Reviews for Vermeil in Gold

Like many of the degenerates reading this review, I saw an Ecchi tag slapped onto the poster of a demon succubus lady and went straight in for the fun times. While I won’t lie to you and pretend this show is not filled with pointless fan service, let’s be real with ourselves, the fan service is the only thing stopping this show from getting dropped by every anime enjoyer. And although I didn’t feel the need to wipe my memory after finishing the season, let’s dive into how incredibly lazy writing makes this show completely forgettable. VERMEIL AND ALTO - Even while ignoring the creepy agegap, there’s still a lot wrong with these 2 characters.

It’s pretty clear that the meat on the bones of the show come from our 2 main characters, Vermeil the Demon and Alto Goldfield the Human. Vermeil begins this show with one purpose only, to provide lots of hot fan service for the average teenage boy. I’ve seen a lot of people describe her in different ways… some of them didn’t even bother with words as the tent pitched in their pants said enough. I don’t care much for reviewing Ecchi quality, so I’ll summarize her as a “big titty Ara Ara Onee-san” who pushes the show dangerously close to hentai territory. But the cool thing about Vermeil is that she does get some respectable character development in later episodes! A far cry from top-tier waifus like Rem, Zero-Two, Megumin, and others, but enough to keep me mildly interested.

Alto, on the other hand, wins the award for being the blandest MC this season. Love them or hate them, every other MC of Summer 2022 has at least some distinguishing traits that make them stick out. However, Alto Goldfield is the perfect example of the strong-willed young hero cliche. He always sticks to his principles, which conveniently, never really get challenged. His motivation to face obstacles consists entirely of wanting to be the best at magic (for god knows what reason). And, of course, his lack of self-confidence makes him completely oblivious to people’s feelings toward him. If that sentence didn’t give it away… yes, he has a childhood friend romantically interested in him and he has no fucking clue.

Having a boring protagonist is not always a problem, especially for Ecchi shows. But if you’re gonna make the main focus of the show be the relationship between the main characters, have some more complicated dynamics besides makeout scenes and steamy “mana sharing” that land Vermeil on the FBI watchlist.

THE WORLD OF MAGIC - Hey, author? You know you’re supposed to fill in the writing template… right?

Something that always bothers me in Fantasy shows is when the magic is never properly explained. I’m not asking for a 30-minute PowerPoint presentation, a 10-page essay, or 3 characters who provide narration over every fight. All I want is some fucking inkling of how magic in this world works. Because when I don’t understand how things work, I don’t understand just how hard it is for characters to make things work. If some elaborate fight scene against an OP villain happens, how am I supposed to know this person is OP besides “haha, funny colors go brrrrrrr”. If Alto and Vermeil pull off some revolutionary shit, its impact is never felt since the only indication I have are random background characters going “wow, that’s so cool” then never mentioning the event again.

Don’t even get me started on how little effort the show puts into the world itself. Its tier list of magic is basically ripped from “Mairimashita! Iruma-kun”, the other school and societies of magic are worthless to the story, and I’m under the strong impression that the Student Council has more power than some governments. Overall, the world our characters live in is so filled with holes that ignoring it is the better option than trying to understand it.

VILLAINS - It’s crazy how this show went 0/3 with its antagonists.

“Vermeil in Gold” has some terrible villains, and once again its lazy writing is to blame. Without spoiling anything, here is a quick summary of each antagonist Vermeil and Alto have directly taken on. Villain 1 has an inflated ego that doesn’t match their skill, resulting in them getting humbled pretty quickly. Villain 2 is supposed to be a surprise twist, but there are so many obvious signs that I was hoping it would be a “you thought they were a villain but they weren’t” moment. Sadly, I was disappointed. Villain 3 is the worst of the lot, with absolutely no reason for doing what they do besides being inexplicably mentally unstable and finding bad things fun.

FINAL VERDICT - Unless you came just for Ecchi, “Vermeil in Gold” won’t satisfy any of your anime cravings.

I would recommend trying out “Mairimashita! Iruma-kun” if you want a good show about a boy attending magic school, or watching “Muma no Machi Cornelica” if mommy succubus dominates little boy is the kick you get from “Vermeil in Gold”.

If you're here for anything other than fanservice, you'll be incredibly disappointed. Also, the fanservice is PG-13, so even if you're here for that, you'll still be somewhat disappointed. Story: Not good. It's not super surprising for an ecchi to have a mediocre story, but nearly the entire storyline feels like they stole the story arcs from filler episodes of much better shows. It's a magic story where the author completely forgot to explain how magic works, thus every major event and fight feel completely meaningless. MC wants to be the best, like no one ever was, but no one can tell exactly what beingthe best means. There's a ranking system, which is never truly explained, yet even the highest ranks are meaningless against plot armor, so they feel completely pointless.

Finally, there are plot holes larger than the size of our universe, even in the first episode. In the first episode, MC is shown to be unable to summon a familiar, then summons a demon girl only he has the perfect mana to summon. Due to being an ecchi, she appears completely naked, and immediately tries to fuck MC. MC, of course, denies her and hands her the only female clothes he has on hand, a fucking *virgin killer sweater* that he just had and perfectly fits the demon girl. After this, the two go to his class and MC shows that he succeeded in summoning, though uses magic to make the demon girl look human. The professor is completely unable to detect magic, and is not at all suspicious how a student that couldn't summon anything just became the first person in history to summon a human. There's many more plot holes, but the first episode is so painfully riddled with them that I just had to note it.

Art: The entirety of the art budget went towards the fanservice scenes. There are way too many fights in this anime, and all of them look awful. The fanservice looks decent, but not great, and the PG-13 rating means you'll never get anything too lewd.

Characters: Generic pussy MC is a generic MC, that due to the laws of ecchi is beloved by every girl in the school, including a generic childhood friend character than confesses episode 1 and he rejects. Also he jumps around from being worthlessly weak to easily defeating people multiple tiers stronger than him due to plot armor.

The previously stated demon girl also keeps wearing the plot convenient virgin killer sweater in almost every scene that she's not naked in (which of course there are an absurd amount of). She's also unbelievably strong, famous for nuking a city when she was a little child. Despite this being hundreds of years ago, due to the fact that magic research doesn't exist in this world, she's still the strongest being on the planet. Between her being overpowered and MC having plot armor, there's not a single fight that truly feels like it has stakes.

There are also way, way too many side characters, and none of them are very interesting.

But is it enjoyable? Not really.

Even with all those issues, it still probably could have been just one of those shows you can turn your brain off and enjoy both the fighting and fanservice scenes. However, there is too much of a focus on the unnecessarily large cast of side characters, and those scenes are so boring that turning your brain off and just looking at them without thinking about what's happening isn't enough to make them watchable.

And finally, and the issue that really turned me away, is the fact that the villains are so terribly written. Every single villain is edgy for the sake of being edgy, kills children for the fun of it, and is inexplicably attracted to one of the two main characters. None of them feel like actual characters rather than just the author deciding "we need a villain fight here so let's just add one". The "twists" that reveal characters to be villains were poorly written to the point that they genuinely couldn't have been more obvious if the author tried.

Overall, it's not very good, and the jumps between a slice-of-life ecchi to children being murdered because the author couldn't think of any other way to show that the villains were evil really didn't help.

6/10 Tropes + fanservice + decent animation are the only first thoughts that come to mind while thinking of this anime. Episode 1-3:- Fanservice and character introduction, FMC remains a mystery Episode 2-6:- More fanservice, side characters introduced and we find out MC is "Special" while he steamrolls the existing power system. we also have a Villian working in the shadows, Then he gets rekt and after this, we find out there is bigger fish than him. Episode 3-10:- ofc fanservice Antagonist working in the shadow (Again) then MC resolves to “Become stronger to protect my loved ones” oh god the cringe xD Episode 11-12:- Reveals and a final showdownthat strengthens the bond of the characters

I mean it's so formula based that, I can sum it up like this easily xD. Oh, and fanservice.

Now, this may actually sound like an adept story, But there is a catch……

There is nothing about this anime that is unique, but what it does is stick to the formula and just execute it, it's like you read the best essay online word to word and write it in your exam and get a 10/10. Hence As far as entertainment value goes, anyone who hasn't seen many magic school animes or power fantasies, or ecchi animes will probably enjoy this anime very much, the fans who are well versed enough with most of these will be bored out of their minds due the sheer formulaic nature of the series.

Vermeil is an anime with a cheeky pink-haired lewd childhood friend who is heavily tsundere, A Shota good boi who the ladies want to “Pet” rather than seduce, A big boba Onee san Esque character that constantly tests his uh “Restraint”? A goofy sidekick that makes even this loser of an MC look like Kirito-Kun and the filler character maid who is being saved for plot points and extra waifu later on (I mean we have seen wilder shit happen). I have seen THIS SAME CAST AT LEAST IN 30% OF ALL MAGIC SCHOLL ANIMES.

Well coming to the review, the review is, strictly speaking, assuming that you are more trope forgiving, remaining Bias free after having watched 400+ series is a hard thing to do so please remember, some of these may just be PERSONAL opinions but I have TRIED to be bias-free.

Plot (6/10)

It is not ultra compelling but is a story of regret and mystery, it delivers a cohesive story divided into well-defined phases, and the magic system is standard (immediately relatable to similar shows). The main plot is revealed one bit at a time, most of the fanservice however is of convenience (Having to kiss to get MANA?? XD) or worse, just creepy (the pink hair gives me the chills). The main reveal of FMC's past is actually good and delivers nicely but, it comes a bit too late in episode 11 to be precise. Most of the plot is formulaic and structured based on precious successful shows of a similar kind but it is unique enough to stand out, just a little bit.

Characters (5/10)

The characters are boring, sometimes alright but mostly insufferably cringe, The MC is a bit of a Goody two shoes but is seen making exceptions and the right choices at times, the FMC is the main highlight, Vermeil changes as the mystery unravels since she was running from the past rather than face it, the changes are handled nicely and it does make for a slightly compelling character drama the antagonists are mostly crazy fucks hence just remembered as the same or just forgotten quite quickly. The rest of the characters mostly serve as comic relief or fan service enhancers(especially pink hair).

Art and animation (7/10)

For a low-budget production it's done quite well, the art is nice and provides a good setting for the mysterious magical vibe, the animation during fights is inconsistent, some scenes get more love than others, but the ecchi scenes have consistent animation, unlike the fights. The ED art is quite nice and the only standout thing about this series in general.

Sound and VA (8/10)

I expected a different cast for vermeil since the VA even after trying hard is unable to capture the onee san type of tone, she does quite well for what it's worth but the initial allure of this series was definitely the big boba, ara-ara oneesan but that didn't happen. The other VAs do quite well, especially the pink-haired Tsundere that does an outstanding job during her more uh…. Deranged moments? The ost is reused and repetitive but it is not too bad in general. The OP and ED are really well done and hence the most points this series gets are here.

With how packed and hyped next season seems to be this is gonna be a tough sell, the suggestion would be watching the first two episodes and deciding whether to binge or not, since if watched alongside the power hitters of next season, this series would be an instant drop.

Story : About the boy who like to be Diamond badge student/mage, yeaaaaaa, generic, everyone have familiar, NO FAMILIAR?, then he get familiar which turn out to be demon, did demon steal his life? No, did demon steal something from him? No, she is good demon, thats right everyone demon is good demon, wow amazing yeaaaaaa, overall its fantasy, ecchi tag only, Dont expect anything, plot no existent here Art : Well they draw every each fanservice scene is very good and battle scene looks satisfy even thought they are just throw random subject toward enemy which kinda awkward Character : Alto, Generic chaste and naive mcwho proud that everything he does is right thing even its totally wrong. Vermeil, adult woman who like shota. Red hair girl who i dont even bother to remember her, the only character there that make everything even more annoying, i still dont even know why she is even there, she help Alto? no, she does something to Alto? No. So whats she doing there? to make excuse that Vermeil wont win? she doesnt even have impact to story

Okay sit down you lot, this is a good anime. Currently there are 3 episodes as of writing and my view will very highly likely change and I will update when that happens. The story is generic. A boy who is smart but bad at one thing, in this case summoning a familiar. Long story short, he got himself a familiar who's a powerful, sexy, voluptuous Onee-san demon. Being a demon, she's very powerful. Unbeknownst to himself, the boy possesses a very strong magic, hence why no familiars heed his call. How original. The characters are... shallow. This is an ecchi anime, we don't needdeep, rich, thought provoking characters with mind-boggling motives and goals.

Generic as it may, it's not bad. In fact, it feels so generic that you can just not pay too much attention to the story and instead focus on the best part of what this series has to offer: the art. Surprisingly, this anime is very well animated. Choppy frames every now and then, but no cgi animation so far. There's just something about the art style that just pulls you in. Sound is nothing too out of the ordinary, so expect nothing and you will not be disappointed.

Overall, this show feels "okay" at the moment, but in a good way, like "okay, that is good". I highly recommend you to check this one out. Thank you for reading.

Kinsou no Vermeil appears to be a typical magic academy school anime where the MC wants to be the strongest mage. The only twist is that his familiar is a demon girl. Besides that there is the childhood female friend who likes him and the cliche scenes. Like battling a bully who thinks the MC is weak but turns out to be strong. All very overused troupes and scenes. I will say the art is quite nice and the animation is nice to look at. No cgi so far and no real poorly done scenes that distracts you from the story. The character design for hisfamiliar is unique and nice. I like her personality. The childhood friend is nothing special in personality or appearance to many other animes with a childhood friend. I am inidifferent from them, but find the tsundere girls a little bland after so many of them exist.

My main gripe is with the MC's personality. The innocent boy who lets his emotions control him. I just cannot relate to them especially when they seem so nice that they seem fake like no person in the world is that nice. So, I really do not like that aspect of the main character. I much prefer a logical and confident MC (with hints of shy/embarassing moments are fine) like Ainz from Overlord or funny and whatever you want to do like Luiffy from One piece.

Personally, I would watch it as a good anime for the season, but not one that stands out. Check it out if you run out of animes for these magic school genres and don't mind those types of MC. For the most part, it's a fair show that I can see some people giving 7s or 5s or 4s if they don't like these over-saturated types of animes! :D

From the very first episode of Vermeil, I was hooked. A magical academy setting, a mommy dom waifu and a Mili ED? Can’t ask for much more out of the fantasy genre. While it may not be innovative, it’s a very fun dark fantasy show that I had a blast watching every Tuesday and I hope we’ll see more of it some day. While waifus are a big part of the show, what I liked most was the mystery and world building. This is a surprisingly well-written series that keeps you coming back for answers to cliffhangers or teases. I particularly enjoyed the gradual build upto and reveal of Vermeil’s backstory as well as the student council’s politics behind the scenes. Alto, the MC, started out as really annoying and bland to me. I hate MCs that act like they’re afraid of women and get nosebleeds, etc. etc, but I really did grow to like him as the season went on. He truly shows believable progression that you want to see from your MC and by the end of it I was proud of how far he’d come.

Fan-service is on point in this one, the staff definitely know what we’re here for and they kept us fed with plenty of it. The animation isn’t the best for most of the season, but there were some decent fight scenes in the last couple episodes that it seems like the budget was saved up for. The OST also was a perfect compliment to the dark atmosphere of the show. While the show starts out light hearted, you quickly find out there’s some sinister things at play behind the scenes and the soundtrack really helped with that immersion.

Not much room for flowery language in this one. Vermeil was a really good show to me, in my top 5 of the season easily. I loved the characters, the story and the world-building. I realise it’s definitely a hit or miss one, though. If you aren’t a fan of the whole mommy-dom trope, you probably won’t like this one. If you’re looking for some really well constructed and elaborate plot, you won’t like this one. If you want a fun show with surprisingly decent character development and narrative intrigue, this is for you.

My personal enjoyment of the story is easily a 9 or 10, but because I feel like the story is only really getting started, I can’t give it that highest grade yet.

I've seen many people who appear to dislike this anime, while I myself however, find it very interesting. Vermeil in Gold is about a boy (Alto) who isn't able to summon a familiar, and while in the library, happens to find a book about magic which allows him to summon a familiar. However, after he's finished with the summoning, to his shock a demon female Vermeil is summoned by him. Get ready for a short review. Characters 10/10: While the personalities aren't very original, (Lilia, classic childhood friend in love, Chris, bully who turns nice) I really love how each character is portrayed within Vermeil inGold. Lilia does have a couple flaws however, and can come off a little annoying sometimes along with Vermeil and Chris. Still, the characters have excellent designs and personalities.

Artwork 8/10: The art is good, however could be a bit better. The designs of the characters are truly however amazing, (such as Lilia, Chris, Marx, Alto, Vermeil..many more.

Story 10/10: The plot is also pretty good honestly, even the long fighting scenes are something enjoyable to watch in a way.

Overall, Unless you dislike Nudity, (which is shown a lot within this anime if you didn’t know) I think you might like Vermeil in Gold a lot.

Looking for a good ecchi fantasy series? Then maybe look somewhere else, because there are plenty of good shows out there that do better with both without being just so horribly dull as this show. The art and voice talent aren't bad it's just that the story so far is just so horribly stupid and boring. The MC is a whiny pushover who is both the strongest/smartest in his class but still the underdog because of the one class he was failing. The titular heroine passes herself off as a human and not a single person at the school questions how she's able tosupply the MC with super magic or tank massive magical fireballs. The tsundere friend is a tsundere friend, she exists to be tsunbdere and be the MC's friend.

The stupidest thing I can't get out of my head though is the virgin killer sweater the demon wears. You'd think that she's some sort of sultry succubus or something right and she made the outfit with her magic or something? No. That would make sense. Instead the MC ACCIDENTALLY packed his sisters outfit in with his belongings when he went to school (and I guess a pair of her shoes as well?) and he tells her to put it on so she'd have something to wear. You'd think it would be easy enough after that point to get her a new outfit right? It would just make sense for the schools faculty to give her some clothes or even a school uniform to wear so they didn't have a grown ass woman walking around dressed like that in their school? Nope, because the ecchi demands she be wearing a virgin killer all the time so she just does.

For now this anime is the best anime that I have seen this s summer. L'LL see if my opinion changes but personally I don't think it's going to change. I thing all of the main characters have amazing personalities especially the demon girl. I thing the animation is amazing in this anime especially the fighting scenes, and the ending is a banger on the 3 episode ,and it was one of the greatest cliff hanger I have ever seen and I can't wait for the next episode l'm pretty hyped for this anime the art is amazing the story line is amazing every single thing in thisanime is amazing and am loving every single sec in it,over all i give every single thing in this anime a 10/10

Kinsou no Vermeil a.k.a Vermeil in Gold's the spiritual sequel to Zero no Tsukaima...and truthfully, I would rather just re-watch the former series all over again than hobble over this decent-to-good show, because it's playing with my feelings like a boobs see-saw as the fulcrum. I have a very heavy bias for (Rest In Peace) Noboru Yamaguchi's Zero no Tsukaima a.k.a The Familiar of Zero. Heck, this was the very first anime I've ever watched back in my teenage years of adolescence, and still to this day it's immense classic nostalgia even after a decade and years to come. The reason why I say this isbecause mangaka Kouta Amana's work is just an exact copy of it, save for the gender swap where the male becomes the master, and the female becomes the familiar that's summoned from wherever the magic foretolds creatures to come forth and make a contract between master and familiar. And truth be told, this is just the overarching story that's just copied and pasted from the similar source, from being an undulated harem magnet to fighting evil with good's magic powers, and this concept while groundbreaking at the time (before it was even called Isekai) certainly got stale as time passes, and such stories like these are considered bland now with no room to spare for originality. Honestly, I don't know how the dude got his influence, but there is an inference point, and sad to say that it's kinda a generic, shallow one.

The most important focal point is the interactions between the master and the familiar, and I would say that between the genius student Alto Goldfield, whose constant A stars earn the admiration of the entire Ortigia Academy of Magic, and his familiar of a voluptuous boobie succubus female demon named Vermeil that's sealed in a grimoire for 200 years, the fateful moment of rapture with her release certainly brings colour to Alto's life, both externally and sexually with the innuendos. Alto has a harem, and that only exists in the form of his childhood friend Lilia Kudelfeyt, who tries her best to designate herself as his "lover" by surrounding Alto and scaring the other girls off, including Vermeil. Truth to be honest, Zero no Tsukaima does the formula much better by being in the same ecchi, fantasy realm of interest and entertainment, though I'd reckon that this show also done the same tried-and-true, only to end up having a mixed result. Of course, Alto himself is a wimp who does what he does best: being a pushover to the point of edge where he's just like a fanservice character awaiting to expose either Vermeil or Lilia's ecchi moments. But when it comes to the guidance of magic, he becomes a different being altogether, being able to channel all that mana that's thanks to Vermeil's demonic powers that hasn't been seen since the calamity days. And this is not without merit, for Alto turns from the annoying to the selfless character, understanding that he is fighting on Vermeil's side and also loving her like just how a master would to its servant. So, there is both good and bad sides to the MC. And while the motive is just stereotypical for the time given the formula, it's almost insulting now that there's no depth to it. Everybody else seems stereotypical for its premise, even the villains, so it being based on a tried-and-true formula that's actually well-paced to the manga's first 4 volumes, likewise, there's good and bad when you can see it.

For a first try at the scale of TV anime production, Staple Entertainment did surprisingly well, and I would say that the decent effort actually rivals many other low-budget studios and pitting against quality that it puts thse low-tier studios to shame, that's speaking volumes for a predominantly Hentai studio for a start. There's actual work being put through its paces, and even if the production staff team are a bunch of no-names, they actually captured the essence of the manga and adapted it to the T, which is great to see. Even when there's sakuga being planted in the action, it doesn't waver, and as I've said before, for a very new studio with only a single Hentai work to its name, the hope that more people will be aware of this studio source exists to request to do more contractual work on anime, please. It's better than what we bargained for in its genericness.

Song-wise, this is one of Kaori Ishihara's better efforts, given that she's helming 2 songs this season: this show and Isekai Yakkyoku. Both songs are decent as per her quality of average-to-decent songwriting, and I would take it or leave it. The surprise however is Mili's ED, which comes in a foreboding tone of solemn and relapse of anchoring the torments of Vermeil's life from young till her current days. But I still think that the OST is so-so, so let's just leave it at that.

I would say, if you desire the days of Zero no Tsukaima, but don't want to tread through the seasons from start to finish nor want to actually watch it in the first place, this is a somewhat decent alternative that unfortunately doesn't stand out for more than just a guilty pleasure that can make you feel deep at times. It's as if it's trying to bring back a trend that was once popular that with the invigoration of the Isekai genre (that killed this trend) that made it fall. This ain't so much a rarity nowadays, but clustered into the fantasy genre that no longer goes well with the times. It's an acquired taste, I would pretty much summarize it that way.

People say that vermeil is a demon she should be bad...I will say that person is a demon who is saying this. because in the anime we know that why vermeil was a demon in the first place and how though it was for her, so don't try to make sense out of a anime because it's a anime it's just for fun and for us to enjoy it's not real life...what can i say too many immature kids are watching anime A good echii, harem anime with a amazing story and plot what more do i need from this anime Really like the female protagonist vermeilshe is really pretty

I'm surprised at the low reviews for this anime actually. Though I do notice that ALMOST all of the negative reviews are based at the episode 3 mark, when if you were here for plot, it hasn't really happened yet, and if you were here for hyper-explicit-fan-service you've been disappointed by the "tasteful fan service". So I'm guessing those here to get their rocks off are annoyed. The other negative stuff all seems to be at the episode 6 mark where they are disappointed by an instinctive move on the part of a character. Because in their mind someone who can study and getgood marks never moved without thinking everything through for 5 minutes in their life. (TLDR: Some reviewers are idiots).

It looks on the surface like low-rent ecchi anime that's just there for the fan service, and the first episode doesn't really dissuade you from that at all.

And yeah, I'm not going to lie, there is a fair amount of fan-service shots in there, all with tasteful covering etc, but it's there.

That aside there is actually a decent story and character development here, and good setup for future works (I'm assuming that's the "go read the manga" or "hang out for season 2" hooks.) There are more then a few cliches yes, but cliches are cliché for a reason. And I dare you to find an anime made that we can't point to "something" that's gone before and just say "he it's that cliché". Just pigeon holing shows as "that trope" is a disservice to the watchers, and creators. Folks need to be more original than that.

Is this show for everyone? Nope. But if you watch it through to the end (I did it all in one sitting, so may have noticed more development than folks who watched it week to week.) I think you'll find it an entertaining show, with reasonable pacing, entertaining side characters, and rather good character development.

My only real gripe was one of the side characters went from unlikeable to defensible a bit to fast.

Your milage may vary but if you are not a prude, not a total lech, and looking for something entertaining to watch, i recommend this show. However one warning. If you are looking for light-hearted anime that avoids going to some dark places and trauma, avoid this, it doesn't pull punches on some of it's character backstories.

i came here for spicy titty demon but i walked away with a tender loving relationship and a heartboner the size of said tits. the characters are fine, and they are also Vermeil. the art style is alright, it's what you'd expect from alot of animes, decent enough. story is alright, wraps itself up in the 12 episodes it gets. i'm expecting a season 2, but i'd be content with it having a single season and just reading the manga for further story. alto is a chad who accidentally found a babe and now he cherishes her i like vermeil, she's a cute demon who did some badthings and wants to come to terms with them. and alto the chad helps her get over those things.

Well this was an amazing anime! Apart from all those lewed stuff the anime, the story was marvelous! Though I really wanted to know more about AIto well now we know what was Vermeil's past.... Well I had a theory that AIto might have a past of his own meaning his parents reason at the beginning Vermeil told that his mana is dense but she amplified at first she acted as a catalyst and finally he managedto obtain Golden Mana well of course it's all thanks to Vermeil but it's his power that was amplified! Guess we will know this in the next season! Farther more in that battle where he fought Iolite he overheated himself even Vermeil was shocked to know that it's his mana...!

Now this is of course a speculation but got to say the story was beautiful! A tragic past a great story no plot twist that's ok but most of all power of love I would call it, I guess 🤔 this anime really showed what love can do! 🤔

Honestly, I stumbled upon this anime by chance when a Facebook reel popped up showing Vermeil, the adorable (and a bit cheeky) demon female lead, trying to seduce Alto, our shy and blushing male protagonist. I couldn’t stop smiling like an idiot while watching it and thought, "Okay, this seems fun." Little did I know it would turn out to be much more than just playful teasing and romance. From the very first episode, the chemistry between Alto and Vermeil had me hooked. Sure, there’s a fair shareof flirtation and suggestive moments, but the anime surprised me with its depth. The story is packed with humor, some pretty intense action, and a strong emotional core. What really stood out to me was Alto’s unwavering determination to protect Vermeil, no matter what. His declaration, “Even if the whole world is against you, I will always stand by your side,” gave me chills. That’s the kind of loyalty and love that really hits you.

There are a few heartbreaking moments in the story that left me speechless. Without giving away spoilers, one particular scene completely shattered me—it’s the kind of thing that stays with you long after the episode ends. But even amidst the drama, the show knows how to balance it with lighthearted and funny moments, making it an emotional rollercoaster in the best way.

The action scenes were surprisingly good, too! Watching Alto and Vermeil fight together against overwhelming odds was incredibly satisfying. And let’s not forget, the animation team really brought the characters and their powers to life with vibrant visuals and smooth sequences.

The only downside? It’s not over yet. There’s so much more to explore, especially with the hints of more powerful enemies and deeper secrets about Vermeil’s past. Season 2 feels like a must, and I’m seriously counting the days until it’s announced.

If you’re looking for an anime with a perfect mix of romance, action, humor, and heartfelt moments, Vermeil in Gold is definitely worth your time. A big shoutout to the author and production team for creating something this special. I’m eagerly waiting to see how Alto and Vermeil’s journey continues—hopefully sooner rather than later!

Overall, this show feels just like one of those classic magic high school battle-harem anime that were incredibly common back in the day, until isekai harems took their place. If you're hungry for ecchi, then yep, it definitely delivers on the whole"big tiddy succubus mommy-GF" with decent animation budget. However, it REALLY is a bag full of old cliches with not that much substance to it, which again, feels like an anime from like 2013-2016 or so. Even so, it's still not quite as attention grabbing as some of the better classics of the genre; there's just not enough plot happening. The only real twist,if you could call it that, is that it's not really a harem, even though there's a tsundere childhood friend-chan right there; the MC really just sticks with his big succ.

All in all, this definitely feels like the usual anime ad for a LN or in this case, a manga, and while it was fun, I don't really see this holding up in the long term, nor getting a season 2; High school DxD this is not. Honestly, I would give this a 6/10, but the animation budget is decent enough that it's not laughably bad like many under the radar seasonal anime these days but yeah; only watch if you wish you had a "big tiddy succubus mommy-GF/wife".

Alto isn't an overpowered protagonist, which makes his growth more satisfying, while Vermeil's personality adds depth to the story.

While the anime follows familiar tropes, it doesn’t take away from the enjoyment. Fans of supernatural fantasy with a mix of romance will definitely find it entertaining. I really hope we get a Season 2!

Episode 6 fed me too much shit. The first five are ok. How could the stupid Alto be the top in class? to save the villain who enslaved your Vermeil with your own life? FK me The story itself is not boring but bad. It can irritate you. But Vermeil looks good, the director knew where to spend money. The worst character is Alto, a frigid stupid boy character: Alto 0/10 Vermeil 10/10 story 3/10 Very bad, if you want story, don't watch this anime art: 6/10 The boobsare good. the backgrounds are simple and generic. The fights are similarly barebones.

Kinsou no Vermeil was a decent anime to watch, and I'll try to explain why in this review. First things first, this show has the ecchi tag, therefore, expect a lot of fanservice scenes, and you can already skip this review and show if you don't like that type of scenes, cause there will be many of them, and they aren't that unique nor thoughtful. Pros of this anime : + Vermeil character, you are bound to like this waifu + The visuals were good looking ( no pun intended ), it's colorful, the opening is nice aswell + The character design felt good enough exceptfor the MC Alto that really had a generic/bland look

+ The pace was enjoyable, it's hard to describe, but even if there is only 12 episodes, the story covered many events, a lot of stuff happens in almost every episode, but it remains easy to follow the story

Cons of this anime :

- The plot is non existent. I mean, the story does build a plot, but it's so generic you can't take it seriously, or at least not with the content shown in this season

- It's tightly linked with the last point, but the cast of characters is trivial as hell

- Cringe scenes, stupid moments, it's frequent enough to mark it as a negative aspect. I think it harms the story because it prevents the viewer from expecting interesting things out of it

Regarding the fanservice scenes, I would say it's a neutral aspect of this anime. While some scenes do work, most of the time they feel repetitive or not needed. I don't know, maybe I'm thinking too hard about it, after all we are talking about lewd scenes in animation, maybe we shouldn't try to think about their purpose beside the obvious goal of showing nudity & somewhat erotic moments ?

And I also wanted to add another idea regarding the story : even if I think the story as a whole isn't interesting and isn't a strong aspect of Kinsou no Vermeil, I have to reckon that pretty much everything was plausible in terms of world building. Everything isn't explained in the anime, but the fights, the events, the few rules shown for this magical world were respected, and it's not always the case, so there's that, the story isn't interesting but at least, there isn't too much absurdity.

TL;DR :

Kinsou no Vermeil is an ecchi anime that takes place in a fantasy/magical world. Watch this if you are interested in seeing a relationship between a young boy and a woman/demon. The evolution of their relation is pretty much the only thing interesting to follow in the story, but don't expect something incredible, I might be stating the obvious here, but when an anime has the ecchi tag in it, your expectations regarding the story shouldn't be too high. This show isn't meant for everyone, and keep in mind that it's clearly not trying to be original at all, so if you've seen 100 magical/fantasy animes before, chances are you won't click with Kinsou, except if you are relly into lascivious demons.
