To the people who, wondering if they should watch it or not. This anime is probably one of the greatest anime out there, that is probably least spoken about. I have never seen anime that great, that didn't get a spotlight on it. I can easily say, this anime dominated Winter 2024 season and it's not even close to compare them to any of those TOP ranked anime's this season. I have watched hundreds of anime and can easily say Kingdom is one of my favourite anime of all time. I have seen people talking about Anime was bad adaptation of manga, but at thesame time look at how Naruto started, One Piece and all of those great anime all started poorly in terms of visuals. Fun thing, is that it's only half of season 1 that was bad in visuals, but it had amazing story. Season two has already improved visuals and as always amazing story and great character development. After season 2, visuals in season 3, 4 and 5 are on point.

To conclude:

Highly recommend watching this anime and you won't be disappointed. Force yourself watching it through season 1 and eventually you will feel in love with this anime. It has amazing story, character development and I can guarantee it worth watching it. I don't think there is any War anime that can be comparable to Kingdom. I watch all of them and can easily say this is one of the greatest anime and most underrated anime of all time.

This anime is probably as real as it get's, when it comes to actual history. Use of different war tactics, diplomacy, strategies, different land marks, equipment makes it even more real and accurate, when it comes the story.

This arc isn't long but man it is brutal and shows how much of a savage Huan Yi really is, Fei Xin Force really was sent to the most dangerous frontline, and is in quite challenging confrontation with Zhao forces. Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto are working on the soundtrack here, OP and ED are really good, and art style really progressed over the years. Kingdom is in my top 3 anime list and if you survive first season poor animation and focus on story and characters you are here for a treat. Each season is a constant progress of animation, lorebuilding, characters development. Eachcharacter is important and have his goals and principles, leading to deeper worldbuilding. 5th season is direct continiuation of that progression and I definitely see it will stay on that path forward into the next seasons.

Overview The long-awaited 5th season of kingdom. This spectacular story goes through such a strategic war time era where it’s cleverly thought out and done so well. I love the strategy ideas they go through to beat and crush their enemies. They haven’t run out of ideas and aren’t at all the same repetitiveness of attacking and defensiveness. They have different places, different styles and different characters. I am super excited and not even disappointed at all at how amazing this 5th season is turning out. Story 10/10 I think from season 3 and 4 all the way into 5th seasons the story has gone up somuch more and they are doing a really good job making sense of the entire series and they keep the ideas within the story together as a whole. I absolutely love how they introduced new characters in the story, it just added so much more. I can’t begin to explain how epic the story is without spoiling it’s just good.

Art style 10/10

I am starting to really like the art style of the animation and how fluent the expressions on these new characters are. They show how impactful these scenes can really be. The art style in seasons 1 and 2 were bad but season 3 to 5 they really increased and upgraded so much since then.

Sounds 7/10

I was expecting an epic opening song for this amazing season 5, to describe how amazing and maybe feel immersed in the atmosphere that this story and characters are told. I think the opening song is good even if it wasn’t as what I was expecting. The atmosphere in the anime created is just as good.

Character 10/10

The characters from the 4th season feel a lot more upgraded in season 5. I like the fact that we are introduced to new ones, they are good. I love the gross, eeriness and overall scariness some of the characters have its so funny at times.

Enjoyment 10/10

This is truly a masterpiece, art style, animation, sounds, atmosphere, concepts. I am really enjoying the 5th season and I hope to see more, and I am glad to be back in the story of kingdom again.

A masterpiece in the most literal way. It deserves 10x more attention than it receives, and for some reason I don't understand why it's not hyped more. This is a review for overall all of Kingdom up to S5. S1 has that nasty cgi that can put you off, but that is for half of the season only, and then it gets much better. Story is already fantastic, S2 has a lot less of the cgi and the story gets better and better. S3 might be one of the best season in anime that I have watched, it is simply astonishing in magnitude, character development, itplays with your feelings and keeps you on the edge. One of the best arcs in anime that I have ever seen.

S4 and S5 are also packed with drama and fights, and maybe not as good as 3, but they are amazing in their own, everything develops, characters grow. S4 has a fantastic duel of words between Ryo Shi and Ei Sei where the king has such a winning speech that brought tears to my eyes, it moved me deeply. I never imagined that a duel of words could be so good.

I've made this review long it seems, but if you ever have a chance to watch Kingdom, go for it, it deserves so much more love and hype. I watched 140 episodes in a week off, and I can't wait for more honestly.

Having watched hundreds of anime, especially Shonen anime, honestly I didn't expect any series to make me binge watch it, however Kingdom took me by surprise, this season especially made me extremely emotional, In war death always wins.....the backstory of the opponents whom Shin and Kanki's army face in this season is so good, personally it made me root for them, every character has their own intentions for fighting and it makes you wonder who is good and who is evil in the end? Apart from the story, Shin's character development across the entire series is rewarding to watch, Shin is a way more complex characterthan most Shonen protagonists. Kyou kai, Ka Ryo Ten, Bi Hei, En san....all the other supporting characters go through their own growth/development in this season which is extremely satisfying to watch to say the least.

Battles are my favorite part of this series, even though its the one to one battles between the generals that decide most of the outcomes during wars, but wars in Kingdom feel more like a game of chess, especially Kanki's thoughts and strategies are unique, this season makes you understand why Kanki is comparable with Chin's 6 great generals.

Long story short, I can't believe I haven't heard of Kingdom for long, I can confidently say this series as a whole is a masterpiece which will stay rent free in my head for years and I can't recommend it enough, just watch it, you will be thankful that you did!

Highly underated anime. I followed if from first season and it get's better with every season. This story really stick with me, and not to mention that characters are one of my fave ever. New generals are quite interesting figures, and this is the first time that I was rooting for the other side. Love this season so far . Animation is getting better and better, which somehow makes fights so interesting. It is very unique take on war anime, also unique and fun and dangerous at the same time. I really don't get why is this anime not getting on popularity.

This season has taken a big difference in warfare for it is positioned in a very dense forest. This part takes place from the usual flatland warfare style and takes its weapons onto the forest, which a certain army in this season will definitely excel. This is also where Shin can stack up reputation with the army he's supporting right now and really show off what he's made for. Character development will take place here and the Fei Xin Force will undergo a transformation, deepening their bonds and Shin's comrades which we all know and love. It hasn't lost its fever and its hype metershas never gone down.

Kingdom 5th Season, the saga marches onward, beckoning loyal viewers to tread the path laid forth by its predecessors. Now, if you've journeyed through the annals of the last four seasons, rest assured, this one beckons your presence once more. As for visual fidelity, well, let's just say it mirrors the familiar aesthetic of its forebears, offering little deviation in its visual tapestry. But fear not, for it's the heart of the tale that truly captivates. Picture this: the plot thrusts us headlong into the chaos of battle, a battlefield alive with the thunderous clash of steel and the fervent cries of warriors. Our valiant hero, stalwartand resolute, charges forth into the fray, a beacon of hope amidst the swirling tempest of war.

In these initial skirmishes, echoes of familiarity resonate—a testament to the series' unwavering commitment to its tried-and-true formula. Our hero stumbles, falters, yet emerges victorious, a testament to his indomitable spirit and unwavering resolve.

Yet, amidst the clamor of combat, there lies a glimmer of promise. The introduction of new generals, each a tapestry woven with intricacies of strategy and character, adds depth to the unfolding narrative. Ah, war tactics, a symphony of intellect and courage, a realm where Kingdom shines brightest.

But what of our hopes and aspirations, you ask? We yearn for more than mere battles won and lost. Nay, we crave the nuances of character development, the tender bonds of camaraderie, and the crescendo of epic clashes yet to unfold.

In summation, Kingdom beckons with open arms, a bastion of unyielding valor and unrelenting strife. Venture forth, dear viewer, for within its storied halls lie tales of courage, ambition, and the relentless pursuit of glory. And if perchance you've yet to embark on this odyssey, fear not, for the journey begins anew with Season 1—a testament to storytelling's enduring legacy, despite the trials of time.

Kingdom 5th season will get you hyped every time. It's all about fighting, strategy, politics, and ideals. There are so many tense and crazy moments, it will get you onto the edge of your seat if you are invested. This season highlighted a huge fight with the Qin army with the commander being a previous warlord. As you can imagine, almost two thousand years ago, there were a lot of atrocities everyday, let along during a war, and with an army full of former bandits. There will be moments it is over the top. As with any war, it is just a huge chess matchwith the army as its pieces. But the warlord goes beyond combat strategies and has more insight into human nature.

Follow the idealistic MC during a war torn period of Chinese history as a soldier who gradually rises the ranks. The MC is idiotic but has two intelligent partners, one a strategist and another a vice captain who are in love with him. He has a personal friendship with the king who is trying to unite China and the MC's personal goal is to become the greatest general and a sword for the king to achieve his goal. It is a very well done story and this season in particularly good.

After struggling with some animation issues in the first 2, maybe 3 seasons Kingdom has become truly one of the anime greats. The ancient Chinese battlefields this anime explores are not just full of awesome animated fights, but also tactical descriptions as well as heartfelt moments, especially during the Koku You arc. Shin has bulked up, Kyou Kai is leading her own unit as part of the Hi Shin squad and Ka Ryo Ten is starting to rival Shou Hei Kun's tactical genius. All in all, the 5th season makes the main plot of Kingdom, the unification of the Middle Kingdom, start off with abang. No boring episodes, no drop-off in quality, just Shin's and Ei Sei's ambitions starting to take physical shape. If you've watched until Season 4, then you'll certainly love what Season 5 has in store for you.

Firstly, as an opening, I would recommend this anime if you have followed the previous seasons. But if you expect an epic war full of deception, I say no. In fact, it feels like a storyteller could summarize the contents of season 1 in 3 hours and you wouldn't miss the point of the story. This fifth season was a slap in the face for me. 1. This season shows that the kingdom Xin is in is not a holy kingdom without sin. And this season hit me with the bitter reality, that I am a civilian. 2. This fifth season shows how insignificant Xin is, he is amirror figure that shows every supporting actor around him. Each of his achievements makes us remember another character.

In the first season I really didn't like Wang Yi (Ou Ki) he was the general I hated the most, he looked like a general who didn't care about the troops. However, the backstory and intimacy of the story with him made me really admire him. Even when his death made me very sad, this hit me because I wondered why people used to cry when their favorite character died. I felt like it was a weirdo, but Wang Yi's death enrolled me into that group of weirdos.

When Xin managed to defeat Pang Nuan (Hou Ken), this reminded me again of Wang Yi. And this is a solace for my sadness, this is like sweet revenge.

In the third season when the final wall was attacked, I felt dislike for the Qin generals because they were very cynical towards Huan Yi (Kan Ki). They couldn't put in more effort, but really didn't like Huan Yi because he was a former bandit. At the same time I felt moved by the presence of the Qin emperor (Ei Sei) on the battlefield.

But in the fifth season I was slapped again. Huan Yi is not a respectable person. I believe in my heart that civilian casualties in times of war are inevitable. But seeing Huan Yi's behavior towards civilians made me angry. I realized that as a civilian I don't like war. Even though in my heart I felt that war was an option for resolution, in the fifth season of Kingdom I really realized that I hated war.
