Oh, yeah. Lets gooooo! This anime is sht. Sht story, sht visuals, sht character development. Surprisingly, at first I thought it was gonna be decent. Yes same tropes, yes meh visuals, but the MC seemed a bit different, a bit better. Then the weird family is on and I thought "oh, I was wrong". And then the MC starts showing that he's OP, and the duel was interesting, and I thought "oh, maybe it will be decent". But then, for the last time, I went "nope, it is bad". And then it got worse :)))) So, the review. Visuals. Bad. The artstyle, the colour palette, the cinematography, theanimation, the fight choreography. All bad. Ok, fine. Some (recycled) establishing shots have decent graphics and colours. You happy now?

Audio. Meh audio design, it sounded ok-ish, nothing special. Decent enough OP (even catchy maybe), with a less than meh ED. VA very basic. Granted, not the greatest story or dialogue, but still meh at best. I'd rather blame the director, because you know the cast IS capable. (bro, Hayami Saori!!)

World-building. Minimal, if any. The magic system is sht, you can always expect some new nonsense that the MC will invent. Pacing. I don't even know how to put it. Stuff happens all the time, but stuff is also boring, because of the story. Character development, nope. OK, fine. There is something resembling a character for some side character B. Low production value.

Now, the amazing parts. The premise might be interesting, even if its the same as any other: MC ridiculed 'cause different, MC shows them that actually he OP. The main difference: he puts in the work. We have some time skip (6 months, 3 years) and theres even training montage. Like I said, when it started it felt different. Then, it all goes to sht. Horrendous script. Horrible dialogue. Plot devices, plot contrivances and plot holes all around. You need to move the plot forward? Use one of those. And the fking "What is that? Oh, you don't know even about that?" trope.... And then: no character development, one-dimensional and very cartoony "villains" with dialogue of the same type "Muahaha, I am evil, there's nothing you can't do, stop trying. Impossible, how can you be this powerful?" *sigh*

Ok, fine (again). Not all of it is terrible. Some of the jokes are ok, some of the setups and payoffs are decent. So about 5% of this anime is decent. GG WP.

Another aspect to consider, this season has two parts, or two arcs, if you will. The first 4-5 episodes (must be 5, because 4 seems too few) are mostly described by what I've said earlier, while the 2nd part is worse. Yes, those things resembling a character arc (not for the main cast) appear here, but the story and the pacing go bonkers. One episode for every checkmark that needs to happen. I don't wanna spoil it, so just "trust me bro" :D

And after all that, the last episode is even more sh***er. Pacing, story, exposition drop dialogue, "characters", stick-figure-like animation, everything is just dumpsterfire.

WTF else there is to say? just a minute, this anime fried my brain... Oh, right. The comedy is meh, but some might like it; people do have weird tastes, I don't judge. The action is meh. Weird animation, fight choreography, plot. Fantasy: I guess... I mean they have magic skills, sword skills, but also wireless microphones..... And there's no romance (there's no tag, I know, but one can always hope, why not?). So, why should you watch it? Sorry, nothing comes to mind. Oh, you should watch it if: you're somebody that watches as much as he/she can every season, if you have nothing else going but you also don't wanna re-watch an older title, if you're the kind of person that believes in "fk review, must check with my own eyes". Stuff like that.

It gets a rating of 3 (I was pondering if it should be a lil bit higher, but then the last episode happened, so no. If any, it should be even lower...). No enjoyment factor, no re-watch value. An action fantasy, with less than average visuals, story, script, dialogue, character etc. Basically void of any redeeming factor. It is bad, borderline waste of time.

The source might be better (don't know it, I won't check it), but also: better =/= good (and here you can already deduce it from its structure).

Have a lovely day.

The first three episodes are promising, but then it is a huge let down. It is almost like a kid narrating a story which goes from setup to conclusion in a matter of seconds. Compare this to a show like Wistoria (which is similar premise). - Characters have one-track or minimal personality - The world so far feels an inch deep - MC's motivation is let's see how far I can go (fair, but also feels like lazy writing) - Power system is poorly explained and implemented - Given the trajectory, I can already guess what is going to happen in the next 6 episodes.(Anything the MC picks up, he'll master it to god level with offscreen hard work)

I see a common trend among a lot of the medieval fantasies recently. They do a poor job of grounding the MC and power systems. Abilities should come with restrictions. Balancing them and growing the MC is what makes you cheer for the characters. Doing it well is difficult, so in the guise of power fantasy authors don't even bother with it anymore.

Hero Without a Class: Who Even Needs Skills?! - Yeah...I mean, the title says it all. I feel like with every single iteration of generic mid Isekai reincarnation/fantasy story, it's like going into an arcade centre and heading straight for the "Whack-A-Mole" game to deduce what the show featured is all about...especially if it's the same doodad/plethora of titles that you can obviously tell from its rather simplistic nature of visuals and premise. This award, however, and particularly, goes to one publisher by the name of Earth Star Entertainment, where despite their long history, the realm of titles they license are interesting at best (though I'llleave you to look at their MAL biography to see what the company is like).

For the Fall 2025 season, of the 2 titles that come from the company entity itself, it's clear who is the runaway victor and who came up obviously short, and novelist Shichio Kuzu's rather short-lived 4-volume series of Mushoku no Eiyuu: Betsu ni Skill Nanka Iranakatta n da ga a.k.a Hero Without a Class: Who Even Needs Skills?!, is one such example of living the highs and lows of contributing to the generic wasteland of "quality" ideas, even for fantasy at its most basic elementals.

From the outset, you have a family...that looks typical from the outside, but on the inside, they're far from stereotypical. Should it colour anyone surprised? The troupe that consists of legends and their offspring naturally has both of their DNA together, and this is what you get by looking at Arel and his rather famous family with the "Sword Princess" Farah and the "Magic King" Leon, alongside his sisters, the older Astea and younger Mila, with the former being the generic OP MC who, due to the magnitude of his magic that's been trained by his parents since he was young, is labelled as "Classless," the rare instance of someone not being able to be bestowed any skills from their world's Goddess (of which everyone has at least one). Despite that, as one would typically say of how people without labels get ridiculed for someone "justified" weak, they're anything but, as is the definite case for Arel here.

As for the rest of that story, it's just really bare-bones from someone who really has a start and an end goal to the story, and there's just not much justification to push the story to unfulfilled potential...which I'm thankful for that Shichio Kuzu chose to just focus on that and (potentially) not give readers of either the LN or the manga counterpart a really bad time...if you're looking for a medieval fantasy-adventure story that doesn't overstay its welcome. Because, and let's face it, there's just nothing interesting here (or maybe a mustard seed worth of monocule at best). As soon as Arel comes out of his familial shell, there come the stereotypical guilds and parties that one MUST be accustomed to in that day and age, and few lone wolves like Arel can survive on their own, which is a rarity. Despite that, Arel soon finds himself forced and tied to one of the former A-tier parties of Dragon Fang that has lost its lustre, supported by the rather thirsty young girl Lilia, who always tries to sexually harass him whenever she can and who, coincidentally, is the daughter of Dragon Fang's former leader, who has to forcefully rope him in to fulfill party obligations. Alongside the two, Arel also sees his longtime archrival Rainer, whom the former assumes to be a male until she's not, and beating her in a swordfight when they were young, she is a rather charming young adult with her assets clearly shown and being more worthy to be Arel's future partner (with all of the lovey-dovey whooshes from his parents) than Lilia.

A rather simple party, but with Arel's idea of improvisation by trying to reach for the stars with as much magic as he can muster, it's not a bad idea, honestly, with the potential to evolve the formula. But as it is, this is the unmistakingly oh-so-painfully-obvious route that the series has taken to show just about as many things of generic fantasy slop that, for the life of me, I have no idea why Japan keeps steering into mediocrity for the sake (and probably sanity) of it.

Obviously, with a studio like Studio A-Cat, it's easy to see why any anime production is at its budgeted lowest, because the 3rd-rate studio is just that—being consistently at the bottom of the lot when all is said and done. I mean, why should anyone expect much from A-Cat in the first place, though I'll give them props that at least the overall production, which stinks of full 2D mediocrity, is in line with typical AniManga standards, rather than some weird interpretation/experimentation of a show that tries so hard to stand out in bad 3DCG (I'm looking at you, WanDance). Not much to say if it's mediocre to begin with and decent at times.

The music...is just as unremarkable as the series itself, with rookie composer Kent Asahina at the helm, with this being his most recent work after last season's Kamitsubaki-shi Kensetsuchuu a.k.a Kamitsubaki City Under Construction. It's completely forgettable, as is said with Earth Star Entertainment's own music group Utahime Dream's OST when it comes to the OP and ED, of which Kaya is a member, performing the former solo. It's just average idol-centric music, to be very frank, that still can't quite hold its own weight together.

On a casual watch, Mushoku no Eiyuu a.k.a Hero Without a Class, is easily cannon fodder for generic medieval fantasy, but at least I can give it a "3-episode rule" binge-worthy award from its starting promises. Even as it wanes into stereotypical fantasy that drops the excitement with each passing episode, its couch potato status leaves a lot to be desired, admittedly towards people dropping the show (which I can definitely see why). This is also where my PSA comes in: if you know shows that are just not going to deliver, temper your expectations to find something good within the bad, as much as this anime is a popcorn fest in the "appropriate" sense. And for what it was, it's...just OK.

The story is nothing special, the characters design borders on generic, and the animation fairly average. Pretty much a filler show in a season with plenty of good new and returning shows. It does have its brisk pacing going for it. I still watched it. It gives me plenty of story in twelve episodes, and the release is consistently weekly. I guess, the production staff saw the writing on the wall and decided this was one season show and crammed as much of story in it knowing they will never get that second season. The main character is your standard overpowered protagonist. He may be "classless" andtrained to achieve all those skills, but the fights and his victories don't seem earned. He basically speed run his character arc and hero's journey in 12 episodes.

However, if you look at the character as a person on the spectrum and "classless" as a euphemism for autism, and it may explain why the main character has this blank expression 98% of the time. It could work.

Given the pace of the story, one could try the first few episodes and decide whether this anime is for them. It's a low commitment show, and easy to drop if it gets boring. However, it's different for me, it's a guilty pleasure viewing in the middle of the week with few or no other show premiering an episode.

Story Hard work beats talent with swords, that’s basically the whole idea of this anime so far. The first three episodes are usually what sell you the dream of a deep story, exciting fights, and interesting characters, but here I’m not fully convinced yet. It looks decent, and the setup has potential, but I worry the studio might only push the story forward in extreme or random moments. The comedy tag is there, but honestly, I haven’t found anything really funny yet. Maybe that will change later, but right now it’s pretty average. Artstyle You can clearly see the limited budget. Monsters are simple, and skill effects arejust good enough to get the job done. There’s no detailed environment or unique visual style to the characters either. Still, it’s not terrible, just very basic and safe.

Conclusion

If you’re looking for something deep or emotionally strong, this anime will probably disappoint you. I wouldn’t say it’s worth waiting weekly for new episodes, but if you just want something light to have in the background, it’s fine. It’s simple, easy to follow, and decent enough for casual watching.

This is a masterclass on how to make a bad story. Set up a world where the standard is people having classes; this is a known fact from episode 1. Then you have a generic MC who is classless, so they work hard to hone their body and mind. So far so good, then you get to the next episodes, and all the world-building is undone by the MC, who can just do everything, so instead of him being dead weight, they can just do all class-based skills, often impossible feats for people born with a class. You will gain nothing from this anime. I suggestmoving on. If I could give less than 1, I would

Thanks

This show has all the hallmarks of a terrible power fantasy. MC that's made out to be incredibly weak but ends up being OP. Every character he meets thinks he's a loser and then is massively surprised by how strong he is over and over again. Just based on that I should no recommend this show. HOWEVER It has a weirdly cozy vibe and got more than one belly laugh out of me. It genuinely subverted my expectations a handful of times. And the pacing was so incredibly fast that I never found myself getting bored. I found the side characters mostly charming/funny even though theyall fawn over the MC.

I'm putting this show into the category of 'so bad that it becomes good.'

10/10 cozy slop show. Don't watch if you want an actual story or character development though.

This anime works well as a metaphor for how innate abilities can narrow one’s perspective and ultimately limit what a person can achieve. Beyond that philosophical angle, it is a fairly generic power-fantasy anime with average art, animation, and story. What makes it entertaining, however, is the fast plot progression—new developments happen constantly, which keeps the series engaging. The main character is also fairly well balanced (even if a bit too mature for his age) and avoids fully falling into overused tropes and clichés. Many similar anime would have stretched the same material over two seasons, padding it with boring fan service and recycled clichés, oftenfeaturing a protagonist who feels like a cheap Kirito clone. While this MC is clearly somewhat inspired by Kirito, he still feels unique and realistic.

That said, the dialogue and overall pacing can feel a bit slow. Watching at 1.25× speed significantly improved the experience and pushed it close to a 7.5/10 for me. Since that level of enjoyment required speeding it up, I’m rounding the rating down rather than up.

My normal rating for this would be around a 3, but on a trash-anime scale I’d give it a 6. This one is basically comfort food for trash-anime enjoyers. It’s actually pretty entertaining if you have nothing better to do, but it’s also as generic as it gets. The show follows the classic formula where the same situations repeat themselves within a single season, often in the same places with the same characters. At least the animation isn’t completely terrible like in some other trash fantasy anime, it’s serviceable, nothing impressive, but also not painful to watch. The whole “MC is missing something everyone else has, gets mockedfor it, and then absolutely destroys everyone” setup is always kind of funny at first. But let’s be honest, you get at least three shows like this every single season. This one doesn’t really do anything new with that concept.

Honestly, I feel a bit like Rakuro from Shangri-La Frontier — except instead of broken trash games, I willingly dive into trash fantasy anime. Someone has to do it.

Overall, it’s nothing special at all and definitely not something you’d ever rewatch. But for what it is, a straight-up trash fantasy anime, it was honestly okay. Sometimes that’s enough.

The show starts off with a cool concept and will have you thinking ''Oh, I wonder where this will go''. Well it doesn't go anywhere, and there's nothing to spoil since nothing happens. It's the seasonal isekai with a decently interesting concept, but there is just no story. In addition to that, the characters are just weird, like the mc is smart enough to figure out all those abilities and spells or whatever, but he doesn't even realize he's strong? If nothingburger was a show, this would be it, there is no substance, no story, nor will anything interesting happen in it. The plot literallyjust doesn't go anywhere. It's predictable and boring after the first few episodes, in addition, the animation just gets slowly worse and worse (even worse than opm s3), or maybe it was always bad and I was just willing to look past it.

As someone who truly enjoys isekai, I hate these shows that make the genre look so bad, this is pure slop and not worth watching, total waste of time.

This is your generic OP MC fantasy. Do not expect anything really, it's moreso a fun filler anime to watch on the side for the sake of it. It plays the story out pretty decently and logically, and thankfully it doesn't heavy rely on a lot of trope-y plot armor. Do not watch this anime if you are looking for a well-developed, lore rich, serious anime. You have been warned. The anime was definitely a fun watch, especially if you have a guilty pleasure of watching all the random fantasy and isekai anime nowadays. Something about this one really struct a chord for me for somereason, maybe because I am a sucker of these fantasy stories. The premise is great and honestly the story started at its highest point, but as the story went on you can tell the plot isn't really taking itself very seriously and so it slowly comes down from its potential. It definitely doesn't stray far though, because the storytelling is pretty consistent across the board. If you take the story for what it is, it's a fairly entertaining but very mid anime. For a lighthearted anime, it's a lot of fun.

Also worth mentioning, the last episode is godawful. Like genuinely trash tier levels of anime. It was insanely rushed to reach a specific point in the story, and manga readers have pointed out that episode 12 was literally an entire story arc condensed into a single episode. Apparently multiple fights and entire chunks of the plot would entirely omitted so we could get to a specific stopping point. I kind of understand if they didn't have a big budget to begin with and there were no plans for S2, but it still would have been better to end on a cliffhanger than to do whatever they did here. The last episode nearly made me put this anime as "Mixed Feelings" but in the end, I still enjoyed episodes 1-11 so I would still say it's a decent watch. In fact, the last episode made me drop the rating down a whole digit. But I digress, it was still fun.

I wouldn't typically review an anime after only 6 episodes, but I feel like I have to get my thoughts out on this one whilst it's fresh on my mind. Hero without a class is another run of the mill anime about the main character being over powered and being able to defeat pretty much anyone he comes across without any issues whatsoever. It's a trope that has been done to death at this point and honestly I'm at the point I don't mind it because of that fact. Sometimes I won't finish them if I just find them downright boring and Hero without aClass I'm finding it somewhere down the middle. I'm liking it, I do plan on continuing it, but I'm not finding it to be anything more than ok at best.

My main issue with the show comes from Arel, the main character of the show. I find that guy to be ridiculously dull. His ENTIRE personality is about getting stronger. He can be defined under a term known as "Flanderization" a term used to giving a character one personality and one personality only. In this case the only thing Arel cares about, is getting stronger to compensate not having a blessing from the god of the world. I'm all for a character wanting to get stronger, but when an entire character can't even have fun, crack jokes or talk about anything other than his training. It gets to the point it gets stale very fast. Episode 6 has just finished as of writing this and despite his accomplishments so far, he's still going on about getting stronger. We can't just have even a 5 minute break from it.

A lot of these animes do this, mainly Isekai: They will focus less on making a good story and instead focus on getting the main character as strong as possible in such a short space of time. They will do this to a point that they're defeating everything really fast and there's no build up, and there's almost nothing to watch. Hero without a Class also has a ridiculous amount of time skips and moments that he will coincidently have learned a new skill or ability off screen so that the current scenario benefits from it. You don't see this though so it almost feels like a slideshow of events. It's disappointing. This anime has potential but they haven't done anything with it. I can't care about a character or an anime if I'm not given a reason to care. When there's no build up or tension, it gives me nothing to hype up or get excited about which leads it to be lack luster.

Overall, anime is fine but is quite disappointing. Unless it picks up in the last 6 episodes I wouldn't watch a second season of this because each episode feels like deja vu

15/03/2026 - Small edit: Just finished after inititally dropping it. It's pretty ass

Here we are again with another mid-tier fantasy anime, aren't you excited? That being said Hero Without a Class: Who Even Needs Skills?! honestly isn't as bad as I thought it'd be. good? no. but it's not mind-numbingly terrible either, like with a lot of mid-tier fantasies. plot: In this world kids obtain their skills by the age of 10, stuff like a blacksmith skill, swordsman skill, mage skill, you get the picture. But our protagonist, Arel ends up being classless despite being the son of the "Sword Princess" and the "Magic King", now you'd think his parents would all of a sudden become cold towards himbecause that's usually how these things go, but no, surprisingly his parents are still encouraging towards him and support him. Since his mother is the "Sword Princess", he trains his own sword skills by practicing with her, which leads him to be stronger than most people with a sword class and even developing skills despite him being classless. fucking shocker, I know.

While sparring with some kids, a totally not girl (Raina) demands to spar with him because their father is a captain and they want to prove themselves by sparring with the son of the "Sword Princess", and they get absolutely flabbergasted when Arel can learn their skills from sparring with them...oh yeah, and it's a girl. Sometimes it can be funny if done well, but I'm really sick of the whole "person I thought was a boy as a kid is actually a girl" gag, not that it plays a major role here, they time skip in literally the next episode but it's still kind of annoying, because she was obviously a girl like no shit. Arel was blind af as a child.

After the time skip, Arel travels to the same sword city where Raina went to like 5 years later and when he gets there he's bombarded by a short energetic fencer named Lilia who's desperate for new members since their guild is pretty dead, turns out the only members there are her, Raina, because of course, and her father, Rod, who used to fight alongside Arel's mother before losing his arm...and yes, he also looks like a grown up Rudeus. Despite trying to kick him out after learning he's classless, Lilia relents after he spars with Raina again and wins, and yeah that's kind of the whole plot.

characters:

Arel is slightly better than most stoic fantasy MCs, for one he actually gets stronger instead of just immediately getting powers that could obliterate everything within a 5 mile radius, and his not-so-subtle flirting with Raina is pretty fun. But other than that he's pretty generic and boring. Raina is a more subtle tsundere, she has those tendencies but it's not in your face like most anime, her rivalry with Arel is practically nonexistent after the first episode and it becomes more like a "will they, won't they" dynamic. Finally, Lilia is the energetic, mischievous gremlin type character, she wants to marry Arel for the sake of keeping the guild running, and teases Raina with her fake affection towards him...that's about it, she's not really useful in combat, even Arel called her useless to him, most of her importance seems like it'll stem from being Rod's daughter since Rod has had troubles with a guy named Georg who seems like he's going to be the main antagonist. Even though Rod isn't one of the main 3, he might be the best written character so far, a man who lost his passion and turned to alcohol, but despite his struggles he still wants to protect his daughter and find his passion again despite only having one arm (he's a dual swordsman)

art and animation:

it's Studio A-Cat, it's not good. It's very mid animation, This is the type of shit OPM S3 haters see when they watch OPM S3. To be fair to A-Cat though, this is probably the best anime they've ever done which is uh...not a big accomplishment since this show is just slightly above mid imo.

Overall, it's a decent generic fantasy anime that at least tries to tell an engaging story with alright characters. The whole thing with Georg seems like it can be interesting, and I appreciate it's more than just an "adventurers go down to the dungeons and kill monsters" like a majority of these types of shows. I'll probably drop this at some point, but watching more than 3 episodes and it not feeling like a complete waste of time means it's at least a 6/10 in my book.

This anime was not quite as good as I was hoping, but it was cuter and had its moments. As a fantas yenjoyer, it was nice seeing a show that isn't a isekai, so it will get some bonus points for that. However I felt as though the world lacked much creativtiy, the entire world felt not very fleshed out, with the entire premise of the show, the classes, not really ever being explained properly, can people changes classes? how does that work? But the fantasy vibe wasnt the only issue I had, the entire plot lacks any depth. The show is split in two, half swordshalf magic, and nothing is really developed. The show sort of wastes your time for sure, maybe watch on 2x speed.

A decent fantasy with good lovable characters, but not much below the surface. Watch it if you just want some cheap fun. 6/10

TLDR: 6/10 easy to watch, nice story similar to modern titles, hardworking protagonist. Studio needs to min/max backgrounds to put more effort into the fight animation. -1 point for bro-sis love and skipping fights on the last episode. I have been watching people leave bad reviews since episode three, and it is unfair and doesn't do the anime justice. I will make notes on certain points and not talk about how bad their reviews are. If you don't like op mc, then watch your other anime. I will use abbreviations to make the review shorter. The MC doesn’t start overpowered—he inherits abilities and knowledge from his parents, then works hard, travels, and trains to master multiple disciplines while forming allies. The story is fun, easy to watch, and very bingeable, like eating Pringles. The voice acting is solid, and I’m excited to see what skills and fights come next.

The main weakness is the animation. It’s not bad, but it feels like it comes from a less experienced studio, instead of strategically simplifying scenes to focus effort on big moments (like Mob Psycho, Dragon Maid, or One Piece).

-Kobayashi Dragon Maid uses simplified elements like white screens, blurry backgrounds, and cutaways in intense scenes to focus effort on key moments, such as detailed still shots of a dragon eye or powerful charge-up attacks.

-Mob Psycho- during a big attack, they draw the MC as an outline and obscure him with colors or white

-One piece- during the attacks, the background becomes much simpler, and the character is reduced to scribbles and is obscured by attack colors.

The studio keeps everything equally detailed. This spreads resources thin, resulting in simpler-looking attacks and weaker sound design during impactful scenes. By simplifying other aspects, this draws attention to a better quality main attack and saves effort.

Despite this, the anime is enjoyable and has strong potential. With better resource management, the studio could really elevate it. There’s no reason to bash it when many modern titles have similar quality (Mashle, SPY x FAMILY, Buddy Daddies).

-Overall: 6/10. would be 7, but skipped fights in the final episode, and the brother-sister dynamic hurt it. Would note that there's not much surprise or mystery to be revealed later, which removes rewatchability. But most modern titles don't actually have any either.

The Hero without class? Let me introduce you to the classless show. Straight-forward, no nonsense plot, getting the job done without the slightest bit of finesse or intricacy. Yeah! I’m here for It. This show is an adventure built for short binge sessions. I completed it in 4 sessions and I definitely recommend it to fantasy enthusiasts. It’s slightly nostalgic with it’s lack of regard for the modern sensibilities, which I couldn’t help but crack a smile. Oh and when I heard you heard some of the backing music they chose for the fights, I was overflowing with goosebumps. I thought I had something openin the background, it sounded straight out GBA/DS Era Pokemon games. As for the OP/ED they sound familiar but they’re a blast all the same. The soundtrack by Kent Asahina who also did "Notorious Talker" From last year as well as the recent LOTR "The War of the Rohirrim".

Action, brawling, scuffling of an assorted kind, yeah, we’ve got it. His weakness at the start sets up some very interesting and insightful fight choreography adding a sense of realism in skirmishes. As is the case in fantasy, the MC will get stronger. Does the fighting get stronger? We reach an impass. The combat in the second half is struggles to be as delightful. It’s all too quick, too easy and lacking meaningful in-fight mechanics and strategy. Yes, I know being powerful is the point of these shows, but it was a little disappointing. Explanation of the magic or power-system is always a challenge for this kind of show. I will say they passed the test, but they can’t be proud of this. They will give you an ongoing lesson about the power mechanics, the problem is you’re being taught a picture book. It’s great that it’s so easy to understand, but it blunted the potential that it seemed the author was capable of.

Blah Blah, “slop”, blah blah “animation bad”, blah blah “generic”, I’m sick of these common complaints….

But you’re here aren’t you, how are you here every season if you hate it so much?

It’s Studio A-CAT we know what we’re in for when it comes to the production values of this show, it does the job. Yes, There are some less appealing sequences and drawn areas that fall short of the wildly delusional expectation of the masses. Those road-bumps in the production seldom ruined the show or caused me to lose immersion. The standard set was mostly adhered to.

As for the story it’s keeps itself quite clean and admirably very mature most of the time. It takes care to pre-empt when when it’s switching to a comedic tone and honestly I laughed quite a lot, however there are a few times it takes you by surprise. They take good care of the characters we’re introduced to, giving them reasonable and ample time to grow. The ideals of from the hearts of the characters we’re exposed to initially are somewhat realized. The show makes good on its promises and is quite wise and tactful about the main characters I didn’t feel that any of the main cast were left hanging, they made good use of many small elements of the initial premise. I will say we were due more intersexual development here and whilst the sparks were there, they never truly lit the flame. You actually like the characters and for the most part the dialogue fits nicely.

The plot however, I understand the complaints. The people want a grander goal, stakes that shake them to the core but the show rejects their pleas and opts to go with the flow. It’s an uninspiring 3 phase plot, transitioning between them like a power-point slide, it’s utterly “classless”. It presents as a deceitful rib of meat and you’re just wishing you didn’t say no when they offered you the other piece, It’s mostly bone. Everyone’s kind of just chilling, stuff kind of just happens, then there’s some moments of magic and then we’re back to chilling. We’re lacking existential threats and because of that they’re reciting the industrial “jealousy-strife-manipulation’’ tales, to enable fights with big bad monsters. It’s played out, but I will admit it’s still enjoyable. There are techniques to do shows like this which don’t start with a world-ending crisis but the methods here left a lot to be desired.

A bird’s eye view of the character situation depicts a grand canyon divide between main and side characters. The main characters do everything in the show leaving mere scraps for the side characters. I will say, It does feel like the world is real but once the MC enters the scene, the boss music starts playing and anyone who isn’t part of the main gang becomes rather inanimate. It’s quite the loud dissonance and it somewhat relegates the experience from being truly good. This divide expands to the greater world, it’s rather myopic in the nature of the story telling. It’s practically a first person experience which is immersive but there’s a lot of the environment around the MC that just wasn’t explored. What we are exposed to is amply pleasant. After finishing it, recalling the chain of events, my brain generates a world that is mostly his home, his destination and the road to that destination. It feels like the moment he diverts from the path and attempts to enter the woods, he would meet an invisible wall, or peharps he would glitch off the map into the pitch-black unknown. To give them props, It’s a clean and inoffensive strategy to write the story but it rarely gets people invested into the piece. This is clearly a fantasy world but much of our fan-favourite fantastical elements were left on the bench this game.

Although many bask in mediocrity of the finale, in my opinion, whilst unsatisfying it isn’t so pronounced a flaw. At least it’s somewhat all tied up, which may spell disaster for a second instalment. I haven’t familiarized myself with the source yet, though I do hope for more.

Final Rankings

Animation 6 – Studio A-CAT average

Plot/Story 7 – Great Story, Dull plot

Sound 7 - Nostalgic and Inspired

Characters 7 – Main cast great, side leaving a lot to be desired.

Enjoyment 7 – It was a ball of fun.

34/50 – 6.8 – 7/10 Recommended to enthusiasts as last resort.

For less picky seasonal scrappers like myself, this is a good watch and for those more advanced of mind it’s completely inoffensive whilst staying fun.

Hope this helps.

"Generic slop" These kind of anime airs every season time to time , regardless of knowing people gonna consume it without any complain. Its more like a trend nowadays because of decrease in quality content. There isn't much to talk about show still stating some points . Decent story , characters, animation , ost etc . Horrible facial expressions of characters and mc is too much autistic. Even the studio knows it's a slop only made for 1 season so, they patched up ending in a rough way and tried to compress story as much as possible. The plus points that I really liked are name of skills anda proper explanation of power system in the world .I liked how there are separate institutions of magic and sword . Mc is a chad too he knows that how much he is capable of doing or not . Straight forward feelings of different characters is likeable too.

Overall my experience was good , i enjoyed.

Put someone in a brain MRI while they watch this anime. Then put them in the same MRI while they watch an ad for their local paint store for 23 minutes. Identical scans. This anime is devoid of imagination or interest. It's another tale of a god-potato with the standard eye-rolling lack of any weakness or flaw, but in this case that's coupled with a baffling lack of any likeability, or even any particular unlikeability. Anything at all, really. Rather than just the usual mostly-stoic protagonist, Arel is portrayed more as a completely emotionless psychopath — yet somehow still an immensely boring one. The show ended with "writecharacter" still on the staff's to-do list. This is despite having a variety of settings and timeframes to play in and explore his character more.

The other characters exist only to be amazed by him in different voices. Over and over.

The world, also, has no original ideas. Same tired old video game magic elements. Same tired old video game combat skills. It's like generative AI, minus any fun weirdness or surprise extra fingers.

The anime's central concept — well, its only concept — is that even people with an innate disadvantage, such as being classless, can still excel through hard work and determination. Great! Except that it gleefully dismantles its own sentiment and returns to 1920s eugenics to show that our almighty protagonist actually just has almighty parents.

Garbage. But, worse, boring garbage.

Just another in the long line of anime about an overpowered MC who is seen as weak for some clerical reason but is actually strong, and in fact, the strongest. Generally, I'm pretty mid about these kinds of shows, but this one missed the mark on two fronts, prompting the "not recommended": 1. The premise of the show is that the MC, Arel, is born without natural talents but instead works hard. Yet, except for the first episode, he never seems to work hard and relies on his undisclosed natural talent to learn any skill. It's weird, throughout the series, he says he is "skilless," buthe uses tons of skills. The show constantly contradicts itself to the point where it could be a drinking game.

2. The reason you watch the overpowered MC show is to get the thrill of the spectacle of watching his OP skills. None of Arel's skills were particularly interesting to watch, and they were often performed off-screen. A whole lot of telling and a lack of showing, which is needed in an overpowered hero story. It's like saying the aurora borealis is happening in your kitchen and then telling your guest they can't see it.

Warning - This is a comedy and borderline parody of "shonen" genre. It is basically entertaining fun bingeworthy trash. Story - 6/10 It is a run of the mill story is about a world where class is considered as destiny and people don't try to defy it. As the title suggest, the MC is found classless and normally would have surrendered and given up on life. But this MC decides to fight fate. Characters - 10/10 The MC is calm, clever, not a gloater, not overconfident, not underconfident, not awkward or shy around girls, does not call himself lucky, knows his limits and his powers, learns new stuff and adapts tonew situations. He maintains a deadpan face.

The other characters compliment it with their expressions and amazement. His family and friends make it endearing and fun.

Animation - 8/10

A low budget anime with great fight scenes and overall animation is a wonder in a world of high budget flop animations.

Overall - If you are looking for a fun no brainer comedy fantasy trash, this is the best you will get in this season.
