Tesla Note is a textbook example of so bad it's good content, and one of the most misunderstood series alongside Sonny Boy. It feels like I'm the only one in the world who thought it was amazing, but I wouldn't give it any less of a 10/10. It has permanently scarred me forever in how horrifying it is, but it was merciful. Nearly every episode I was crying from laughter. This is a series that is going to break you. It feels like they made the animation terrible on purpose to make it funnier. I could write a book about all the animation errors andawkward execution in this series, and yet it became the most enjoyable series of the season for me other than Sonny Boy.

One problem with this series is that it was ignorantly treated unfairly. Many viewers were going by word of mouth, MAL scores of all things, a few seconds of the first episode, or by an image or short clip. Then they would instantly give it a 1/10 and bash it. I saw viewers do this. It's fine if they hated it, but Tesla Note deserves a chance.

Tesla Note feels to me like the beginning of something I mostly don't want to start in anime. CGI/2D mixing in anime has been a mistake overall though eventually it might get a little better as the technology improves, and every now and then a hit comes out using it.

Animation aside, Tesla Note is very good with solid writing overall. Without the awful animation it is still hilarious. Tesla is one of the most interesting people to have ever lived, and governments made sure to seize all his work and hide it from the public. I'm sure much of the best technology out today was made in secret with the documents he left over after he died a penniless man. But the hilarious thing about this being a series based on science, is that the series itself hardly follows the laws of science with its animation.

There's an organization that is out to prevent the world from misuse of the Tesla shards, which have many incredible powers. Botan is a ninja that was raised as a weapon but for whatever reason can't kill at first. She cares for life as far as to willingly give up her life and disobey orders to do so. Even if her life is threatened, she'll find the time to come to clumsy realizations and joke around. She is very durable seeing as though Elmo's Rhino fists don't seem to do any damage to her. She has a clever perception and is as cute as a button. Her interactions with Kuruma are hilarious and some of the best parts in the series.

Kuruma is a very angry spy who thinks he's the best and who feels forced to have to work with Botan. They constantly butt heads, but he does care and is very protective of her. He wears a distractingly colorful sweater and has some of the worst mouth animations I have ever seen.

The most interesting character, however, is Mickey. I despise the CIA, but I'll make an exception for him and Oliver. His comedy is awkwardly funny as he moves majestically in his deliverance.

Oliver is a good boy and I'm sure I wasn't the only one getting Kircheis/Reinhard vibes from him and Mickey.

I'm not going to mention every character, but they are all loveable, funny, and memorable characters. Una Casita is a sad excuse of a villainous organization, but the arc of the spies is a great and touching story overall.

I'll have fond memories of screaming out in laughter from awkward whistling scenes, Una Casita jokes, Mickey's fabulous personality, awkward scene transitions, frozen frames, choppy frames, awful dog growling, soundless explosions, off timing sound effects, shapeshifting off model animation, nonexistent and confusing fighting choreography, characters getting roasted, characters relaxing casually while on fire, Oliver sniping drones from a high speed raft, homicidal priests, constant misspelling of words, Claydo people in the background, the camera constantly zooming into the sun during important scenes, lifeless movements, floating people, thrones that look like urinals, Play Station 1 tier cut scenes, long still frame shots with audio around them, the worst AI fight I have ever seen, and that awful circus song that keeps playing, even during tense moments.

Jeez. I had to do a review here because this anime is getting so much hate and disrespect even If It is NOT THAT BAD. Tesla Note is a interesting anime with a decent comedy and a cool, but not that brilliant, story. Basically, we have spys, action scenes that looks like hollywood movies, some nice adventures and tense moments, a bunch of different characters and, mainly, some letal ''crystals'', capable of ''destroying the world.'' Yeah, It's not a big deal but the general idea does work. The thing here is, the 3D animation makes the overall idea looks bad. Action scenes require a good andsmooth animation, and making it on CGI can be really hard, specially when you are a begginer(studio).

BUT, here is the real thing: Tesla Note's animation is NOT THAT BAD AS IT SEEMS. Comparing it to ''Ex-arm'' is a insult. Of course, It's not that good too, but, as soon as you start watching it, you can see that they(the animators) are, at least, trying. The characters expressions is notable, and they try to add some extra movements on some scenes to compensate the lack of 2D animation. There is some weird moments, like 2D characters in the background with some 3D around, or when a character get ''2D animated'' suddenly, but It's not something too shameful to see happening.

When talking about the characters, you can see that each one has it own personality and role on the comedy. They are actually ok, not memorable, just ok. The dialogues are somehow funny to hear, and the main characters makes everything more watchable because of their dynamic and interactions, along with their personalities. Botan is a extroverted teen with a big heart, always wanting to save or help people, while Kuruma is that classic ''angry and dumb but nice'' guy.

As I said, they make the thing work. There is some other characters that provide us some funny or exciting moments, but the highlight goes to Botan and Kuruma.

The sound is ok. Nothing too impressive. There is some cool OSTs with ok sound effects and that's it.

I'd say that Tesla Note is not a real bad experience, It can make you laugh sometimes, not mattering if it is because of the animation or just the comedy itself. The story is dynamic enough to keep you interested in the upcoming episodes. Of course, I would not recomment it to anyone, there is a lot of better things to watch, but It is not bad like people are saying it is.

Overall, I am giving to this anime(for now) a 6/10. This show is getting crucified for minor things.

You'd think, with me giving this rating, that I would be blaming it on the CGI of all things. But no, for me, Tesla Note gets a bit of a meh rating for me, because of it's story, and here is why. The main issue with Tesla Note, is that it tries to set a certain tone, but it fails to do such in so many margins. Not even in a 'it's so bad, that it's good' kind of vibe. It just falls flat for me. It's as if through this more serious, or seemingly geared to a more serious plotline, there is this element ofcomedic effect that they have to push in, that just falls on death ears most of the time. But it all takes you out of the moment, and removes any tension within.

Sure, there are shows I bet with the same sort of ideals, that hit the mark, but there is something about this show that just misses it completely. It's actually sad. As the ideal plot isn't that bad, along with the actual cast of the show. They're actually very likable characters, for who they are, and their personalities, it's just the whole presentation has left it to fail from start to finish. Tesla Note isn't a bad show, it's just. Really average and run of the mill.

Now the art. If you remember EX-Arm, then you'll get the same vibes here. Though Tesla Note is a little better, but not by much. If this kinda of style bothers you, then already, you shouldn't give this show a shot. Move on from it, and never look back. But it's honestly not that bad looking all round. It just. Like a lot of this show. Just comes off as cheap.

But hey, least the sound and such is fitting for purpose right? That's one of few good points that I can truly give it.

Tesla Note will sadly stand out for the wrong reasons, rather than anything note worthy. It's as one in the forms put it. A B budget rated movie. Which is what you'll honestly get with this show. A alright story, but with a meh production behind it all. I would give it a try, see how you feel, but I wouldn't go for it at all if I'm perfectly honest with you.

I know what you're thinking: Is Tesla Note the second coming of the boldly acclaimed "SF show that declared war to end all SF shows"? The short answer...yes. The long answer...not quite so, so don't get your pitchforks and lay crucifixes on this show just yet. Before I jump ahead to give you the full details, I'm pretty sure that 6,942.0 of you should at least know the brains behind Tesla Note: Masafumi Nishida and Tadayoshi Kubo. Not so much with the latter as this is his first time writing a manga, but the former has a track record to his name: the creator of themuch acclaimed Tiger & Bunny. For reference, last season's MAPPA-produced water polo show Re-Main was his chance to create something original and different by being the head honcho of the usual anime production aspects (creator, director, script and sound), but depending on how you view that show, it can come off as the stereotypical "love it or hate it" rhetoric. This is pretty much the exact same scenario with Tesla Note, which the manga only started serializing this year, and the anime pretty much adapted the entire source material (if going off by sources alone) so there's not an incentive to read the soon-to-be translated manga anyways.

If anything, Tesla Note in Masafumi Nishida's writing is the epitome of a classic action-heavy, comedy-spliced spy/espionage show with a simple premise: locate, seek and destroy the source of power from evil who's using that power to take over the world. And that power is inspired from the deep down by the legendary Nikola Tesla, in the form of the Shards of Tesla: different numbered Shards that all emit different types of powers, that when combined together, create the basis of an atomic structure that is powerful enough to bring the world to its knees. Not the most unique of ideas, but that's one heft of a concept work. The overall execution though will "amaze-balls" you at how shallow it can be at times, but at least it serves as tension relief.

That concept work is paired with characters that are walking tropes, but at least they're self-aware so there's some "comedic fun" to be had within each of them. Going off on the Japanese spy side of things with Japan Safety & Promotion Co., you have teenage spies Botan Negoro and Kuruma, strategist Kyouhei Himi, negotiator Ryuunosuke Takamatsu, and heading this "agency" is Botan's grandfather Jingo. It's actually impressive how Botan and Kuruma are so characteristically and dynamically different but alike as well, they're like yin and yang to always have small, bickering arguments that during operations, they operate with one mind to save loved ones, that actually makes Tesla Note watchable for once. The one extroverted softie, and the other being a crude and rude guy, both having a heart of compassion when it comes down to the crunch. Kyouhei and Ryuunosuke are there as mere guides, but also do a fairly good job too with the plot twists in the series. The CIA with agent Mickey Miller and assistant Oliver Thornton, one a very extravagant charismatic, and the other serving as background support. I've gotta say that VA Junichi Suwabe really fits Mickey's character, especially with all the quote-unquote "complex wording explanation overlay" to make him more professional "smart aleck" sounding than he actually is. Others are there to fill their roles, and just come off as being subpar to at best decent.

The elephant in the room is the ironic decision to produce this in a 2D-3DCG mix just like Ex-Arm (like come on, what are you guys thinking to do?), but to be fair, while it's still jarring to see the exact same "puke" moments of the 2D and 3D mix, in defense of Tesla Note, this show is at least trying to be more expressful than the pure abomination of the former. One thing to note is that although Gambit is credited for the main production, it's not an animation company, but rather a casting company. The production assistance comes from 3 studios: creative studio Risemore and CG studios Studio Bokan and Type Zero. For their efforts from coming fresh off from the horrible job of Visual Flight being all "live-action" like, at least this was in the right direction of getting the expressions down, while feeling so cheap. But still, this feels like a stretch in frustration, the realization of a 2D-3DCG mix for primetime anime will never be ready, not even for light years to come.

At least the OST does sound kinda cool. Most especially with TOKYO MONSTERS's OP, it has a cool lick to it that gets the pumpin' driving beats, you most certainly can't deny that the more this gets a listen, the more this song is low-key certified banger though. Though I can't say the same for Yui Ninomiya's ED which is just a contrast to the show overall.

Tesla Note really had the unfortunate fate of being branded as Ex-Arm 2.0 because of the sole decision to go exactly the way that it went in the animation department. Like why, is this supposed to be the next "quantum leap" forward in anime? I most certainly don't think so. Even if the other aspects of the show were or weren't able to cover up the fact that THIS specific animation style was chosen to highlight how it would've looked like in the first place, it was just a case of a bad call which made everyone's day worse.

Stray away from Tesla Note unless you want to be electrically brainwashed, but it's isn't as bad as anyone would think.

[Spoilers... obviously] [also just to add, I rewatched it like a year and a half after it came out and it’s rewatch value is actually pretty good] I had more fun than I should have. This shows animation is horrible, but it wierdly enough made the show all the more better in this case. The show was almost always had bad 3D animation and sometimes a barely ok 3 second (at most) 2D animation. The story was ok until the last episode where it upgraded from ok to a slightly better version of ok. The characters are fine, but my personal favorite was the rip offDio (in looks) that was a CIA agent that also said random things that made no sense, exept for the time he said "I didn't know you were a sadist". I like how dumb it is that Kuruma was named "Car" pretty much. The best part about all of this is that the people making this clearily never really took it seriously so it wasn't the kind of show that was meant to be good.Which makes it so instead of you pausing every few seconds out of cringe, pain and suffering, you just laughed at its stupidity. This is GOLD for people that love bad TV shows but don't want to deal with the after effects of a bottomless void of questioning why you were so much of a masochist that you made yourself suffer watching a show well also simultaneously giving yourself depression. 10/10 purely cause it didn't make me feel a void cause I realized I just wasted hours of my life watching bad trash instead of good trash.

I feel somewhat bad for this show, because despite being unwatchable, it does have some good aspects about it. Not good enough to actually tell you to watch this, please avoid this like the plague (and other things…), but I do feel it may be worth mentioning, maybe to read source material or something. - I personally liked the bantering between our two main characters. I genuinely found certain interactions to be quite funny, which was great amidst the rest of what I had to watch. - The story itself could be interesting as well, maybe with a change of pacing. Quite a few different groups strivingfor a similar goal, for different reasons. Quite a few twists and turns, some of which don't land too well because of pacing, but nevertheless, genuine attempts were made to make something interesting, and I think it's worth highlighting that.

Even though I haven't really said much, I'll just leave it at that. I assume there will be troll reviews and actual reviews that both basically tell you to avoid this anime, which you should, since the animation seriously eliminates all possibilities of enjoyment. Just figured I would at least point out that there is a non-zero% chance that this could be a decent series if it had a better adaptation. So basically, if the synopsis seems at all interesting, it may be worth checking out the manga.

Tesla Rolling in His Grave. Tesla Note is the third in 2021's quad-force of CG disaster pieces along with Ex-arm, Cestvs: The Roman Figther and the currently airing Shikizakura (Quin-force if you want to count around a third of "So I'm a Spider, So What?" offerings). Tesla Note manages to land on the Ex-arm side of so bad it's hilarious so there is definitely value in watching it if you're into watching terrible anime with your friends whilst getting drunk/other, but not much else beyond that. Unlike Ex-arm however, characters are able to make facial expressions too express emotions other than default. Whether this is agood thing is up for debate because of the uncanny valley vibe the models that are also CONSTANTLY moving give off like robots pretending to be human. The closest thing I can think of as a comparison are those old, bizarre sfm animated youtube videos using sonic or Team Fortress 2 characters to animate Game Grumps bits. Just watch Kuruma swimming at the end of episode 1 to understand what I mean.

When the characters aren't CG they're animated fairly poorly which becomes even more awkward when they're animated against the CG models. These are mostly for the background characters or minor characters who aren't around long enough to matter. Speaking of background characters you'll be hard pressed to find them as public settings are usually completely devoid of life. Busy high streets are ghost towns making certain scenes feel awkward.

Tesla Notes characters are all some form of generic anime spy team archetypes. Botan Negoro is a high schooler (cus anime) who is a secret ninja and uses her amazing skills too... stop one of her classmates from being bullied and extorted for money by a trio of girls and too... help a black kid being abused by his black, deadbeat dad who gets him to pickpocket strangers to help pay off his debt to a loan shark... these are the only two black characters you'll be introduced too by episode 4 of the show by the way... yikes...

To be fair the kid did steal a Tesla McGuffin needed for the quite frankly insane plot sooooo...

Tesla Note is insane (not in a good way). I would continue watching it because I am one of those people who enjoys watching hilariously bad anime, but there aren't enough hours in the day and there are much, much better shows too keep up with this season. 15 in fact!

Do I think people are absolutely overreacting about this anime? Absolutely. I don't really understand the hate for this anime besides the weird switch between 3D and 2D animation, with there being weird stills or shifts in animation and just the production of the show in general. The story was solid. I didn't feel as though it was disjointed, made no sense, or had unrealistic expectations for plot progression. The way the anime went about discovering new shards, sure, could have been more optimized if we had more source material and/or a longer show adaptation, but neither of those was the case. Every organization's response toeach of the problems they encountered was fair and I liked seeing the differences in reaction to each scenario presented with the shards.

Instead, we got a show not only with interesting characters whose backstories not only made sense but anchored us in pathos so we actually gave a damn about what happened to them. There are so many shows out there that have high scores which had abysmal characters and an awful story, yet this show has none of those and the score is so low? I really think people are shallow on this website.

In short, give this show a try. It's really not as awful as people are making it out to be. Yeah, it's not a masterpiece, but it's not something I would say is a "bad show" or "the next ex-arm."

To be honest, it's not a horrible anime, but it's just average (if you exclude the animation). The premise was cool and I liked the overall idea initially, though I found myself losing interest quite a few times throughout the story. The CGI needed work. I know it's a new studio and they tried, but I don't think that's a valid excuse for producing subpar animations. It was really difficult to start watching because of this. The 3D animations felt out of place; they didn't look natural. There were weird switches between 3D and 2D. Sometimes there were 2D animations in the background with 3Dmain characters. You'd wonder if they meant to put 2D animations at certain spots or if they forgot/got too lazy to put 3D. It was just really odd.

The OST was decent. I neither liked nor disliked the music, but it just didn't stand out.

Other than that, I found the characters pretty enjoyable. I liked Botan's character because you don't really get strong girl MCs often. And even though she is a strong ninja who likes making jabs at Kuruma, she also has such a big heart for helping others. The interactions between those two characters were quite fun to watch at times. Also, the seiyuu cast is amazing if you are into that.

Overall, it's not too bad and can be a fun anime to watch on the side IF you have the time, can get past the weird CGI, and have low expectations. But if you don't watch it, you're not missing out on anything really. There's definitely better anime to watch this season.

Tesla Note, the second coming of Ex-arm... Is it that bad? Kind of yes, but mostly for different reasons. Don't get me wrong, this show is ugly. 3D is half-baked at best, constantly supplemented with bottom-tier 2D (outside of nice backgrounds), inconsistently animated (sometimes quite well, sometimes atrociously when the team rushed important scenes and patchworked stuff together in the most jarring ways). It's not as broken as Ex-arm and not as hideous as Gibiate, but that's basically the only positive thing you can say about Tesla Note's looks. At least the inappropriately-high-quality voice cast does their absolute best to bring the over-the-top characters and cringycomedy to life, giving the show some kind of charm...

However, it all can't distract you from how stupid it all is. Not the weird-anime-shit kind of way, more like something written entirely by a not-very-talented grade schooler. The plot is nonsense, the pseudo-science is insultingly dumb whenever it even tries to explain anything, and all of that is already bad... But the character motivations and everyone's behaviour in life-threatening situations are just unforgivable. Nothing makes sense here and the longer the show goes, the less it comes together. And it's not like it gives up on telling a story, it tries to have both comedic and serious moments, comic relief characters and people we should care about... But it's just so shallow and fails so hard to follow any kind of logic. I don't think I've seen anything this poorly-written since Skelter+Heaven and I'm willing to believe 90% of it is s***-tier source material. Why did anyone bother to adapt this into anime? I can't begin to imagine.

Do not watch, unless morbidly curious.

3DCG is horrible even if better than EX-ARM. (EX-ARM is one of the worst Anime in the universe) Art is one of biggest part of anime. So we can said this anime is simply bad. But, in the other part of this anime is not Bad. Tesla note has nice simple storyline with fun character and Action and humor. And Director of anime did good job, So presentation and composition are fairly good. It give you entertaiment more than other loose ISEKAI anime that has not bad Art. Art is not everything about Anime. Many people who don't saw this anime undervalued Tesla note. we should review this animecarefully.

If your eyes or brarin get used to this awful 3DCG, You can find many fun stuff in this anime. Don't judge this anime with only your first feeling.

lastly, sound and voice acting are good too.

If Tesla note had Good 3DCG, it would be nice anime.

Ok, that wasn't good as in it was just too elaborate, to which IMAO, original creators like Nishida, Masafumi and Kubo, Tadayoshi, now generally speaking it was good, but all that secret agent stuff combine with Lara Croft, Ninja stuff, and some action thing were just a couple of things all forcefully combine in one. So: Story-Pathetic 1: The plot taken from the "Tesla Files" combine with some James Bond/ Lara Croft / Ninja / comedy/ Scifi/ whatever was just too poorly combine into aa anime like this, where the heroine was a High School Girl, whom was well trained by her Grandfather wasdrafted to work in Mission T, or what Mickey would call "Tempura." The mission, to find 10 Shards of Nikola Tesla, now all of this anime's story plot has more to do with the heroine and her grown-up lacky / freindenemy ,together with smart fat guy and smart 4 eyes/ mole. Because of such plot was put on to the heroine , not much were put on the said "Shards of Nikola Tesla" , in fact we only knew a handful of those "Shard can do and there some , we have no idea at all.

Art-Good 7: Good used of 3D and combine with 2D, but in the end giving that 3D was just too costly limiting the action on the last episode was such a drag. Also, I really can't fathom as to why studio Gambit have to keep Botan in her joshikausei uniform, when she wasn't attending her class.

Sound-Fair 7: Nice closing theme "Sanbunteki LIFE (散文的LIFE)" by Yui Ninomiya.

Character- Poor: Ok so let's go to each of them:

Protagonist:

Kuruma- He was suppose to be a secret agent for the Japanese Gov't and yet he acts like a rough neck cop.

Negoro, Botan- Seriously, wtf were them original creators thinking, of putting a high schooler on such dangerous mission of espionage? I mean, couldn't they even have her matured up a bit ,like maybe they could've made her as this 18 year old lass highly adept in Ninjutsu , instead of a 15 or 16 year old High School girl...And what's with that Joshikausei uniform that she wore , even though she wasn't attending high-school? Also, her character was just too nice that doesn't fit her job as a secret agent.

Miller, Mickey- To me I see him as this pompous asshole, who always combines his job with lots of flare, for a trained CIA operative, he was just too stupid to jumped on his colleague Thornton, Oliver, despite of him already been informed by his boss

Steinem, Lily.

Himi, Kyouhei- I kinda hate him for being this plus size agent of "tempura" for being what he truly is, totally useless.

Negoro, Jingo- He should've just stayed as an old man in the hills, rather than the boss of team tempura.

Toriumi, Kensuke- Now he , should've been the boss of team "tempura."

Moles:

Thornton, Oliver- Having him being a male for "Una Casita: would have been good if they only portrayed him as an absolute bad guy that gets a horrible death.

Takamatsu, Ryuunosuke- I would've prefer that Botan be the one who deals with him , instaed of Botan dealing with the big guy, Elmo.

Una Casita ( Man, watta lousy name for a criminal organization)

Mr. D- Nice that he gets a horrible death, but him being a lousy shot to Botan was a waste of his character as a villain.

Elmo and Pino- Just like them bad guys of Una casita they're pretty much lousy and they're gay...

Enjoyment-Poor 3: I just have poor enjoyment of this anime, that there were times I want to drop this.

Overall- Pathetic 1: Season 2????? Don't even think about, bitch.

I'm tired of seeing people hating this anime, for it's lack of animation, the switches between 2D and CGI. Tesla Note doesn't deserve the hate, the animation studio might have been one of the newer japanese animation studios, who created most of the Isekai animes. Plus we never had a spy anime, ever being released. so I'd say Tesla Note is very unique and sure it's Art is "Mediocre or bad" it still doesn't deserve such hate. I give the japanese animation studio who made this props for actually attempting at doing an animation CGI anime. The story is extremely good, if you can look past theanimation artstyle and overall has enjoyment in it. The sound effects may need work,

Story: 8/10

Art: 5/10

Sound 6/10

Character 8/10

Try to think of an unholy child of Giabate and Ex-Arm. Take characters who are totally unlikable, team them with dumb as a post boss, mix well and serve a hot steaming mess. The basic concept of "look for the things that might end the world" could work if someone tried to make an effort at character development and dialog... but that seems to be missed here. Main character is boring but could be better. Side character is just annoying. The fat guy boss serves as "Phil-up T Exposition" with no real reason to be on screen. Seems fitting the first episode showed a train wreck...now if they use a dumpster fire we can credit them with truth in advertising.

Tesla Note was a real piece of work, clearly evoking a similar feel to Ex-Arm from the previous winter. Which if you haven't seen, go grab your least serious friends and watch. But Tesla Note differs from Ex-Arm in the fact that honestly it isn't a horrible show. I do personally feel Ex-Arm could actually have been a really cool cyberpunk story with major revisions and changes, but Tesla Note has some enjoyment on its own, in addition to the really stupid stuff, which I think I'll cover first. First of all, the visuals are absolutely horrendous. The models all look like they were made 10years ago, the animations all feel strange, and sometimes the show cuts to 2D animation for a specific facial animation that was impossible to do with the model they had. The camera angles were also often awkward and strange, although there were a few times they took advantage of the 3D environment to do some neat passes. I will say that all of this was quite better than Ex-Arm, which didn't even have 3D models for a large majority of the lesser side characters. It also had like some actual weapons used in it, which was like neat if you know enough firearm names to pick them out but otherwise doesn't add too much. But as a whole the show looks hideous and strange.

But when it comes to the actual story, I think this show is actually pretty ok. The story and show as a whole is just so ridiculous and nonsensical that I think its actually kind of enjoyable. The show never really feels like its taking itself super seriously, and if I'm being honest, had a pretty decent twist. But even saying that, I wouldn't really recommend this show, at the end of the day it honestly sucks, and if you really want that "so bad its good" action, you should watch Ex-Arm instead for 10x the fun.

I thought Ex-Arm was bad, boy oh boy...the animation is a step up from that terrible anime, but wow...I don't know how this was allowed to be created...the story was fine, but it just felt like the typical "monster of the day" anime where they fight a new character or face a new event every day. Honestly by the end it got boring...and the whole story about the main characters family member, etc was so badly played it just had me face palming...it did provide some moments of enjoyment..but that was mostly in the beginning..by the end it became a tired trope. It's bad, verybad. Don't watch this.

Could this series be the next RWBY? Probably not, but it's certainly trying to be. From the ombre bob cut to the sub-par CGI and questionable character designs, paired with surprisingly well choreographed action scenes, some nicely spicy dialog - mixed with utter cheesefest - and a good helping of a very original and genuinely fun universe. Unfortunately, unlike RWBY, there's too few moments of joy, and the series takes itself far too seriously conscidering how evidently tiny the budget was. The few attempts at comedy range from nose-snortingly okay to having bafflingly awful timing, not helped by the switch to 2d that's clearly an attempt toconvey more emotion than the 3d models were capable of - yes, that's a RWBY thing to, though theirs had far better timing and class.

Honestly, the best made part of this is the OP and ED . They slap, and have absolutely no right to be anywhere as good as they are. Even the action sound effects are surprisingly fun and the acting, while hardly award-worthy, is far better than a lot of similarly b-grade anime. Is sound where all the budget went? Because it definitely feels like it.

I don't think there's much use talking about character - they really did just rip a couple of RWBY and a few Sentai characters for the most part, and threw away a good bit of their growth to boot.

Look, if you're really that bored, you might as well give it a go. But don't say I didn't warn you!
