody in the kingdom and everybody who is in power is corrupt but the MC outsmarts them instantly. There is literally a scene where he forces some minister to give money that is owed and then literally is seen sipping his tea while being glazed by the guy he brought with him. Impossible cringey watch have no idea how anybody could muster through any more than a couple episodes of this
Story The story moves way too fast. Our protagonist is only six years old at the moment, yet he has already accomplished a massive amount of things with almost zero effort. Everything goes his way and any sense of struggle is basically non-existent because he is always right. It feels like the plot is speedrunning, we never see him study, learn, or fail. He was just born perfect and knows everything already. Even though reincarnation is a core theme, we barely know anything about his past life or how he is actually using that previous knowledge to his advantage. Art Style I personally don't like it when themain character looks significantly different from everyone else in the world without a good explanation. Aside from the MC's design, the rest of the show has your typical medieval fantasy look. There are a few small twists in the character designs, but nothing that really stands out.
Conclusion
This is a typical 5/10 "reincarnation" anime where there is no real struggle or deep narrative. I can only recommend watching it if you are looking for something that doesn't require much focus or just need some background noise. If you are looking for something deep and interesting that brings something new to the fantasy genre, you should skip this one.
This isnt the first time I’ve confused one anime for another. There are so many of these barebone copy-paste anime that they all look the same. In this case I confused “Easygoing Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord: Production Magic Turns a Nameless Village into the Strongest Fortified City” with “Noble Reincarnation: Born Blessed, So I'll Obtain Ultimate Power” I mean its the same thing. One is reincarnated as the 13th prince of an emperor. The other the 4th son of a noble. I mean I can just copy and paste the same review for both anime ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ There is nothing to be said. Reincarnated as an overpowered child. The women are dull/annoying. Because they are given no depth other than a female in a lazy harem. The male characters are no better. The main character makes me yawn. You just have to suffer through the cringe waiting for something interesting to happen even though you know it wont.
Honestly just terrible. The MC makes very basic logical decision and his father (The Emperor) keeps being like, "Wow! How brilliant! I must reward you!" This continues, ad nauseam. The ideas aren't even brilliant, and some of them are actually idiotic - like in episode 6 where he learns that a guy is taking bribes, so he tries to bribe him to not take bribes. As another example, in episode 7, we find out that the 30k Rean is about 250x the yearly income of the capitol, which means that the yearly income for the capitol is around 120 Rean. This is idiotic because one episode before, the guy who was taking bribes was earning around 100 Rean a year in bribes, and he offered him a raise of like 500-1,000 Rean a year to no longer take bribes (or something like that).
This show feels like it was written by a 10 year old.
a show involving a main character who can be seen as comparable to ainz aool gown in both the way he acts and resolves incidents. every episode will involve he enter a situation and both resolve it perfectly and gain increasingly large amounts of respect from those around him. failing that, he's apparently invulnerable by the third episode, so he is fully capable of using magical conquerors haki to clear a room. while actually being more compelling than a lot of the trite shows we got in the now closing anime season of december through march, watching him throw 10 months of someone's salary atthem for their loyalty became less compelling every single single time he did it, which was almost every other episode. i don't know if id call this show a complete waste of time, but its explicitly not good.
also i'd say the show completely disregards the premise, while it states that he gains power from those who swear loyalty to him, in practice, he only uses the abilities of distinct artifacts he gains through the course of the show. he never once attempts to actually utilize the skills he gains from his followers. maybe that falls into light spoiler territory, but being warned a show is lying to you in its very premise is simple consumer advocacy.
First of all, I am going to watch this 'till the end. Second of all, I hate it. Third, I love it. Why? Bad reincarnation power fantasy anime has become sort of guilty pleasure of mine lately. The better is in this case to be more horrible. And this definitely ticks ALL the boxes for the horrible. What is the story? It's a story about a perfect little power fantasy monstrosity, where the MC does literally anything, and all the other characters are amazed by him. ALL the lines of this MC are somehow ''cool' and ''amazing'' and it is absolutely hilarious. If this would've beendone even a tiny bit better I wouldn't enjoy it this much. The stupidity of it all makes it worthwhile.
The animation is bad, the voice acting is monotonous, the world building is lazy, the characters are unlikable, the writing makes no sense. And yet, because all of this, I will finish this stupid piece of media.
But if you're not broken like me and need to see stupid shit like this, I can't recommend it.
It's amazing.
This show is straight up ass. I have little else to say because the show likewise also has little to say. There is only one character: The supporting characters also serve no purpose other than to praise the protagonist for breathing, eating, talking or otherwise existing. There is no scene where any character does anything that doesn't have anything to do with the protagonist. All conversations are about how great the protagonist is. All actions are performed in service of the protagonist or for the protagonist to admonish. Every time I heard some random fuck praise the kid about "how wise and clever he is" the onlythoughts that went through my head were "Hey! He's six years old. You need to get his DICK OUT OF YOUR MOUTH!!!"
There are actually no characters:
The protagonist serves no purpose other than to do "the clever thing" even if it's the obvious choice. He has no characterization, drive, regrets, purpose, habits or anything interesting about him. He maintains the same bland expression of "le serious face" no matter what he's doing. He earns no care from the audience because he is not a person. He is a vessel for the plot to be moved forward by. Whenever anything happens, he gains meta knowledge and instantly understands whats going on. There is no conflict because there is no real force outside himself to oppose him.
The animation, art, sound design are ass:
the animation is the generic shoestring budget trash animation. It's just people standing still and talking until an action scene happens in which case its just a sprite of a person moving in a direction and then someone is knocked out or killed. If you've seen all the other seasonal SLOP coming out, you've seen this show. It's the same if not worse animation, the same character design, the same music, sound design, background art. Its the same SLOP.
There is no story:
The only really unique thing about this show is the story, in that they've forgone having any such thing. There is no real plot or direction that anything is going and it all feels so pointless. They go from location A to location B tho do something, then location B to location C where some character needs help, so they go to location D and what do you know he solved the problem instantly, Now back to location B where some random fuck praises him and then to location E where some random people are talking about how great he is. I just finished watching an episode and so little happened that I can't remember any of it.
Conclusion:
There are no characters. There is no plot. The art is all the same. The animation is SLOP. And despite all that it has a six point something score.
Post Scriptum:
Also there's slavery and the protagonist doesn't care.
Man, you can forgive an anime like this -Isekai with an OP protagonist- for a subpar animation or mediocre music; it's what the genre is known for (with obvious exceptions), and it's not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes you just want to switch off your brain and have some junk food to unwind. But the story, the story! I'm incapable of understanding what kind of writer could insert themselves into a story like this and not die of embarrassment. The main character is always right, and the other characters either envy him or exist only to praise him for making the right decisions -even when heobviously isn't-. Not to mention that his smartest move is to use money to buy whatever he needs, completely forgetting that his money comes from people's taxes and that his people probably wouldn't appreciate seeing a small fortune thrown away on a seedy bar just because its singer is cute. And you know what? it could actually work. If it were a comedy or a satire, it might even pass for clever writing... but no, this anime takes its own... premise? way too seriously. (If you can even call that a premise), I feel bad for the VA's and animators who worked on this anime, but the story just tears everything down.
If you want to watch something to relax after a hard day at work, I advise you to look elsewhere; this will only make you more tired (although it might work if you want to practice rolling your eyes up).
A fever dream with questionable narrative direction. There's no world to sink into, it's a one dimensional story that tries to show more than tell and fails at it, and you're there for the ride, not to experience it yourself. The story revolves around morality as seen by a 7 year's old, in synopsis and in reality too. There's no plot points that would make you stop for a second to think, and immerse yourself into. The cuts and narrative expressions are lost in harsh and sudden transitions, making it a 24fps presentation instead of adding depth to the experience.
There are so many unanswered questions in this world. Is Bigfoot real? Are we alone in the universe? Why do people like feet? And finally, WHY TF DOES MIKI NAZUNA KEEP GETTING HIS WORK ADAPTED INTO ANIME? Did this guy sell his soul to the animation demon? Or is he just a filthy rich dude who keeps paying studios to animate his Wattpad-level OC fantasy work? I will say this again. THIS GUY GOT 15 UNFINISHED BOOKS, 15!!! He plans to write even more this year because he aims to be the fastest writer. Remember, fastest not best. QUANTITY OVER QUALITY is a thing, yes, butHOW TF ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO APPLY THAT TO WRITING A BOOK? He barely ever finishes his novels and the anime you are watching is an adaptation of one of his unfinished concoctions. Boy, why?
I’ll start with something positive. This adaptation is absolutely better than his previous adapted work "Botsuraku Yotei no Kizoku dakedo Hima Datta kara Mahou wo Kiwametemita". The story here is more concrete and dare I say it, actually has heart. Of course I mean by Miki Nazuna standards, not in general. Do not compare it to other fantasy anime. It is what it is, like how you do not compare Rent a Girlfriend to your favorite rom com. This is a one sided massacre.
You can sense he is actually trying here. This is one of his older works so he was probably still writing with his actual brain instead of autopilot and copy pasting the same shit over and over. There is world building, or at least an attempt at it. He actually put on a thinking cap to explain this world and how magic works. It is not good and it is not interesting, but still, it exists. There is also political conflict and drama, again an attempt. Instead of explaining everything in detail, Miki just says, “Fuck it, let’s make our MC sound smart and make everything he says and does correct.” Overall there is nothing remarkable about the story. Nothing here hasn’t been done better by other anime. If you have watched a ton of shovelware fantasy anime in the past few years like me, you will be like, "hey wait, I’ve seen this plot before", and you would be correct.
There are indeed anime with extremely similar plots to this. The thing is those anime, including Miki’s previous adapted work, are generally very lighthearted and comedic, but here Miki is trying way too hard to be serious. It is important to note that Miki’s work is only bearable because of the comedy, because at least it makes the anime easier to consume. Here he is going full edge and trying to make it as serious as possible.
That brings us to our MC. This is probably one of the most slapable MCs in Miki’s collection. Like the story, this guy tries way too hard to look cool and stoic. He acts like he does not enjoy living, always moody with that "Count Dooku shit eating smug face". Always flat. You could replace this guy with a cutting board and nobody would notice. Also,In classic Miki Nazuna fashion he looks like a toddler but has the power to split the sky open. Miki cannot go a day without making his MC the strongest ass wiggler in history. Every character slobbers over him. Everything he does is right and people constantly praise him. Not a single problem or obstacle sticks to him. He either uses infinite wealth or infinite strength to solve things and everyone praises him. It is like Maou Gakuin but unironically. The way he talks is also one of the most annoying I have ever heard.
I also mentioned he writes like a Wattpad OC fantasy. In his previous adapted work everyone felt like NPCs. Here he does a 180 because his MC is the most OC-est looking character in his stash. He feels so out of place in his anime. The more you see him the more he sticks out.
Can’t say the same for the heroines. Alichey, Zoey and the maid carry this hard. Not only do they look pretty, their designs are at least somewhat remarkable. Alichey’s singing makes the anime bearable, which is sad because she rarely appears. Again, a total 180 from the NPC heroine in Botsuraku Yotei.
The animation is not bad, obviously better than his previous adapted work, although the fight scenes sometimes feel like two frames per second. The OST, both the OP and ED, are textbook tryhard. Everything about this anime is tryhard.
Overall, not recommended if you respect your time. Also please stop adapting Miki Nazuna’s work.
Honestly, the writing is just terrible so far. Feels like a middle aged man's escapist, self-insert fantasy where pretty girls serve him, wipe his feet (literally), and where he's just naturally born with skills that have "never been seen before." The story holds no substance so far and it's so obvious what direction the plot is headed it. Moreover, the way in which the MC handled his first publicly political act shown in the show (with the flooding) shows how little the author probably knows about politics. The crown prince, who is over 20 years older than the MC, makes it very obvious from episode1 that he has it out for him. And yet, the way in which the MC handled the flooding and the money laundering (with his only proof while taking action being witness testimony) was never put into question. Simply beheading that noble was seen as a "heroic act" and "what he needs to do as a noble" without any due justice is something that politically could be used against him, and wasn't for some reason. The entire story so far just reads as someone that doesn't know how to play human related politics. There was no thought put into this. It was simply something the MC could do to make himself "look good."
Like... So far the MC is the definition of a male Mary Sue.
At least he isn't overtly perverted and misogynistic like another isekai character we know......
(2 points for the studio) ( 0 for the anime ) made an account and waited for a week just to rate this anime. A very bad story with no build-up for events, everything just happens for no reason ( the writer wants it to happen ) felt really stupid watching this. Most characters just look good, but have no brain and stubid, everything feels like it was there for the MC to have it. It just doesn't make sense. Nothing makes sense. I've watched more than 500 anime shows, and I've never been more ragebaited this much to roast a bad anime. Please geta life or watch anything else but this one.
As isekai gary stus goes this is probably the worst. MC is an unliekable pompous prick. While we don't know what MC's previous life is like. He straight up is a grating 6 years old that acts as if everyone other than his family is below him. And everything seems to bend around to make him the impressive 6 year old that he is not. Hard pass. I generally enjoy decent isekais that border with gary stu trope but there is no tension here, MC will solve problem with his "awesome" intelligence and skill that other adults can't seem to think of. Sure he probably diedas an adult in his past life but his problem solving skills is just your average person's level, but the anime makes it like he's some awesome kid that he is not.
All the other supporting characters are bland, they are there to be cheerleaders for the MC to showcase how incompetent they are so that MC can come in and save the day.
I dropped this after episode 5. The concept was genuinely great and the main character was quite interesting up until the end of that episode. The worldbuilding and setup had me invested, and I was curious to see where the story would go. However, everything changed when the MC destroyed a priceless piece of art purely for the sake of its monetary value. That moment completely ruined the character for me. Such a disgusting action made the MC feel like a villain in my eyes rather than someone I could root for, and it broke any attachment I had to the story. I understand thatflawed characters can be compelling, but this crossed a line that made it impossible for me to stay engaged. On top of that, there was far too much inappropriate sexualization throughout the show, which only made the experience more uncomfortable. Because of these issues, I couldn’t justify continuing past episode 5 despite the strong premise.
"Noble Reincarnation: Born Blessed, So I'll Obtain Ultimate Power" clearly wants to be an amazing anime, but it runs into so many issues that it just can’t live up to what it’s trying to be. Let me explain. Plot, setting, and the story's intentions: 1. This anime is entirely built around the MC, Noah, trying to build his renown and skills to become a prominent and wise prince under the emperor (his father). The story wants to show how gifted and intelligent Noah is, with each episode having him use his abilities and magical items to pull off absurd feats and gain power and respect, all in pursuitof earning his father’s compassion.
The problem is that none of this comes with any real hardship. There’s no trial, no struggle, and basically no risk to Noah’s life or future. The show throws zero meaningful difficulty at him. Everything he wants, he gets—usually in the same episode, or at worst the next one, and often within the first few minutes.
That completely kills any sense of stakes. There’s no danger, no tension, no feeling that anything could go wrong. He’s good at everything—combat, magic items, decision-making—and never faces consequences. What should feel like the journey of a prince navigating power instead feels like a walk in the park. After a while, it gets predictable to the point of being boring because you already know how every situation will end.
2. The actual meaning behind this show:
There really isn’t any.
And to be clear, I don’t need a show to have some deep meaning. It could just be entertaining chaos and that’s fine. The issue here is that this anime doesn’t have meaning and isn’t particularly fun either.
It’s good at making you feel like something interesting is about to happen, but it rarely delivers. There are moments that almost feel engaging, but nothing that actually sticks. A week after watching, there’s basically nothing memorable.
There’s no real drive from a story standpoint. It just kind of exists—like cardboard propped up so it doesn’t fall over. It technically stands, but it can’t handle any real scrutiny.
3. Characters:
The characters are presented like they have personality, but they really don’t.
At best, they have surface-level traits. Some charm here and there, but nothing that actually feels developed. Their personalities are about as deep as a baby’s—basic and undercooked. They do get “development,” but it doesn’t meaningfully change or expand who they are.
Most of them just feel like generic roles with predictable traits. There’s nothing nuanced, nothing memorable, and nothing that really stands out.
Now for what the show actually does well (short list):
1. Nuanced scenes and political interactions:
This is easily the strongest part of the series. Whenever Noah is talking with nobles—debating, answering questions, or navigating political situations—the show actually shines a bit. These moments do a decent job of showing his intelligence and charisma.
2. It’s easy to watch:
Despite all its issues, this show is very easy to sit through. It’s the kind of anime you can pick up weekly without much effort. You can pretty much turn your brain off and get through it.
That said, this doesn’t really fix the core problems—it just makes them easier to ignore.
Overall, this isn’t terrible, and it’s definitely watchable. But there are so many better anime out there that it’s hard to recommend unless you literally have nothing else to watch.
6.5/10
Watching this anime is like craving fried chicken and getting fried chicken...but it's massively underseasoned. Going in I was already expecting a run of the mill power fantasy anime so I wasn't upset at it because of this... The execution of the power fantasy however is just extremely repetitive and devoid of any sort of personality. I normally enjoy a power fantasy every once in a while, especially if the character writing or world building is interesting enough, but there was none of the sort in this series. The main protagonist is an blank slate with no motivations and no backstory (yes, I don't care ifhe's a baby...he's clearly aware he was reincarnated so they could have easily referenced his past life to add some depth as to why he chose the choices he did).
One strength that I at least found to be worth some of my time was the time and research put into the choices the prince had. There was a hell of alot of research put into that and I applaud the researchers for this. If only they put enough time and effort into his character as well lol
This show focuses on imperial politics and management. It isn't exactly a 'city/kingdom builder,' but it's something along those lines. As far as i can tell, it's not a harem show nor is it a comedy (though it slightly has those elements). It simply puts an overpowered protagonist in the role of an imperial prince and focuses on that. Flaws: -Isekai protagonist has little to no backstory and the 'isekai' part is largely irrelevant -Usual stiff animation for a 'low-budget' light novel adaptation -MC consistently wins/succeeds/progresses (though not always) -Unrealistic and overpowered child 'somehow' beating up and outsmarting many adults -The show progresses like a documentary, but its narration isgenerally 1st person (not necessarily a bad thing, just a different type of pacing which means less character development)
Positive:
-Power Fantasy
6 year old kid? Overpowered items? Obligatory stats screen? Making plans like he's Oberstein from LOGH? Casually tossing money to solve his problems like any 'good' noble should? Ehhh, why not!
This is the type of show you don't take seriously. And every now and again, it surprises you with a sprinkle of interesting stuff that you may not have seen before in other similar stories.
So yeah, just know that this anime is unapologetic about what it is and what it's trying to do. And I think it succeeds in its pursuit.
If you like medieval/fantasy politics and an overpowered MC, then you'll surely appreciate this type of show.
Have you ever hit your head so hard that you ended up aggressively rubbing it with your hands to make the pain go away? This show just had me perform this exact movement due to how mind-bogglingly bad and unintentionally funny a scene was. If the anime was a human, it would be an insufferable nerd with no friends who isn’t even half as smart as he thinks he is and is convinced that everyone around him admires him due to his unfathomable knowledge, intelligence and charisma. The fact that it tries so hard to appear smart and sophisticated adds a layer of unintentional charme thatis very hard to achieve.
This anime has reached this sweet spot where it is watchable, but so laughably bad that it’s actually entertaining and so far I’ve only been able to watch two shows for this reason and while I wasn’t able to withstand more than 10 episodes of In Another World with my Smartphone, I actually finished this one here.
Maybe - Just maybe - some of you are insane enough to watch and even enjoy this show for the same reason, which is why I went with “mixed feelings”.
