Reviews for A Journey Through Another World: Raising Kids While Adventuring
Back to AnimeThere has been too many action or drama focused animes lately, so it's nice to get an anime that focus on family. It's cute and charming, and it was exactly what I wanted as a change. The visuals and stories are weak, and the characters are very 1 dimensional, but that's totally fine with this anime. It's just something light-hearted that you can enjoy after having an exhausting day. I sincerely hope that there will be a second season, because I did enjoyed it. The main character doesn't want to be the strongest or have revenge on a villain. He just want to raise the confused andinnocent kids that he found in a dangerous forest. He isn't even man that he got accidentally killed by a god and was resurrected in another world.
The kids are very 1 dimensional, but it's cute to see them from being scared and confused to active and curious kids, and it's cute how they stick to the main character. He is basically their father, and they don't even know what a father or a family is.
Contents: Review (first six episodes) Then updated review after completion. This show is bad. I know people throw around the term "Isekai Trash" so much more freely than they should, but I do feel as though this show is exactly that(as of episode 4). it is Trash, Garbage of the Isekai Variety. Cons -Gary Stu: main character is perfect, does everything perfect, Super overpowered. I usually am 100% ok with it, but I feel like it is done poorly here. No, It was introduced well enough, but I guess I do not like the Main character or something... IDK. It is bad. I mean even the god startsoff Apologizing to the MC.
-Pandering: It ~~appeals~~ no that is the wrong word for it. They give you everything, but it is superficial and easy. I can not imagine this show working for any one who is not just trying to play lala pretend land. It just grates on my nerves how it is done. I know the show is generally innocent, and it is part of the over arching storyline, but man, I am just put off by it.
-Artwork: Set pieces are not consistent. This is a minor one, but There are complete inconsistencies in set pieces. For example Episode 4 making a stew. Have cubed meat. Turns into sausages in the end product. This is small, but I have noticed issues like this EVERY episode, if not multiple times per episode. I might be being a stickler but this is I guess a personal pet peeve, and oh my goodness I just shouted at my TV "WHERE DID THE SAUSAGES COME FROM!" Anyways...
-Animation: I do not think it is really bad enough to complain about, but it is obvious on the lower end of what should be done.
-Feels: Hollow. Man. Maybe this should have been under pandering. It just feels like some one wanted money, and thought this was an easy way to make it. IDK, but I am not feeling a soul in it, but that is ephemeral and an unsubstantial way to look at things so maybe discount this.
Pros
-Fantasy setting: I am a fantasy Show Lover. So this is a Pro. I will try and watch pretty much anything with a fantasy/sci fi/Supernatural backdrop. This Show's world is completely acceptable.
-Character designs: All the character designs and artwork is good. Personalities are ok, if a bit off. Like they want to commit to a personality to them, but the jokes just are not hitting with me. Guild master, LOOKs unique, We get NONE OF THAT out of the conversation. Or any of the conversations.
-The story arc: I do want to know the reason for the season. I think it COULD be good storywise when we get to see it all, but all the small details are killing me.
-Hopes: I genuinely hope this gets better, Maybe I some how have just been in a really bad mood every time I watched an episode of this. I do not think it is beyond redemption. But All I am riding on with this anime is Hopes, and it very well can get better.
TLDR. It seems like it is Pandering and feels hollow, but the Story arc *MIGHT* get good, and the Characters might actually get to be more than just a paper doll for people to project themselves onto.
-----------Review Update Full season
With having watched the remaining 6 episodes I can say They were MUCH better. I did not see any more random visual inconsistencies, though I might have just become momentarily less aware. It still feels kinda hollow wish fulfillment, but I realized it has the same vibes as a children's show. Like I am getting the feeling of watching "Dragons Tales" while watching this show.
If I had to say one problem with the show that remained consistent. And It might not be a real problem, but everything always works out for the main character. Which is nice, I am glad he lives the honey glazed saccharin life. It's just not how I have experienced the world. This is fantasy right? But that is a fantasy that I can not wrap my head around, things just working right? People just believing you or taking your side? Is more fantastical than breathing underwater and saving a mermaid village. Makes me wish I had the silk life like this guy. Maybe why I disliked him was that he is living a life I can not have, even when it was just mundane things... No I disliked him because of some of the things he said/did. Still not a bad guy.
Story
There is no Over arching story. It is just one guy His two adopted siblings, and A lion A Tiger a Wolf and a THUNDERBIRD, Living their life in a fantasy world. It is like Slice of life, Done in a fantasy adventurer setting. All the plot hooks they set up... Fall flat because they did not want them.
Art
I liked the mermaid village and pretty much all the art underwater. But I like mermaids, they are cool. Village seemed kinda small though. Like that scene from Monty Python & the Holy Grail. They show a picture of Camelot and the guy mutters "it's just a model" same feeling. But it was still a pretty looking village.
Animation.
It is very lackluster in animation. Which is ok. Are you looking for fight scenes? Enjoy 2 frames per battle and instant victory. I kid you not, there are more frames in them kneading dough for bread than probably all the fight scenes combined. They only knead bread twice. There are a lot of fight scenes. So you know take it as you will.
Ok. So Lets talk about the characters. I am always looking at them. The point of anime yeah? Well The only thing I can say on this. Looking at Sylphyleel. It is a shame he was not a goddess. Like He could have been and it would have been better... But alas there are no heroines in this show. Are we sure he is... Nevermind lets just end the review.
TLDR V2 its OK. I hate the Saccharin easy no difficulty to solve stuff, but that is because I genuinely think I would get to fight a dragon before I experienced that myself. So you know... Not jealousy just pain. It did get better from the first half, by quite a bit, I came around to thinking everybody is at least ok. The story arcs got to be better enough. I change this to a 7/10 Still do not recommend.
Although this show is clearly trying to go for the "iyashikei" route rather than typical isekai "kill the demon lord" trash, it's really not doing anything well enough in any regard. The MC is straight up bland and as of EP6, still has no real quality or likeability to him, outside of the fact that he cares for his adopted siblings/children. Nothing of real note has happened in the story, mostly because when anything happens, it's hand-waved away with the MC being a typically OP isekai protag. His relationship with the gods and exploring his powers is barely even a plot thread at this point. Thekids themselves being shrouded in mystery, while also being OP as heck is about the only redeeming factor of this entire show so far.
It's almost as if the shows is an amalgamation of all the most generic and boring bits of "Campfire Cooking in a New World" and "By The Grace of the Gods" (not that either of these were mind-blowing), with a serving of copy-paste generic isekai fantasy on the side.
Mixed feelings and "mediocre" for me so far. It's something to watch because I'm bored.
Isekai Yururi Kikou tries to present a "happy-go-lucky" adventure, but it falls flat in delivering anything engaging or meaningful. The story itself lacks depth, and most episodes feel like filler with no real direction. A significant chunk of screen time is wasted on the overused trope of glorifying Japanese food, which becomes repetitive and tiresome. Instead of developing the plot or characters, the anime relies too heavily on this theme, making it feel like you're just watching one long advertisement for food culture. Visually, the art is nothing to rave about. It's not terrible, but it's far from memorable. The animation is serviceable but lacks thecreativity or polish seen in other shows of the genre.
If you're looking for something light-hearted and don’t mind an uneventful story, this anime might appeal to you. However, for viewers looking for a more captivating or well-developed plot, Isekai Yururi Kikou is a pretty dull watch and may not be worth your time.
Blink blink and glitter, shiny and sparkly. If you are looking for a feel good and adorable anime with chill and lighthearted tone, you can give this a try. The plot is simple and straight forward so turn off your brain when you watch it,sit back, don't question about the detail and enjoy the cuteness flowing through you. There's nothing intense going on in this anime, just overpowered adventurer going on with their lovely day in their lovely world, the only thing intense about this anime is a the amount of head pats that present, cause holy cow there's a lot of it. The animation is colorful and bright, it's good to say theleast.
Both the OP and ED are enjoyable, it's serene, cheerful and fun to hear.
Overall,if you are looking for some cute and cuddly anime with that "Kira~~Kira~~" energy, give this one a try
“A Journey Through Another World: Raising Kids While Adventuring”, don’t You just love short titles? Is what happens when a mature topic is turned into a meaningless comedy. I’m gonna be honest. This anime is about 3 in the writing department. I gave it a 4 only because I actually enjoyed watching this trainwreck of logic and nonsense. It uses cheap tricks to make You think You actually give a damn about the characters but somehow it actually worked on me this time. At least up until episode 6. After that the show turns into a repetitive slog. Shame because I actually like the premise. Unfortunatelythis sort of premise requires a writer with skill that far surpasses the author of this show, to make it feel organic and have an actual message. It's not a bad anime, I’ve seen much worse, it’s just meaningless.
Before we start I would like to explain something. I will be talking about “plot” and “story”. Many people use those terms interchangeably. I’m not one of those people, so to make sure everyone is on the same page…
I use the definitions for “plot” and “story” as Lisa Cron describes them:
“What happens in the story is the PLOT, the surface events.”
“STORY is about how the things that happen affect someone in pursuit of a difficult goal, and how that person changes internally as a result”.
When it comes to the story… there basically isn’t one. You could say that it’s a story about a reincarnate that takes care of two unique children he found in the forest but… that’s not exactly it. They are with him, they accompany him everywhere and he does try to teach them basic skills like math but not much, if anything, really changes due to that. This show is extremely light in the story department. There are 2, 3 if we’re being generous, story beats that actually happen. The rest is just plot.
I’ll start with the world because it’s something that bothered me a lot. As with most isekais from the last, at least, 15 years we have a world that works on game logic. We have levels, dungeons, dungeon drops, adventurer guilds, bosses and all that crappy stuff You saw a million times already in far better shows. When it comes to the world itself there isn’t anything original or brave. It's as safe as safe can be and that makes it forgettable. I don’t think You could distinguish this world from most other isekai / fantasy worlds from the last decade. That itself wouldn't be much of a problem if the story, plot and character were able to do the heavy lifting, but unfortunately… they don’t.
Takumi, our MC, is the embodiment of a Gary Stu trope, I wound’t be surprised if he was supposed to be a self insert for the author. He can do no wrong, has a solution for everything, the very gods of the world bend over backwards for him. There isn’t a thing in the entire show that had a negative consequence for him, be it short term or long term. Everything just goes his way. He even gets solutions for people's plights far in advance without even trying. It’s like watching a fresh Dungeon Master trying to create an interesting NPC without understanding what makes one. He is so overpowered that he’s probably considered a WMD in this world by those who know of his powers. He gets gifts from 3 out of 5 gods and doesn’t really have to try to make use of them. Be it a new skill, new magic or a new contracted beast. Everything for Mr Kakumi.
When it comes to personality… he has none. It’s just the same old, worn out mix of tropes: nice, helpful, tries to avoid conflict ets. If You gave me his description I wouldn't be able to tell him apart from all the other badly written MCs of isekais.
He is supposed to be a guardian to two very young kids. Yes, those kids are power houses by themselves but that doesn’t mean he should just allow them to dive into combat mindlessly, which he does almost every time. There are very few moments when he acts like a proper parental figure and even then it’s only in very trivial matters. I guess he does teach kids to read and do basic math, and those are moments when I actually liked him and the scenes themselves. Unfortunately that's just one scene in the whole show.
When it comes to the kids - Allen and Elena, things are better but not by much. The kids we see at the end of the show are not the same as the kids we see in the beginning. Their metamorphosis is visible, gradual… and unfortunately totally unearned. I really like the fact that they open up, get more bold and even start to express their individuality on 2 occasions but that’s not enough. We don’t really see them trying to overcome things. One moment they are hiding behind Takumi because they're scared, and the next they act like nothing happened. They don’t have real struggles. Same as Takumi, the world bends over backwards for them to the point that the first time they try out water magic they become competent at it in just a few seconds.
Takumi being overpowered and having two overpowered kids under his wings would make sense if he was an actual, well written mentor figure. There is a lot to say about raising kids that in time could become WNDs in their own way. Not to mention that a truly powerful mentor as an MC isn’t something that we see often and can have a ton of plot and stories all by itself. Why not show how Takumi tries and fails in the beginning to teach them that the fact they can do something, doesn’t mean that they should? Let them not understand when he means and through an experience make them understand. Show me how he struggles himself with his image as a parental figure, his doubts about his way of raising them and maybe even show how he is unable to control them in the beginning. Show me something that would make me care about any of those 3. If You think You can write it well enough, make an arc when the kids learn control by hurting Takumi to the point where he’s out of the picture for most of the episode. Make it their fault so we see that they are truly kids with powers that they can’t control just yet. That would be much more impactful and meaningful than just making them stronger, more powerful and competent by the episode. Not to mention earned. I can even accept the fact that all 3 are overpowered but in that case let them have challenges that can’t be solved with fighting or magic. For fucks sake “Superman - Peace on Earth” gave the most overpowered character of all time something he couldn’t do. A challenge he could never overcome. They made him taste one of the most bitter defeats in his comic book history and make it a catalyst for learning. They made Superman, damn Superman unable to help people, to do what he always does. Why not make something similar here? Take those 3 overpowered characters and shove them into a citation they can’t possibly beat using might or magic. It doesn’t need to be anything grande like in “Peace on Earth”, something small and personal would be good, like the kids finding out what kind of asshole their father is and having them break because of it. It’s not very original but it would do the trick.
I get that this is supposed to be a feel good story but it went about it in the worst way possible. A story like this needs contrast in its plot. You can’t just show only good parts in life because it suffocates the story itself. Without contrast the story becomes stale and boring and that’s what happened in this show. The first 5 episodes are pretty nice. Nothing groundbreaking but it works as an intro to something bigger. But the rest of the show is almost exactly the same. Nothing bad ever happens. This is supposed to be a story about raising kids. No matter how much one might try, life isn’t all burritos and strippers, there are bad things in life. Teaching that to kids (ok, maybe not that young but it could still work because of their circumstances) is one of the responsibilities of a parental figure. Those kids had already had a shitty moment in their lives before meeting Takumi giving them some more struggles of different kinds would still fit. But no. All we get for the entire 12 episodes are just good things with no consequences at all when finally something less than pleasant happens. It really annoyed me.
Ok, I know I’m giving shit to the writing and I’m not going to apologize for that. The writing is abysmal, lacks focus and any kind of message. That said, I actually enjoyed watching this trainwreck. I know about every little trick they used to make me think that I care about the story and plot and yet, the first part of the show hooked me. Despite the writing, the execution of those little tricks, like using crying children, comforting parental figure or exaggerated reactions to little things, is actually solid. Yes, they are cheap but there's a reason why they work.
Do I think this anime is a travesty of story telling?
Yes.
Do I think the writers are incompetent?
Yes.
Do I think I wasted my time watching this?
Surprisingly - No. For the first 5 episodes I really had some fun and the later episodes do have at least one thing that was entertaining enough for me to continue watching (apart from me having OCD and Asperger that is).
I wouldn’t recommend this but I also understand why someone who just wants to turn off their brain would find it enjoying.
This anime was one of those that wasn't good but wasn't bad either. It just kind of existed. The characters were likable but too much of the story seemed flat. There was a lot of cuteness but sometimes it felt like there was only cuteness and it didn't always carry things well. The occasional moments of drama were nice but they were too few and far between. Everything felt a little too easy but nothing was ever off-putting enough to make me drop the series. I didn't need it to be grimdark or anything, but it'd have been nice if it felt like there wasmore effort happening to get places in the story.
If you like something low key with minimal conflict then you might want to check this out. If you're looking for something that will make you feel things then you might want to look elsewhere.
First off if you are after an anime with a hard-hitting storyline with plenty of action and plot, this is not the anime for you so don't judge it as so. If you enjoy a nice chill anime that you can just sit back watch and relax this is the perfect anime. This is the perfect anime to watch with your young children and even help them get into the anime scene. It is the perfect gateway into anime for your kids, as the anime has a lovely heartwarming, slice-of-life, adventure, fantasy story that is not hard to follow and you can just casually enjoy itat any age. If you just want to veg and watch something that's not too serious or you need an anime to lighten your mood and give you a pick-me-up, then this anime is perfect for that.
Over all this anime is definitely not what I was expecting when I started watching it, but in a good way. I think the show turned out better than I thought it would in a different way.
Its one of those isekai where nothing happens. Its just a bunch of random encounters. Main character is accidentally killed by a god. But he cant be revived to his own world. He can only be revived in a fantasy world. So he is reincarnated into a fantasy world with overpowered abilities. But instead of encountering a girl who immediately falls in love with him as these isekai tend to do he instead encounters twin children who imprint on him instead. These twins are also over powered. From here nothing happens plot-wise. Its literally a bunch of random encounters in different levels of a dungeon. Killing monstersand collecting loot.
Its also one of those isekai where the main character is given a menu screen he can analyze and check monster levels. I hate that, its so stupid.
The MC joins a guild (because of course this anime has a heroes guild). And he creates a hero party with these twin preschoolers...and the guild allows it...
One guy shows up angrily that these kids are allowed to join the heroes guild. He is presented as the typical condescending asshole character that you tend to see in these types of anime. However lets be real, he does have a point, kids really shouldn't be part of a heroes guild even if they are powerful. This guild really needs an age restriction. What guild would allow toddlers to fight?!
The twins are cute and all. But the main character is just generic isekai hero. Like really really generic.
Conclusion: this is generic isekai number 46798.
If you're gonna watch this watch it subbed. The dub version is super cringy.
Based on the first 3 episodes, I have a good feeling about this show. If you like a cutesy and sweet anime with OP main characters then I would definitely recommend this one. The story itself is something I haven't seen before. It is of course the typical "op mc and gang" kind of show, but this is very refreshing compared to other power fantasy shows. The simplicity of the animations really suits the fun and careless kind of nature of the show. The characters are also very fun, they all balance each other and help to make the show as enjoyable as it is. Iwill have to update this as the show goes on, but so far it's definitely worth the watch!
I have now seen 6 episodes and I still feel really good about this show. There have some points that I didn't expect but they were welcome. To not spoil anything I wont mention it obviously. But based on the first half of episodes being released I feel like its definitely a show that deserves a watch. If you like power fantasy then this is something you should watch.
I’m pretty sure the target audience of this anime is actual children. It’s not just that the plot is simple because a simple plot can still be interesting, it’s that the plot is just so shallow and there’s no stakes to anything. The characters are for the most part completely without any personality. The twins’ only personality trait is parroting whatever Taku says and one shot kicking anything that stands in their way. That’s it, that’s the whole plot. Every single episode uses the same formula so it gets super repetitive about halfway through the series. I like adventuring anime and I like childcare anime, but I did not like the way this anime did either of those genres.
If you're looking for an anime while you just chill in your sofa or bed, well this one is for you! It may not be your typical adventure isekai but what makes it special is it's not over stimulating and could be a pleasant watch while you're destressing. No overbearing characters, cute children, and an average MC. It's easy to understand and watch the anime since it doesn't have any complex issues and scenes going on, smooth transitions of arc and you kinda ask for more. With the art style, it does suit the anime well and it fits the ambiance of the story itself, itmay no longer be unique from all of the anime out there, but it is enjoyable on itself as it has great glimpse of the world building as well.
Hoping I get to watch more animes like this!
Okay this series is NOT deep. It's not pretending to be either. Basically this is another that falls under what I call "pallet cleanser anime". It's a sweet fun nothing of an anime with a not complex but still well done art style. It's kid friendly but can be a nice relaxing "chill out" anime between the more serious and dramatic stuff for adults. Teens will probably NOT like it for exactly these reasons. The story is simple but not boring, the characters aren't "deep" but there is enough going on that you aren't all "oh god this again". It's not the standard"x goes wrong, we do the 30 second brew potion animation and it's all fixed, rinse repeat" cycle that you see in see others too.
The music is up-beat and pleasant, the voice acting was solid enough, and the animation style fit the project.
I'm using it as a cleanser between some much darker and heavier stories and it's PERFECT for that. (Along similar lines as another where an abused salaryman died from falling out of bed and was reincarnated as a kid who did great things with slimes. I forget the name but it serves a similar purpose for me as that one did.)
As an "anime in total" I'd give this a 6.5, I'm rounding it up to 7 because for the TYPE/style of anime it is and what it's trying to be it does that particular thing quite well.
As always your personal mileage may vary.
Genuinely enjoyed this anime actually. For a change this was just nice family friendly anime where there is no huge tragedy, it's just a guy trying to rise two kids. I like that the kids actually have character development and they change, Takumi was fun to watch too in his role of older brother. I will be happy if there will be next season of this anime. It was nice and chill. Animation was good enough i guess what i enjoyed was some old sounds and old usage of sounds, and story it self was just was to watch so if you are trying to findanime that you can chill with and then go watch something more serious this is it.
Well it's the generic isekia anime, the only things that set it apart is the child care sorta which the center attention of the is anime but theirs other ones that kinda do childcare better sorta of. But the stories isn't sort of unique. Shield hero is better childcare anime. Physics go out the window in ocean scenes most the eating food and liquids. Character are bland and boring . Their isn't really story it's mostly isekia slice of life. Animation is good. Childcaring could have more depth in the story missed opportunities. It's an okay watch for having in the background .
Here’s the thing: yes, it’s another isekai. However, it’s a cute one. The fantasy elements are there for the male audience, and the cuteness with the kids appeals to the female and child demographic. It’s got humor as well as moments in it that are a little suspenseful. This anime is enjoyable for a binge. It’s got the over the top items like overpowered skills and items, but that’s typical for a fantasy styled isekai. The plot hops at times but does seem to find its way back to a main topic. Overall, it’s just a lighthearted, quirky anime that is good for the casualanime fan. I would like to see a season 2 of this, especially with how the plot for the first season built up.
It's not your average isekai, sure, and it's fun to watch. The wholesomeness almost gives it more of a relaxed vibe. The characters (especially the side characters) drive the fun of the story, though I'm not entirely sure what the narrative is trying to accomplish. It's rife with contrived short plots that end or start just out of some kind of convenience to the MC, so it's really hard to tell where they want to go with this. It really doesn't have the pull (or Macguffin) that other shows have but each episode is still comfy to watch. The animation is, well...kind of suitable tothe work but nothing to write home about. The kids are cute and it's nice to see how they all interact, including the contracted beasts. If you're looking for a high impact thriller, this is not going to be your jam. I do also like him introducing all kinds of meals and sauces and such to people that might as well have been eating cardboard. Still, most episodes, while having enjoyable moments, fall kind of flat with the lack of tension or direction. In a way it feels almost like a slice of life anime than an isekai, not that it can't be both.
If you're looking for something more relaxed and cute this summer, I definitely recommend this title. It's not the most well written but it's still enjoyable. The art...not great; the sound...dull. However the characters are fun to see and perhaps the narrative will be fleshed out better later. This seems like a character driven show, so on that level it's done a great job. I sincerely think it's fine, but mostly forgettable, even if I want to see more.
Overall, 7/10 for me. Although that is borderline since artistically speaking it's not that great.
You don’t really watch this anime for plot or the story telling. It’s mainly for cuteness factor and boy do they deliver. Everyone loves the sounds of young kids laughing and playing and watching Elena and Alan laugh and play warms your heart and heals your soul. If you like the anime Fluffy Paradise then his is right up your alley. You have a doting older MC and you have young toddlers. You have sacred beasts and other animals that love the twins and formed a pact with the twins and MC and follow them around. These two are so adorable and every episode willhave you smiling ear to ear at how cute they are. From dressing alike to saying the same things at the same time. Also their facial expressions and how they get mad when someone tries to eat their food or when they think someone is being mean to the MC. Like I said if you want a anime that has a great plot, good story telling and character development and fight scenes then this isn’t for you. But if you want to watch a fun, easy going adventure of twins that are really strong along with the Mac and watch young twins on an adventure learning, exploring, being curious and adored by everyone then this is the perfect anime for you. Warning: you will develop cavities and diabetus ( diabetes ) lol
**Cuteness Overload** It may turn off some people for being plotless, but this isekai is a guilty pleasure of mine. Basically, a god accidentally killed a man Kayano Takumo, so he had no choice but to live in another world. There he meets two children and he is acting as their guardian. It goes without saying that they are overpowered. And the rest is their story. It has no plot but it has events where Takumi and his kids Allen and Elena gain experience through various adventures such as conquering dungeons or gathering certain herbs. They also gain animal friends. There's nothing remarkable about the art andanimation, and they don't need to. Basically, they're just there to explore the world and the point is that these kids are just there for the guilty pleasure of seeing cute kids doing cute things. It's so much wholesome that it's safe to watch it with your kids.
Each episode is one complete whole. They may change scenery but it follows from the scene earlier, unlike many episodes of Giji Harem where it was several skits thrown together into one torturous episode. This is how you do a plotless episode that's actually enjoyable.
Missed opportunities: The god here, Silphyleel, is a very funny character. At one point, I felt that this show was funnier than Deer Friend. He was prominent in Episode 1 but rarely do we see him. As enjoyable as this anime was, it would have been even better if he had been around.
I won't mind a season 2, but just like the similar isekai Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear, I don't see it having a serious plot down the road.
I've watched up to episode 7 of this series, and I have to say, I'm really enjoying it so far. While the main character, Takumi, finds himself in a typical isekai world, the show stands out by focusing on the relationship between Takumi and his "children" and the adventures they embark on together. Unlike the usual anime tropes where the story revolves around a potential romance between the lead characters, this series takes a refreshing approach by emphasizing the warmth and bond of a found family. Takumi’s humble and sweet personality makes him a perfect fit for the role of a caring "older brother" tothe two children. Without giving too much away, I’ve noticed that from the opening to the closing of each episode, there’s a genuine sense of joy and happiness that fills the screen—whether they’re fighting monsters, camping, or simply exploring this new isekai world together as a family.
As someone who enjoyed Spy x Family and Rising of the Shield Hero, this series feels like a blend of both, offering comforting and heartfelt moments within an isekai setting, complete with adorable animal companions. I would definitely recommend this anime to anyone who loves "feel-good" iyashikei shows, rather than those who are primarily into action-packed shonen adventures.
